"About 1,000 people — including fast-food workers, union and non-union supporters — gathered in Midtown in front of the restaurant at 4235 Woodward Ave. to demand higher wages and union rights as part of a Fight for $15 strike. Demonstrators shut down Woodward Avenue and set up a table in the street; police ordered the crowd to clear the roadway, and 18 people (organizers said 20) were arrested after some participants, including Rashida Tlaib and Abdul El-Sayed, continued to sit at the table. Those taken into custody are expected to be released with misdemeanor tickets for disorderly conduct. This was the worst experience I had ever experienced in a very long time. My sister and I were on our way back out of the city from shopping downtown. So, we stopped to get something quick to eat. We went through the drive thru and sat about ten minutes with no other cars there with us. Until we decided to say hello, to get some service. Then a young lady with not so great customer service came on the speaker. Very dry speaking can I help you. My sister started speaking and gave her code from the McDonald's App. And was informing the young lady which deal she wanted with the code. I can not even tell you how or why the conversation became where the young lady became irritated with taking the order from my sister. Then it was my turn, I gave my code for my order. The young lady raised her voice a little and was like no you can only do one code per car. We tried to explain to her we have completed this kind of service many times at a lot of other McDonald's. Then I was like okay never I will go in and place my order. One thing is for sure you never argue or upset someone preparing your food or just needing service from. We pull off to park to go in. Mind you my sister never confirmed or received confirmation for her order being completed. We get out of the car to walk in. And a young lady at the drive thru started hanging out of the window of the restaurant speaking loudly at us, you can not use your code inside from the drive thru. We were then even more confused by her behavior. Like she never gave any confirmation on my sister's or my order to say okay or this is your total. But, by this time I need a manager. So, when we get in the restaurant some staff are mumbling and looking at us like we trying to cause a issue. But, if they heard the conversation from the drive thru, to someone yelling from the restaurant windows they should have known it was not us. Once again, I needed a manager. An older gentleman came out after we stood there for a couple of minutes. My sister at this time was over it. We were tired from shopping and hungry we just wanted something quick to eat to get back on the highway home. But, I wanted in a calm way to explain the issue or he could at least know amd explain somethings to me. Well, all we received was the young lady was correct we could not give her our code in drive thru and then walk in and get our food off the same code that was used. Eventhough, we were trying to avoid a possible already irritated situation to get any worst at the drive thru. I travel to offices working with employees on giving outstanding customer service no matter what, about their body language and how to watch their tone of voice in situations. Not saying they should have bent over backwards for us. As a manager to a manager I expected a lot more from him. And he gave absolutely nothing. And what I mean by that was, when we came in he already knew the issue. He should have greeted with a smile and asked how can I help you. And not waited for us to tell him the issue we had. He then should have politely stated I do apologize for any confusion. I store does have a policy were one code per car. But, how can I help you now. A conversation like that goes a lot smoother for the customer and the staff. Once, again we all need more training in taking care of our customers who we would like to return. They is why I would never walk into a place being a bad customer. I know what that feels like to experience someone who is not having a good. I just felt terrible because it was so many opportunities to turn our experience around and no one cared enough to do so. That is the part that bothers me the most. Where would any business be without their customers? Let us all do better, because we need each other.

I was very disappointed by the behavior of the manager, Tiffany, during my visit. The way she spoke to employees was rude, antagonizing, and completely unprofessional. If an employee made a simple mistake, there was no need for her to speak to them in a nasty or demeaning manner—especially in front of customers. Mistakes happen, and a manager should lead with patience, respect, and proper coaching. Instead, her tone and attitude created an uncomfortable environment for both staff and customers. This type of behavior reflects poorly on the restaurant and the brand as a whole. Tiffany would benefit greatly from additional management and customer service training. Employees deserve to be treated with dignity, and customers should not have to witness such unprofessional conduct.

I've been giving this McDonald's grace, it's always something wrong when I come here or it's the attitudes of the people who work here (MANGERS to be specific) but today I'm confused on if this is a 24 hours McDonald's why is it that my mobile app was canceled while I'm sitting in the drive thru for over 10 mins with no one coming to the speaker. Then I finally drive around to leave and they are outside the door on a cigarette break. This is unacceptable customer service and I will not be back, l'll take the extra few minutes to drive to another location. If you don't want to work nights then find another job.

Love the service! I ordered curbside pickup, and my pregnant wife used the bathroom and said it was really busy, but th bathroom was very clean. I didn't even get halfway through my 8-minute video, and my food arrived. Great, fast and friendly service in downtown Detroit. Just a few blocks from Ford Field and Comerica Park NFL and MLB stadiums. Staff members were helpful and knowledgeable. Food was made hot and fresh. Quick preparation and everything we ordered was was correct and the exact way we wanted it. Everything was great! Clean restaurant and restrooms. Plenty of parking and seating along with an outdoor patio area, weather permitting. Highly recommend this McDonald’s if you’re in the Woodward, Midtown, Brush Park areas of Detroit!

Decided to stop in here for a quick bite to eat while running errands. I ordered my meal through the McDonald's app but decided to sit inside to eat. My food was delivered to me hot and fresh despite the breakfast period being almost over. This was my first occasion to do dine inside since they remodeled the location. It's modern and vibrant inside. There were multiple tables occupied with diners. It was quiet enough inside even for the person on his laptop working.

i went here at 12am a few months back, i was leaving the haunted mound angels tour and the food was good. i mean its a mcdonalds its not gonna be the best food ever. service was fine, nobody was rude, just quick and simple. i've never been to michigan before so the vibes were normal. nothing bad. i don't really think its bad or good, just neutral :)

This McDonald's is so hit or miss it can be maddening! The service is usually pretty good and the restaurant is clean . I have had some very good representations of McDonald's food come from here, but when it's bad it's really bad. This morning we were given our breakfast sandwiches. We both ordered the sausage McMuffin with with egg and cheese. One look told me that the English muffin was not toasted . Immediately after biting into one of the sandwiches, there was a crunching sound. What followed was pulling eggshells out of both mouth and sandwich. It made the egg portion of the sandwich inedible. The amount of eggshell had to have been noticeable to whoever cooked it. My problem comes from being served something that you know is not okay. Then expecting the customer to either just deal with it or have to take time returning it. In this case there was no time to make a return trip or call. I would hope that in the future the cooks would consider the time of the people they are serving.

2nd time to check in at this location. Loved the fries...served hot and crispy. Ordered via app but there is still a queue for walk-in and online customers. The chicken tenders smeared with ranch sauce was good enough to eat. With the app deal, I had free fries and a drink. The tables were clean. In the case of the restroom, had to ask the cashier to open the door for me. Almost all the McDonald's in Detroit have locks for certain reason. Don't have any problem with that. Shake shack also has a lock for the doors. Limit of 30 minutes, or you will be asked to leave the restaurant without ordering any food. They installed flat screen TVs on the wall. Little bit slow on the service but they maintained the quality of fries and tenders they serve. Unlimited refill and free WiFi.

Don't go here. Server was rude, on his phone entire time he was talking to us. Did our whole order on the slow kiosk for it to crash at the end. Worker said i wasn't allowed to use my coupons that the kiosk let me use. Swearing and yelling at each other all the time. Walked into the bathroom and the toilet seat was ON THE GROUND next to the toilet. Scary.

This place is a joke. One person taking orders and she's a snail. Do not hire an elderly woman who doesn't understand technology to take orders. Come on management you are to blame for all of this... do your job. UPDATE: This place is painful to witness. I live in midtown and I expected this location to be up to par with the booming neighborhood, it's not. This is my third visit and every employee has a negative rude attitude including the manager (older woman). This place let's a homeless regular stroll thru the restaurant begging for money. He's been here all three times I've visited this location. The proprietor of this location needs to wipe out all their employees and start looking to hire College students in the area. If ownership needs direction/consulting please contact me, I will help out for free.

Yeah the girl in there are so rude and ghetto to everyone. I went here specifically after a long day for a simple order. Before I could even get my order out over talking me asking what drink I want before even listening to how I want my sandwich made. Service was horrible, they gave me the wrong order 3 times . Also I ordered a medium coffee and they gave me a small and lied and told me the small was the new medium . Until I looked in internet and seen the size cups immediately took coffee back in showed receipt and internet sizes of cup an then they gave me the medium size cup. A lot of foul language used by staff , also a lot of vagrants hanging inside and outside pan handling .

It's a McDonalds and who loves McDonalds? Kids!...But to be honest, I would not bring children to this location. I brought my 6 year old here, and it's not something I would do again. Micky D's on Woodward Ave has to be the single worst, most unprofessional McDonalds I have ever been to. Unorganized, foul mouthed employees that should probably all be replaced. While we were there an issue came up with a drive through customer...From the back I here one of the employes yell loudly "She asked for a plain fu*king mcdouble, so I gave her stupid a$$ a plain fu*king mcdouble" It was then the customer came into the store and more obscenities began flying back and forth, giving my child an earful of foulness. This went of for a good 15 minutes, before I finally decided to leave.

we walked in at 10:05 and got yelled at because it was closed. Lock the doors if you're closed??? then we went through the drive thru and it was a DISASTER. my friend aiden tried to order a shake and she said "we don't have shakes". then he ordered a lemonade and she said "we don't have lemonade". then aiden asked "so what do you have" and she just said "uhhh regular drinks". we just ordered two regular drinks and you didn't have them period! so he got water. then we actually waited 30 minutes for the food and they kept asking us if we paid and what we ordered. organize yourselves!! we watched like 6 cars dip out. we think they accidentally put his water in as sweet tea so it took them 5 minutes to switch that to a water. the food was moderately ok, one good sandwich and one bad. hot fries. you can do it guys. focus improve.

Literally WTF is wrong w the workers at every McDonald's in this area???? Any time I've gone to this location, Mack they mess up the order. Every time. I ordered through Grubhub and they forgot all of my sauces, straws, fries, nuggets. Who the HELL orders nuggets without a sauce?????? Of course I got sauces. Truly, how hard is it to get someone's order correct? Especially when the receipt is ON THE BAG and you can easily see all of the items I ordered??????? The driver can't even check what they messed up (since it's a given something will be forgotten) because there are stickers closing the bags. You'd think its fucking rocket science the way they act. Seriously get your shit together what the absolute fuck. You guys ruin everyone's day every time you go to work and choose violence. F you.

Drive thru wait times are absurd. Sometimes 15-20 minutes or more. The fries are often cold. The last time I went, I saw the massive line of cars and decided to just try going inside to order. Inside was practically anarchy behind the counter and, big shocker, I waited about 20 minutes for my 10 piece nuggets and (cold) fries. When I got to my car, I realized they gave me two boxes of nuggets, one labeled 4 piece, the other labeled 6 piece. Turns out they put 4 pieces in both. I wasnt about to go back in and wait another 20 minutes just for two nuggets. This place is pathetic. If you really want fast food in this area, just go to Checkers up the street.

This is not so much a fast food restaurant as it is a waiting room for Hell. The wait is that of a Soviet era bread line. If you are lucky the panhandlers will try to bum money off you in a respectful way. The place is filthy, the bathrooms in particular. I'd advise against making a special order of any kind because, while they've never screwed up my food, the messing up of orders seems to be rampant here. And you know what? I don't even blame the staff. It''s bad enough going here to eat; I can't imagine working in this hellhole for eight hours a day. But, hey, they've got good food, right? Ya ever seen Super Size Me? Mmmmm, unhealthy burger from cows that grazed o'er burned down Amazon rainforest. Good ol' Mickey D's. I'm loathin' it!

This was already the worst McDonalds I've ever been to after getting my order wrong time after time. Their ownership and management is beyond crooked with their connection with the illegal operations of Breakthrough Towing that I fell victim to. $500 later I will never ever go to this McDonalds again and everyone else should avoid it at all costs as well. Today, October 6th, I've had one of my worst experiences at a restaurant in my entire life. My group of friends and I were excited to have a nice, comfortable breakfast. We arrive at 6:05, and the opening hours say that the restaurant opens at 6:00 AM. The cashier at the front named Katrina made judgmental eye contact with all of us when we first arrived, and completely ignored us. We were forced to wait outside the restaurant for 30 minutes before she finally unlocked the door. Once we were finally let in, Katrina gave us absolutely the worst customer service we've ever received. I was thinking of what to order, when she says, "So y'all was standing outside for 30 minutes and still don't know what you want to eat?". My friends and I were appalled. Katrina absolutely should not be working in a public space if this is how she's going to act.

It's too bad that yelp doesn't give zero stars. I was a paying customer of this McDonalds one night around 8pm. I parked in their lot and put my receipt of my meal in my windshield and ran down to the corner of Canfield and Woodward. The parking lot was empty so I wasn't taking up a spot that someone else needed. I came back to the parking lot 30 minutes later and my car was gone. The McDonalds employees had called Breakthrough Towing company to come and illegally tow my car. The towing company said I had "abandoned" my car, and then told me it would cost $420 if I wanted my car back. THIS MCDONALDS COSTED ME 420 DOLLARS. I will never go here again and you can bet I will be telling everyone I know about this experience and writing a letter to the owner of this business. Advice for anyone who goes here: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR ON THIS PROPERTY NO MATTER WHAT.

Was on a business trip and stopped by this location for lunch. Ive been a road dog for twenty plus years eating out five days a week. I have been to thousands of different fast food resturants during that time and I have never felt the need to leave a bad review even after a bad experiencea until I cam to this location. The employees were acting like junior high school students laughing and joking with each other while people were standing in line. If I would have known it would have taken twenty min I would have left than but I didn't. When I finally did get my food my fries were cold. Went to ask for new fries and you would have thought I just ran over the managers puppy (later I found out it was the owner that acted like this) no wonder her employees are out of control. Skip this place and find a different McDonalds.

First my sausage mcmuffin was burnt. Second place is dirty. On windowsill by booth there is dead fly and two dead bees. I worked at McDonald's in high school and our manager rode us all the time about cleaning eating area for customers. Not sure what person is managing today...but they need to tell employees to clean. Can't imagine what kitchen area looks like. Foul on so many levels and it is not even busy.

Came here last night with a friend and got food, we were eating inside when I looked out the window and saw them towing my car out of the parking lot. Pros: -24/7 drive thru means you'll be entertained at the drunk people in the parking lot at 2am -employees are extremely friendly!! -food is better than the mcd on Mack -lunch is served at 11am on weekdays and weekends -convenient location Cons: -there are homeless people who stand outside, will bang on your window, and yell and harass you. Management actually will listen and respond if you complain about it. -wait times are hit and miss. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes the drive thru is so so slow -they've gotten in the habit of giving me ONE NAPKIN for my entire to go order. -___- more napkins please..at least give me two.

This Mickey D's is great because: 1) it's clean 2) bathrooms are serviced hourly 3) it's pretty inside with plants and artwork 4) they are engaged in community activities 5) wi-fi 6) 24 hour drive through 7) decent outdoor seating area One drawback is that they are often very busy and slow..... And lots of homeless people spare-changing cars in the driveway.

Wow. So slow. Only ordered 3 things. Hot drink was barely warm, as were the hash browns. And the cinnamon roll was overheated. The frosting was mostly on the wrapper. It was a gooey mess. So disappointing. I have a friend who owns a dozen locations in Florida. He would be livid if this were one of his.
