Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever

Best place in Hollywood to get away in peace. The view and serenity is awesome. I've been coming here since 1993 and saw a dramatic change for the best here since Tyler and Jay restored it . Respect 💯

This has to be the most insane concert venue, ever. I didn’t know it existed until a couple weeks ago, and just so happened to catch my favourite artist there while we were both in town. Parking was free, secure and plentiful - you literally park within the gated cemetery. This place felt surreal, beautiful and only a tad bit spooky. What a treat it was to not only catch a show here, but such a small and intimate one with an artist I love so much. To my ultimate surprise, they also had probably the nicest, cleanest and most private bathrooms I’ve ever experienced at a concert - total bonus. This goes down in my mind as a once in a lifetime experience, hands down. It’s something I’ll be sharing with friends for ages.

Wonderful, intimate venue. Reasonably priced drinks, ($8 for a beer? in this economy? I just paid nearly $30 for a drink at the Greek Theater a few weeks ago). Nice large smoking area. Chill staff. But as others have pointed out, the concert room gets HOT. Seems like there's no ventilation or air moving around in there at all, so be prepared to sweat a bit. You might want to bring a sweatshirt to wrap around your waist so that you're not wet and freezing on the way back to your car.

Quite an interesting music venue. Right on a cemetery and seems like a church. I saw an intimate show here and that was really nice. Gender neutral bathrooms, semi long stairs for the entrance and they also served some drinks but not a full bar.

Got there early so was able to secure seating on the side while still having the option to stand up. Also, took a break from the show and spent time in a large adjacent ballroom with comfortable chairs and drinks being served. A Great& Classic atmosphere!

Love it, love it, so mesmerized by this lodge and for presenting an awesome artist like Brooks Nielsen 👏 Very clean and well kept venue for the years it's been standing.

This place is absolutely amazing, definitely an out of this world experience. Small but perfect!! We saw Blind Pilot and they put an amazing performance. I highly recommend this venue.

Intriguing venue! Was here for a comedy show and I enjoyed the bar setup & decor. Security was firm but personable and helpful. Bathrooms are a little small, but that's to be expected in a more intimate space like this. They were still clean. The only downside was it got pretty hot in the main event room, and it seemed like they only had plug-in fans around to circulate air. Luckily being in SoCal the night weather is decent! Would return for another show here

I attended the Nao concert at the Masonic Lodge this past week, and it was an incredible, intimate experience. The venue is located inside the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which also hosts a large outdoor concert space. I've previously attended shows by Jorja Smith and Giveon at this location, so it's clear the space is versatile. Since the concert was on the smaller side (around 200 people), we were able to park directly on site so that was a major plus since parking is hard to find in this area. Security were available to guide us to the right areas and staff were friendly. I got there about two hours early, which allowed me to secure a spot close to the stage. so close I could practically see the Nao sweating! The acoustics was pretty good but it's a small space so the sound was great. The venue offers plenty of standing room, but there are also some bolted booth seats along the side walls and balcony seating, which is perfect for those who prefer not to stand or have a disability but still want a great view of the stage. (Note: there are about 30 steps to get into the venue so please be mindful for those who have a disability Overall, it was a fantastic and intimate experience, and I would definitely return.

I've been exploring Hollywood Forever and attending Cinespia for over a decade, and I'll be buried here (I've pre-purchased a cremation package and mausoleum niche) - but I didn't go to an event at the Masonic Lodge until this past May. I'd always heard of it, but I didn't even know where it was! It's in the main building that appears to be just offices next to the entrance, across from the gift shop. It's a small venue with a lovely, dramatic rafter and chandelier design. People always say they go to "concerts" here, but with the intimate stage space, it's more like a party where you're hanging out in a room with people playing music. Since a lot of the Lodge's events are held in the evenings, you'll get a glimpse of the beauty and serenity - and haunting peacock wails - of the park after dark. Come for the night or stay for eternity - there's no place in the world like Hollywood Forever.

This venue was so rad. It's so funny because you wouldn't even realize this place is here since it's located in such a random part of Los Angeles, which likely has to do with modern construction but once you enter it feels like a whole new place. The cemetery it is located in is filled to the brim with Hollywood history and the venue itself is beautifully constructed. The interior is nice and warm with carpet filling the rooms. Audio here is fantastic, likely having to do with the acoustics involving the carpeting as well. It's not very large to so it's perfect for smaller more intimate shows. Parking is also free which is a plus, and I recommend coming early to explore the grounds. Overall I want to come back. This place is easily top 5 venues in LA for me now and I want to see more acts play here.

Fun! Intimate! Free accessible parking! In a graveyard at night! Cmon it doesn't get cooler than this. Sound was good. Bar was affordable. All ages even! Can't wait to see another gig here

I have been to the Masonic Lodge at The Hollywood Cemetery a few times prior for some concerts. This review focuses more on this particular event I was fortunate to get a ticket for recently. Continuing with spooky season activities, I got a free ticket for a screening of 'My Best Friend's Exorcism' that was thrown by the Amazon Prime Video and Cinespia. The event was so great! Free popcorn / soda, a photo op with a recreated room (set), photo booth, free Pizza Hut personal pan pizza and froyo. Just like the movie, the event was dripping with nostalgia. On top of all that, everyone got a backpack with a book, classic candy, and a disposable camera. I was just in awe on how well everything was decorated. just walking in felt so cool. All the folks working to help put this event together and working the event itself we're super nice and made you feel very welcome. The movie itself was set in the 80's and obviously targeting fans of YA novels, so it was overly cheesy, but LOTS of fun with some laugh out loud moments! The parking was included with the tickets so it was very easy as well. The area itself is pretty tough when it comes to parking, so I totally appreciated being able to park on the premises. Just a fun filled, awesome night that I'm going to remember for a very long time along with being able to watch a great movie. I love going to the movies, so this event was as good as it gets for me.

A great venue to see live music. Get there early and you can grab a seat along either side. Capacity is around 300. A table in the lobby sells beer and wine, as well as soft drinks and water. There around about 5 bathroom stalls and it's a unisex bathroom. Very chill vibe.

Amazing place to see a show, easy parking and impeccable vibes. Full bar, hangout space and the hall is beautiful inside and out.

My sister and I came here to see FINNNEAS on 10/18 and we had an incredible experience! First off, the parking was free. That is definitely a plus for any concert you go to in LA. We parked in a small lot by the cemetery which was a short walk to the masonic lodge. The fact that it is a cemetery gave it a spooky feel but it was cool at the same time. We walked up the stairs into the venue and were shocked at how small and intimate it was!! Like so small, the bathrooms are only one stall for men's and one for women's. The lighting and sound for the show were incredible. The only issue was that it was a little hot. But other than that, we had an incredible time and I hope I can come here again in the future.

So I am literally on the ride home from the venue as I type this, but I didn't want to forget to write a review. The masonic lodge is so beautiful, and (most of) the staff is so kind. Although, there was one security guard that kept badgering me (and others) for no reason. Must've been a rough night idk. He has curly hair and he is relatively tall... is he always rude? Besides the point. Anyway. Not only was the show fantastic but the masonic lodge & the cemetery, in general, are so beautiful. Would recommend seeing ANY show here, I was just lucky mine was Maya Hawke. You can be jealous. I was leaving at the same time as Maya and her dad, Ethan, and got to talk to them for a few minutes. Lovely night, and a lovely venue. Xoxo, Suki Dubs. (P.S. the photographer told me that if my feet hurt I should just take off my shoes bc the carpet was brand new and I did and it was the best decision I have ever made. The carpet is like you are stepping on a cloud. I the Masonic!)

I am happy to report they fixed the bathroom situation. They now have several unisex stalls. A small intimate venue where you get to see artists. I've been been to seated and standing shows. On seated shows they put chairs and but I prefer standing. The show area is on second floor which you access through outdoor stairs. I did not check for elevator access but I imagine they have it but would check with them to confirm. They do offer drinks in lobby area, beer and wine in show I've gone to. Staff are helpful and keep order since small space and need access. You can't beat the parking. I think they have small lot but in times I've gone I've found plenty parking in cemetery. Makes for a unique experience. Air system felt decent in back but can get a little warm. If you have an artist that you like coming out here, highly recommend you check them out here. Buy tickets early since small and will sell fast.

Great venue, beautiful building in a cool setting at HF. For will call you line up outside by the ivy wall until they open the doors, then you file in and get your tickets- for us just checked in, no paper tix. They sell beer, wine, soda, and water in the lobby near the merch tables. If you don't want to get kicked or shoved by moshers stay towards the edges, and if you want sit, there are upholstered benches on either side- very comfortable and a nice slightly elevated view. It gets really hot with a big crowd, dress accordingly! Parking is free around the cemetery but they are strict about when you can arrive and park, we had a 7:30 show and we're able to park from 6pm on.

Great place to see a show but get here early for best parking and best location to the stage. There was no seating for my show but there are 2 cushioned benches that run the length of the room on either side of the main floor. There was a balcony with seats but it was only open to invited guests (family and friends of the band). This place reminds me a lot of the Fonda Theater (also in LA), but smaller. Free parking and with water being only $2 a bottle, they don't gouge you either. Neat experience!

Here for Beth Orton Sept 2023. The fan experience here sucks! Online it said doors at 7 and show at 8. We got here at 7:30, waited in line till they let us in the first room at 8 which was another line we could wait in to get a drink, we got a drink and now waiting in our third line to get into the concert room. It is 8:45 and we are still waiting to get in to the room the concert is supposed to happen. This is super annoying and if someone had said to me, when you come you will need to wait in line for 2 hrs, I would never had bought this ticket!

What a cool place!! I was one of 150 people in the room to watch Billy Corgan perform! What a treat it was!! The venue itself is located inside the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Parking is free (what? in LA?! Free?! Yes!!) and everyone at the venue was kind. As we walked upstairs into a large ballroom-type area, we saw the refreshment area. Water, soft drinks, beer, and wine were on the menu. Wine was decent and decently priced; I mean, it's overpriced for what it is, but that's to be expected. It could've been worse! The room where Corgan performed was set up with chairs, as it was a quiet, intimate performance, rather than a more rocking one. Not a bad seat in the house! Beautiful decor, great sound, everything was great. The one down side of this spot is the restroom situation. There is a single man's stall and a single woman's stall--shared sink. Line city!! But, everyone was quick and courteous. Here's hoping another artist I love decides to perform at the Lodge!

We had a lovely evening at the Masonic Lodge for Meow Meow's recent performance with Thomas Lauderdale and members of Pink Martini. The performance space is intimate, so all the seats were quite close to the stage. Free parking is out of the ordinary for Hollywood and was greatly appreciated. If I recall correctly, the bar offered only wine and beer. For reference, there is not an ATM within the building, but there is one nearby on the Hollywood Forever property (the bar took cards but we needed cash for Meow's merchandise.)

Well, we've been here over an hour in line, and the band is getting ready to play. Probably 300 people still outside. I bet the band is wondering where everyone is - we're still outside! Not sure what the issue is, but it's NOT fan friendly, unlikely that I'll come back here for another event. I hear it's nice inside, but may never know : ( Update, finally got in after an hour and a half. There are only two toilets available for the 600 or so people here, not two bathrooms, but two physical potties, one for men, the other for woman, people were very polite about it, but really? Really can't recommend this place.

I was lucky enough to attend one of the Billy Corgan shows here recently. I got there an hour early and waited in line, and it was definitely worth it because it's first come, first serve and I ended up in the second row, no more than 8 feet away from one of the most important rock stars of the last 25 years. It felt like a band practice in someone's living room. There's a balcony area, and definitely no bad seats in the house (I think capacity is 200), but I always prefer to be close. This room is literally at a cemetery, which felt oddly appropriate for a Corgan gig...the creepy vibe added to the experience. He has so many songs that touch me. Seeing those songs stripped down in such a tiny intimate setting, able to see his emotions change at various points of songs up close, was intense & special. As others mentioned in reviews, it gets really hot in that room, even at night. But that's rock n' roll...if you're not sweating, you're not rocking. Parking is free at the cemetery after 6pm, which is a huge bonus considering how hard it can be to park in Hollywood. In conclusion, this is an amazing place to see an artist you even remotely care about. It doesn't get any more intimate than this.

Came here last night to see Greta Van Fleet for a small show they did as the Apple Music Up Next artist. This venue was smaller and more intimate than I thought, which actually made the show even more amazing. I was right in the front row. Personally, I like the atmosphere of the place. Gives some good spooky halloween vibes with the way they lit the place. The place does have an old dusty attic kind of smell, but I think that kinda goes with the aesthetic. I would definitely come here again for another event!

The vibe here was so intimate and cozy. I loved the environment. The nearby cemetery gave it an interesting feel as well. Highly recommend this place!

the bald guy who works at the concert i went to was so rude. he started yelling at the people entering the concert and calling them names and cussing in front of everyone. y'all need to fire him for horrible customer service.

Every experience I've had in the cemetery of Hollywood Forever has been magical, but I hadn't actually been to the Masonic Lodge until recently. It lives up to the majesty of the rest of the cemetery. Seeing a show here doesn't feel like you're at a concert hall. It feels like you're at your rich friend's house, and I mean that as a compliment. The interior is classy, with a dining hall and bar area to hang out and talk before and after a show. The actual performance space is very intimate, and the walls are even lined with couches. Sound quality is spot-on too. Best of all, events in the lodge offer free parking, which is unheard of.

We were twenty minutes late to seeing Erin and Bryan perform Throwing Shade Live at the Masonic Lodge at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It was the evening so I wasn't able to see a whole lot of detail. But what the moonlight could reveal, it was a beautiful and eerie cemetery. There are tons of headstones and statues all over the lawn and palm trees line the curved streets. The cemetery is very large. It is easy to get lost trying to go into the entrance to get into the lodge, and not the cemetery offices. We were able to locate a parking spot but had to walk a distance back to the entrance to the lodge where show was already in progress. The lodge has a small courtyard with more palm strees and some seating. We walked through the 1st floor entrance into the lodge and up the stairs to the small intimate main room. As mentioned, we were late so we stood in the back next to the sound table. If one was sitting, the view is great no matter where. But I wish there was more room for chairs. Also, it was very warm. As Erin said, "can you turn up the heat? Thanks?" The sound was fine. I was able to hear my two favorite podcasters clearly. However, the sound also picked up noise from outside the room, so when someone went to toss their cans, the audience could hear that too. That was a little annoying. After the show, the audience filled into the "Easter room" which was a LOT cooler in temperature than the show room. The walls are bare but I liked the decor of few seats that were available. They were very 40's style and fit the old school feel of the cemetery. But again, I wish there were more seats. Exiting the cemetery is easy. Just drive straight, following the road and around back to the entrance. I think I would come back to see some other bands play for a more intimate experience but will leave the cardigan at home. Oh, and for the pokémon trainers, no Gastlys were seen.

Just saw Jacob Banks here! I drove after work, in 4 hrs of traffic, from San Diego to see this show and it was easiest on of the greatest things I've done. Not only is Jacob Banks EVERYTHING AND THEN SOME, this lodge is so small and intimate, it is an absolute gen for music goers. I still can't wrap my head around seeing such amazing show right in a famous cemetery with the Hollywood sign seen in the distance. It's incredible. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

One of the more interesting venues in los angeles, the masonic lodge is a cool place to see bands, if even to check it out one time. Saw th great J Mascis set there and the sound was great for an acoustic set. I'd be hesitant to hear something loud- mostly because i don't know that the sound can handle it. Parking is a blast, head out toward the dead people and plan on saying, "pardon me" a bunch as you try to walk among them. drinks were kind makeshift, can't tell if they actually have a legit working bar. came across like the drinks at disney concert hall. since i only had coke in can i can't say much- but in saying that i am probably saying enough. gets crowded and hot, but the shows are short and curt there, so chances are you won't bake completely.

Have to agree with the previous 2-star review. Saw William Patrick Corgan here and he was amazing, and the sound system was decent. It sounded good and at a proper, not-deafening volume, but nothing great. It was solo acoustic so I doubt it would sound as good loud & electric. Everything else was horrible. Previous reviewer is correct about there only being two toilets, don't see how that's even legal. Their "bar" is just a woman standing at a table with some soda and beer, no hard liquor, it looked like a high school party. I think there was air conditioning in the auditorium but if there was you couldn't feel it. It was very stuffy and 85º or so the entire time. Granted, the show was sold out, so it'd probably be fine with only 50 people or so, but not with hundreds. Also, "sold out" is more than they have seating for. There were many people, including me, having to stand the entire show in the back, so get there early if it's sold out. When we arrived an employee just said to follow the cars in front of us and we parked on a thin street in pitch black darkness and had to find our way to the Lodge, walking over graves. Concert was still worth it for rock-god Mr. Corgan, but otherwise I'll never go back here.
