Casual spot serving New York-style pizza & craft beer

"In Lakeview, Max & Issy’s is rolling out a pizza dubbed John Stamos’ Big Fat Greek Sausage—lamb sausage, red onion, olives, and a side of tzatziki dipping sauce—available Riot Fest weekend (September 19 to 21) at its 1028 W. Diversey Parkway restaurant." - Jeffy Mai

"Reopening the former Paddy Long’s as a pizzeria, Max and Issy’s represents the new chapter for the space — ownership says they’ve revamped the room, the old bar is looking magnificent, and they’re very excited about this next phase as they replace the longtime pub with a pizza-focused operation." - Eater Staff

"The team from West Loop hangout, Kaiser Tiger, is behind this Lincoln Park space that has served as a neighborhood bar since 1937. A streamlined menu helps the kitchen team to focus on the main event—pizza—and to making it their best. That means cold-fermenting it for two days to ensure a crispy bottom and chewy inside. Ten different specialty pies make up the menu, with favorites like their Hot Honey Pepper (with goat cheese, mozzarella, basil, pepperoni, and locally sourced honey infused with hot pepper flakes) or their sausage, with mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, and spicy, house made Italian sausage. Come here with family or friends, or order takeout or delivery for a cozy night in with some larger-than-life slices." - Nicole Schnitzler

"Paddy Long’s was a venerable neighborhood bar that pushed an agenda of beer and bacon. Lincoln Park and Lakeview enjoyed that agenda, but during the pandemic the owners wanted more carryout business, so they shifted gears to New York-style pizza. The bar’s loyal fans can still order a pie with jowl bacon, but there’s also a variety of classics that round out the menu." - Ashok Selvam

"The new pizzeria from the same owners occupies the former Lakeview pub and focuses on New York–style, 16-inch thin-crust pies. The streamlined menu offers seven signature pies, a design-your-own option, and two salads; highlights include a meat-loaded "Paddy is Our Daddy" pie (jowl bacon, Italian sausage, pepperoni, Parmigiano-Reggiano) and the spicy "Pompei Today" (serrano, jalapeño, fresno and banana peppers with hot giardiniera). The owners named the restaurant after their children and upgraded the space with a retractable glass garage door to increase airflow. Hours are 4 p.m.–11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 4 p.m.–10 p.m. Sunday." - Naomi Waxman
