Matteo Ristorante Italiano

Finally got to try our Matteo’s after a customer recommended it. Our family runs a meat market and we are very choosy when it comes to eatting out. Firstly the atmosphere was lovely in and out, charming and romantic. Next, service: outstanding! The whole staff was kind, helpful and a team. We had Adrian who help guide us through the menu and make selections, we were not rushed and just got to enjoy. Finally the food! A great selection of various options homemade and full of flavor. Our favorites were the meatballs and the veal chop. We will be back.

We had an unforgettable anniversary dinner at this Italian restaurant! The food was absolutely awesome—authentic flavors and beautifully presented dishes that exceeded our expectations. The service was top-notch, thanks to Harley, who made our experience even more special with attentive and friendly service. To top it all off, we were surprised with a lovely gesture at the end of the night that made our celebration truly memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!

We went here for my birthday dinner and 5 stars across the board. Bruno was our server and he was so personable and knowledgeable about the food. Now onto the food, holy moly soooooo good. We got the whips Brie as the appetizer and my husband who isn’t a brie fan was in heaven. My husband got the bolognese and it was so delicious, I got the gnocchi and if I could give it 10 stars I would. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting authentic Italian, with a great experience on the side.

An excellent new addition for SLC restaurants … even better it is authentic, delicious Italian. Food (5 of 5): their menu is full of plenty options from start to finish. They seem also to be mixing it up with changes to the menu, and specials that actually change. This is a welcome difference from the limited menu options and infrequently changing specials that we often experience in Utah. Pictures are of their bolognese, risotto and gnocchi … all were authentic and delicious. Service (5): even though Matteo has only been open for about 10 months, the staff are clearly experienced and well trained. We always appreciate servers that thoroughly know the menu and that are able to make well informed, excellent recommendations. Some of the best service we have had in SLC, has been at Matteo. Atmosphere (5): Matteo managed to take a fairly boring box of a place (previously a juice/smoothie spot?) and turn it into a lovely Italian restaurant. The decor is well done with a genuine Italian family run trattoria vibe to it. Kudos to Matteo and his team for what they’ve created. We look forward to many more outstanding meals here. We have a new favorite Italian restaurant in Utah.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! The service was very friendly. The pasta was perfect and we loved the soups. Would come back.

It was my first time coming here and I got surprised by meeting an old friend who's sang Opera like an angel. I love hearing and seeing him! It was a blessing to see him again after so many years. I treated my friend for her birthday my waitress, food and the restaurant we're above my expectations. Everything was pleasant and enjoyable. I cannot wait to go back again! Also my mocktail was delicious! I also love they had vegan choices, and we're accomadating to add or take away anything in the entree or appetizer. I highly recommend this place.

My whole family is Italian and was weary of going to an Italian restaurant in SLC but we were so happy with every single thing! The meat & cheese plate was very good and very large! The recommended wine was delicious. The entrees were perfect! We did one of their specials which was an aged steak, then the bolognese and the seafood tagliatelle. They were all excellent. Also had dessert- brownie tiramisu and a limoncello bread pudding. All excellent. Will come back!

We celebrated a birthday at Matteo’s. It was one of the best food experiences we have had in awhile. The service was phenomenal from the moment we stepped in the door. We were greeted by friendly hosts, wishing us a happy birthday. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about various dishes. The food was complex, hearty, and filled with flavor. You could almost taste the effort that had gone into each dish. In addition each dish was an art piece within itself. Especially the white chocolate cheesecake dessert. We will most definitely be returning for other special occasions!
