Visited this charming restaurant with my partner for our wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed.
Located above a Loft department store just a few floors below it, we were surprised at how they managed to set up such a beautiful and mesmerizing space within the confines of a generic shopping building.
The cozy atmosphere coupled with the spectacular night view of the city was an interesting experience and made us excited for what’s to come. For our visit this time, we went with their 14,500 yen course, which is the cheaper option next to their most comprehensive course (which costs 19,000 yen).
Firstly, the tapas were phenomenal and creative. Rustic flavors yet modern in presentation. Every new bite was a fun adventure on its own.
Everything in between afterwards - the entrées and main dishes - were all solid and nothing missed a beat. I was served a venison due to dietary restrictions (you’d get a super tasty-looking pork otherwise), and it was the softest venison I’ve ever had so far - incredible mouth-feel and taste.
Lastly, the desserts and the sweets at the end was an amazing send-off from our 3-hour long meal. We wanted more of the pineapple jelly cubes that we had. It was probably the highlight of that final section.
As part of our anniversary, they also gifted us with a congratulatory card presented on a candle-holding contraption, which was so sweet and unexpected, and a gesture we highly appreciate (was expecting a message written on a plate like how most restaurants usually do it, but we liked this better as it allowed us to bring the card home).
I cannot praise enough the quality of the service as well - our servers were professional, thorough, equipped with great attitude, and the waiter that served us, Masahara-san (sorry if I got your name wrong!), spoke fluent English, which I think most foreign visitors would appreciate. As we left, we were greeted out by the head chef, Chef Mateu, who gifted us small packets of their (homemade?) candy - it was a treat and we’re so grateful for this level of hospitality.
Overall, this was one of the best upscale, fine-dining restaurants we’ve been to in Tokyo in terms of both quality and value, and we would definitely come back again just to experience it all over again. Thank you Masia team for making our first wedding anniversary dinner one that we won’t soon forget!
