Highlights

This classic fast-food staple is always a gamble, serving up burgers and fries alongside a generally chaotic vibe and slow service at the airport.

Service was pretty slow. I have waited more than 20 minutes after placing my order. This does not include the time I have waited while standing in a queue. The dining area wasn't clean and there was not enough space for me to sit and eat my food. So if you are in a rush then don't waste your time here.

Google
Dirty dining area , very limited seating even though they have a bigger dining place but it was closed, my burger was overcooked and dry

Went with my family last week. The staff was incredibly rude to us… We waited a few minutes for someone to take our order because it seemed like none of the employees wanted to go to cash. A girl finally gets to us to take our order, we start to tell her what we want and the girl just leaves mid way. She gets another girl to take our order and she wasnt better… She kept rolling her eyes and had a really mean tone. She charged us large drinks (when we asked for small) and they didnt put lettuce, tomatoes or mayo in our burgers even though we paid for that… Really bad experience, the dining area is also really disgusting and not well maintained. They need to get new employees that can at least speak in a friendly way with the customers

Google
I was next in line when I saw one of the workers without gloves. I said to her can please put on gloves you're handling food. She Instantly gave me an attitude with a Jamaican Accent saying "lady leave me alone an nuh badda wid mi" She's rude and disrespectful. When one of her coworkers said to put a glove on she said "I don't care, Let them fire me". I'm sorry not sorry but personality like that shouldn't be working as a customer service or up front.

Raw uncooked spicy chicken sandwich. Yes, that gray color is mold on the breading of the patty. I would've gladly waited longer for a cooked sandwich. No apple pies were available, but the app didn't inform me before hand.

Was at the airport with on Monday January 13th between 12-6. The girls working there were the rudest people I have ever came across. Talking back, rolling their eyes, and arguing with customers. They did not get our order right and had no interest in fixing it just pushed us out the door. They made the wrong drink for someone in front of us and when she said she ordered something else the argued and rolled her eyes at the customer. I told that customer they were rude to me also and she said they are always rude here and they never have good customer services. McDonald’s franchise needs to do something about it!

Google
The staff at jfk airport terminal 4 ms Simone was awfully rude and with no manners bad behaviour with no remove no apology she literally was throwing money at the customer which had to be picked up from the floor .. agin no apology and no receipt for the extra sauce.. I will not buy or recommended anyone to buy from here ..

Jade W.

Google
Service is terrible. The milkshake is out, and she didn’t say anything. So when we switched to meals, she just rolled her eyes. Got the burger, lettuce looks days old. Do not eat here unless you’re just getting fries. Also, they only serve bottles for soda, so you also get up charge plus bottle deposit for it.

Alan W.

Yelp
I was in JFK airport waiting for my flight home and decided to get McDonald's. I ordered 2 hamburgers extra pickle and a large fry no slat. I found that the prices where a lot higher than my local Mcdonalds. The service was a bit slow. The staff where fine and seemed friendly. I went to my seat near gate and ate my food. The food was fine.

Blair M.

Yelp
I just had the worst experience. They got my order wrong 3 times in a span of 5 minutes. The man putting together the bags/handing customers orders was extremely rude and the told me i was trying to make things difficult. I asked for sausage cheese McMuffin no egg. They kept giving me the same sandwich with egg each time. He dramatically threw away the sandwich each time and gave me a mean look and rolled his eyes. I was nice and calm the entire time. Someone like that has no business working in the customer service industry. The manager gave me a refund and was the only person to apologize. I waited in like for 30 minutes for that god awful experience.

Kate W.

Yelp
Beware of this McDonald's if you have less than an hour until your flight. First of all, the line moves slower than molasses. My order was forgotten about or lost, it took 30 minutes and multiple reminders until I got my food. When we finally got the food one order was wrong and one was completely missing. Oh and we didn't get any sauces that we asked for. The service industry is hard but for up charged fast food, the order should at least come out either correct or in a timely matter.

Jonah F.

Yelp
Since I never wait on line because of the McDonald's app, my experience is good. I go to this place almost daily since I work here. The employees are knowledgeable and courteous. The food is better here than other McDonald's locations. Save yourself from long lines -- use the app.

Mama K.

Yelp
We needed a quick bite before our flight out of Terminal 4, so we stopped at McDonald's. It was 2:50 p.m., so it wasn't the lunch rush. The tables were filthy and none of the staff seemed to care. We ordered 3 Quarter Cheese Meals, 2 with a Coke and 1 with an "Unsweetened Iced Tea." I put it in quotes because that's what I ordered and that's what is printed on the receipt. What I received was a disgustingly sweet iced tea, but the line was long enough that I didn't want to go through it again. I just needed to eat my food and get to the gate. The food wasn't hot... just warm, which gave me concerns about food safety issues. And the cost for all this? $42.65. At McDonald's! For 3 lunch sandwiches, fries, and beverages. I would rather go hungry than eat here again and waste that kind of money. It was unacceptable.

Kalyn E.

Yelp
This McDonalds is really a hot mess. Nestled in JFK next to the A gates, I'm sure this place puts through hundreds and hundreds of orders on the daily. So what's the problem you ask? Well... I'm not sure. Maybe it's a staffing issue. Maybe it's something else. I stopped here on my way thru JFK for a breakfast sandwich and my morning caffeine fix. I ordered a #3 biscuit meal and small caramel macchiato. The cashier rang up my order. $3.69. She didn't add my food on there. So I explained to her I needed my food added. She just looked at me. I asked her again to add it. She looked at me. Her manger came over and added it. After the meal was added. I ended up laying close to $10.. which is a little nuts. I get my drink and food, sit down. And realize I didn't have a straw. I get up and ask for one. Sit back down. Realize I didn't get my hash brown so I had to get up again. Ask for it and the manager was insistent he gave it to me. After I confirmed I didn't have it, I got my hash brown. Maybe this is typical for this busy airport McD.

Connie F.

Yelp
The wait is extra extra extra extra long! Do t waste your time. Go to another place. You might leave your order just to make your flight. Fo'real!!!! The board to que people was bogus and not used at all!! First trigger. When we did get our order it was 90% wrong!!! Egg, cheese, bacon biscuit are NOT fried chicken biscuits. Ugh!!! Ooooh!! Terrible service and we ran to catch our flight.

Frank J.

Yelp
Got our food in timely manner for how busy they were, order was right every time. Seating area was secluded and very nice/quiet

Erik B.

Yelp
Had to write another review about this place after my first bad experience. I got food poisoning from here about 2 weeks ago and I know it was this McDonald's because I had breakfast and dinner with a few people and had the same things they did from other places this day and nobody had reactions. Will definitely not go back here. Word of advice: if the chicken nuggets don't look good.. don't eat them

Jasmin K.

Yelp
Awesome. I came here 2x in a month. First was Hawaii trip in Sept & now in Oct for Las Vegas trip. Order thru app. You won't wait. You get your food in 5 min or less. This one cashier doing register n making coffee by herself. She speedy gonzalez & the other worker in back makes food fast. Hot & fresh. I got large caramel iced coffee for 99 cents (deal online only), chicken biscuit 1.50 & hash brown 1.50 (hidden bundle doesn't advertise in store) paying only $4.34 on app. So satisfied. One of best experience I've had an a McDonalds.

Henry M.

Yelp
Waited 30 Minute to just a Sausage Biscuit and a Soda. Only 1 person working the Register and Serving at the Sametime with 1 Cook. Employees moving slower than anything else, no motivation. There is also no quality control. Food and Soda were completely off. I would recommend eating elsewhere

Léo Y.

Yelp
Having to wait 3 hours before my flight, I was walking around the airport just to find all the "Airport prices" and I decided to dine at good oldcDonalds hoping to get the global McDonald's quality. When I McD, I don't expect any surprises. If I order fries they should taste like everywhere around the world. What I found (or didn't find in this case) in my favorite alway ways freshly prepared filet-o-fish was a very shocking practice a McD, the king of fast food burger chain can do. This McD will skimp on only providing "half" of the processed cheese as you can see in the photo. Service was any airport staff. Just staff members doing their time. I guess just because they are airport location and get all the customers they want from the world, they don't care to cheat on customers. On top of that they charged me extra for a sauce. (just a mysterious 30 cents up charge in my order) Next time I visit JFK, I'll remember to pick up a sandwich from a Starbucks which would have been well worth the money and business. Shame on you JFK terminal 4 McD! That's horrible business practice! So far, I'm not lovin' it.

Shaquita Y.

Yelp
I really don't expect five star service at mcdonald's but i do expect basic things. i don't normally eat mcdonadls. and when i say normally, i mean ever. a late flight to jfk left me with no options before my 5 hour flight to iceland so i bit the bullet. i ordered one of the safest things here, i think. the filet of fish combo. well. with a sliver of cheese and tarter sauce everywhere, i got an interesting combination when i bit into the sandwich. it was clearly pre made because the cheese was cold and hardened. sending this back and the airport would've given me nothing but more trouble so i avoided it and just decided to take another loss in the airport.

Aaron S.

Yelp
With little choice in regards to dining at JFK Terminal 4, I opted for McDonald's as despite being really overpriced it offered one of the safest and only places, I could get a meal which I know would be suitable for my gluten-free diet. The store is a decent size for an airport location as it does have McDonald's seating but it is mainly aimed at the go market, as expected due to it being an airport location and after security. I opted for a sausage and egg with cheese, without the muffin - it was a small portion, obviously I get it was supposed to come with bread but surely they could have added an extra sausage/egg etc in lieu of this as the menu selection did state the plural "sausages", one patty wasn't good enough - the food was reasonable, the cheese, however, wasn't melted. My food did take a while to come with many people being served after me, I presume it was due to the complexity of my order having to be made fresh to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, and also it could be the fact it was part of their All Day Breakfast (I wish they did it in the UK!), as later on in the evening this might not be as popular for example. Normally this would get two-stars especially at the price but due to being one of the only places I could get food at the airport which I know would be safe, sometimes it's just worth paying that extra fee even if everything is average at best. 3*

Keith H.

Yelp
Prior to a recent flight, I had a hankering for some McDonald's; I thought this place was solidly average. The staff were efficient in handling the line, which moved relatively quickly. The person who took my order provided workmanlike service, and to be honest, I was not expecting the most personable or friendly greeting at a busy, airport fast food location. I ordered a sausage McMuffin with egg, and it was well-made and what I expected. There's an ample amount of seating available if you decide to eat your food in-house, and it looked like the restaurant was doing a good job in keeping the tables clean.

Emil C.

Yelp
With America trying to become "healthier" these days, I have found that it has become increasingly more difficult to find a McDonald's at an airport! The line was pretty long, so there was definitely still a big demand for the golden arches. I got in line and ordered 2 Sausage Egg McMuffin Sandwiches for the price of 1 using the McDonald's app on my phone. Even though there were a lot of customers waiting for their order, the food was coming out pretty quickly, so I got my food with minimal wait time. Their dining area was pretty spacious and clean while I was there. There were a couple of signs posted that you're only allowed 30 minutes to enjoy your food, no loitering. I'm guessing it could get packed in there really quickly during peak meal times.

Dean S.

Yelp
This place used to be awful, but it has gotten a lot better. I work at T4 and get a meal here about once a month. Sometimes you get annoying things like they forget a sauce or what have you, but the food is the same as any other McD just with the airport up-charge. The employees can be surly, but if I had to ride the air train to work at a fast food joint at a busy international airport, I wouldn't love it. And really, they aren't as bad as some other places here in T4. There are some very nice and professional ones too and they are a pleasure to interact with even if it is brief. However, they move the line, they overcome language barriers very well, they help foreign customers with counting unfamiliar money and explaining things that might seem easy to us at a fast food joint but not so much for that dude from Uzbekistan. All in all, this place does very well considering the unique challenge they face of feeding the busiest terminal at JFK to people from literally all over the world.

Eric C.

Yelp
There are maybe a handful of times that I would consider eating at a McDonald's. Most of these situations occur while I'm traveling to get something that is reliably fast and consistent. What will vary is the convenience of the location (well most are conveniently located being that they are the only types of foods that you may see in certain areas) and the service. Here at the JFK airport in terminal 4, there is a McDonald's with a pretty decent sitting area. I found the service here to be quick and pleasant with all my food ordered correctly. Of course, I went for the "tasting menu" getting both the chicken tenders (which are delicious!) and the sausage egg mcmuffin without cheese. Now that they offer the breakfast menu all day, there's really never a bad time to eat at McDonald's! They keep their drink cups behind the counter because it is a serve yourself fountain. You can refill as many times as you want until you leave the vicinity. The sitting area is kept clean and there are usually spots available for you to enjoy your food without standing up. Appreciated the employees here that despite not being the most glorious of jobs that they did it well anyways.

Nimrit G.

Yelp
This place is the epitome of disgust, and the employees, INCLUDING the manager, are completely inconsiderate. Didn't get our order right, the manager taking orders was having all the conversations in the world to be had while a line of hungry travelers are trying to get a quick bite. She invites my boyfriend and I to order at the counter then proceeds to strike up conversations with workers who seem to be paid for doing nothing. The dining area was SUCH a mess, we were thoroughly disappointed and with our appetites spoiled, we left with our food to try a clean dining area. I wish I could give this place negative stars because they severely lack anything and everything that would keep this establishment open.

Jando S.

Yelp
Virtually everything at Terminal 4 is overpriced and super crowded. WIth nothing good to eat, people will line up at this McDonalds as soon as they open and the crowds never quit. McDonalds being the most famous chain in the US coupled with lots of curious foreign travelers, is practically a win win choice when the only fast food competition is a crappy KFC Express (http://www.yelp.com/biz/kfc-express-jamaica) and a super bland baguette joint (http://www.yelp.com/biz/upper-crust-jamaica-2). Airport versions of Mickey Ds are hardly cheaper and are usually not great, this location is by no means any exception. Anything under $7 isn't enough to get one a "value meal" and their appears to be no dollar menu (which apparently is being phased out). Since the lines are usually pretty lengthy here, service is automatically shotty. Most of the people behind the register have little patience for the ESL (English as a Second Language) crowd and just want to get the order over as soon as possible. Once the food is available, be prepared for McDonalds mediocrity but know the options can always be worse at Terminal 4.

Mike S.

Yelp
Incredibly terrible customer service. This place treats customers as a shit. Of course I do not expect the excellent customer service from the fast food restaurant especially in the airport but this place is horrible. A black lady who took my order was very rude. I think my dog behaves much better.

Schnovey B.

Yelp
Opens whenever it wants too, supposed to be 6am but sometimes its 6:15 sometimes after. The staff acts like they aren't getting paid to work here so they constantly have an attitude. There's one girl that is consistently nice to customers and employees that work here. If you're traveling through the airport on the run for an economy seat, you'll be sure to get a FIRST CLASS attitude from here. The food is whatever, if you've been to one Mcdonald's you've been to all! I only come to this place when I don't have time to make breakfast at home, which is rare.

Siying X.

Yelp
If I can get lower grade, then I will get them less one star. Today, I buy a Mac and I ask they to give me a cup for water. Their answer is they did not get cup for airport employees. I surprise they did not get water cup for customers.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Poor service Coffee was burned and sandwich was cold They did make the food quick Avoid if you can

Margaret L.

Yelp
Horrible. Lines can be long. Overpriced airport food. Customer service here is lazy and rude. The employees obviously don't enjoy their job. The menu is overpriced, there's no 20 piece chicken nuggets for $4.99. :( So I had to settle and get a chicken sandwich. They charge for EVERYTHING here, including condiments and TAP water. It cost 0.50 for tap water, I know some places charge 10 cents but 50 cents! They feed off the hungry travelers who will paid anything for quick, decent fast food (it's not that fast). On the up side, this is the only place I could find in the airport with cheap food since it is fast food, everything else cost a little bit more. So unfortunately, I might come back for the crappy food and service. Also, when I ask for no salt on my fries, they don't do it. They're lazy. They still salt it lightly. I've been to MCD who absolutely puts NO salt, so I feel like they can't even accommodate my request.

Amy C.

Yelp
I hate when people are serving you and not paying attention, got breakfast before boarding and I told the person 1 extra item. I was puzzled when I paid too much. Got our order and she doubled it. She was on the phone and speaking to her coworker about going to the pool during the week. Pay attention to your customers, I hate McDonald's.

Guillermojo H.

Yelp
The level of rudeness here is so bad it made me laugh. I felt sorry for the young lady who helps me because I think she must absolutely hate her job. When she told me the price she barely muttered it and it seemed too high. Since there was no price display for me to see I asked her how much. I said it sounded like to much and then gave me a different price that was lower. I think they must do this to tourists that fly in and don't know better. I believe she may have been the rudest person I've met in New York. I scrubbed the table for about 3 minutes to get the hardened crud off of it. Otherwise things were ok.

Ashley F.

Yelp
Tried to eat here today before my flight and gave up . Line was 20 people deep and not moving.

Stephen C.

Yelp
The McDonalds in JFK Terminal 4 is proficient. They give you what you order when you need it. We ordered a mcdouble and fries for $5 as well as some chicken nuggets. Great for the plane ride back to Cali. Overall: might return to buy food for the plane ride if I ever land in JFK again.

Victor A.

Yelp
McDonalds was the most reasonably priced option in T4 amongst the overpriced sandwiches. Having said that just like in T7 the McPick Menu is 60% more than outside at $4 instead of $2.50. Sure we understand at the airport retailers take advantage of a captive audience but 60% really is excessive profiteering. The line was very long but did move. I liked that this location has seating and the food tasted fresh, possibly they changed the oil today or because they are busier the change the oil more frequently than the one in T7.

Kyler W.

Yelp
Well, I didn't expect much being that it was a fast food joint in an airport. I did however expect to be greeted and acknowledged. Upon arrival we were met with "What do you want?". . . Maybe try a good morning or what can I get for you. The lady taking our order stopped taking our order to start another order for someone else on another register. This was frustrating. While waiting for our food we also heard an employee get short with a customer who didn't understand what they had said when they asked them what the customer wanted to drink. The employee just looked up and shouted "DRINK!?" The food was fine and par for the course with regards to any other McDonald's. I would've gladly given them 4 stars for a smile and not seeing them yell at someone not from our country. Hopefully that person doesn't travel home thinking all Americans are like that. Management - please have a talk with/train your employees about customer service. It's just as easy to walk down to another restaurant.

Chen Z.

Yelp
Needed some breakfast. Grabbed a sausage egg n cheese. It tasted like McDonald's. The seating area were out of napkins. There was a McDonald's employee barely cleaning just standing and playing on his phone and didn't bother filling up the napkins.

Alexandra K.

Yelp
Apparently KS#3 at JFK Airport Terminal 4 McDonalds thought the appropriate way for her to respond to my questions was to stand there silently staring at me. Rude staff. She found more joy in joking with her colleague than answering my questions. Nasty.

Emet G.

Yelp
The worst, rudest, lazy workers EVER! Been coming to this terminal for years, each experience gets worse. Don't bother asking for extra napkins, a bag, or a straw or ketchup or ANYTHING they just stare and you with there NY attitude and ignore you. Few years ago I had a worker take my order while she was in her cell phone, and yes ended up getting my order wrong, I nicely told her it was the wrong order... you would think I just started WW3 Do yourself a favor set low expectations here! The worst!!!!!!

Debra C.

Yelp
Ok I just ordered a frozen medium frappe and I waited and waited and waited and other numbers being called over my number. I asked somebody about my order and they just said it was coming. So I waited and waited and here to find out the machine was broken and they just didn't tell me. I guess they just figured my flight would come and I would just leave. After over 30 min wait. I received nothing. So very unorganized. If I could have given them a zero star I would have :(

Rhonda A.

Yelp
It's McDonald's & it's at the airport. That should be the end of my review right there. Nothing spectacular about the place, although they did just move. So now there's a nice little seating area in the back. You get to choose your own drink, if you get a meal, but they do have a employee standing there policing you. I guess to make sure people with water cups only take water. The attitudes of the workers are the same for McDonald's workers everywhere. No matter what time of day you go, they're most likely angry at life because they're working at McDonald's. I usually go here when I'm craving chicken nuggets at work or if I'm doing an overnight shift and I'm hungry. This is the only food place that's open at 2am. Yes I know it's not good for me, but I'm fat and I like chicken nuggets. With that being said, you would think at 2am, service would be quicker... no... no it's not.

Gabe O.

Yelp
Busy busy busy mcdonalds, per usual, but worth getting a good ol american meal before your intl flight #BonVoyage

Chris Y.

Yelp
Notable because, quite seriously, this is the worst McDonald's food I've ever eaten. One generally eats at a McDonald's because you know what to expect, and it should be the same no matter where you go. I did not expect such awful food!! Stale, gross french fries and hard, dried-out Big Macs. With how busy they were, I would have expected the food to be a little more hot and fresh. Combine that with outrageous jacked-up airport prices, and you've got a perfect example of a one-star operation.

René B.

Yelp
This must be a joke. We ordered 4 Triple Cheeseburger. Each one is about 4$ (combared to 3$ in Manhattan). After a while we got 4 Double Cheeseburger (Not Triple Cheeseburger). We asked the employee for our right order. So she explained that we ordered the times cheese on our burger and this would be a Triple Cheeseburger. By the way: Wrapped in Double Cheeseburger wrapin. So: wrong Food, high prices and our food was cold at all. Worst Mc Donalds I've ever eben to.

Coco R.

Yelp
horrible service!! crew and managers are always rude i've worked at mcdonald's before and i certainly never treated my customers this way!

Mishari A.

Yelp
No orange juice so u have to get a soda! No small size so i have to get mediam or large! So pay more And its more expensive than other stores! I came here just beacuse i'm hungray and dont want to eat more before my flight

Maritza B.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for some deep fried food this is your place. I must say that they do have some pretty amazing deals and sometimes they even offer coupons. The drive-thru was always easy to navigate and fast. They do serve breakfast all day and the coffee is discounted. The fries are good and not too salty which is great. If you want ketchup with your fries you have to specify otherwise you just get fries with nothing

Esther C.

Yelp
If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. First of all, I ordered a cheeseburger.. came with NO cheese. Then to make things worse, saw a worker who picked his nose with gloved hands!! Disgusting.

Tyrone T.

Yelp
I order 2 egg McMuffins,no Cheese. These aholes give me some crap with cheese and no ham!!!!! Incompetents or lazy jerks..either way fire em! Order 259

Nicki G.

Yelp
We waited for the McDonald's to open since it is one of the earliest opening restaurants in the airport. We waited for the first two customers to finish ordering and my mom went forward to order. The cashier told her that she wasn't in line (keep in mind that its 4:30am and there is no one around) and made the excuse that her friend was next (though he came way later than us). Is the cashier blind?? I am so concerned!!! Get some glasses please, and maybe some common sense along the way. Did she not see my whole family standing there waiting?? If we weren't in line, then what the hell were we doing? Window shopping??? Earlier the same cashier let this lady order first because she "was waiting longer", okay no problem! I understand that. But why is it different when my mom is ordering? Absolutely terrible and lost my appetite because the way the cashier treated my mom made me feel so upset, even though my mom was patient and kindly let the cashier's friend go first. I agree with the 2 star overall rating of this place, the staff absolutely sucks. Not worth it.

Jason G.

Yelp
This McDonalds is in Terminal 4 of JFK and was the only place open at around midnight on a Thursday. After taking the late flight and missing dinner, I was glad to get some food even if it was fast food.

Patrick H. K.

Yelp
yes im lovin it. No im serious. I fckn love mc dondals breakfast in america. Its so good. So healthy *laughing* no its a pretty damn good breakfast. 10 dollars are okay! Service was beautiful! Very friendly people :)

James J.

Yelp
I'm a mcdonalds regular and without a doubt, the customer service here is the worst I've ever experienced. I flew into JFK at midnight and happened upon this mcdonalds. Made my order and was greeted with the surliest service I've ever experienced. (No apparent reason for it, just seemed to hate life) I chalked it up to it being super late at night so I have them a pass. On my way bak through JFK, I gave them another try at 8am. This time the people working there were even grumpier than the last time. God forbid you ask for ketchup!!! Then they screwed up my order... Not sure why everyone here seems to hate life so much. I don't think that a modicum of customer service and general politeness should be to much to ask. If mcdonalds corporate is listening, FIX THIS STORE!!!

R M.

Yelp
Worst McD s I have ever been to. The food is ill prepared and the service is HORRIBLE! Order whatever you want it does not matter because you won't get it. It will be some other random thing off the menu. If you visit this location.......Good luck
