I picked my gravity flow charcoal pit up from Matt the Saturday before Christmas. The craftsman ship is great, the design is spot on for what it is intended to do, and it will easily hold 9 briskets which is exceptional for its size. I’ve been smoking meats for 40 years and have had 7 other pits throughout those years. This pit is the smoothest cooking most consistent temperature control pit I’ve ever owned. I like to cater several weddings a year and can’t wait for my first wedding using this pit. It gives the meats a light charcoal flavor and the ability to add wood smoke flavor by placing a few chunks of hardwood in the hot ember and ash box directly beneath the charcoal chute. What is really amazing is how fast it gets to cooking temp once you light it. It only takes about 30 seconds with a propane torch to light the coals and another 15-18 minutes to be up to 225 cooking temp. Recovery time after you open the door is amazingly quick as well. With its double wall insulated construction once you set temp, it will hold that temp all night long. Matt’s pricing is very fair compared to some other models of similar build that I had looked at as well. First of all, let me say Thanks Matt for building the BRC (Brisket, Ribs and Chicken) Cooker 2436 for me. First of all, Matt told me exactly what to expect and how to pay for the grill that I wanted. Matt's communication was fast and to the point. I never felt as though I was confused or lost in what to do. Once the cooker was built, Matt recommended Daniel who delivered the grill. Daniel also did a fantastic job delivering the grill to my home. Secondly, the BRC itself is a piece of art. You ARE getting your money's worth. I checked the grill out once it arrived and everything looks fantastic. All walls are flush to each other. The welds are professionally done. I ordered the BRC with wheels and that does make a huge difference if I decide to move it around my backyard. This is going to be one-heck of a pit that I will enjoy cooking all kinds of meats on it. If you are wondering if you should giddy-up and purchase a backyard griller or a backyard off-set smoker, YOU WILL NOT be disappointed.

I bought a BRC (Brisket Ribs Chicken) from Matt's BBQ about 5-6 years ago. It is by far the best pit I have ever had. When you shut it down at the end of the cook, the wood goes out. You can reuse it. That's how tight it is. Great customer service. Very happy with it.

Matt was great. He let me make some minor substitutions for his upgraded package. The entire process was smooth and I got my smoker before the estimated time of arrival on the website. I live in NY and even after after shipping he was a better price and I knew I was getting an authentic Texas pit! Highly recommend. When you get this thing delivered do yourself a favor and have a heavy duty pump auto jack. Made putting the tires on a lot easier. He has to remove them for shipping purposes.

I got a grilling pit from Matt's BBQ Pits, LLC. The pit is incredible. As someone who has actually ridden in an M1 Abrams (a real tank), I can say that yes, everything you have read is true, and that the pit is built like a tank. The racks, the charcoal trays, the shelf, smoke stack, door, vent, wheels... dude, this thing is just beyond awesome. Ive gone over the pit a few times now checking out every part, every bolt, every panel, every hinge, just marveling at the incredible work. I am obviously very happy to own this pit. I also have a Kamado Joe big joe and a Yoder 640 pellet, which are both quality builds for their category, but this pit from Matt's is on a different level above those. People from all over my neighborhood have stopped by on their walks or have seen it from the golf course and stop by when they see me outside to talk about it. The machine, great. But Matt is also beyond awesome. You're in good hands when you order from Matt. I was able to arrange pick up at the shop and he made it convenient to schedule and he also got the pit on the trailer for us. Very thankful. It is rare that you can buy something like this pit from a top builder and true expert. Even more rare is this business/person is also very pleasant. Overall, it was a great experience to buy from Matt's BBQ Pits.

Great quality with an amazing price. Welds are top tier and worth every penny. Was very open during the ordering process, and is great at working out ideas into reality. Build time isn't too long and would say about average with the competition. Loading when picking-up was quick and easy, even helped with strapping.

Got a used 2048 reverse flow from an original buyer--can't rave enough. Not only is it an excellent pit that I know will last me many years, but Matt also helped throughout the process, including selling me a cover to fit!

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my Matt's Space Saver Vertical Offset Deluxe smoker. I had done a ton of research before buying this smoker, including a comparison of the specific features, metal thickness, accessories, etc. between Matt's and several other Texas and national brand smokers. When I compared these things apples-to-apples (not just base models), I could tell that Matt's Pitts were both well made and sold at a fair price. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I've been using various smokers for 25 years. This thing is built like a tank. It is very efficient, has good airflow, and steady temperature control. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. My smoker holds right at 225 and has been so easy to break in. Matt was awesome to work with and he customized my pit just how I wanted it. I bought this smoker from Matt and he is very personable and answers any questions you may have. I have been smoking for years and by far this is the best pit I have used . The model I bought came with tuning plates and the temperature from one side to the other was only 5 to 7 degree difference. The firebox is very efficient only used 5 pieces of wood to smoke 3 racks of ribs 1 brisket and some chicken wings . This man knows his pits he designed these well for years of use . Thx Matt
