Great place. Gets really packed. I recommend coming around 3:30-4:00 pm. Our server was new. I don't know, but our order was forgotten and took an hour to be served after we finally mentioned something to another waiter to help us find out where our food is? After we finally got the food it was super good. I had the fajitas combo with shrimp and steak. There wasn't a lot of shrimp. But it was good. The tortilla soup was filled with chicken. The manager comp us 30% on the bill because of the issue. Cool place, but probably not going back. It gets pretty busy, and some customers are so loud. The people sitting next to us were so annoying and couldn't wait until they left. Lol, what an experience that place was.

No Attention to Details! Overall bad experience, so I’m done with this Maudie’s. Taking my business to Fresa’s across the highway from here on out where the margs, food, service and sunsets are better. Strike one! Waitress asks my guest if ready to order. My guest says “I’m not ready.” Waitress turns and leaves our table instead of turning to me and asking me if I’m ready to order. My guest did not reply “We’re not ready.” My guest said “I’m not ready.” Big difference! Strike two! I ordered the chile relleno with pulled chicken. Menu clearly states PULLED CHICKEN. No option mentioned about chicken fajita. But what do I get inside the relleno? Chicken fajita! Waitress asks my guest and me how is our food. My guest is ok. But I give my reply by asking about the chicken and the waitress says it is supposed to be pulled chicken but that I can opt for chicken fajita if I want. Well… I didn’t want chicken fajita nor was I asked or informed by the waitress about substituting the default menu protein from pulled chicken to chicken fajita. Waitress offered to send it back but I was hungry and not in the mood to wait for them to redo my order. Strike three! The waitress assisting our waitress sat my plate down in front of me with the stem of the chile relleno facing me, which is the part you cannot eat. That’s improper to serve like that. The stem should be placed opposite of the guest. I’m Latino and the waitresses both Latina. You would think they understand this little detail about serving the chile relleno plate to the guest. The only saving grace to keep this review from being worse was God presenting a beautiful sunset photo opportunity. I tipped the waitress 20% by the way but it’s the last time I’ll eat there.

So nice, good prices nice atmosphere, family friendly. Delicioso pizza and Alfredo. Get the children's Alfredo because it comes with small gelato and drink! I didn't really lime the coffee short bread cookie, but the amaretti cookie was good as well as the cafe Americano.

I have been going to this specific Maudie's for over 9 years. Our friends that were with us have been going there since 2004. It has consistently been 5 star. That is until tonight. We sat outside, there was another table near us that was occupied with drunk, loud and somewhat obnoxious people. Our table of 5 could barely have a conversation because of the volume from the other table. I called the waitress over and asked if she heard what we heard. She did. She said she would not be able to do anything and we asked if the manager on duty would talk to them to dial it down a little. She agreed and went off to talk to the manager. Nothing was done. The manger never went to talk to them or anything. About 20 minutes later we called for the check and to speak to the manager. I could tell when he showed up he was very reluctant. I explained that we are all long term customers and have never had any issues there but tonight was different and he did nothing to dial down this table. I explained that I waited for him to do something rather then me handling it in my own special way. it was clear this manger could care less. Not a good response to very long term customers.

A huge group went after swimming in the lake. We were famished. The server was very sweet and patient. Took all the orders. Got the kids food asap. Then got out food. Food was piping hot and delicious. I ordered the chipotle chicken. Chicken was well cooked and the sauce was tangy and spicy. My husband got the chilli relleno. Had the smoky flavor and was delicious 🤤🤤 Was so good that I forgot to take photos

First time eating at this restaurant, and my overall experience was excellent! The food was very good! Worth another visit!

Google
We've been to 4 Maudie locations all over Austin and this was the worst one. It was empty inside and the food tasted watered down. The salsa tastes like the refrigerator and unfortunately is far from the flavor of the other locations. The service was good but I'd avoid this location.

Stopped in on July 4th for lunch. Service was slow in what seems to be the post-Covid staffing norm...oh,well. Our small guacamole appetizer was delicious but a rather modest portion. My wife enjoyed the chips and salsa and guacamole. I had the Fajitas and Greens salad with combination beef and chicken. Delicious! My wife enjoyed the Chalupa entree but wouldn't order it again....she says that the enchiladas are best. Total cost was $34.23 before tip for 2 soft drinks, small guacamole, my salad and her chalupas. Earlier post: My wife and I enjoyed lunch here for a second time out on the deck. We enjoyed the generous guacamole portion, the tasty chips and salsa, and very good quality enchiladas rice and beans. Service was good, prices are reasonable. Our two enchilada combo lunches, large guacamole, and 2 cokes was approximately $32.00 I recommend this place as one of the best I've eaten at in a while when it comes to Tex-Mex!

Yelp
Food and service are always good. I've never had a bad experience. This review is to complement the management on letting the servers be engaging with the clientele. Our server today, Julie, was friendly and funny. She made our lunch even more enjoyable than usual.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab a margarita before heading to Lake Austin for a boat party. My frozen margarita was very good and the service was quick and attentive. Look forward to coming back to get a drink in before other boat parties on Lake Austin.

Yelp
I was very impressed with the food and service here! The salsa was amazing and actually had some heat to it, and the ingredients were fresh. I got the Regular Dinner, and I was more than stuffed after. Pretty good value at around $14! I'll be back.

Yelp
I meet a good friend here every couple of months for lunch. And today was one of those days! It's consistent, reasonably priced, and good. I had the tortilla soup today which is chock full of chicken! We were able to sit on the patio despite the heat and still had a good time catching up.

Yelp
One of our favorites! Love the location! The patio seating is good when the weather allows, the dining room is a bit packed and sometimes a bit warm. Overall good food, good atmosphere and tremendous staff! Generally we get chicken fajitas, strait plate or tamales. There is nothing I don't recommend here! In the winter the is nice. They have double sided fireplace so inside or out you can enjoy. Plenty of parking, both in the front and in the back, and if there is a wait they have lots of room outside for seating comfortably.

Yelp
I dined here for lunch with some work colleagues and we had a nice time. Our server's name was Haley and she was as friendly as could be. :) We were greeted promptly and brought waters, chips, and salsa. We ordered queso because...does there need to be a reason for it? No. You just get it and love it and that's all there is to it! We were all happy with our entrees. There wasn't anything left to take home! We were offered to go cups for our drinks which is a nice touch. :) We sat inside due to the heat but there is a nice patio. Dogs are allowed on the patio but not in the restaurant itself. So plan accordingly. *Pro-tip: get there early if you can...the place was full when we left and it got quite loud. We arrived about 11 to beat the rush.

Laura A.

Yelp
Maudie's has been our family favorite for over 20 years. Countless wonderful memories and happy bellies! The staff is always super friendly & the restaurant vibes are top tier. We have different dietary preferences/ restrictions & they make it easy for us to order. We love you Maudie's!!!

Yelp
This was a weird one, my wife and I had been recently on a run of reading Ben Rehder books. He was born and raised in Austin and still lives here, so most of his settings are in and around Austin. Including several restaurants he and his partner eat at when between cases or on a break. We thought it would be fun as we really enjoy the books to try the places they go that we have never been to and this was the first one picked randomly. I don't think we went the the exact location they did but still it works. It was very crowded and VERY LOUD when we first arrived. We still didn't have to wait long and got seated quickly. We did have to ask and wait some time for a drink menu and the waiter seems annoyed we asked for it or that they had to go get it maybe? Perhaps whoever sat us was supposed to supply it? Who knows but he was not in the best of moods for the first 30 minutes or so we were there. We tried very hard to be pleasant, friendly, smile and make jokes but nothing. There is both inside and outside seating as they have a patio area. It is on the second floor of a shopping type center. We perused the menu and there were several things that stood out but I almost always go with Fajitas on my first visit to any Mexican food establishment and did so here as well. The food was good, not the best ever but very good. If it was a bit closer it may be on the rotation but it is a bit out of our way. Shana enjoyed her food as well and it cleared out rather fast but for a bit it was loud and crowded. We found out from our waiter that he and 2 others were going to be cut as it was so slow then suddenly a ton of people showed up which may account for his early bad mood. Maybe he wanted out early. After it cleared out a bit he was better. It was pretty good overall and the drinks were nice. We had a good time overall and you are in that area I suggest you stop in.

Yelp
I've never had a bad meal at any of the Maudie's locations in Austin and this first visit to the Milagros location was no exception. Work has been taking me to this area more frequently lately so we came here for lunch. Getting into the restaurant is always a bit of a challenge due to the never-ending construction on 360 but it's worth the effort. I usually park around back. Like always, I got the Regular Dinner with beef enchiladas. So delicious! The food is cooked on the plate so that plate is hot enough to peal your skin but it keeps the food warm the whole meal. They are very accommodating about tweaking your order but I love the rice, beans, and taco just as they come. The taco is so full that I've never attempted to eat it as a taco. Instead, I chop it up on the plate and eat it as a taco salad. What I like best about this location over the others in town is sitting on the terrace. I love the high vantage point and the serene peaceful view. What's not to love?
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
Addicted to the Salsa... It should be bottled and sold. I was at the 360 location and there must have been someone's abuelita back there putting her skills to work!
google avatar

Rusty B.

Yelp
As usual, the food was good & the frozen margaritas even better. This is one of our favorite go-tos close to home.

Yelp
Love Maudies! Their Mexican Martini is the best!!! We also like their food which you need to eat if you are going to drink their Mexican Martini or you will end up finding your head hurting the next day.
google avatar

Altovise L.

Yelp
I went here for happy hour with a few friends. The food was alright for TexMex and I enjoyed my basil cucumber margarita. I was disappointed in the service. However I'm not sure if they're just short staffed but it took very long to order, get utensils, a glass of water and for the food to arrive. I can't recommend this place because I'd hate for someone else to wait as long as I did.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch and were very happy with our meals. The enchiladas had terrific soft chicken and flavorful sauce, while the tacos were stuffed full of chicken and vegetables. Our margaritas were made well and tasted great. Also, since we know we all judge places on the chips and salsa, here they are really good. The salsa had just the right heat and the chips were crisp.

Yelp
We are vegetarian and really enjoyed this place. Tasty food, they can make it spicy and add heat when requested. Came here with a family of seven. Nice atmosphere and very spacious. Easy parking. The food was rich in flavor, saucy, and made to order. Definitely would recommend it especially for vegetarians. Special things to our server Daniel who was amazing, stayed on top of our needs, and always smiled. Outstanding young man.

Yelp
The food is generally very good, and we typically order takeout; however, failures in their quality control to ensure orders are complete, with all requisite order ingredients, continue to be more and more prevalent and unacceptable. In the past, takeout orders have always been very timely, and exactly as ordered. However, of late, we continue to experience incomplete orders on a more frequent/routine basis. The first occasion was a few weeks ago when a main ingredient was not included in one of our entrées (the meat for a taco). This was an incredibly surprising and disturbing omission, and unfortunately wasn't determined until after having completed the 35 min drive back home. Last week my Fajita Plate was missing the separate container with all the accompanying ingredients, i.e., the guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and pico. Once again, the omission went unnoticed until I arrived at home. This week, our two entrée orders included the usual tortillas, and we requested flour/corn for each order. However, all the tortillas were missing. While I did check for all other ingredients before I left the restaurant, I never thought to check for the inclusion of the tortillas -- a main ingredient for my Fajitas, and secondary for my wife's Enchilada plate. And again, unnoticed until I returned home. In the future, should we decide to order takeout from Maudie's again, it must now include the decision on whether it is really worth the time that is going to be necessary to check for the inclusion of every item before leaving the restaurant -- or simply just order elsewhere where it can/should be expected that the order will be properly completed, with all ingredients present.

Yelp
Maudie's has some great food. I got tacos like I always do and love the salsa as an appetizer too.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
My first time coming here and it was a pleasant experience. Service was great and the food was good. I ordered the Spinach Tomatado Enchiladas and the Christmas cocktail (Tito's, Orange, Grapefruit & cranberry juices). The enchiladas were good. Spinach and mushrooms with cheese! Yum. The grilled zucchini was delicious. Can't wait to try more of the food.

Yelp
Maudie's is another Austin area Tex Mex staple. Food is better than average and reasonably priced. The margaritas are standard fare - sometimes, a little on the syrupy side for the house version, the top shelf are pretty dang, tasty and blended well I typically sit at the bar, bartenders are typically very interactive, friendly, and on top of their game. Several locations in town, all equal... Good choice to get your Tex-Mex fix.
google avatar

Ralph S.

Yelp
This is our go to TexMex place. The food is ALWAYS delicious and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Ask for Dimas!! Excellent wait person, cook, and just a really, really nice person.
google avatar

Ayub Y.

Yelp
FYI- not too big on texmex. But the flavors were pretty consistent with most of the TexMex locations I've tried. Friendly service, basic restaurant ambiance
google avatar

Natasha G.

Yelp
Love this place. It's a neighborhood staple. We find ourselves here at least one a week. Great food, drinks & service. Underrated menu offering is the ranchera sauce. Sub it out for any sauce on enchiladas, etc. Great flavor and spice!
google avatar

Michaela M.

Yelp
I'm so confused by the prices on the menu. My server definitely held back on advising of extra charges. My daughter had a kids meal and the price was more on the bill, I asked for tomatillo sauce on my cheese enchiladas and that was a $1.50 charge, one meal was supposed to come with a side of queso and when I asked for it they charged me for a small queso (an additional $6). I will not be returning with my children that's for sure.

Yelp
Made our first visit to this location last night. We were "those people" and showed up 20 minutes before closing, we knew what we wanted and tried to be as quick as possible. The servers treated us perfectly, the food was incredible and we left full and happy shortly after 9. We'll definitely be back, earlier for their sake, but they definitely earned my business
google avatar

Yelp
Moved up the road to the DFW area, visiting in Austin, remembering the bad dining experience from the previous review. Made me sad, considering the literally hundreds of meals I've enjoyed at a number of locations over the years. So stopped in for dinner and really enjoyed it. Excellent chips and fabulous salsa, best in class queso. Crispy taco makes a nice "salad" course before the enchiladas. Enchiladas were perfect, nice amount of chile sauce, chopped onions, melty cheese. It's long been one of my favorite Austin meals, and they hit the nail on the head this time. Happy to take the time to bump them back to a solid 5 star in my book.

Yelp
Couldn't celebrate Cinco de Mayo without true Mexican food... a friend recommended Maudie's and it did not disappoint. We arrived around 7pm and waited about an hour to be seated (granted, it was a holiday). But we were able to grab drinks and wait outside at their seating area which had plenty of benches. The margaritas- some of the best I've had. Sweet and fruity, but fairly strong. They had a full drink menu including margaritas, cocktails, martinis, beer, etc. all reasonably priced. Our grande margaritas were ~$11 for 18ounces. They also had specialty margaritas for a few extra dollars. The restaurant itself is fairly small, but the patio was very nice. Our meal didn't take long to come and the food was great (definitely not heavy/greasy like other Mexican restaurants). I usually don't care for salsa either but Maudie's had a sweet, mild salsa that I loved. The waitress was very attentive and kind too! My total bill came out to $18 for tacos and a margarita. I'll definitely return to Maudie's. 10/10 experience
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
Oof. Some of the most flavorless tex-mex I've had. Do they not add salt or lime to their guac? I had to do it myself. Overall unimpressed by the service and food. Drinks were fine. It was a lot of waiting around, unattended to. I do like the outdoor patio seating option. It's nice to be there for sunset. Happy we got that experience at least. I don't think I'll be back unfortunately.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place is popular. It's certainly not the food. Perhaps it's the location and ambience, and our server was accommodating. BUT the most important thing - the food - was mediocre at best. I ate about half the shrimp tacos - salty and not good. Not much flavor beyond the salt. My friend ordered chicken poblano enchiladas and they were marginal and bland. I'm not going back ever. Sorry.
google avatar

Julie Z.

Yelp
Oh man, we love Maudie's, but hadn't been back post pandemic. I know everyone is suffering being understaffed, right now, but our waiter was truly THE WORST. We tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he had four tables and it took us 2 hours and 45 minutes to eat. We had one round of drinks, a thing of queso and our entrees. There were only four of us. The food and drinks were good, but geez! Homeboy brought us the waters that we asked for and then didn't come back for 30 minutes. When it was time to go, I finally just went up to where he was standing and flirting with the hostess and handed him our card. His manners were crap. Like I said, we're understanding of the low staff situation, but this was just ridiculous.
google avatar

Amy Z.

Yelp
I love the balcony at sunset! The chips are warm. The salsa is good. The menu is extensive. I rely on the chicken taquitas and the skinny margaritas to weave my mind back to 'go mode'. Great staff & yummy carne guisada too. Happy to report the juevos rancheros and coffee are also muy bien!
google avatar

Russell B.

Yelp
I am tired of coming here and getting terrible service. The enchiladas are usually good and this Maudie's is close to our house. But every time we come I wonder why in the world we come back. We are here on a pretty slow Sunday night service is terrible. The host mentioned happy hour prices and they don't even have HH on Sunday. Our waitress is a bit arrogant. After taking our order she turned to leave without saying a word. I said "You're welcome" and she finally said thank you. And nothing says "We appreciate our customers" like a basket of finely broken chips.
google avatar

Alli J.

Yelp
Our most favorite place to eat TexMex. They have a very inclusive menu and amazing drinks!
google avatar

Sadie I.

Yelp
You know sometimes, when you decide to rebel against yelp reviews and see for yourself? Should've just trusted those reviews. Lesson learned. Went for Happy Hour for tastings. Tried several specials and drinks and there just wasn't anything that was spectacular. Not a "authentic" vs. "Tex-Mex" snob, but this just didn't do any of it. Our server, however, was great!

Sohamy U.

Yelp
Food was great. They had the heaters on in the patio which was perfect for the weather. The service was not so great. Seems like the server was too busy to get us what we needed when asked so multiple requests needed to be made.
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
Server charges me for an entree I did not order. Server offers me to take my dinner home. Manager tells the server if the customer takes home the dinner you have to charge the customer. I ask for the manager. The manager says, if you're taking that home, we have to charge you. I tell the manager, I'm not asking for a free dinner and it was offered by the server. I say keep the food and take the food off my bill. By this time, I'm already annoyed. I tell the manager, if you want to correct the server, correct him but don't take your issues with the customer. The manager later comes back and says you can take the food home. By this time, I went from annoyed to frustrated. Left my food at the table. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Understand what that means!

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Forgot our to-go boxes and before we even left the restaurant, they threw all our food away. It wasn't even a minute. So sad to watch 50$ of food tossed without a 5 minute courtesy wait
google avatar

Anoop I.

Yelp
Visited twice for lunch in the recent past. The powerbowl lite was very good, it's a layered salad with rice, beans, lettuce, pico and avocado. I added a little guac on the side. On a prior visit, had the potato rajas tacos, which were a bit on the heavy side (no surprise, esp after generously helping myself to chips and salsa). They have very pleasant outdoor seating, with fans for hot days and heaters for cool days. Parking at Davenport Village is tight but manageable even during lunch hour. Service was good during both my visits here.
google avatar

Terri J.

Yelp
Wow...I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. This is one of my favorite places. Years ago, I worked by the 360 Bridge & this was one of the very few decent places to go for lunch. So...we came here often. I didn't mind because I love their food. Their chips and salsa are delicious and their guacamole is, too. I usually get cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. Yum yum. Fast forward a few years, I still frequented this particular Maudies because it was a good place for North Austin friends to meet South Austin peeps without going downtown. The food here is just as good as other locations, but the restaurant itself is probably the nicest (it is in Westlake after all). The bar area is very small - probably the only negative, but consistent with other locations. The drinks are also very good. I wish they had better HH specials, though. That's a bit disappointing. So now that I work in the area again, this is once again my favorite lunch spot. There are a few other restaurants in the area now, but not with yummy yummy Tex-Mex like this.
google avatar

Neal K.

Yelp
Bad Salsa. If you start out your lunch at a Mexican place and the salsa is just spicy but no other flavors then you are in for a disappointing lunch.

P H.

Yelp
Love this spot. All the server's work hard and do a great job. Love the outdoor patio and some of the best fish tacos in town and great Tex Mex.
google avatar

James F.

Yelp
Never been a huge fan of Maudie's, but for some reason this location across from the wife's work does alright. Strooooong margaritas and a nice patio with not too much noise even though it overlooks 360. Better than average chips and salsa IMO. My entree of choice lately (three visits) has been the combo fajita chalupas. For under $11, you get two large mounds of beans lettuce, tomato, meat, and melted cheese smothered in guacamole. Frankly, after consuming a basket of chips between the two of us it's hard to finish both. Wife had the quesadillas blancas last visit. Corn tortillas had the circumference of a tennis ball gently folded over with jack cheese and poblano peppers inside. This dish reflected the price of $6. It was the most snack sized quesadilla I've seen to date almost resembling a mini street taco.
google avatar

Holly V.

Yelp
The outside seating has a very nice view for dinner. I ordered a prickly pear swirl (large is very large btw!) and the drink was incredibly delicious. Wasn't too strong (almost like a dessert haha). Salsa was pretty spicy which I also enjoyed. I love a good kick to my salsas. Our waitress was good & the food came out to the table VERY quickly. I was surprised how quickly the food arrived after ordering. I ordered the "Mexican plate" and was very impressed with the taste & variety. I would definitely come back and recommend trying it out.

Yelp
After my previous review on Maudies Milagro, today I had a wonderful time having fresh salsa and delicious Enchiladas thrilled what a difference from my last visit a few months ago. Management is really trying to improve the entrees and drinks are absolutely fantastic. So I awarded these great servers and management a five star rating. Waiter stepped up and very attentive food served hot and ready for you to dig in. As you see posted photos of the beef Enchildas were very well cooked and delicious tortillas were popping hot with butter. The Nachos supreme was a hit and perfect and as picky as I am about Nachos it was devoured in less than 15 minutes. The chef really did a good job preparing a great mexican type entree that I truly recommend. Beans and rice is the traditional Mexican style dishes Maudies is famous. As you see resturants either deny loyal customers a cuisine they seek and enjoy or change and raise the bar for pleasing a hungry crowd. I love it for my taste buds crave the old Maudie's Milagro. Thanks again for such a good meal. I will return back to you......enjoy the fact that you are dog friendly. I am grateful for that. See you next time. Love you

Yelp
Hate to do this... first time here, came at 4:30pm and sat on the patio. Walked in and passed a couple cooks that were in their maudies shirts smoking. That's a big turn off for me, especially when I actually have to walk passed you if I want to enter the restaurant. It's rude. Got a table after the hostess got off her phone call. Our waitress wasn't completely there. I get it. Bad day. But she had help from a guy who saved the day. She was missing for 10-15 minutes at one point in time. We ordered the queso and guacamole but by the time they arrived my husband had already devoured the chips so we were left staring at it and couldn't find our server. I flagged down another gal who was delivering some chips to another table. I looked around and could tell all her tables weren't happy campers. Our drinks didn't get refilled, queso got cold.. and table was not busted until we got our check from the guy who saved the day. Hubby ordered the veggie burrito and I ordered the bean burrito and it was ok but we won't be back to this location unfortunately.

Yelp
The Maida's salad on the "skinny menu" is really good. It's weird...they have the same salad on the "salad" menu, but the one on the skinny menu comes with shrimp. I love the cilantro vinaigrette that it comes with. It's loud inside, but there's a lot of patio seating. Highly recommend this salad!

Yelp
Pretty solid Mexican food. Some items were better than others. Highlights include veggie fajitas, fish tacos, and chips and salsa. Didn't love the veggie burrito though. 3.5/5

Yelp
Hailey was absolutely amazing and deserves raise! Even went as far as to catch my jalapeño ranch when it started teetering off my plate getting it all over her hand. Thank you so much for serving us!

Yelp
Love how when you pay the bill you get presented with 18%, 20%, 25% with the assumption. Want to make 20% on your investments don't eat here!!! Took 15 min to even get water and chips. Really really REALLY slow service!! Hey- but keep up the 20%!!!
