When we lived in what's known as the ViBe District and mini me went to Cooke Elementary, every so often we would stop by here after taking mini me to CHKD for health issues. It was a ritual that I and mini me would do. Feeling nostalgic, we returned. The coffee is always good, food decent, service impeccable! Although majority of the staff has now left and replaced by new employees. Our waitress was young and had college debt to pay off so she worked there to pay off school loans quicker. Smart girl!
The decor has changed some, the colors on the walls were red and blue, trimmed in white. Pretty patriotic colors if you ask me. And yes some of the decorations had changed over the years, after all it's been 12 years since we moved to our present location and most of our neighborhood friends had moved away, so we don't get to this area much anymore. But it's nice to visit old stomping grounds and here's a nice reminder for those that do not know this area too well, it's within a mile from the oceanfront, roads are a bit narrower, people often park in front of their home on the street, and for those living around there, people mostly ride bikes or walk to their location. I maybe living in another part of the city, but let's face it, I still miss this area. And if you're driving through, watch after the bike riders, when we lived there, they tended to ignore stop signs. Just saying because no one wants to be involved in an accident.
