"The best steak in Montauk, and the best martini, is at Mavericks. You can get dressed up. It's great for a date night. It took over a space that was there for so long. They really did a good job with it, because the vibes are just so good. There's a piano player now. You can settle in with a good martini, some piano, and a nice steak. But if we had to have another sceney restaurant in the mix, we could do a lot worse than Mavericks. Most things at this seafood-focused steakhouse are solid, like bone-in tuna ribeye served like a steak with a spicy harissa sauce for dipping, crunchy fried chicken with caviar, and locally made pasta tossed with gently cooked lobster. "Montauk’s seafood-focused steakhouse is practically designed for big group feasts, dressing up, and splurging on caviar service and raw bar towers. You can share pretty much everything on the menu, like fish prepared steakhouse style (bone-in tuna ribeye and swordfish sirloin), steaks, chops, and a Southampton maitake mushroom steak marinated in 20-year Jerez sherry.
