I stumbled upon this gem of a coffee shop and was greeted by the warmest welcome from the owner, a lovely Argentinian lady. It's no surprise this place has only 5-star reviews on Google Maps; the atmosphere is cozy, the service is exceptional, and the traditional tea I ordered was absolutely delightful. It's clear why everyone loves this place—I'll definitely be coming back!

Everything about this place was great. The owner is so warm, friendly and welcoming. She explained through everything and the different flavour options of mate. The food was also incredibly flavourful and there are plenty of options to choose from. Highly recommend!

I've been going to this place for years! Gabriela's super cool and friendly, and she doesn't hesitate to make you try new stuffs! The food is just off the hook, grab a couple of empanadas and some pastries for some sweet treats. Add a traditional mate to feel like a true Argentinian!

I love this place. They serve authentic Argentinian food, pastries, and Mate drinks. I lived with Argentinians for some time and learned to drink traditional Mate- this place has all you need to have both iced and traditional mate! I sent photos to my friends in Argentina and they all said the food is exactly when they have in their cafes. I can’t wait to go back. The owner and staff are fun and very helpful.

The drinks and food here are delicious! I love the yerba mate with fruit, and it's a good price for a large portion. The empanadas and sweet bread are great as well. The customer service here is unparalleled, the folks here are kind and friendly.

I can tell you why after 300 reviews they still have 5 stars, it's the owner. She makes the place, she's charismatic and amazing at serving her clients. She's a sweet woman. I went there for the first time with my boyfriend and she explained the whole process of Mate to us. My drink was delicious, I got it cold with a mix of Mango, Piña, and Maracuya fruit puree. My boyfriend got it cold with vanilla sweetener and almond milk to still appreciate the strong taste. Not only is the service amazing, but the study vibes are immaculate. I think since it's near CSUN, students come here to complete their assignments. The home like atmosphere offers a perfect work space to get things done. Highly recommend.

A long overdue review... I've stopped by here a few times over the years to pick up some mate supplies and food. Today I was there to get an order of empanadas and was surprised by their expanded selection with the biggest surprise of empanadas árabes which i haven't found anywhere else. It f you've never been here you owe it yourself to come check it out. Have some mate or coffee and chill... it's like hanging out in your living room. Super cozy inside with the friendliest service around. Great lace to pick up unique Yerba Mate supplies in their small market area.

Headed by a lovely Argentine woman and her son(s?), I came here with a classmate the other day to do some work. The owner is super friendly and helpful, and she makes you feel like a valued customer always. It is a cozy space where you can meet friends or in my case (pretend to) do schoolwork while sipping on authentic mate. I then went back another day to try to buy yerba mate (the tea) and a corresponding mate (the gourd). The owner so helpfully taught me how to prepare mate the traditional way, all with a lesson on mate etiquette (never touch the bombilla!). If you are looking for a local business to support, this is one I would.

What a good find! A friend picked up Mate Conmigo on their way to my house and boy did they deliver the goods. I ordered an iced mate latte with oat milk and a beef and spinach empanada. The Mate hit the spot! Definitely had the rich flavor of traditional mate and not the fabricated sweet flavor of that canned stuff you see in the store. This is the real deal! The empanadas were delicious. The pastry was delightfully browned and the inside was full. The spinach was my favorite! I always like how they label the empanadas on the crust so if you order a bunch to share, you know what's what. I want to definitely come back for their traditional mate that they serve in house. Such a unique experience that you don't see just anywhere!

My mom and I decided to drive out a little further than usual to try this little cafe tucked in a shopping center of a busy intersection. We walked in and were greeted by Gabriela, who absolutely went above and beyond to make our first time there cozy and memorable. My mom tried the mate with peach (she loved it) and I had a hot latte. We ordered 5 empanada to share - an empanada tasting board if you will! Here is what we tried, in the order of my favorites: mushroom, chicken, arabe, rice, and spinach. I thought it was pretty neat how they had baked little initials on the corners of the empanadas to help differentiate the flavors (check out my photo) Each of them were packed with flavor. I am a meat eater but I must say, the mushroom was the best one. Perfectly seasoned and sautéed. The chicken was so juicy and shredded. The arabe (minced beef mix with lemon and onion) was lemony and tasty. The rice was good, but for me it was a little dry. I'm not a spinach person, but, if you like spinach, must try, it was pretty good! Overall, great service. Felt authentic and homey. Definitely recommend spending some time here and tasting all of their offerings. We had three different deserts at the end and they were all yummy!

Master YELP, for this establishment we need more stars. Seriously. This is a hidden treasure. My spouse and I were thinking about what to get for our Wednesday family evening to eat. So, my instinct led me to my PC and YELP of course. And there it was. "Mateconmigo". Not too far from my mighty MIL (mother-in-law ) house where we all met. The menu is fantastic. Especially for my vegan husband. He was so excited. He ordered by phone. He told me the lady who took the order was extremely nice and explained and answered every question he had patiently. When we drove there a few hours later it was obvious that they timed when the food was done because the empanadas were still nice and warm and fresh. That alone was a big golden star for them. My spouse went inside and picked them up. It was 2 dozen empanadas half of them vegan and the rest of all different fillings. And also 2 orders of ham and cheese sandwiches that held all together 6 sandwiches. And 1 more order of Tuna sandwich with eggs on rye that also held 6 sandwiches. The portions were huge. LOL The lady behind the counter asked my spouse if he was having a party. He said no. It is a family dinner for 4. LOL My spouse told me the lady at the counter was extremely friendly and welcoming. He thought it was the owner and mother of those 2 young men on the photo on their website. Once at home and ready to eat. The food was SO good. Those empanadas are out of this world. The very best I have ever had. And those sandwiches. My brother-in-law had the ham and cheese ones and MIL the Tuna were a huge hit. And the vegan ones. I seldom see my spouse so satisfied and happy with pick-up food so much. This place is a must-explore.

My favorite little Argentine cafe in the Valley ! This hidden gem has the best coffee and iced mate. It's so refreshing . My fave is the hibiscus iced mate . The pastries are brought in fresh daily and the empanadas are delish . Caprese and spinach are my fave . The owner makes you feel like family and at home . Lots of mate sets for purchase as well .

If I had to pick my favorite business in all the San Fernando Valley it would be Mate Conmigo every time! I first stopped by when I needed somewhere to study for my finals and I was delighted at how cozy the shop is-- not to mention that there's plenty of outlets throughout the whole store! Since my first visit I've come back almost once a week to do work, meet up with friends or just to grab some black bean empanadas (my favorite), because this spot truly feels like my home away from home. This is mainly due to the owner, Gabi, who makes everyone feel welcomed the moment they enter the cafe. She is so passionate about teaching her customers about mate and she is truly a pillar stone of the community-- it seems like a lot of customers stop by just to chat with her! My signature order is the vanilla mate latte with almond milk which I find has the perfect amount of sweetness (Gabi always offers to add more/less sweetness if you prefer it a certain way), and I love to pair it with empanadas from their vegan empanada menu. Mate Conmigo is so welcoming to their plant-based customers and I find that they're one of the only places in the valley where I can purchase a vegan snack to enjoy alongside my drink (though they have plenty of non-vegan treats, too). It's the little things like these that make this spot stand out to me! So for those looking for authentic mate, Argentinean coffee or pastries, or just for the perfect place to study, look no further than Mate Conmigo.

Absolutely enamored with this gem! Gabby, the owner, crafts irresistible Argentine empanadas and Yerba mate that captured my heart from the first taste. Just this week alone I've gone 3 times. The mango Yerba mate won me over, although strawberry remains my go-to. I will try out the other variations but something about the fruity touch entices me. Gabby's welcoming presence makes it my preferred spot for both studying and enjoying a homely cafe ambiance. Parking is also good here, another plus.

Best mate in the valley! All of the selections here are the best from the iced vanilla mate to all of the fruit flavored mate! I've been here 4 times in the last month. This has been a weekly staple for me now. Fresh yerba mate does not compare to the pre-packaged ones. They also have empanadas, sandwichitos, and pastries. Gaby is always so kind and has such lovely energy that adds happiness and joy to my mornings!

There is a nice vibe when you walk into Mate Conmigo. There are couches at the entrance and a elegant rows of seats, with fun people and a very friendly staff. The key offering at this cozy coffee shop is the Yerba Mate, a South American tea. You are offered a complimentary small paper cup for sampling. It has a unique and earthy flavor that is stronger than normal teas. It was the first time for me, I kinda liked it (and I am not a tea drinker). I came here to try their sandwichitos and empanadas. They were out the egg, tomato and cheese. So I had to settle for the tuna (which is mixed with hard boiled eggs, red bell peppers and mayonnaise). The sandwich is made from thinly sliced wheat bread and had a minute layer of the filling. During every bite, and most of the time, all I tasted was the bread. I am glad I only ordered one. For the Empanada, I had the Arabe empanada. This is unique in its shape and origin. As the name suggests, it has Arabic ancestry, originating in the Middle East, and brought to Argentina by immigrants. The empanada is baked. The beef mince filling is marinated in lemon juice before cooking. The texture was pasty and the flavor, if any, was very mild and unmemorable. I asked for any type of sauce to give it a kick and was told they had none. Service was good.

Love this place! Owned be a fellow Argentinean and you can tell it's authentic. Im not a mate fan in general but I do love the mate fruit juice. She's great about customizing it to my liking and offering suggestions. The empanadas are good too - caprese or beef and chicken are my go-tos. Love the factura options though it's definitely crucial to go early if that's what you want. My family loves sandwiches de miga and you can get a variety of fillings so there's something for everyone. Coffee is good too and I love the chill ambiance that's very inviting for enjoying all the food and drinks at your own pace. Highly recommend.

Cute!! I tried the iced vanilla mate (my first time trying mate!) and spinach empanadas. Everything was super yummy and tasted really fresh. I only wish some sort of sauce came with the empanadas. I'm a saucey girl ;) Would love to try more from this adorable cafe.

Amazing service (so friendly and informative!). I was given a sample of mate to try before ordering my drink. I had a hot vanilla mate latte and it was delicious. Also ordered a spinach and cheese empanada (so good!). Can't wait to come again and try their other drinks and empanadas. I overheard that they blend their own purées for their cold mates- definitely will be trying that next time, I just happened to come in on a gloomy day and wanted a hot drink. Ambiance was nice- there seemed to be many regulars!

Excellent chill and relaxing vibes here. A great place to come hangout with a friend, study, or just enjoy a morning read with mate and una empanada. Owner and sons are welcoming every time - whether first or fourth time! We were offered mate sample since it was my friend's first time at location. We ordered mate latte as well as iced mate with maricuya and once again, tasted delicious! Not sweet at all, tasted like real fruit - exactly what I hoped for. We ordered vegan and vegetarian empanadas to go (all were great) and enjoyed the sun in their outdoor table. Definitely will continue to come here! Its a jewel in the valley that makes one feel the good vibes of Latin-American hospitality.

This is my first time and I have to say it won't be the last. It's a small but mighty place. You will find different sweet bread, empanadas and sandwiches. Yes, they all have their own name but it was my first time to remember it all. The owner Gabby however, will be more than happy to tell you the history of each food option. I tried the chicken, and meat empanadas, sandwich and maracuyá with strawberries mate drink. Couldn't have enough so ended up ordering a dozen empanadas to bring home and have my family try as well. We all agree they have one of the best in the valley. So happy to have found this place, they have earned a new customer! If you are in the area please give it a try, you won't be disappointed. They also offer coffee and other types of cookies and it's such a chill vibe to come and do your work or study.

We love this place. If we could give this place 10 stars we would. Great place to work. The food is fantastic. It is typical Argentinian Coffee Shop with empanadas of many flavors and pastries, and the best coffee in the valley. The owner Debbie is kind and very welcoming.

Delicious and such great service! The honor of the shop is so sweet and so joyful to be there. You can sample the different drinks. I tried the mate latte which was yummy. My sister got a combo of the mango and pineapple which was refreshing. All the empanadas we tried were delicious

Meeting up with a fellow yelper and this was on her radar so we checked it out. Located just off of Roscoe Blvd & Tampa Ave in a small shopping center. The inside is adorbs with a few comfy couches in the front and tables against the wall. Several people were hanging out here on their laptops. Owner, Ruby, originally from Argentina, explained to me what Yerba Mate was all about. The traditional tea, a green tea, was seeped in a cup and a straw was places in the cup to sip the tea. A very strong and bitter taste on its own but the new trend is to add fresh puréed fruits, i. e. Peach, mango, watermelon, passion fruit etc. served on chilled on ice. I went with a hot Yerba mate latte made with vanilla syrup and oat milk. It was good. Not too sweet. My daughter ordered the cold Mango and my friend got the peach. Both were delicious. Gaby explained that you can mix the purred flavors as well. She was super friendly and went out of her way to accommodate us. She also has the most delicious empanadas!!! Very affordable prices here. Our 2 drinks and the empanada was around $10. We tipped her well. Highly recommend checking this place out!!!! *Plenty of free parking in the lot

first off, the owner is so so sweet and welcoming! my friend and i came in to work on some online classes and assignments and the owner was so nice about it. we ordered empanadas which were amazing and we already had coffee so we didn't try the mate yet sadly, but we will come back very soon to try the drinks. she insisted on us paying for the food when we were about to leave instead of paying right there and then which was really cool. the only con was that the vegan empanadas were made with peanut oil and my friend was kind of bummed out she couldn't get them because she's allergic to peanuts but she got the lemon beef empanada and the caprese one which she devoured! i got the mushroom, potato cauliflower, and caprese empanadas which were toasted to perfection! we loved the ambiance because it was perfect to study but it did get a bit busy after 3pm but it didn't really bother us. we stayed there from 12:45pm to about 5pm! definitely coming back soon!

Mate Conmigo was on my booked marked list for awhile and I was finally able to check it out! I love the adorable decor inside and they have couches and tables to enjoy all the delicious goodies. I met Ruby and she offered me a sample of some of their teas. I decided to go with a Peach Mate and it was delicious. I could not leave without trying one of their delicious empanadas. I ordered the spinach and cheese and I should have ordered more because it was one of the best empanadas I have ever had. I received a lunch card as well. If you get 9 drinks, your 10th one is free. Now that I've been here once, I can't wait to come back.

I walked in and knew immediately this was my new favorite cafe. The owner is SO sweet, charming, enthusiastic and prompt. The food is D E L I C I O U S !! Gabby, the owner, explained to me the Yerba maté process and mix ins and flavor profile - giving me a sample right away to show me the taste. Intimate hole-in-the wall, an awesome cafe to sit down and study at or just relax. I'm not a huge fan of coffee, but I love tea. So when I found out there was a place that specializes in yerba mate, I had to check it out. The first time I came in, I was greeted by the owner who gave me a sample of unflavored mate, and explained traditional mate customs. Afterwards, she gave me recommendations of what to get. You can have a fruit-flavored yerba mate, yerba mate latte, or just plain yerba mate to describe a few options. I noticed that they use real fruit puree to flavor the fruit mate, and you can even taste bits of fruit pulp while you drink. Additionally, the prices were excellent. The biggest drink I got was not more than $5. It feels great to be able to support a local business affordably. I had their arabe and caprese empanadas, which were delicious. I also saw the other food was reasonably priced. Again, the prices are great for the amount you get. They will even offer to warm your empanadas if you so choose. Lastly, this great place to study or get some work done. I noticed many students studying or doing homework during the day. All the tables seem to have outlet access which is hard to come by in other cafes. I was very pleased! All-in-all a great place to visit if you can! They offer stamp cards, letting you get your 11th drink for free. I have now happily become a regular.

If you like coffee and Yerba mate, mate lates and the like as well as all kinds of treats then you are in for a world of wonders. The service is beyond friendly and kind. You get the vibe that you're getting looked after No Nat what you order here. The atmosphere is far more comfortable and relaxed than a typical coffeehouse with big names. Great for a small meeting or a lovely date. This place is among my favorite local gems. I highly recommend supporting this piece of our local economy.

This is my favorite hidden (?) gem of the valley! Gaby and her sons are so kind and patient with their customers. The Mate is always good and she will always make sure you don't walk away with a drink you don't like. The empanadas are delicious (especially the spinahh cb and cheese & pbc), and the sandwichito's are perfect for a snack or meal! I love coming in to work, play Pokémon go, to eat, or just to get a mate to go.

Probably the best service I've ever experienced. The love for mate comes through. I got the traditional mate, alfajores, and 3 different empanadas. Everything was excellent. Would go again and recommend others to check it out.

I visited with the idea of just getting a sandwich but the nice lady working explained what Yerba Mate was, gave me a sample and it convinced me to try more. I drove over an hour to try this place. Service was amazing. A lovely woman explained all about Yerba mate with patience and care. You should definitely support this business and enjoy the art of slowing down while sipping some Yerba mate. I left with a bag of Yerba mate, knowledge, and a new found love for tea.

Where do I begin! Amazing service that makes you feel right at home, a sample before purchasing, and a great drink that gives you some natural energy. I ordered the mate iced with guava and it was amazing. I felt so drained and didn't want an energy drink from a gas station and stumbled upon this cafe that also serves pastries and empanadas. Highly recommend stopping in or studying here for a great and welcoming vibe that's very rare to find these days all while supporting a local business.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WOMAN !!!! me and my wife went into the restaurant for our first time today and it was absolutely magnificent! we were instantly greeted with a warm and homey atmosphere with an incredibly welcoming energy. The workers working were very kind and extremely knowledgeable and catered to every single need we had as first timers! they were very attentive and gave us personal attention to ensure that our drinks were at our preferred sweetness and the drinks were absolutely perfect! we accompanied them with some of their empanadas specifically the arabe ones and they were divine! definitely coming back and can't wait to try new things!

Mate Conmigo is a go to in my family. We love ordering all their yummy empanadas especially the árabe one, the mates hot and iced and the fresh facturas (pastries). Gaby and her wonderful sons are incredibly attentive, welcoming and efficient! You instantly feel at home walking into their space as they greet and care for you in such a genuine/warm manner. First time trying this place today and it was so delicious! The owners son was so sweet and explained what "mate" was to us and even gave us a sample of their caffeinated tea that was freshly brewed! Muy rico todo ! Las empanadas todas estaban deliciosas! Fue un gusto comer aquí!
