"On a few idyllic acres in Kula, Leah Damon and her crew keep bees, grow organic vegetables, and tend to sweet-tempered milk cows, goats, and chickens. The pick-your-own farm is a gourmet Eden, where visitors can feast on pumpkin soup and gluten-free brownies, and take away jars of macadamia blossom honey. On Friday nights, the farm hosts three-hour experiences that include tours of the “bee museum” followed by a seven-course dinner. The vegetable-forward menu spotlights farm-grown novelties like honeycomb, mulberries, Surinam cherry, and asparagus picked at the peak of ripeness." - Shannon Wianecki, Bill Addison

Aloha, My husband and I took the tour yesterday and just wanted to express appreciation for the great experience. Dusty was so knowledgeable and provided a palpable excitement for the beautiful harmony that has been achieved. We keep 3 beehives in the northwest Chicago suburbs and have been working to improve our interactions with nature each year through our backyard gardening as well. Your farm is a beautiful demonstration of how to achieve this on a larger scale while using science and shared expertise to continue to improve over time. Our visit was the highlight of our Maui trip and I hope to keep up with the farm's happenings once I return home. Thank you again!

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the farm to table dinner. What an amazing experience! The guest chef, Katarina, put together a fantastic menu and the service and attention from Beau was top notch. If you’re in the area I highly recommend this experience.

We did the Friday evening farm to table dinner. IT WAS PERFECTION. The beets with the goat cheese yogurt was so good! The venison was cooked to perfection. The summer honey was amazing!! I should start by saying this…I do not even like honey…don’t particularly care for the taste. My wife loves bees and used to have a hive but they are hard to care for in NJ with the winters etc etc. I picked this place for her and in the back of my mind, I thought it would be a miss for me but was happy to take the L so she could have an amazing evening. I was wrong. I think I maybe liked the whole thing more than her. I practically ate the whole thing of honey that came with the tea and had to ask for more. Kudos Chef James Martinez…this was spectacular. Also, shout out to the staff. Through the whole booking process, they were fast with replying to emails and made the booking process easy. We were going to be in Hana earlier that day and I was worried about timing but they were super awesome about accommodating us! (Beau and Leah) I think Beau was actually our server tonight also. He was very knowledgeable about the farm and was really amazing! 10/10 recommend!! If you’re in Maui, you MUST add this to your trip. We left with 7 jars of honey! If you can’t make the dinner then at the very least go for the honey and a coffee!!

Google
My review will be mostly focused on the multi-course dinner my wife and I had here. And I just have to say; Wow. This was an outstanding experience. Farm to Table dining in its purest form. They recycle almost literally everything on this farm. Very little if anything goes to waste. But i'll let them explain all that. As much as the meal takes center stage here, I have to say Chef Scott is the star. Himself and every other worker on this farm is incredibly passionate about what goes on here. And that translates into one of the most enjoyable dining experiences one can have which include a brief tour of the farm, some education on Bees, delicious meal creations, and breath taking views. Apologies for "waxing poetic" as they say. But this unique experience had to be shared. In the words of our favorite actor/governor: I'll be back.

First time stopping here on the island, we’ll be back this trip and next! Great coffee, honey, food, and chilled drinks including Jun honey kombucha. They have a little bee display museum with a live hive and interpretive displays on bees. Garden is a dream, fresh clean and beautiful, you can stroll through it and pet some friendly felines. Also, a great shaded sitting area.

Google
The farm to table 7 course meal was just the best experience! The food was top notch! The scenery was beyond beautiful and the entire experience was one of a kind! Treat yourselves to a great date night with Maui Bees you won't regret it!

Google
On a bike ride down Haleakala, we decided to take a detour to Maui Bees. This farm was incredible! They grow a variety of produce and make their own honey. In addition to those tasty offerings, the property is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. We were given a tour by Kyle and it was evident he is passionate about his work on the farm. Make sure to stop by and check out their offerings!

Google
I’ve seen this honey in gift shops on Maui, so decided to stop in when we were in the area. Interesting to taste the difference between the summer and winter honey, both were delicious and almost creamy, lovely texture. Beautiful gardens in the back, and cute little shop.

Yelp
This is a late post from November 24, 2023 After our trip to the Holy Ghost mission church we stopped along the way to Maui Bees Farm. This was one of our stops for the day as the lower Kula area is not very close to where we were staying in Kihei. This was last November on our Anniversary so It's a late review. Worth a stop for some delicious honey, tea, and a look at the organic gardens in the back. We love supporting local organic businesses and they had some nice looking produce as well. There was also a small Bee gallery to check out. A nice quiet place in the mountains away from the tourist's if you need to take a break.

Susan Z.

Yelp
Love this great Mom and Pop business. Store is easy to find and the honey is absolutely the best! All seasons honeys are lip smacking good. They also have sweets, produce and other tasty treats like focaccia sourdough. Great gifts for family and friends, try the turmeric sauerkraut! Yum! Stop by and enjoy a picnic on the farm and maybe reserve a table for the supreme farm to table dinner. Beautiful spot for photos too and you can see a panoramic view from their farm. Bring all your peeps whether locals or visitors. Fun place and staff are beyond friendly and kind.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to take the short drive here from the Upcountry Farmers Market and we're glad we did. It's a wonderful place to visit! We were full from the Upcountry Farmers Market so I ordered a unique drink called Golden Hour. It had turmeric powder, steamed milk and honey. It was simple and delicious! We relaxed over the drink in a very relaxing shaded area with tables and chairs. Afterwards, we took a look at the very interesting and small bee museum which has an active hive within it. We saw the the beautiful garden at the back of the shop, flowers in bloom, and people going to and from the beehives out back wearing those sort of space age looking protective suits. The woman who made my drink was incredibly friendly as were all the people there. From the garden in the back you get an amazing view of Maui and islands in the distance. This is a wonderful place to visit!

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
I love this quaint honey farm- We had the best baked treats here- the hubby had an amazing latte and a chocolate chip cookie- I had an expresso and rosemary shortbread cookie-it was savory and I could have many more! This is definitely a stop if you are nearby. The honey is delicious too!

Harinder K.

Yelp
This is a great spot upcountry to learn about bees, enjoy the garden, and get delicious honey. I come here whenever in Maui to get their winter and summer honey - delicious!

Yelp
Be All You Can Bee Established in 2009, this Maui upcountry farm stand/apiary/café has been serving the community with their fresh produce, succulent honey, and baked goods. The Good: *Bee Museum on-site, which is free to visit *Gorgeous location with great views *Walk along the path and take a self-guided tour of the farm. *Their honey is amazingly good and so thick like caramel. They even have a summer blend and winter blend that are distinctively different in color and flavor. *The lady (owner?) who gave us a tour of the bee museum was really nice, informative, and stuck around to give us fun facts and answer any questions. *On-site Café (didn't try so can't comment) that serves a rotating mix of seasonal foods (e.g., bowls, tacos, and soup), as well as caffeineted beverages. The Meh: *Parking lot is tiny and a bit suspect. Be careful pulling in and backing out, as depending on the size of your vehicle, it can be tight to navigate. The Ugly: *The two young ladies running the counter were nice enough, but we literally had to stand there and stare at them while they finished their conversation about how Becky** totally hated on Sharon** and that's like a total bummer cuz now they both won't talk to me. Like, omg! TLDR: Nice spot to see some bees, grab some honey and tour the garden. Maybe even grab a drink or snack but that'll have to wait for #NextTimeGadget **Names have been changed to protect the innocent

Yelp
Delicious pastries and good coffee. The mochi muffin is one of the best items on the menu. Be sure to get here early to snag one of their ever-changing specialty cakes/pastries before they sell out!! Salted chocolate chip cookies, olive oil cake, rosemary shortbread cookies, lilikoi bars, house made ice cream... There's a good selection of coffee, matcha, tea options as well. You'll be greeted by Ayla and her amazing smile and hospitality! Do not miss out on this wonderful cafe, surrounded by endless farm and a small bee museum! Perfect spot to sit outside and relax with a coffee and pastry.

Kelly B.

Yelp
Take this tour! It was amazingly informational, beautifully situated in the kula farmland and oh yeah, honey!!!!! This was something off the beaten path but a real favorite for us adults and the kids.

Deanna M.

Yelp
Great place to take the kids to learn about bees, agriculture, and just hanging out to suck up the nature and awesome experience. They serve coffee drinks and lots more! Stop by their store to get some in-home, honey, vegetables, avocados, bananas, and a smile... Love, love, love this place!!

Adrienne G.

Yelp
Farm to table in the yummiest sense Started our visit at Maui Bees with a view of hives and an education of how the farm came to be, what plants they were harvesting that week.....they rotate crops and leverage all the best soils, compost & all organic to boot Then comes a 7-course dinner showcasing everything the gardens have to offer. The dishes were inspired & creative. The flavors were soul-warming & the sunset views couldn't be beat We'll be enjoying our summer honey & remembering our lovely visit

Joyce H.

Yelp
Lovely place for lunch or bee tour. I enjoy coming here for lunch and a hot tea with their fresh honey. I have had their quinoa bowl and their jasmine rice bowls and they are both delicious. My most recent bowl was the quinoa bowl that had a 6 minute egg, beets, carrots, sauerkraut and shoyu sauce. Delicious! After lunch I took a short self guided tour around their vegetable garden. In addition to bowls they often have delicious dessert on display such as pumpkin muffins or banana caramel pie. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Overall a lovely experience the two times I have been here.

Kim K.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place actually looking for something else. We stopped in and got some of the best papaya bread I have ever had, fresh produce, and some tea and coffee. The prices are reasonable and the produce was so fresh and delicious. Brought some honey home, haven't cracked into it yet but looking forward to trying the honey itself!

Kya T.

Yelp
We celebrated my wife's birthday with the Farm-To-Table Dinner and if I could give this more stars I would. What an amazing experience being personally served by Chef James and being limited to 12 guests we felt so spoiled having the farm to ourselves, eating outside and enjoying the sunset. I don't know how you could top this dining experience. Much love to Chef James and staff.

Hal S.

Yelp
We made the trek to Kula to see the bees, taste the honey, and have some delicious, healthy lunch; which included sweet potato and black bean tacos on homemade corn tortillas, served with a beautiful green side salad. We arrived shortly before 1 pm, which is when the kitchen closes. At about 1:00 we asked about ordering and Chef Ryan came out and said no problem with serving us - even at the last minute! What a guy! What a team! The honeys we sampled were amazing! I now see what all the buzz is about.... (Sorry for the corny joke). The variety that is produced strictly on site is almost like eating pure caramel. The other varieties (summer and winter) are produced in several properties, all on Maui within a short distance of the main site. They serve several different flavours of jun, which is like kombucha, but made with green tea and honey, rather than black tea and sugar. An acquired taste I think... I learned a lot and left with some really awesome honey!!! This is a great place to visit for a change of pace; in the hills instead of on the beach. Definitely worth the trip for us!

K L.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Off the beaten path upcountry. Worth the adventure. The honey is wonderful. Ayla very helpful and welcoming. Stop in the museum and find the queen bee. Check out the events and programs they offer.

Marty W.

Yelp
Great Coffee and service. Toured the farm- great area to take a break! We enjoyed our time here.

Katie S.

Yelp
We had such a wonderful afternoon at Maui bees! The ground are beautiful and their treats are yummy. We loves learning about beekeeping and chatting with the barista. They are so kind and helpful. They made my son's day when the many harvesting passion fruit offered him some!

Joseph L.

Yelp
This is a review of the Maui Bees farm-to-table "Chef's Menu" dinner, and not the store that sells honey. If you're the type of diner that sits by their computer/phone at 8am on the 1st on the month so that you can book a dinner at a Michelin star restaurant, then the next time you're in Maui, you need to visit Maui Bees for their Chef's Menu dinner while you can still make a reservation just a few days in advance (before word spreads about what they're offering up here). It's not cheap ($215pp when we went 7/1/23), but it's an "event meal" and worth the splurge. The evening starts out with a quick tour of their bee museum and farm, and then you're seated for dinner. They don't have a beer/wine license, so if you enjoy wine with your dinner, be sure to bring your own wine (no corkage fees). We've been to many "farm-to-table" dinners before, but we've never sat for dinner a mere 5 feet from the farm where all of the vegetables were picked that morning. The food was great, and everything would have been considered a very nice meal. But (SPOILERS AHEAD), after the 4th course, we moved from the back area near the farm to a large patio overlooking one of the most stunning views on Maui! We enjoyed our remaining 3 courses, along with a sampling of 4 different honeys, while enjoying a majestic sunset. This second half of the meal clearly pushed the dinner from a nice farm-to-table Chef's Menu dinner to a meal that we'll be talking about years from now. I hope my pictures do justice to the view that we enjoyed while finishing up our meal. The entire staff is friendly and great at what they do. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Chef's Menu dinner at Maui Bees (I think it's only offered Thur-Sat nights).

Craig T.

Yelp
This place was such a nice surprise. Very quaint bee farm off the beaten path. We enjoyed some homemade jun (kind of like kombucha with honey) and homemade pastries while exploring the garden and the bee museum. Very wholesome and enjoyable

Christine S.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this farm and I'm glad we did! We got some matcha latte with coconut milk and kombucha! The vibe and ambiance were lovely. They have a little bee museum and Rosie showed us the observation hive and talked to us about bees-- super cool! I'd love to do a tour when I come back to Maui! Definitely recommend to friends and family :)

Han L.

Yelp
Really cool spot. You can see the bees and sample the honey. We prefer the winter honey! It's carry on size which is nice.

Drew W.

Yelp
Where the best Upcountry bees hang out. Check out the hives, honey and the flowering gardens on the slopes of Haleakala. Great place for kids to learn about the important role bees play in the environment.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
We just visited and und unfortunately if we didn't just eat breakfast and didn't have a whole day planned in upcountry we would have eaten and bought some goods here. My review is based on the gorgeous view this place has and the vibe. We were warmly welcomed. Everything looked fresh! The menu that day looked like super tasty stuff we definitely would have ordered. Sadly we didn't have another day to head back that way otherwise I would have eaten and bought some goods there. Super cute place!! I'd recommend a visit!

Colleen S.

Yelp
Lovely farmstead cafe. Their coffee is delicious (and I'm a coffee snob), the ambiance is friendly, and they carry a bunch of products from produce to sauerkraut, juices, and kombucha. The view from there is gorgeous. You can see down to the beach on the north side of the island. Behind the cafe is a small farm around which you can walk. Beautiful rows of veggies, fruit, herbs, and flowers. It is a slice of heaven. If I was staying closer to it, I'd have been there every day.

Doctor G.

Yelp
We happen to be in the area and decided to stop by and check out This modest little place. It's fun to walk through their garden and see the butterflies and bees pollinating the plants. They have a trailer sized visitor center educating people about bees, plus a small gift store. Park in their small gravel parking lot. Emissions free.

Alyse F.

Yelp
Great little roadside stop! The coolest part was by far seeing the bee hive when the employee opened it up and was able to help us find the queen. We tasted the honey - summer and winter tasted totally different - and learned that the flavor comes from what the bees are pollinating at the time of honey collection. Super cool! The farm was beautiful and growing avocados, citrus, and watermelon. A quick stop but totally cool while wondering around for the day.

Erin B.

Yelp
This honey is INSANE! Sweeten your tea or enjoy as is, this honey is perfectly crystallized goodness. I could eat this honey straight from the jar one spoon at a time. Ok, in all truthfulness, I have eaten this honey straight from the jar. IT'S THAT GOOD! Until we meet again, Maui Bees!

Mandi M.

Yelp
What a hidden gem!! It's tucked back into the gorgeous landscape, with beautiful flower gardens all around. Ayla made the most delicious honey lattes and was so knowledgeable and friendly. The honey is delicious and the area is gorgeous - definitely worth a visit!

Sophie H.

Yelp
Super pleasant place! Great coffee with a lush view. It's off the beaten path and totally worth a stop.

Lorelei G.

Yelp
I'm super cute spot that educates you about the bees and sells delicious honey. Great coffee and pastries too!

Nikki Q.

Yelp
My all time favorite honey is the winter honey. Today I bought the macadamia nut one and I think it might be even better! The little farm is really cool to walk through too.

Marilyn G.

Yelp
We had the farm to table dinner there a couple nights ago, and it was our favorite outing on this trip to Maui! Everyone was extremely gracious, the spot was absolutely lovely, and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend it!

Natalie N.

Yelp
Super cute farm with delicious honey and coffee drinks! My sister got a fantastic lavender latte that really tasted like there was fresh lavender in it. It's cool to walk around the beautiful farm and see all the fresh vegetables growing. They also have a little museum that was fun to go in and learn about the bees and how the farm works. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a unique experience and a coffee drink while supporting a local farm!

Shanna H.

Yelp
Such a sweet business. The honey was incredible. The summer, winter and mac honeys were all different and so yummy. Do yourself a favor and buy all three.

Laura L.

Yelp
Our brunch was phenomenal! I wish we would have had time for the dinner too. Definitely check this place out.

Elise K.

Yelp
I love the Maui Bees winter honey. It is the best honey I have ever tasted. I have been drinking tea with half and half and honey ever since my Irish mother-in-law brought tea over from Ireland in 1996!

Carter M.

Yelp
Sweet breeze, beautiful view, organic treats and ultimate Grass Roots vibe. Everything they serve is within the 4 acres they call home; from candles to their tallow and salad, it's all harvested here. I'm presently enjoying their beet salad with manchego espuma and Mac nuts ($10) while sipping on delicious Jun ($7). Their peanut butter energy bar is silly good and as well as their produce and specialty products like tallow and maca chocolates

Minta M.

Yelp
Lexa at Maui bees was fantastic! Great customer service and we chatted for a while about food recs after tasting the honey. They also sell some of their produce and food to go.

Jennifer E.

Yelp
I couldn't recommend visiting Maui Bees more! We just did the tour as a family, including an 8 and 12 year old. Everyone enjoyed the abundance of information shared, the opportunity to ask lots of questions, putting on the bee suits to get fresh honey from the hive, learning how they process the honey, and of course tasting lots of honey (in addition to the many other yummy items they had for sale). Our guide Dusty was wonderful and you couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting. We can't wait to come back the next time we visit Maui!

S. Rene' P.

Yelp
I am so excited to be doing my 1st ginger/ turmeric honey ferment with the honey from Maui bees. I bought the summer and winter honey on this trip. I follow them on Facebook and enjoy seeing their daily menu for lunch and hope to make it back to the farm to try it one day. The staff has always been nice and I love they have a bee program to learn about the bee's.

Delmar D.

Yelp
Small place but loved it. My wife and I went for the first time and tried their special of the week. It was awesome after the first bite. And, they have a room that shows the working honey bees, thats COOL!!!! Wife and I already talking when to return hehe

Linda H.

Yelp
Stopped and got chai tea. Great gluten free deserts. Excellent sandwiches. Wish I would have gotten some of the honey comb.

Peter H.

Yelp
Incredible lovely farm stand with great lattes, organic honey, and perfect farm grown fruits and vegetables at a great price. Would recommend to anyone

Janet M.

Yelp
Bee-utiful little farm. Fascinating bee museum. Sample the honey at the stand and try to choose between their many sweet gifts, fresh produce, and bee products. Highly recommend the Bee Calm Salve and Shortbread cake with Lilikoi glaze!

Jake L.

Yelp
Honey is pure and local! The To Go Lunch Menu is very fresh and Sooooooooooo good!!!!!! must try!!!! and the farm stand has the freshest fruits and veggies upcountry can get!!!! thank you Maui Bees! ! ! ! ! !

Marla M.

Yelp
We had a beautiful field trip. The kids and mamas learned a lot! Great staff! James was amazing! I loved my chai while walking around property learning a lot about farming and bees.

Alex T.

Yelp
We were visiting this farm 3 years ago and visited again now. We're glad to see that farm is doing well. They added bee educational space where you can watch the bees work behind the glass. You can buy excellent quality honey which we got last time and now again and enjoyed very much. No cake could compare to a simple piece of bread with grass fed butter and honey on top. Simple nutritious and delicious. They grow organic produce and sell organic eggs. You can see the veggies growing there and take a tour around. They also have some homemade food and treats for sale. Also honey could be ordered online to ship to mainland. Beautiful peaceful place with caring people.

Zeena F.

Yelp
Kula's hidden gem! This farm stand serves up the most delicious organic food(straight from the garden behind the stand.) The menu changes each week depending on what's growing. I come here weekly to eat lunch and every dish I've tried is absolutely delicious + reasonably priced.

Robbin K.

Yelp
We spent the morning with Mark at Maui Bees doing his hands-on bee workshop. What an amazing place! Mark's passion and love for honey bees is contagious and is equal to his passion for regenerative farming. He is incredibly knowledgeable and loves to share. We learned all about the life and habits of the bees, even suiting up and tasting honey directly from an active hive (delicious!). We also toured his production facility and sampled more of his recently harvested winter honeys. We came away with a whole new appreciation for bees and sustainable farming methods. The entire staff was warm, friendly and very helpful. There is also a well stocked produce stand that sells delicious krauts, Jun (drinks), produce grown on the farm, chocolates and other seasonal items. If you are looking for something different to do on the island, this is a wonderful thing to add to your list!
