The 17 Essential Ice Cream Shops in Los Angeles

"LA's original Persian ice cream shop, with locations on La Brea, at Griffith Park, and in Westwood, has been serving locals and tourists for decades. The 16 Best Ice Cream Spots In Los Angeles

"Mashti Malone’s is an LA institution that’s been serving Persian-style ice cream in the heart of Hollywood (and now Westwood) for almost 40 years. The menu is large, with nearly 50 different flavors served on any given day, but what makes this tiny shop so special are its fragrant flavors that stay on your tongue all afternoon. Think ginger rosewater, saffron, and roasted pistachio-infused heaven. There is an almost perfume-like quality to the ice cream here that, at first, might take some people by surprise, but then you’ll realize you never want another kind of ice cream again." - brant cox, nikko duren, sylvio martins, jess basser sanders

Google
I really like this ice cream place! The quality of the ice cream is excellent, and they offer a wide variety of flavors. Some are truly unique—like pistachio with saffron and lavender coconut—and many of them taste amazing. A few are more of an acquired taste, but the staff is happy to let you sample flavors before you decide, which is a big plus. Payment is easy and convenient—they accept credit cards, cash, Apple Pay, and other forms of NFC payment. While the indoor seating is limited, there are a few spots to sit outside. There’s also plenty of parking available in the lot, which is great. One downside is that they don’t have a restroom for customers, so keep that in mind. But overall, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try. The prices are fair, and the ice cream is worth it!

Google
What a wonderful selection of flavors. The herbal snow ice cream is incredible - refreshing, not too sweet, delicious! Service was friendly, and this location is very clean.

Vee Glessner

Google
Every flavor stood out, wow! We went twice in the same day. The 4 flavors for $10 flight is a steal, perfect for sharing. I HIGHLY recommend the peanut butter cookie flavor, and the alphonso mango flavor was also incredible.

Dalia D.

Google
The ice cream was decent. I purchased three flavors and two baklava. We were not greeted nor offered a taste or any recommendations. The boy serving didn’t even acknowledge our order, even forgot to give me the baklava (it was served in a cup instead of a bag or anything fancy) The boy serving was only friendly with the white couple that walked in. We were not even given an explanation of the flavors or nothing else.

Deniz Keles

Google
Such heavenly ice creams, cannot have enough! We loved the saffron & pistachio, earl grey tea and peanut butter & cookie however there are a lot more to try. Well recommended. Also worth noting it’s at a plaza with free parking.

Gilat Weiman

Google
delicious! very unique flavors, natural ingredients, not too sweet. I love the saffron pistachio, banana walnut, French lavender, date flavors.

Timothy Mota

Google
The flavors were unique (loved the saffron) but the quality was definitely a little lower than expected. There was some condensation in the freezers and some of the ice cream looked pre-melted. Wished for a better overall experience especially for what it was rated.

Google
Legendary ice cream spot. Unique flavors, kind service. So much food love here!

Yelp
My former Hollywood High School classmates and I have been feasting for decades on incredible ice cream at Mashti Malone's Ice Cream (La Brea location). During today's visit, my wife and I were honored to meet Mashti Shirvani himself. What an amazing man! Mashti is a true American success story. His ice cream creations are legendary. EVERY ice cream flavor we've ever tried is delicious. Mashti's daughter waited on us and provided fabulous service. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. As Mashti puts it, he's in the "happy business." We agree Mashti's ice cream makes us happy. I recommend Mashti Malone's Ice Cream without reservation.

Yelp
Mashti Malone's Ice Cream is like a flavor explosion in a cone! You walk in, and it feels like a sweet little secret waiting to be discovered. The flavors? Man, they've got some wild ones! The "Rosewater" flavor is like taking a bite of a fragrant garden. You think, "Am I eating ice cream or wandering through a flower shop?" And the "Saffron"? One scoop and you'll feel like you're on The Silk Road! The vibe inside is cozy--like a friend's living room where they happen to serve ice cream. The staff? Super friendly! They'll let you sample everything. I love that! It's like, "Why pick one flavor when I can try to sample my way to a sugar high?" Whether savoring a scoop on the patio or taking pints home, Mashti Malone's is all about unique flavors that make you feel right at home. If you haven't been yet, go check it out. Just be ready; one scoop might lead to a lifelong obsession!

Yelp
i love this place!! i love the texture of the ice cream and love the variety of flavors. the free parking lot is also very convenient! the hours are great. the only thing i would advise the owners would be to clean the outside tables more frequently or add some kind of plants or something cute to make it more vibey and nice outside since the area it's in is by a bar so the crowd can be a bit weird. otherwise great love it.

Yelp
Was craving ice cream after a movie and found this gem. I had always driven past it but never gave it a try until today. The flavor options were infesting, such as lavender, pistachio with orange peel. I went for a basic banana walnut ice cream on a cone, it was really good. It was a bit pricey. I bought two single cones and it came out to $11.90. Luckily I paid cash as they charge a 3.99% service fee if you use your credit or debit card.

Yelp
After a great dinner, I needed dessert. I detoured into a little shopping plaza in West Hollywood that contains Mashti Malone's Ice Cream. This Iranian ice cream shop specializes in rose water infused ice cream. Within its brightly lit, pastel colored interior sits a long stretch of a glass counter which displays their collection of ice creams. Their staff member was super friendly and informative. You can dabble in unique flavors (like Persian cucumber, dates, Turkish coffee) or familiar ones (like matcha, Madagascar vanilla, etc.). I got their signature Saffron Rosewater with pistachios ($5.95). The saffron rosewater has a floral taste which gets contrasted by the nutty pistachios. This was a new flavor realm in ice creams for me.
google avatar

Yelp
WOW! This spot offered so many vegan flavors outside of the ordinary chocolate, vanilla, etc. I tried the vegan saffron, pomegranate sorbet, herbal snow sorbet, and alponso mango. They also had cookies and cream for those who prefer to stick to the basics. I ended up getting the saffron rosewater and pomegranate sorbet, it was around $7. The staff was kind and talked to us about the shop's history. I will be coming back!

Yelp
Mashti Malone's came as a recommendation from my fellow Yelp Elite and foodie extraordinaire, Joseph A. They are located in an unassuming mini-strip mall like building. We were nearby at the Hollywood Walk of Fame and decided to stop by and do dessert before dinner ;) Honestly wouldn't have known an ice cream shop was here if I wasn't looking for it. Parking was surprisingly easy and there was plenty available at around 6:30pm. We walked in and had the shop all to ourselves. They have a laundry list of unique flavors like creamy rosewater, herbal snow, orange blossom with pistachios, persian cucumber, and many more house specialties. However, they are known for their saffron rosewater with pistachios. I decided to get baklava special with dulce de leche ice cream topped with a baklava loghmeh. The baklava was really yummy and the cardamom and pistachio flavors really came through. It took me back to our time in Greece! The dulce de leche ice cream was also really tasty. Smooth, creamy, and hit the spot! My other half also got their most popular flavor (saffron rosewater) and lavender. The lavender was really strong and floral for me (I'm not a big fan of floral flavors), so I wouldn't be able to eat a lot of it, but my husband really enjoyed it. The saffron rose water was something I've never had before and was really unique and tasty. Overall, this was a fun, quick stop and everyone enjoyed their ice cream. Definitely recommend a stop here as all their ice cream is homemade in store, using all natural ingredients since 1980.

Yelp
Small ice cream shop that's open late right in the heart of silver lake. I like that it's off the main road so you can sit outside without having cars constantly pass you. The ice cream is very good. We got the classic Persian ice cream which is saffron rose water and also the almond ice cream which tasted like marzipan and might be one of my new favorite ice cream flavors. They have more traditional flavors as well. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area.
google avatar

Sandee L.

Yelp
There were so many unique flavors, I wish there wasn't a two sample limit per person. I didn't want to be boring and go with a run of the mill flavor, but also didn't want to commit to a full scoop of something I hadn't taste tested! We settled on the saffron rosewater with pistachio (their best seller) and the creamy rosewater. We enjoyed them both. The ice cream is creamy AND stretchy! The flavors were present without being overpowering, and the cones/wafers were crunchy and fresh. They also sell pints! Wish we were going back home right away and we would have picked a few up too. 3.99% credit card fee!

Yelp
This was our very last outing in LA the night before my girlfriend family left. We all wanted ice cream, so I looked up the best ice cream places in the Hollywood Area. Mashti Malones was only a 5 minute walk from where we were and it was actually rated one of the top 5 best ice cream spots in the WHOLE WORLD!! So obviously we had to go there!! When we got there, it was not busy at all. Only a few people ahead of us... the flavors of the ice cream were surely unique that you will absolutely NOT find anywhere else! Such an example was Sour Cherry Rice Noodle ice cream... I tried it... it was interesting..... the character of the ice cream shop is very minimalistic and fun! There aren't too many flavors of ice cream to choose from. But again, they're unique, so you may have to take your time and sample all of them before you decide. Which that being said, you're able to sample as many flavors as you want! The prices too aren't that bad. Especially compared to others in the area! The service is also really great there. There was one guy working there when we went, but he kept up with the pace and did a good job. Anyway, I went with Rocky Road ice cream along with cookies and cream (I think)... fairly basic, but I'm into the more basic vs. complex. I got it in a homemade waffle cone too! Which by the way, the waffle cone was one of the best waffle cones I've ever had! It tasted fresh, it was crunchy and it also had a little bit of a cinnamon taste to it! Very subtle tho, so it didn't mess with the ice cream flavors. I recommend the waffle cone! Something to keep in mind tho is that there is no place to sit and eat your cream, not even inside. So we ate our ice cream just outside. But it was good we all enjoyed it! If you find yourself in the Hollywood area, I highly recommend you give Mashti Malones a try! Especially if you like unique flavors!

Yelp
this is some of the best ice cream in town. All the ice cream here taste, clean and fresh they don't use any starchy thickeners in the flavors are really interesting too. There are some pines that you can buy to go which we did recently went when we brought dessert to friends place
google avatar

Oscar L.

Yelp
Mashti Malone has the best Persian ice cream. Highly recommend the Creamy Rosewater flavor. It's a classic with small chunks of sweet cream in the scoop. Other flavors I recommend is the Turkish Coffee and the Saffron Pistachio. Service was quick and you're able to try different flavors. There's some seating right outside the store for you to enjoy the ice cream in some perfect LA weather!
google avatar

Yelp
Was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by to check them out. Went with a pistachio almond Mashti Special which is sandwiched between 2 wafers. The wafers weren't my favorite. Reminded me of communion crackers but larger. "Body of Christ". Lol. Ice cream was ok. I enjoyed it, but I'm not racing back here to pay $6.50 for a smallish ice cream sandwich. 3 stars. A-OK.

Sina N.

Yelp
I really liked the saffron and pistachio ice cream!! So rich and tasty. The gentlemen serving us was very welcoming
google avatar

Oliver W.

Yelp
Great flavor ice cream. Loved their mango pice cream and pistachio ice cream. They also have a lot of more unique flavors. They offered some other sweet cookies/treats but it was a little in the sweet side for me.
google avatar

Sayuri A.

Yelp
Omg best ice cream ever + worth the hype!! they have so many diff flavors to try and the saffron is so unique.

Imran K.

Yelp
I ordered two scoop combo - pistachio and saffron rose. It was very yummy, thick and creamy. The flavors were very deep and there were alot of pistachios in the ice cream as well. They had a lot of flavors to choose from, including vegan options. Luckily the owner was there and we had a good conversation about his business and his experience. The pricing is fair but I would recommend to order 3-4 scoops and then ask for an extra cup to share. The place is super clean and parking was easy to find. The place is well lighted for those who have that concern.
google avatar

Alice Y.

Yelp
My friends and I walked here from the Chinese Theater in Hollywood during the daytime, but Mashti Malone has their own parking lot. I respect the shop's history, as they were integral to introducing the flavors of Persian ice cream to LA. I saw in a video that they had to adjust the "exotic" flavors and spices to the tastes of locals. I think that holds true, so I understand why I find the flavors lighter than I would prefer here. I got two scoops for under $10 after tax and tip. I would have liked more floral in the orange blossom. I enjoyed the Turkish Coffee more. The texture of the ice cream was softer than I expected, but still had body. I wish I tried the baklava, since two people in our group made happy noises as soon as they popped it into their mouths. We hung out on the few patio tables outside.
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
The place is becoming a hidden gem in L.A. After movie, my husband and I stopped to buy ice cream for Super Bowl.mu husband used to go a lot when he lived close to. The Turkish coffee is delicious, but we bought lavender because everyone likes home. The service is friendly, you can ask to try flavors. The ambiance is totally casual and simple. The price is a little bit higher, but it is worth.

Matan M.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream, super friendly staff, and the owner was kind enough to give my girlfriend and I samples of their new flavors. They're celebrating 46 years in LA this January. Support local businesses!
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
Every ice cream I sampled was unique and delicious. I loved how there were so many vegan options too. Each flavor was super strong, creamy, and rich. I got the alphonso mango baklava special with pistachios. I also enjoyed the saffron with pistachios. I like how there's multiple ways to customize your ice cream too. The staff was super nice and helpful. This location was small but had limited seating outside.
google avatar

Yelp
Needed some dessert after dining at TAO, and luckily I found this nearby. It was probably a 5 minute drive, not too bad. The plaza it's located in had plenty of empty parking, but maybe bc it's already late (10pm). It's small, yet super clean and super lit up as you walk in. There's only 2 tables, but there's a few more outside. In front of us, there's a wide selection of flavors. So overwhelming that after us, there were 3 other people who walked in and none of us were ready to order because there were SO MANY options to choose from. I don't remember the names, but there were some really unique flavors that they offered. The one that caught my attention was Turkish coffee. I asked the employee what her opinion was on it and she went "It's actually my favorite flavor. If I do eat ice cream from my job here, it'd be this one." All these flavors but she's willing to eat THIS certain ice cream flavor? I'm like giiiirl hand me my sample! Once I tried a sample, I was HOOKED. I ordered it as a "Baklava Special", with your choice of ice cream topped with 1 baklava. Not exaggerating, this might be in my top 10 of my best desserts yet. I have a love hate relationship with coffee flavored ice cream, because some are too bitter, some are too sweet and don't even taste like coffee. But THIS????? Game changer for real. However the only con this specific ice cream has: it's EXTREMELY caffeinated. The worker actually warned me about it but I was confident it wouldn't affect me. But it did. Tell me why I stayed up until 5am???? The power the Turkish coffee ice cream holds... what a queen. I know EXACTLY where to get dessert late at night if I'm in LA. Now I know it doesn't open SUPER LATE, but I'll definitely keep this place in mind. I'll try other flavors in the future, but I don't think any will take Turkish coffee's #1 spot ;)
google avatar

Jolie M.

Yelp
I sought this out after seeing Bobby and Sophie Flay on their LA episode. The product was good- got vegan mango for my dairy averse daughter and hubby got Strawberry and the rose lavender - it all was really good. Only knock is for our server/cashier who looked annoyed and put our that we were there.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
I love this ice cream shop not only because this was the first ice cream shop we came to when moving here but they have all my favorite flavors. Especially the mashti special the flavors are amazing and my all time. Services was great. The store hasn't change a bit since I was a kid which is wonderful because it brings back great memories.
google avatar

Stephanie O.

Yelp
Quick walk from dinner for dessert, extensive flavor options, the parlor was pretty empty but quickly had patrons following after us. Would definitely come back again if I am in the area to try more options since we were pretty full from dinner
google avatar

Alyssa L.

Yelp
SO many cool and interesting Persian flavors that were all perfectly fragrant; a lot of the time, floral flavors can be so overwhelming it feels like you're straight up eating perfume but the flavors here are so balanced it's more like eating ice cream in a flower garden rather than eating the flower u know?? Also if you're into stretchy ice cream that you can kinda chew - THIS IS THE PLACE! They also do free samples so try as many flavors as you like!! IG: Spillingthe.beans
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
After adding Mashti Malone's to my Yelp bookmarks a while back, I finally found myself in the area which was the perfect opportunity to make a stop to try their famous ice cream. Specializing in Persian and Middle Eastern inspired flavors, this is one of the most unique dessert stops you'll find in LA and is every bit worth a visit. We sampled a few flavors but ultimately decided to go with the Saffron Rosewater with pistachios in a waffle cone. By the way, did you know you can add a mini baklava on top? We decided to throw that in because why not! The flavor of the ice cream was delicious and well balanced without being overly floral or super sweet. Its texture was more dense, creamy and thick, not so much airy which stood up well as we ate the baklava alongside the ice cream. Service wasn't great, as the staff member who assisted us asked my husband point blank if he was sick when he let out a little sniffle. For the record, it was allergies and he told her as such. But we did find it rude and not really a great way to make first time customers feel welcome.
google avatar

Arlan B.

Yelp
The ice cream, the service... Everything was fabulous...only tried the shop in Silver Lake....was a great place to visit while going on Farmer's market day

Ali A.

Yelp
Being Persian I've had a lot of this particular flavored authentic ice cream before in Iran, and I would say this was pretty good. It is however way overpriced for one scoop. It was priced at $5.95 and suddenly it ended up being close to seven dollars with tax and whatever else fees they added on top of it. Not worth $7. Also they have no tables or chairs inside, so on a hot summer day your ice cream will melt within a couple of minutes of sitting outside.
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream and good service. Highly recommend this ice cream spot to everyone.
google avatar

Nasiha A.

Yelp
I tried this place after trying the other Persian ice cream place saffron and rose This plate is also super good So many flavors!! Super clean Service was good, you can try 2 samples I sampled saffron and pistachio And orange blossom and pistachio, I chose the orange blossom pistachio! So good! My husband got saffron and pistachio Sister got the pomegranate and lavender, the pomegranate is so unique and tart. So good as well! There was lot of parking outside which was a plus, and seating as well :) I definitely recommend this place !
google avatar

Ani A.

Yelp
The ice cream never disappoints. It has the nostalgic taste of childhood. We have been visiting this place for years. The staff were a bit unattentivr but I can relate it to visiting the place towards the end of the day. The redecoration has eliminated some of the seating spots which was a bit disappointing.
google avatar

Navene S.

Yelp
Inauthentic flavors. The banana is not really banana, the dulce de leche is just a flavoring and baklava is not made well. All the ice creams were not good to me they tasted fake. They use fake or cheap ingredients for all of their flavors. The guy working there too tells one customer one fridge is closed and then opens it for another. Says you can try as many flavors as you like for some people and others it's just 2. He's all over the place! This is about the young kid working on 3/12 at 10:30pm. Not good at all.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
I was really unsure of eating rice noodles in my ice cream. But it was incredible. I understand why this ice cream store has been featured in so many news articles and TV outlets. It is so unique and a one of a kind. I absolutely recommend. Be aware there's very limited seating so you want to take your ice cream to go be ready to listen to busy street outside.
google avatar

Cat N.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon Mashti during our date night prior to seeing Chris Rock at the Dolby Theater. We had some time to kill and had a sweet tooth going on. Mashti was nearby so we decided to check it out. The nice girl there allowed us to sample whatever we wanted. That was really nice because they had so many interesting flavors other ice cream places do not offer. For example, they had Faludeh, Saffron rosewater, and Pomegranate, and Sour Cherry. Honestly everything we tried was good. But I stuck with chocolate brownie and pistachio. Yum and totally hit the spot. Their flavors are the perfect sweetness. They are extra creamy and I do wish they were a little harder texture but still very satisfying and delicious. Mashti carries lots of different flavors. The shop is cute with outdoor seating only. It is located in a strip mall and parking is pretty easy. They also carry baklava which looked really good. I really want to come back and try other ice cream flavors as well.
google avatar

Gloria L.

Yelp
I finally got to try this long-lasting Persian ice cream shop in Hollywood. Mashti Malone seriously knows how to make some amazing Rosewater infused ice cream. Their Saffron Rosewater with pistachios is the best I've had and I loved how creamy and delicious the flavor was. Also they have free parking in their structure so that's a huge plus especially in LA! We got 2 scoops, one saffron Rosewater, and the other Persian cucumber, along with a "Mashti" special which is Saffron Rosewater as an ice cream sandwich with wafers covered in pistachios. The Persian cucumber flavor was creamy and had the refreshing taste of cucumber but my overall favorite was definitely the Mashti sandwich because the saffron Rosewater ice cream was delicious with the extra pistachios. Definitely come here for their Persian ice cream. You can't go wrong with any of their flavors but I highly recommend trying their Mashti special ice cream sandwich for the taste and the aesthetics!
google avatar

Susie L.

Yelp
How have I not discovered this place sooner? Mashti Malone is an expert of his trade. He definitely knows how to make the most amazing, exotic flavored ice cream I have ever tried. I was fortunate enough to have my friend introduce me to this place Saturday evening. We drove from the Valley because he swore it was worth the drive. I must say, it definitely was worth it. Mashti himself was at the counter, along with two other employees who were both so pleasant and kind. Mashti is awesome, sweetest man ever! Since I hadn't been there before, he literally allowed me to sample nearly every flavor of ice cream he had available. When I say every single flavor was amazing, I am not kidding. Everything was delicious. The ice cream is soft and smooth. I ended up getting the saffron Rosewater with pistachios OMG it is a must try! I ordered a small and it was packed into the cup. Many of their flavors are dairy and gluten free. All their ice creams are all natural with no eggs, corn syrup or artificial flavors. Hands down my favorite ice cream spot in LA. Totally worth the drive from the Valley. If you haven't tried it, you must. Mashti, thank you for being so kind yesterday and for exceptional service. It's no wonder you've been in business for 40+ years. Easy to get to and plenty of parking available. When are you opening a location in the valley?? Their may be additional flavors not included in my photos.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Wow! All I can say is Wow! There are few places that l have been to where dream about returning to. I believe that this will probably be one of them!! We had the pleasure of meeting Mashti as he was on his way out of the store. He shared the story of how his store came to be, and his passion for his craft! He also allowed us to sample a bunch of the other flavors he offers. It was so great to hear that he wanted to share ice cream like he had "back home" Amazing to discover that he only uses natural organic ingredients with quality you can taste! My husband wanted to try the flavor they're most known for which was the saffron/pistachio. I was definitely skeptical at first but what a unique flavor! I went for the Turkish coffee and the kids got rocky road. Everyone was satisfied with their selections. Will definitely be back, or will try to find the prepackaged pints in the Bay Area!

Yelp
The dates ice-cream and saffron pistachio were both creamy and sweet. Theres a couple seating option, both indoor and outdoor but is located in a shady place.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Super unique flavors!! The crispy noodles was a nice play on traditional foods and flavors in ice cream. The favorite part was trying all the unique flavors-- rose water and saffron ::chef's kiss:: such a wonderful experience and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Not a lot of space to sit but still worth the trip.
google avatar

Zach A.

Yelp
We got: 1) Saffron and Rose Water: tasted exactly as I remember this flavor growing up. 2) Rosewater Ice: Comes with two topping "sauces" that I don't know the names of -- definitely get them, this was a hit. 3) Matcha Green Tea: Pretty good, but texture had some chunky bits in it that I couldn't figure out. Overall really liked it and the outdoor seating area is nice on a warm summer afternoon.
google avatar

Claudia S.

Yelp
Flavor was different. I wasn't thrilled. Shop is cute. Parking is scarce. The young woman working there looked like she'd have more fun if she were tearing out her braids. She had the most annoyed look on her face, and didn't so much as crack a smile at any customers. I've had a better experience getting vaccinated. Won't be back.
google avatar

Craig W.

Yelp
Persian ice cream shop? Heck yeah. I don't know why Persians make such good ice cream but you're a fool if you don't take advantage of it. They've got the usual suspects (chocolate, vanilla, whatever) but they also have concoctions made with rosewater, pistachio almond, and other ice creams with exotic ingredients. This is very high quality ice cream and it's delicious. And a free private parking lot? Are you kidding me? I would come here just to experience a free private lot in L.A.

Yelp
This ice cream joint was a total miss for me. Normally with so many reviews I'm not disappointed but they simply do not have good ice cream or ambience. The location is in an unwelcoming plaza but even when I entered I did not want to stay long. I thought the limitation on sampling was odd. I'm sure they have their reasons but it's not something I have witnessed prior and just gave me a stingy feeling. The quality of the ice cream was not remarkable and best described as bland. And this goes for several of the flavor offerings as we dined with a group so I sampled a few. Pretty much a grab and go spot but too much competition in the surrounding area to even compare. In terms of the Persian ice cream, I was expecting something more authentic but no. Not impressed

Yelp
I went to Mashti Malone's on La Brea based on a recommendation from a friend. I had a hard time choosing between all of the great and unusual flavor options they had. I ended-up ordering the Saffron Rosewater, Orange Blossom and French Lavender. The Saffron Rosewater had the right balance of Saffron with just a hit of Rosewater. Rosewater can be really overpowering so this was a pleasant surprise. The Orange Blossom was light and subtly flavored. The French Lavender was Rich, Creamy and you can tell they used a very high quality Lavender in their recipe. I can't wait to go back and try many more of their flavors. The staff was friendly, efficient and happy to let us sample a few flavors. We were able to find parking in the small lot in front of the store. Open late. Once you try Mashti Malone's you will be a devotee!

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place, as it is always on the list of best ice cream in Los Angeles. I found the Persian ice cream flavors to be interesting to taste, but I did not want a whole scoop. When I got a whole scoop of chocolate ice cream, it was not anything special

Yelp
Mashti Malone's is worth the drive from Orange County (or even San Diego, I would argue) -- especially for the Alphonso Mango ice cream. But please, please make sure you get it served in a cup. The waffle cones always call my name, but trust me, there are better waffle cones elsewhere and this ain't what MM is known for. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and very generous with the sample platter prior to making a decision. Fair warning, a single scoop is really two scoops, and no split single scoops allowed. Can't wait to pop by this cute corner shop when I am back in the Central LA area!

Yelp
Tucked away in a corner lot 2 blocks away from Hollywood Blvd is this place of yumminess... I had the 14 herbs that tasted phenomenal just delicious. The coffee ice cream was very rich and refreshing. If you want tasty vegan or sorbet this is your place. Staff was super friendly too
