Maya's Brigadeiro Brazilian Sweets

My family came across Maya’s during a Brazilian event in Santa Clarita. We tried different spreads and they were all good! We were torn between coconut & coffee but we eventually chose coffee (voted by my 10 y/o). We also got a medium box with great assortment. Their brigs tasted so fresh you can tell they were made with love!

Stopped in to pick up some sweets and got to practice a bit of Portugese with Maya, who is super-gracious and kind! She answered all my picky questions and was very helpful in picking out the best treats. The new cookies are fantastic!

I've loved Maya's Brigadeiros since they were a vendor at Cookie Con many years ago! I placed an online gift order for my sister and made a mistake with the address. When I contacted Maya, she was the sweetest and fixed it right away. My sister and her family loved the large Sweet as Pie as a Thanksgiving treat. Wonderful sweets with an equally lovely owner!

What an amazing gem of a place! The space is so beautifully crafted! The brigadeiro are delicious and handmade and so beautiful!!! The owner,artisan is so knowledgeable and such a lovely person! I will definitely be back for more of these masterfully made edible art pieces!

Maya the owner was such a delight to communicate with over social media. We received our Valentine package yesterday. The flavors were so rich, creamy and delicious. My entire family really enjoyed these freshly made sweets. It was our first time having Brazilian sweets and definitely won’t be our last! Thanks for making our day special.

I tried Maya's Brigadeiro at Cookie Con like seven years ago, but haven't stopped thinking about them since! I think this is a testament to how good they are, as I haven't had the chance to eat any in the interim but still remember them. They were truly bites of joy, so soft and flavorful! I can't wait to have them again.

Maya herself is usually working behind the counter, and is such a kind and helpful person with any questions you might have about the sweets. And not just sweets—I also highly recommend the pão de queijo that she makes, perfectly cheesy and gooey Brazilian cheese bread! Lastly, Maya's brigadeiro favor boxes for weddings and parties are incredible, if you're looking for a truly unique favor that all your guests are sure to enjoy. We had brigadeiros as favors at our wedding, and Maya was beyond helpful throughout the entire process in choosing and designing the boxes, as well as which flavors to pick out. Couldn't recommend her more highly!

Unfortunately when I had them shipped postage was due 9.10 after prepaying. Very disappointed but received email immediately back from Maya and was corrected. Happy to be a repeat customer and share with my friends and family.

Talk about a random gem find while grabbing dinner. I saw a random sign that said free samples of these interesting looking sweets that caught my eye. I went inside and was greeted by an awesome worker named Kim. She explained that the sweets are almost like a truffle with different flavors. I had a sample of the pistachio and oh my... of course I had to get a 6 pack. Truly delicious and I'm so glad the sign got me to go inside. Easy 5 stars and highly recommended

I've lived in Sherman oaks for a couple months now and just stumbled on this place on our walk and I'm obsessed. Firstly, Maya is so friendly and personable as soon as I walked in the door. Secondly, the brigadeiros!!! I loved the sweet milk and my daughter loved the classic. Overall, we are happy we got to have some of our favorite dessert here in LA. Next time we'll try the pão de queijo!

My daughter and I love stopping in here for a brigadeiro treat, and we always find a few other delicious items to try. The seasonal varieties are always fun, and I've brought assortments to holidays and parties to great success. Recently Maya's offered overnight shipping for last chance orders for Valentine's Day, so I clicked and sent a box of brigadeiros to my 80 year old aunt in Florida. They arrived on the day and she loved them!!

Maya's brigadeiro's are scrumptious! I walk past here pretty often when walking to and from the local grocery store but had never stopped in. A couple of weekends ago, I decided I'd like to check them out. Maya was as sweet and welcoming as her treats! We sampled two different options and I purchased a little box to enjoy with my Mom later that evening at the Hollywood Bowl since their sweets game hasn't been up to par lately (by enjoy with Mom I mean me hand her one and then proceed to eat half or more of everything else in the box). I showed my grandma a pic of these and she wants some, so I'll definitely be back in very soon. If you are looking for a nice little dessert or treat to enjoy or gift to someone who enjoys chocolate I'd say this is a perfect option. It's different and not everyone (like really, no one else) is making brigadeiro's. I find them to be such a unique and thoughtful local treat to surprise your friends and family with. I also enjoyed hearing the story of how these treats came about. I'd tell you, but I think you should support a small business and go hear it for yourself. I think you'll really like them.

was just stopping by to pick up my dry cleaning and decided to try this since it's next door and omg i'm blown away by the texture and taste. (i just tried the apple cobbler one - the granulated sugar on the outside is so satisfying) never had anything like this before it's a true flavor bomb! maya, the owner, served me and she's super friendly and kind. definitely coming back for holiday gifts! 17/10 bonus, it's gluten free!

This place is AMAZING!! I ordered a 1/2 dozen brigadeiros and they were so delicious!! I got the dois amores flavor and wow oh so good!! The owner Maya is so kind and was able to ship them to my address! They arrived promptly and I was transported to the tastes of my childhood growing up in Rio and my mom would make me brigadeiros every Saturday!! They were better than my mom's but don't tell her!! If your looking for a bridal gift or a Father's Day gift or you just want to treat yourself get your brigaderios!! Also you would be supporting a woman's owned business! It's a win win!! Yes, it might be cheaper according to you but I don't think nestle is different from Belgium chocolate . Everything is a point of you . I am talking about texture , yours is very sandy and I have attached here the REAL brigadeiro texture for your reference and Yours, so you can compare . Thank you for sharing your thoughts too

Luckily stumbled upon this gem yesterday, Maya was getting ready to close and greeted my cousin and I so warmly! We followed her inside where she explained the origin of Brigadeiro and shared that a lot of the recipes are family recipes. The decor was so cute, the display was neat and the treats... beyond delicious!!! We sampled a few of them and ended up getting a dozen. My favorite included Cafe Au Lait (the pearls add a nice crunch) coconut, the Niño and coffee dark chocolate! I definitely recommend stopping by and treating yourself. Not only are the treats amazing, Maya's warm and inviting personality make this place an immediate favorite!

Brigadiero!!! These are Brazilian truffles that I was able to try and buy at smorgasburg this past Sunday. Maya who is the maker and owner of these sweet treats. She was so nice to let me try a couple flavors and explained what it was. I decided to get some and it was a great treat. I liked the coconut one the best. The flavor was excellent. Also great was the chocolate salted pistachio. The texture from the pistachio gave it a nice crunch with the creamy inside. I loved learning and trying different cultures and their foods

Mind-bogglingly good treats. So worth it. We bought six but wanted more. The coffee flavor is to die for.

As I said on one of my Social Media posts, Maya's Brigadeiro Brazilian Sweets is my Newest Sweet Obsession! These little balls of yumminess are made with the best ingredients and with love. You can easily taste the love in every bite! The Brigadeiro is Maya's family recipe that was handed down to her from a family member in Brazil. I love family recipes and when they are shared with the general public, it continues a family's legacy. It also opens up different cultures through taste and we all love the language of food. I stumbled upon Maya's Brigadeiro Brazilian Sweets while at Smorgasbord in DTLA. We got into conversation and I will say that Maya is genuine. She has a wonderful disposition and is very proud of her Brazilian sweets. I would be proud too if I could make these tasty little treats! She has different flavors available and YES I decided to try two of all of them. I honestly cannot say which was my favorite because all of them were delicious in their own right. If you cannot decide she offers samples for you to try. Brigadeiro is definitely a must try if you have not indulged in it yet. If you are going to try it, you might as well do it right. Alright, I was an online order but I can EASILY say Maya was still super sweet when dealing with me over the phone. I had placed an order, wanted to check my status so I called and lo n behold Maya actually picked up! I love that she's actually the person there making her desserts and dealing with customers. She was really helpful, kind, and considerate when helping me and even though the brigadeiros haven't been eaten yet by my friend, I straight up just have to give 5 stars for the great service.

Maya is amazing and the brigadeiro is the best in all Los Angeles. The paõ de queijo is stellar as well. The store is small and adorable.

Maya has made an absolute gem for the Valley. First of all the Brigadeiros are delicious. If you haven't tried them they are utter sugar heaven! The consistency is so rich but the flavors just subtle enough to appreciate all the differences. And if you have had a brigadeiro you will have these and just say "yep she nailed it." Add to it that Maya herself is so knowledgeable and friendly and you have a great place for your sweet tooth. And I send my Brazilian students here when they miss home. They've thanked me for directing them to something they miss from home. Do yourself a favor. Go visit Maya.

Maya's Brigadeiro are so special. The packaging is always gorgeous; the brigadeiros themselves are just so pretty; and they taste divine. Generally, they are devoured immediately. We use them for family gifts, business relationship thank yous, event favors, and anytime we want someone to feel our love. We love when we are able to stop by the shop, but also love the convenience of online ordering.

It's just like a Japanese or French chocolate! It's not sugar sweet but very pretty and tasty . Very good high quality chocolate ! Great gift ! Also great for tea party ! She shipped to all over places ! Highly recommended stop by !

The next time you're thinking chocolates, skip your typical variety box and try Maya's. I had no idea what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised: Brazilian brigadeiro are something special. They have a rich, smooth, creamy texture that I've never experienced before. My family has tried several flavors now, and our favorites include the coffee dark chocolate and the coconut. I haven't been inside the shop yet, only ordered online, so I'm looking forward to my first visit. I'll have to keep Maya's in mind the next time I want to send someone a special treat that is out of the ordinary.

Tried their brigadeiro and they were delicious! They remind me of Filipino pastillas or yema. Maya, the owner, was so friendly, helped me and my friend choose her bestsellers, and didn't disappoint. Plus points for having their own parking lot! So easy to access. I highly recommend!

Visited this shop for a birthday present for a friend. I was helped by Maya herself! She was so welcoming and explained to me that these were made from her family's recipe. I even tried one and it was delicious. I look forward to visiting again

These were awesome! I had a Brazilian friend introduce me to brigadeiro and when I saw a shop my daughter and I decided to drop in. Maya was very friendly and welcoming and her brigadeiros were awesome. I think Black and White are my fave, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

So naturally, I'm leaving a review right after Valentine's Day, but only to say WOW this was awesome. My girlfriend is from Brazil, so I really wanted to get her a taste of home for Valentine's day, and Maya's did not disappoint. We (somewhat embarrassingly) ate the whole box of 48 in 2 days. Our favorite was the honey almond, but there wasn't a single flavor that we got (traditional chocolate, coconut, coffee, honey almond) that we didn't rave about. My girlfriend's comment was "you know it's good brigadeiro when this classic is this good". Would gladly order again.

Absolutely the best customer service and the Brigadeiros are stunningly beautiful and incredibly delicious. My daughter wanted to bring some brigs to her history class as a special treat for her presentation on Brazil and Maya and her team went above and beyond for us. We could not be happier and we highly recommend this business not only for the high quality product they provide, but also for outstanding customer service. This review is way overdue-I was introduced to Maya's Brigadeiro at Smorgasburg LA and was instantly hooked! my favorites are the passion fruit, sweet milk, and classic chocolate. I've given these as gifts, and they've been a hit since it's different than the usual chocolate truffle box. Highly recommend!

I came across Maya's sweets at a local maker's fair a few years back and I'm so glad I did! I've made several purchases for myself over the years (I won't judge you for eating the sweet milk Brigadeiro spread straight from the jar). I recently connected with her to send over 65 Valentine's Day gifts out to my work colleagues. Maya made the bulk ordering process a breeze and was there to answer all of my questions. Upon receipt, one of my colleagues summed it up perfectly: "She is a master at balancing the texture, sweetness and flavors - I am especially impressed by her mastery of cocoa. A lot of candy makers don't know how to make cocoa that's that strong so palatable. Super impressed."

Maya's Brigadeiro is the best! Their delicate treats are my favorite and such a great gift. I've been eating them for years and love love love them. If you are in the Sherman Oaks area you need to check them out. On top of it, their customer service is great, warm and so inviting!

I had the good fortune to run into these lovely ladies at an Artisinal LA Market event, and have been smitten with their delectable creations ever since. It is my newest sweet-tooth obsession. Thank God for free samples because you have to try each and every one! If you've never had a Brazilian sweet like this before, it's a little difficult to know what to expect. It's not quite a truffle, not quite a caramel chew, but something in between, with the perfect consistency every time. What really sets hers apart though, is the perfect balance of flavor and texture in each one. The Coffee Chocolate has rich, decadent coffee notes; the Sweetmilk has the thickest, creamiest milky flavor with just the right amount of sweetness; the Coconut has the perfect coconut taste with just a bit of chewiness from the coconut flakes they top it with; and the chocolate is, of course, some of the most decadent chocolate you will have in your life- even fudge doesn't compare. I saw a few other offerings at their table, but really, if you're going to try anything, it HAS to be these mini truffles. The price is a little up there. The smallest box of 6 costed $12 at the event. But even that shouldn't be enough to deter you. Just take reeeaaallly small bites each time, and they should last you a good while. Mine lasted two days. But then, I do like my sweets.

Amazing desserts that are in a league of their own. I won this box through Maya's Instagram contest and was at my door step almost immediately. My favorite is the pumpkin spice and caramel. Thank you thank you for this gift to my tastebuds!!

We purchase these for year-end gifts for clients, and everyone LOVES them. They have even set up well for gatherings as they are individually portioned (and not the usual cake pops or cupcakes). My children love them, I love them, we all love them.

Don't get the 5 stars reviews.. low quality and overpriced for what it is. All for supporting local small business but this was disappointing

Yum! We had passed this place and finally stopped in today. We got to taste the yummy brigadeiros and of course brought a box home, in addition to a brownie. Everything was delicious and we will back! Especially for that brownie... omg!!

Went to this place for the first today. It was a wonderful experience. I got to see so many different kinds of brigadeiros, (had a sample) and so many fantastic snacks that brought me right back to my childhood in Brazil. Maya is so friendly and welcoming. Left this store with A LOT of goodies!! Will definitely be back soon!

I have to admit, I haven't tried these candies yet. But I did send them to my friend as a "just because" gift, and she cannot stop raving about how delicious they are. She calls them crack - which is a compliment! lol I ordered late in the day on a Friday, so the candies were made and shipped the following Monday and my friend received them Tuesday morning. I will definitely order this candy again, and I can't wait to try it myself.

Pretty sad...Stumbled upon this at Unique La and my box of treats are gone and this jar of sweet milk is all I have left. Going through withdrawals and need to reorder asap! Every time I take a spoonful of sweet milk it just brings a smile to my face!!!
