The 20 Best Restaurants in Reykjavík, Iceland | Eater

"This diminutive eatery, located on increasingly happening Hverfisgata Street, shifted focus away from its original Nordic-Italian concept and now serves a collection of seasonal small plates that don’t fit in neat little boxes. There are dishes like grilled pork belly with wasabi grown in the East Fjords, a selection of lunch-only tacos on house-made flour tortillas with fillings like scallops with mole, and an innovative list of original cocktails." - Nicholas Gill

We’re staying in Reykjavik for end caps of our visit, and saw this place had great reviews and were very intrigued by the menu. What an amazing meal! Our waiter, Ayrton, was a real gem. The food was 10/10. We split the burrata, the baked cheese Wellington, and the teriyaki artic char. All were literally amazing with wonderful flavors, the flavoring highlighted the meal and everything was so well done. We also enjoyed the music playing and the general ambiance. Would 100% dine in again, highly recommend.

Simple dishes, yet complex flavour combinations that hit the spot perfectly! Incredibly sweet and knowledgeable waiting staff made us feel so welcome! Highly recommend!

Had I not been in Iceland I would have thought I was going to be in an episode of Bar Rescue. Service was horrible. We had to flag down a server for every request from placing our order to water to the check. We had a reservation and it was not busy. I’m not sure how this restaurant rates so well. The food was average, presentation was nicely done.

We got the arctic char with potatoes and it was delicious! The place is nicely designed and all the staff were so helpful, friendly and professional. They have a great wine list and cocktail menu. I would definitely come again!

Two years ago, this place was one of our favorite discoveries in Reykjavík. We visited multiple times and left with great memories of the atmosphere, service, food, and drinks. That’s exactly why we made a point of coming back this year. What we found instead was a complete collapse in standards. The music was obnoxiously loud and tasteless, destroying any sense of atmosphere. The service was careless and deeply unprofessional. At one point, the cook was pouring beer from the tap and drinking it in front of customers, already unacceptable. Moments later, when I tried to move my plate slightly closer, the same cook yelled at me: “Don’t touch it, that’s hot as …. fill the blanks with cursing words !” Completely inappropriate, aggressive, and shocking behavior toward a guest. The menu failed to properly list ingredients, which is not just inconvenient but dangerous. Because of allergies, we had to leave our food untouched. On top of that, a couple walked in at 8:05 pm on a Wednesday and were told the bar was closed right in front of us creating an awkward and unwelcoming atmosphere.(the bar closes at 9pm on wednesdays) It’s astonishing how quickly a once-great place can be ruined by bad management, poor taste, and a total lack of professionalism. What used to be a highlight of our trip has turned into a place we would actively warn others to avoid !

Very nice place to drop in for a bite. Food is superb. Best dish I’ve had in awhile. Staff are friendly and atmosphere relaxing.

We had the most gorgeous cocktails here, the Mixologist Lawand went above and beyond to explain his vision for his twist on a Negroni. So glad we mamaged to try this one, I'm in love with the hibiscus foam!

For an unbelievable culinary experience STOP HERE! Every single dish ordered was better than the prior one. Service was attentive, client focused and polite. Possibly the best meal I've had in years. If you're visiting Iceland, make sure you stop here for an excellent meal.
