"McCord Butchery is a new family-run butcher shop in Jefferson Parish, offering a selection of beef, veal, lamb, wild game, poultry, and seafood. The shop is notable for its wet-aged beef, additive-free pork, poultry, and game products sourced from smaller farms. Daily products include Australian wagyu ribeyes, tenderloin brochettes, Angus short ribs, Joyce Farms whole chickens, and various seafood like Chilean sea bass and scallops. The shop also plans to carry specialty meats and sells wine, beer, liquor, charcuterie meats, cheeses, and other accompaniments. Special orders are accepted." - Clair Lorell

McCord is fantastic-all kind, helpful, knowledgeable and they sell beautiful meat and specialties. I’ve purchased duck, roasts, eggs, fine salts, even alcohol. All lovely. I’ve referred two ppl there this week alone. It was a regular stop on Vets until I became unemployed and had to scale back a bit. They are a destination I look forward to returning to very soon.

Fantastic steak! They’ve got nice items you won’t find in the big box stores as easily such as veil liver and raw milk

I was not greeted with a nice welcome to the store being my first time there we actually walked out I felt not welcome. We are African American. The meat in the store nice looking and good quality.

One of my absolute favorite places in the New Orleans area. My wife and I shop here often and always leave incredibly impressed. We truly love everything we’ve ever purchased from McCord’s!

Just left, lovely selection of wines, cheeses, meat, prepared foods, sauces, and broths. I ordered chicken skin they went out of their way to purchase them on my behalf even though they didn’t directly sell it. I appreciate them so much because I couldn’t trust going to another place because of cleanliness.

Purchased a prime ribeye and some mushrooms tonight. The ribeye was probably one of the most tender I’ve ever had with great flavor. And the mushrooms were a great compliment. Paired with a bottle of silver oak.

Sam, Jacky, and their staff are very friendly and helpful. The meat and fish are always fresh and of the highest quality. We also love their eggs, produce, cheese, wine, and Chef Robert's pecan pie. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Located just before the 17th St. Canal in Metairie, this new specialty foods store/butcher/seafood market is a welcome addition to the city. The pantry offerings are relatively slim, but good. I purchased some cherry jelly that specifically is meant to be paired with cheese. There is also a supply of local produce. I grabbed a couple of onions and garlic and was wowed by some huge, beautiful Brussels sprouts. The proprietor recommended I shave them and add olive oil, honey, lemon juice, and pecorino followed by a brief refrigeration for a unique, fresh salad. I did, and my guests went gaga over it. The star of the show is the meat offerings. I did not procure any on this visit, but will be back for a stunning filet or ribeye. There is seafood, too-scallops, salmon, and sushi-grade tuna amongst other things. I bought a single premade crabcake and pan fried it at home for dinner. The best crabcake I've had outside of Dickie Brennan's. I'm racing because they deserve it.
