Stopped on my work break (since it was close) and was pleasantly surprised! The interior of the store is very clean and aesthetic. I got the creamy mango matcha and it was a delicious pick-me-up! The mango isn’t overpowering which is nice.

The service was great! I order the Go’ in Bananas and the Famous Matcha Cookie and both were really great! I wish they had more of their menu items but it was still great. Angel was of great service and was very helpful!

Amazing food and drinks! The banana with oats sounded interesting, so I decided to try it and ended up finishing it before I could get a photo. It was delicious! Employees were friendly and the duck salad I ordered was fresh and crispy. It was my first time trying duck! Looking forward to returning to try more items on the menu.

I ordered 2 drinks online at 2:34pm and the app said it was ready for pick up at 2:45pm. I got there earlier than expected but still didn't get my order under 3:20pm. There was only 1 lady making the drink, 1 at a time. It wasn't even that busy. I ordered a hot drink and it came out lukewarm. It's a cute cafe but the service was unfortunately very lacking.

Super cute space in Sawtelle! I got their regular got matcha latte and it was great! I do prefer stronger/ more matcha flavor, so I may try something else next time. But this was a solid find :)

I had the pleasure of visiting Matcha Village recently, and I just have to give a shoutout to Janice, who made the experience exceptional. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with warmth and enthusiasm, which immediately made me feel welcome. Her deep knowledge of matcha was impressive—she took the time to explain the different options and helped me choose the perfect drink based on my preferences. Not only was Janice incredibly friendly and approachable, but her attention to detail and passion for what she does really stood out. My matcha latte was absolutely perfect—smooth, flavorful, and made with care. It's clear that she genuinely cares about the quality of the drinks she serves and the customers she interacts with.

Where do I even start… the customer service right as you walk in was amazing. I felt as if I was welcomed home after going to war for 5 years. The friendly owner was so charismatic and passionate about her product. The man at the register was very helpful aswell, teaching us the menu and the intricate flavors that each drink holds. The wait was very short and the quality of the products were fabulous. We got the banana flavor matcha, the dragon ball, and the duck crepes. The flavors were there and we will definitely be coming back to this location every time we pass by!

It's one of my favourite places to get Matcha. The ice cream portion is very generous! The desserts are delicious. They are a little bit on the sweeter side, but I don’t mind that sometimes. There are so many drink options and savoury dishes, too! The staff are incredibly kind! The restrooms are clean. The only thing is that there are only a few parking spots available. Thank you so much for a beautiful service and experience!

Delightful matcha shop with a good selection of both matcha and non-matcha drinks. There's also a food menu that includes snacks like onigiri, mochi churro, cake, etc. I ordered My Dirty Secret, which was Belgian dark hot chocolate drink that was absolutely delicious! Not too sweet or too creamy. My boyfriend got a Lavender Honey Matcha Latte, which was also pretty tasty. Sadly the mochi churro was sold out when we went, but planning on getting that next time. The shop itself is spacious, has ample seating, and is decorated with cute boba plushies. Parking is relatively easy to find in the attached structure. Ordering is easy through a kiosk or at the front register. Employees are friendly and eager to answer questions. Overall, I recommend this place for anyone looking for a yummy drink and a light bite to eat!

Literally threw away the hot drink after 1 sip & tried to drink the cold matcha but ended up throwing it away as well. We got the regular matcha & the hot white tonic. It took 20min for both drinks. Inside is cute & has good seating & parking is easy. The workers are nice but not worth the disgusting watery matcha that had no flavor. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

Unfortunately, poor quality and flavorless matcha and steep pricing. Would have expected much more for a store with matcha in the name and located in such a prime area. Service was friendly and prompt. The space is aesthetic and well-decorated and located on Sawtelle in close proximity to other shops and parking structure. The iced matcha latte tasted mostly of milk with an earthy aftertaste and didn't have much matcha flavor at all. It is especially disappointing given the high prices. Surprised by the overall reviews; as some have speculated previously, may be due to prior offers of free products for reviews, or may have been there on an off day.

Long wait 15 minutes for a simple matcha latte, even there's no other customer. The reviews were good maybe due to the free matcha you get if you gave good reviews. The matcha latte was mediocre.

The service here is extremely slow despite there being self-serve kiosks. Cashier asked if customers were ready to order even though everyone just ordered off the kiosks which didn't make much sense to me. Got the matcha mega tornado and honestly wasn't anything special and was somewhat overpriced. The strawberry matcha was also not really good and just tasted like strawberry water.

I was pretty disappointed in this place after seeing how nice the interior and reviews were! I got 2 drinks: the Matcha Coconut Dragon Ball Z, and I forgot what it was called and can't find it on the website but a mango matcha drink. Expecting a strong matcha flavor and a good sweetness to it. The drinks were both extremely watery and very flavorless. The special oats in the Matcha Coconut was also an unpleasant flavor that in my opinion did not complement the drink. Very strange combination that I personally did not like. The Matcha Mango drink was just not flavored and watered down. Both drinks were also barely sweetened and tasted very bitter. Maybe the matcha got burnt? Overall I personally did not enjoy both the drinks I got and ended up throwing away an almost full drink because it was personally not it. Try it if you want! The cafe is really big tho, so perfect place for studying as they have WiFi and food. I would want to come back to try something else or even the food. But with my experiences with these 2 drinks I would give this place 2 stars.

There was only one poor girl working at this location this morning. I felt so bad for her, a homeless person came into the location and was doing some weird stuff and I could tell the barista felt scared. If they had at least one other person working, she wouldn't be so overwhelmed making so many drinks and she would have probably felt slightly more safe. At least a manager should be there with her, no person would ever be working a shift alone in this part of town. The girl working did very good for the situation she was put in. Leaving a review because management needs to do better. We got matcha and thai coffee which were just average tasting. Probably wouldn't come here again.

Very close to a parking structure right next to Marshall. It's located on the packed "foodie" area of Sawtelle Blvd. Was here for the award winning 69 matcha crepe cake but they were out. So opted for the matcha tiramisu and a drink. The quality of the matcha was great. However, all of the drinks are more on the sweeter side since we tried the dirty secret (basically an innovative hot chocolate with matcha foam on top), the signature matcha drink, and a milk tea. The tiramisu is a little bit underwhelming. It looks great but the taste can't rival Lady M and other spots that I would highly recommend. It's a very chill spot that you can take your friends here to chat or just work on your computer here. When we were there, it was a two server behind the counter, self-service kiosk setup. Make sure you actually ask for the things you want to try because there are a lot of menu items missing currently on the kiosk.

I wanted to try a new place that I wouldn't or hadn't seen in the Bay Area, so I gave this place a try. The theme of the place looked nice! On yelp it said they opened at 8am, but when getting there around 11:45 AM the worker informed me they open at 12pm. When I got in I noticed a table with dried matcha stains and trash under it. Based off of the first impressions I assumed that maybe they're low staffed? Or maybe the time changed and wasn't updated? I am not sure, but I decided to give this place a chance... This is getting a 3 star from me, because the drink I got (rose matcha) was not good at all & the boba was tasteless and not cooked all the way thru. This was the first time I decided throwing an entire drink away. If I ever decide to come back to the area, maybe I can give this place another shot. The single staff I saw was nice and attentive.

I was so excited to come check this place out since I saw it on Yelp the last time I was in the LA area. Did a long run and decided to treat myself to a matcha drink afterwards. I ordered the mango and matcha drink since I thought it would be very refreshing. That was a bad idea. The drink felt so disjointed and it didn't go well at all together. The drink separated pretty quickly too, so you had to stir it before tryin. Aside from the taste, the consistency felt very off too. This was NOT the experience I expected at all. I took about two sips in my car and then had to trash it as soon as I could. I was so disappointed. Never going back again. I am so curious why this place has high ratings. Giving it 2 stars because at least the girl making my drink was super friendly and nice.

If you love matcha, you're bound to find something you love at Matcha Village. It's been my go to dessert spot whenever I find myself at Sawtelle. Everything in this cafe is very chic and stylish, from the decor, ambiance, and presentation of drinks and desserts. One of my go tos has always been the Matcha Crepe Cake. The cake has so many layers and it's always impressively good whenever I have it. There's a variety of savory and sweet desserts, and usually the portions are small and a bit expensive. The drinks are also quite good but can be hit or miss, I got their newer Rose Matcha Latte and it has a good balance of rose and matcha. My friend got their Strawberry Matcha Latte and it wasn't as good as my Rose.

Order the mango shaved and took over 30 min to come out even though there was only 1 other customer inside. Worst of all the lady was so concerned with taking a million photos and videos of my order, then she brought it to the other customer!!! Luckily they were kind enough to say that it wasn't there's. The shaved ice was good but doesn't compare to the terrible service

Unfortunately this place was disappointing in every way. The service was extremely slow and it took 50 minutes to get one drink, with just 7 drink orders in front of us. The waiting aside, the drink itself was very watered down and the matcha is tasteless. I will not be coming back.

Worst matcha drink I've ever had, ordered a banana matcha and they were out of banana... so I then got a strawberry one, terrible idea. My girlfriend also had a drink and took one sip and threw it away, she just got the basic normal hot matcha and it tasted just like hot water. 0 flavor. I've had matcha from probably over 20 different places and this one is the worst. Go to Starbucks it's still better than this place and not as expensive. $16 for 2 drinks that went into the trash.

Matcha Village is a matcha lovers dream! This spot is located in Sawtelle and parking can be found in the underground parking structure right next to the shop. They have such a variety of drinks, desserts, and even food options to choose from. I wanted to try the peking duck matcha crepe they have but they ran out of duck when I got there. I got the goin bananas drink and it really showcased how banana and matcha is a killer combination! They have a good amount of seating here and the shop is very spacious. Overall, the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area to get some more matcha and to hopefully try that peking duck matcha crepe!

Ahhh matcha village. My old go-to work delivery establishment. It's what the ratings say it is, a solid 4/5. You come here not because the matcha or quality is the best but because it's convenient, quick and open late. It gets the job done. We got the matcha coconut dragon ball-z and it's filled with slimy syrupy (oatmeal?). It's definitely different. The matcha is mild and not too strong. Maybe a bit too light for me. We also got the be my boyfriend drink which is a hot ginger matcha. (My go to). The ginger flavor is in the syrup so if you ask for it less sweet the ginger flavor will be lessened. Either way it's warm creamy and comforting. Ambience is nice. It's bright, and well decorated with traditional modern Japanese wooden aesthetics. Location is good as well as its walking distance to the Sawtelle strip with plenty of places in walking distance. TIP: if you park in the Michael's garage to the side parking is free with many spots. Opposed to spending too much time in the main sawtelle strip trying to find street parking which does get difficult at night. Food: 3.8/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 (tables little dirty)

I've had MATCHA love for Matcha Village since they first opened when I was an undergrad at UCLA. They specialize in matcha desserts and drinks, although I would highly recommend sticking with the 69 layer mille crepe cake and soft serve. I'm not a huge fan of their drink recipes (which haven't improved since they opened) and would recommend stopping by Sunright next door for better drinks. They're also a criminally underrated cafe study spot, with plenty of tables, comfortable seating, excellent free wi-fi, functioning outlets, free parking nearby, bathrooms and no crowds of college students. The only potential downside is that they don't have coffee-based drinks, although their matcha is definitely a solid (albeit less potent) source of caffeine. Service is always really nice and courteous, even to Karen's (which I've had the pleasure of encountering twice already at this location). I've seen the workers gift customers free items, which is really sweet and completely unexpected. Price point is a tad bit expensive (hence the low foot traffic), but definitely worth on some of their higher quality items such as their crepe cake!

I wouldn't recommend this place. Found it on yelp, We were excited to try. We were the only customers. It was around 10:40 am and ordered from the computer boards. Waited for our matcha teas outside. Went inside to see what was taking so long. After 25 minutes get our matcha tea. We were the only customers. When we were waiting inside, the lady who was making our drinks, stopped and took three ladies order and forgot about making our drinks. Never will go back. Bad customer service!!! I have never waited 25 minutes for a matcha tea!!! She made one drink at a time. We ordered four drinks. So disappointed at this place.

Very spacious and clean. Calm and quiet atmosphere with soothing music. There are 2 stands by the door for self orders. It seems there's only one person running the front and a cook in the back. Service is a little slow. Matcha is great. Rich and creamy. Decent size for around $8.

First time at Matcha Village, right at the corner of Olympic and Sawtelle. They have a pretty decent menu with drinks, shaved ice, crêpes, and crêpe cakes. Indecisive, I asked one of the employees what she recommended and she said that the Matcha Coconut Dragon Ball Z was the most popular drink so I went with that. I'm a big lover of really cold drinks so the one mod I would add is for extra ice. Other than that, it wasn't too milky or sweet-if anything I would go for less matcha powder next time. Come here for all of your matcha needs!

I'm on the hunt for the best matcha in LA, and oh boy, Matcha Village was NOT it. My partner and I got matcha drinks (Forever matcha and strawberry matcha latte), which in total cost about $19- not cheap. It took forever to get our drinks, and the place wasn't even busy: there were two girls working the counter, so I don't know how it could've taken over 20 minutes just to make two drinks. Taste-wise, my Forever matcha was just-okay; it tasted a bit too sweet and sort of like powdered matcha lattes I could get at Mitsuwa. Interestingly, it was served hot, even though I swore I'd chosen iced; the server was nice enough to give me a cup of ice to dump my hot Forever matcha into, but in the end, it just made it lukewarm. No bueno. However, the icing on the cake was my partner's strawberry matcha: it had an overwhelming amount of strawberry syrup and barely any matcha flavor. Even worse was a very strange, almost rancid aftertaste in the end, which was so bad that we had to dump it. Absolutely disgusting. I rarely give places under 3 stars, but sadly, Matcha Village was deserving of its two stars. My Forever matcha was kind of okay, which saved it from being one star. But that strawberry matcha was horrible, it took forever to get our drinks, and it wasn't cheap. I do not recommend the poor quality of drinks and service here.

Really love this spot. Came here for a Peking duck crepe roll which is kind of like a burrito with duck. Also tried their iced matcha latte with almond milk and love that too. Strong matcha taste which is perfect for summer. It's a casual ambiance in sawtelle, pretty close to Westwood so I would imagine it's popular with ucla students. Parking was straightforward too as they have their own lot which is covered and free. Free seating inside and good service. Grab and go spot or can stay here and do some work/ study.

The people here are super sweet and the store location itself was really cute, great place to sit down and chat with friends. Unfortunately i would reconsider on eating here two of my friends and i all got sick from their mochi churros :(

Wanted to stop by this location after having a nice hearty lunch. Perched on the corner of busy Sawtelle, we were greeted with an aroma of matcha that was incredibly soothing and heartwarming. The decor looked modern and felt very chic. We ordered an assortment of desserts including the matcha cream cheesecake and the 69 (lol) matcha Mille crepe. I ordered the White Queen's Tonic for myself as I am a huge fan of hot soybean milk and of course matcha. The crepe was light and also came with a coconut cream sauce that was delightful. The cream from the cheesecake was surprisingly airy as the initial impression made me think it would have been more dense. I really enjoyed the slight bitterness of the matcha powder with how sweet and warm the soymilk was. Definitely a great stop to make on a rainy day.

Cute little spot to grab a quick Matcha drink or snack. I got the matcha latte that was okay matcha-y. I think the biggest downside is there was quite a bit of ice in their drinks causing it to get really watered down and funny textured with the matcha powder towards the second half of the drink... that said: We used for yelp check offer to get a free drink and it was worth it! lol It has two outdoor tables and plenty of empty, well lit tables inside to do a bit of work.

Stumbled across this place as we were going back to our car and decided to pop inside foe a quick drink and some matcha ice cream. The lady behind the cashier told us to take our time as we looked over their extensive menu. They offer interesting drinks such as a banana matcha Latte and then they offer the standard strawberry matcha Latte and their classic matcha drinks. My husband got their matcha ice cream and when we got it we laughed. It looked...kind of like a butt lol but I figured that the person who made it was learning. No big deal we were gonna eat it anyways! But! The young lady who made ice cream beckoned us over and gave us another free cone because she felt bad that the design looked so bad! We thanked her profusely and took the ice cream. It's rich, creamy, not too sweet, and the charcoal cone goes nicely with it. I got their classic matcha Latte hot with 30% sugar in it. It's actually pretty good! I normally never get hot drinks...but why not on a cold day? It's smooth, a bit frothy on top, and wasn't as sweet as my husband declared (at least to me). Parking can be tough on the street...I'd try to park in the parking lot next door.

I tried Matcha Village for the first time last week and thought the matcha here was solid. The 69 Matcha Mille Crepe was good, although I wasn't a huge fan of the charcoal. The matcha latte was a little underwhelming unfortunately as it wasn't as rich as some others I've had. The ambiance inside is quite nice and the staff were quite friendly. Overall a solid spot that I'd visit again if I were in the area.

Very cute shop! I got the matcha cheesecake, 69 matcha layered cake, and classic iced matcha latte (reduced sweetness to 30%) with oat milk. The cheesecake was yummy, but didn't stand out to me like the cake. The star of the show was most definitely the cake! The white sauce on top of the cake was the cherry on top. The matcha latte was delish, it still maintained its matcha essence. My rating is kind of tricky in that service was not a 5/5. Orders were very slow to come out and I had to ask for one of my orders which must have been forgotten.

I'm trying to understand why this place is even known for their matcha? The Matcha was not very good, and might i mentioned that they don't even ask you any milk alternatives? I was not impressed with a Monica and we got the famous 69 layer crêpe. it's horrible. Please go to lady m a few blocks down. I'm just being very honest here! It was either just laying out for a really long time or it was poorly made. I don't know, but this was not of creep. The texture was very grainy, and you couldn't even taste the cream. But what really got me was a tiny sliver of strawberry that they added for the garnish. I will say that this place is very big and has outlet so you can study, but it is not worth going because the matcha here sucks. Also, one of the bathroom doors does not lock properly as someone tried to come in twice when I told them someone was in here. It was a worker, and she continue to wiggle the handle and it actually unlocked!

My family and I tried their matcha crepe cake a few weeks ago. It had an interesting texture, We couldn't quite place where the slight crunchy texture was coming from, but overall pretty tasty! The place is cute with lots of seating space and I can see myself coming here to work or hang out with friends.

I've lived down the street from Matcha Village since who knows how long, but for some reason I've never visited. Perhaps its because there are so many other places in the area. However, today, I was looking for a spot where I could study with a friend near me, recognized the name and decided to visit. There is parking in the big lot connected to the shop, which is perfect! It's a nice change from the other side of Sawtelle--where you need to basically fight for your life for a good parking spot. Walking into the coffee shop, it was so cutely decorated with plenty of seating available. Since my purpose of visiting was to do work, it didn't dawn on me until later how awesome the matcha variety in the desserts and drinks is was. Matcha is actually my go-to drink at other shops, so the fact that they have matcha ice cream, milk tea, cakes, and smoothies is great. This place is going to be one of my go-to spots now because the tables are a great one-seater size. I also happened to sit at a table with an outlet underneath (it was deeeep against the chair so I was half-crawling under the chair to get to it). The wifi worked well and the service was nice and friendly. Considering the fact that I'll probably be studying here for a couple hours at a time, the higher drink/food prices seem worth it for me.

Very friendly and attuned staff; the drinks were all phenomenal where you can't go wrong with either hot or cold drinks. Highly recommend getting the classic matcha with 30% sugar and with red bean, as well as the white queen for your queen!

I went to eat at Tsujita for lunch and was craving some boba. This was super close by, about a few min walking distance. I love matcha so I was glad to see all of the matcha boba options. I was torn between the coconut, tornado and banana drink, so when I asked the employee which was ordered the most, she said coconut. I'm so glad I went with her suggestion!!! There's no dairy except the foam top and the consistency is creamy and as expected coconutty.

Two young girls were operating the store- one was on her phone and hopefully it was with the manager . We came for ice cream and it came out very watery. Clearly machine wasn't functioning and paying $8 for subpar quality. Poor customer experience- waited 10 mins cause machine wasn't working and they didn't care to let us know. Since the ice cream was terrible condition, they should of offered to comp it and provid a refund. Manager needs to assist the team members and not leave them stranded and teach better customer experience and service. I don't blame the employees- manager needs to provide better training

Nice place, good atmosphere, good tasting desserts mango sticky rice is very nice and good tasting!

Overall: really cute cafe with super creative and elegant desserts. My main gripe with it being 5* is that the matcha desserts could use a little more matcha flavor but that is entirely my personal preference. Food: the only issue with the matcha swirl ice cream was that it wasn't matcha-ey enough personally as mentioned before. Otherwise it was extremely creamy reminding me of what I got in Hokkaido (not lactose friendly probably). Update: The free matcha latte for reviewing was actually so good. Definitely the matcha flavor I was missing in the ice cream! Matcha cheesecake was really beautiful to see and then break it down. The outside matcha cream surrounding the inner cheesecake was not too sweet like typical icing. The inside however was a very standard cheesecake with chocolate crumble? Ambience/Decor/Service: incredibly fast service and the ambience is really cozy for winter time. The decorations are incredibly elegant with plenty of seating.

Came on a Saturday afternoon, many seats and a very relaxed atmosphere. Order at the kiosk at the front. The matcha taste is rich and smooth. On the pricier side but comes in a big size that feels worth it. Would recommend the rose iced matcha latte!

We ordered 2 classic matcha lattes, one hot and one cold. Angel was helping at the counter and offered to make it less sweet for me. I love the bitterness and the drink he made worked well for me. I also tried their onigiri and it was served nice and hot though a bit salty. Overall, 4 stars.

I randomly stumbled upon this cafe. I got the matcha cheesecake and rose matcha latte. The cheesecake was absolutely amazing. I'm not a cheesecake fan, but I loved this. It wasn't thick like cheesecake normally is and it wasn't super sweet. The berries added a nice contrast to the matcha. The drink was good. Pretty standard matcha drink. The service was great. The girl who helped me was super sweet and brought me my order. The atmosphere was super cute. There were people there with their friends and others were there doing work. It was a cute place. It was perfect for me to read.

I normally enjoy the slight bitterness and tea flavor of matcha ice cream, but the one I got here was just way too bitter. Just unpleasant to eat. Texture was fine though. Also quite expensive here.

I ordered the peach milk tea, it was pricy at $8, but the cup is slightly larger than a typical boba place. It had peach pieces in it and was made of oolong tea with a house made cream milk. I liked the cream milk and it was good mixed into the drink, but I don't think I would order it again for how much it was. The servers were very friendly and the service was pretty quick. There were a few people at the tables doing work and they have free wifi, so I worked for a few hours and was able to be pretty productive. There is a lot of traffic with people coming in and out for drinks, but overall nice study ambiance and cafe music. They have plenty of tables and they probably fit around 2 people/table comfortably if they have laptops and drinks. My friends and I went around 4 pm on Sunday and about a third of the tables were free. I would come again to study and maybe try their crepe cake! But the thing holding me back would be the price of most of their items.

I really love matcha so I was excited to try this place out. We ordered the banana matcha latte and matcha crepe cake. The crepe cake didnt taste the greatest, didn't really have much flavor to it. The drink had a very overpowering flavor of banana. So it was hard to taste the matcha. Maybe they're known for their other drinks?

The photos looked so good so I wanted to try it out! Located on on Sawtelle with free parking center. We ordered salmon sandwich toast. This was by far my favorite item and was excellent. The bread was amazing with generous portions of smoked salmon, avocado, and seasoning. Highly recommend this. We also ordered the duck crepe roll. I liked the homemade crepe tortilla. This was lacking a bit in flavor. I wish there was more duck sauce throughout or offered on the side. I would probably not recommend this item. I got the matcha tornado drink with boba. At first they forgot the boba but it was an easy fix. It want to sweet and the boba was chewy. Pretty solid drink and I'm pleased with it but I would rate it amazing. Lastly the fried chicken fell flat. It looked like frozen chicken nuggets. Dry, unflavorful, and lacking. This was also the longest to come out with no sauce or seasoning offered. It was honestly worse than school cafeteria chicken nuggets. For the amount we paid for everything, I was highly disappointed since all items were quite high in cost. I do not recommend this at all I liked the decorations and interior but the chairs were so low compared to the tables. 4 stars overall because I liked some of the items and I believe there's room for improvement

I ordered the Classic Ice Matcha Latte ($7.05) and felt it was a pretty good drink overall. This was a refreshing drink and has a nice balance of matcha flavor and whole milk. I would like to try their other drinks but it is a bit on the pricier end with the fancier drinks about $7.50 to $8.50. I didn't get boba this time since it is also $1.25 extra. There is also plenty of seating inside and pretty chill vibe.
