"Doyle is widely considered the catalyst for the Bywater’s influx of restaurants in recent years, opening the highly-acclaimed Maurepas Foods on Louisa Street in 2012. The produce-driven restaurant closed in 2015." - Clair Lorell

We had a good time there. The broccoli was well grilled with nice sauce, and deep fried cauliflower was soft and tasty. The brussel sprout was a bit raw and can be a bit more cooked through. The shrimp hotpot tasted like some variation of Gumbo, which is tasty and the goat taco was not bad, especially with mint sauce and the fruit pickles.

This place was a revelation! The food- impossibly delicious. The service- unequivocally hospitable. The atmosphere- fashionable, hip, and homey. The neighborhood is delightful for a post-indulging walk. If ever you find yourself jaunting the streets of NOLA Maurepas Foods is a must!

This place was amazing. The wait staff greeted us as soon as we entered and we were promptly seated. The atmosphere has a relaxed, fun and a bit romantic feeling. The music in the background gave great feel good vibes. Now the food. We started with the cheese plate. The cheese was amazing, the candied walnuts were savory, sweet and just the right amount of crunch were quite the treat. I had an inner battle about which item to get, the chicken leg quarter with greens, grits and a slow poached egg or the chorizo sandwich. I finally chose the chicken. The women in the table next to me had ordered those same items I was wrestling over. For a moment of panic I felt food remorse when one of the women had said her chorizo sandwich was so amazing she was sad she had almost finished it. Her friend had the chicken and assured me it was not a wrong choice. She was right. The chicken was fall of the bone tender and juicy, skin cooked to crispy perfection. The grits were perfectly creamy then add the poached egg on top, divine. The greens were surprisingly sweet and delicious. We finished the meal with coffee which was the best cup of coffee I've had in...ever. I highly recommend this place. Perfection is unattainable but this place came very, very close. I will be back soon to try the chorizo sandwich.

I really like this place a lot and went several times when it first opened. They have cool dishes like goat tacos and I thought for the atmosphere the price point is really good. Maurepass also has great bartenders and they make a host of very good drinks. One drawback is no reservations but it's worth the wait and I've yet to have a bad meal.

Maurepas Foods is an impeccable gem of good eats in NOLA. My meal was rich with flavor and I now trust the friendly and knowledgeable staff's recommendations implicitly. Great drinks and ambiance to boot.

What a fantastic restaurant. They took care of my husband's and my sometimes annoying dietary issues. The food was incredible as was the service. You really cannot go wrong here. Go and get you some good food!

The food was very tasty although parts of it were burned. I had one carrot cut in quarters with half of a fish for 30 dollars. If you want to stay hungry this is your place to be.

Came for the raved about snake oil and was informed that they needed to change their drink menu for innovation. Bartender was not helpful and very aloof.
