"The Fulton Pub has anchored the southern end of the waterfront for nearly 100 years and has been in the steady hands of McMenamins since 1988. Featuring the expected elevated pub fare heavy on Northwest ingredients found throughout the franchise, the Fulton location sets itself apart through especially cozy charm. The small dining room, limited but lovely street-side seating, and less-than-ample street parking all but telegraph that this is a neighborhood joint and not necessarily a destination — all the better for locals enjoying a leisurely Terminator stout or seasonal cider. Yes, Keanu Reeves drank here once, and, yes, your bartender will tell you all about it." - Rebecca Roland, Nathan Williams

Yelp
Probably the smallest McMenamins property is also close to one of my favorites --- or at least it's the one I frequent the most. That's likely cause it's nearby but also because it has that warm welcoming vibe of a neighborhood pub, an unpretentious local hangout where you encounter faded decor and familiar faces. It's a pretty small space inside though, which is good/bad, but I will note the service is always friendly and attentive and there's an additional outdoor patio area out back - a nice little secret spot that's not on the street out front, hidden away from the outside world. I know McMenamins usually gets a bad rap for their uninspired food options but I've always found the Dilly Tuna sliders at this location pretty damn tasty. Your results may vary.

Yelp
10 stars for service, 4 stars for food and 3 stars for beverages. My family likes to walk here and sit outside to have snacks and drinks on the patio. We love when we make the happy hour, for little corn dogs, crispy tots, and sliders. The drinks are okay, but there isn't a tasty cider I've tried here. I had a decent apple mimosa today but won't order cider here, even as it's my go-to drink. I love that there's a baby changing table in the restroom too.

Yelp
This is a fun cozy little bar. We found the food to be timely and delicious. Our servers were full of enthusiasm and joy.

Ana R.

Yelp
My absolute favorite location year round. In the summer, the patio is great and in the winter, it's super cozy inside. Service is always consistently good even if they are slammed. Food is always good.

Bobbi G.

Yelp
I ordered take out from this restaurant on the recommendations of several coworkers and it was excellent! I ordered a bacon cheese burger which was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The fries were delicious too. Good food, friendly service. I did not take a picture, sorry!

Dave K.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times. Had a great gin martini. No surprise on the food, it's predictable McMenamin's fare. Nice calm neighborhood pub. Workers here are always sweet.

Carolyn R.

Yelp
Super cool neighborhood hang out. Small place. Friendly service, but since they are a part of McMenamins, this dive bar food is overpriced.

Yelp
Great happy hour spot near Willamette Park! My friends and I split an order of Cajun tots from the happy hour menu. It was a very generous serving for $5 and a solid basket of tots. Highly recommend! We also shared the cider flight, again excellent value for only $8.50. This comes with an apple cider (light and crispy), a blackberry cider (tart and my favorite), and a seasonal cider which was a sweet raspberry. All three were excellent. I also ordered the hummus plate, which was underwhelming. The pita was uncooked and the hummus was chunky and bland. Highly recommend Fulton Bar for a late afternoon happy hour!

Yelp
In comparison to other McMenamins - you know the vibe, and you know what to expect - this place was super sub-par the night I was there. Service wasn't super friendly, and it was very obvious that the server was having a hard life-time. She was rude and made feel like my very presence was inconveniencing her. I won't go back there again, and it kind of tarnished the "McMenamins" name.

Yelp
Fulton's Pub is just around the corner from my friend's place and was a stop on his pub crawl/tour (I visited from California). They have an excellent variety of spirits and beers with lots of seating inside and out. Initially had a not so great visit, but this had to do with one staff member and not the business as a whole. You can tell McMenamins is a fine hospitality group that cares about the experience they're creating. They listened to my feedback and reached out to me. That is all I could ever ask for!

Yelp
What a disappointment. The interior comes across as a dive bar that is trying way too hard to be hipster. With that being the first impression, we were expecting to have pub food at pub prices. Wow. We were wrong. Not that they didn't serve pub food, they totally did. But the prices are so outrageous that I wonder if they should've been wearing a burglar mask when they handed us the check. Three pretzel sticks. Nine dollars. The fondue that was served with it? Reminiscent of the cheese sauce you get at the movie theater with nachos. When delivered to us, the cheese even had a film over the top of it showing that it must have been sitting under a heat lamp or something for a while. I had the half pound of chicken strips. These were supposed to come with a side of ranch, horseradish honey mustard and Cajun tater tot's. I neglected to take a picture because I was in shock at the $17 meal put before me. It consisted of three VERY lonely VERY sad looking chicken strips. Clearly taken from a bag of frozen chicken strips and baked. The tater tot's weren't Cajun tater tot's. There was no horseradish mustard dipping sauce. And, overall, it was an incredible disappointment. It reminded me of a chicken strip basket that you would get at Long John Silver's or some other crappy fast food restaurant. $8-9 worth of food. Not $17. Even though we came during happy hour, the restrictions on what beers qualify for happy hour certainly don't seem like a typical happy hour. I think there was one beer(an ale) that qualified for happy hour. Certainly none of the IPA, ciders, or sours. I rarely give anything less than a three star review but cannot in good conscious recommend this pub for anything more than just a casual beer outside on the patio.

Farouk A.

Yelp
I live right around the corner from this bar. I probably stop by once a week during the nightly happy hour to grab a burger or something. Normally, I have great, food and a pleasurable experience with the staff. This week however, I noticed a new cook on the line. She completely undercooked my burger and I felt unwell the next day. I trusted she checked the temperature of the food cooked but perhaps not in my case. Not sure if I'll be back. But If i see her at the line I know to just get a beer!

Yelp
McMenamins a solid name in the restaurant/bar industry. This location is small. Take out was an order due to Covid restrictions. We ordered a dungeon burger with tater tot's and a Scooby snacks with tater tots off the kids menu. The order was completed and packaged up within 10 minutes... Very fast! McMenamin's uses good meat for their burgers and it isn't like eating a frozen hockey puck. I will say however they only use 6 ounces of beef on their burgers and therefore the bun overpowers the beef. If they could add a couple more ounces and make it an 8 ounce burger it would be way more competitive are use a thinner bun. The tomatoes on the burger were green... I would rather have no tomatoes than green tomatoes on a burger. The mushrooms, bacon and Swiss cheese were perfecto. The tater tot's were perfectly crisp. And the Scooby snacks were crispy bite-size snacks. Really good! All in all it was good but I would say increase the size of the beef pattie if possible, if not add an option for a second pattie , double, to your menu. And just say No to using green tomatoes. I will be back!

Yelp
Despite my previous experiences I have returned to this location. I'm happy to report, there have been improvements made to the service, and overall it's a chill bar vibe. However I'm capping my review at 3 stars because McMenamins has so many exceptionally unique and cool locations around the state, that the Fulton pub falls short of (to no fault of their own simply just the location and size.) If it were someone's first McMenamins experience I'd recommend going elsewhere. If you're looking for a chill late night bar with reliable pub food, this is a good option.

Chris D.

Yelp
Been waiting to write this until I had a few visits in case any experience was just an off day. The food has gone way downhill. I always enjoy the atmosphere but the food is barely edible these days and leaves you feeling gross. I usually get a burger or the El Diablo which should be in their wheelhouse but not anymore. I hope they can improve the food because it would be a shame to lose this place. There isn't much else in the neighborhood.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
The service was terrible! 8 patrons in the pub, 3 people behind the bar, we sat 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order and another 20 minutes for a Vodka Gimlet and a Terminator Stout! 20 minutes later, someone asked if we wanted to order food (we had already expressed this to the person who brought our drinks.) We ordered off the happy hour menu , hummus plate and corn dog bites. It took another 35 minutes for the food to show up. Really poor service considering the bar was more than half empty.

Armetta S.

Yelp
I love everything about McMenamins, I think it truly defines the PNW. Their food, drinks, service and decor is always top notch. The Fulton Pub is no exception, small place with a huge outdoor area and a great atmosphere. We are on the hunt to finish our passport and this place was one of our favorites. Check them out!!

Jason C.

Yelp
Fun spot. Super chill with very friendly staff. Food is solid, and they've got a lot of beer options. Nice spot for a casual bite.

Hannah G.

Yelp
my experience at Fulton pub was amazing! my waitress Caitie N. was so personable and kind! The food and drink was alright, but Caitie's service made my trip a stand-out experience.

Kyle C.

Yelp
vibes: 10/10 chicken tenders: meh Lemonade: 8/10 - no Burgerville fresh fruits in the lemonade type of lemonade Cajun tots: 12/10 - extra zesty - the 'large' cajun tot order is in-fact LARGE, do not underestimate the amount of tots they serve in the LARGE serving size service: 8/10 - The server wasn't all too friendly *He was quite pushy trying to get us to leave sooner despite me and company having an open tab

Yelp
Late night happy hour from 9 to 11 PM. This is the best news ever. Can't find any late night places in the middle of the suburbs that is as fun as McMenamins. Yeah I know a couple of the other bars are open late. When I just want some good food, conversation with friends and family. This is such a great place to go.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Tried to come in with a Table of 7 for 1 beer each for a Birthday. Balding guy named Corey was rude and told us to sit outside , we went outside to sit and he began yelling at us to not touch the heaters or fire pit and that we should have "called ahead" super un-professional even for a mediocre beer bar . We asked if we should leave and he said yes ......Will never come here again . Passive aggressive bartender on a Friday night .

David B.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood bar! A great place to have a drink and maybe a light meal/apps. Love the ambiance and the service spot on.

Jessy M.

Yelp
Our bacon cheeseburgers were amazing. The bun was perfecty toasted, burger was fabulous and I have been before and it was good before but great this time. Megan was our server who was also doing the cooking, highly impressed with it all. Excellent customer service, excellent food. This is one of my favorite mcmenamins. Very impressed by it all and the ability Megan had to multitask it all. We were in and out in an 30 minutes too.

Yelp
I want to start the review saying that I totally support and love the idea of McMenamins. The preservation and repurposing of older buildings is fantastic and I like the themes in the different bars, restaurants and hotels. I even support these institutions despite a mediocre food and beverage program. So why the low review? The service at every McMenamins is the same and horrible. I've had the same experience at about 5 of these restaurants and this one was no different. After waiting to be seated, I finally got up to the bar and was told "there's only three of us, looks like you're going to have to wait." Mind you a patron had just been seated before me and the restaurant was not full. I did grab a table which hadn't been cleared from the previous customers and watched as the staff cleared and served other people who came after I did. I don't know if I offended them by just showing up or they didn't like my look or demeanor. Either way, the staff seemed overwhelmed, disinterested and not attentive. We did eventually get served. The beers we had were mediocre McMenamins' fare. Since this experience is ubiquitous to the various McMenamins places I've visited I wonder if it's a company ethos to have too few people working or hiring staff who are easily frazzled and pass this onto the customer. If the work environment isn't good for these people I hope it can change. I've come to call the initial contact with staff where we are ignored, put off or not served the McMenamins welcome. This behavior went on long before the pandemic and had continued or worsened. I hope others don't get the same experience.

Yelp
A classic Oregon spot. Small funky pub with about as much outside seating as inside. It was too cool to take advantage of the outside when I was there, but it looked like it would be very nice in warm weather. Very friendly servers but a kitchen that has a limited capacity, so output may be slow when they are busy. But that's okay, because the beer is great and the food is worth waiting for! I enjoyed a really nice golden ale on nitro. Smooth! Since I wanted something reasonably light after driving all day I opted for a salad with bacon, blue cheese, and added grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was nearly sizzling when the salad arrived. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I wanted to update my poor review from yesterday because after I posted the review, the Pub took the time to reach out to me and apologize - which shows that they really care about their customers! My usual experience here is stellar and I'm thinking / hoping yesterday was just an anomaly! If you need a cozy booth with some usually comforting and yummy pub food this winter, give this place a try! I used to go to this place quite a bit but today - the service has gone downhill as well as the food. I order the same tuna sandwich every time. Today for the first time it was awful. The tuna was freezing cold and lumped onto toast with no care. I waited forever to get my bill - my usual server who is awesome was on break and the new server was engaged in deep conversation at the bar with the apparent new cook who made me the awful sandwich. They even ignored me when I finally went go to the register to pay, and continued their conversation, refusing to look at me, until I interrupted them. And they weren't busy, just rude. If management is reading this - I hope you address it because this is a goto in the neighborhood but certain staff changes have not been positive. Thank you!

Wyatt S.

Yelp
I'm sad to give such a poor rating. I really want to like the Fulton pub because it has a nice back seating area and great location by the river. But the service is a little hit or miss, even when it isn't terribly busy, and on three separate occasions (over the course of a couple years) I've received a sandwich with a moldy bun. The most recent time, I ate half the sandwich before noticing. The staff is always nice and I've been refunded/comped when I've been fed mold but I can't go back for a while. Hope they get it together.

Bruce S.

Yelp
We were here a while back and loved it. The restaurant has a warmth that is welcoming, the food was wonderful, and the beer was great. That's a 5 star review from me anytime. I know there are McMenamins all over Oregon and especially in the greater Portland area. The menus vary from place to place and none of them seem like they are a chain of restaurants. Corina had a deluxe hot dog and I had a salad. We split some fires and of course there was beer involved. Was able to dip our fries in the yummy Portland Ketchup Company ketchup. It is just one of the best ketchups in the world. I had to bring a bottle home with me.

Yelp
Update in response to Troy: Inflation isn't to blame for your $9 small order of tots. You've always been overpriced and mediocre. For you to think you can jack prices up just because "inflation" is getting headlines on Fox News doesn't mean your tots are worth $9 or your beers are worth $8. Your burgers were worth about $7 before "inflation" so they're not worth $16 now. Btw, I'm willing to come down with a scale to measure how much liquid fills your "pint" glasses and I'll be happy to correct myself if I'm wrong. Yes, your front seating area is nice and yes the beer brewed there is better than mcmenamins writ large, but unfortunately that's not saying much. Enough is enough, and I wish more people had the sense to say the same.

Gracie C.

Yelp
I really enjoy this location. You have the option to sit inside, in the front, or in the back area, which, by the way, is back to the left, as well. I thought it was just the one area that you see when you walk outside. The food is great and came within a reasonable amount of time. The beer list is pretty good and had something for everyone in my group. Service: Oh, why, oh, why, can't they get it right? Everyone was nice, BUT...we waited...and waited...and waited...and waited... Again, they were very nice so did give them 4 stars. FYI: The visit was August 18, 2019. Yes, I am a little late in writing it.

Kelcey T.

Yelp
Great service! Had the RUDEST server. Not going back. You were unwelcoming and we apologize for visiting. This was our 5th visit to this pub. Had an amazing and welcoming service before this experience. Thank you for throwing not only your bad attitude but also tossing the check. Hopefully you are nice and not this complete blah all the time. =)

Bijana K.

Yelp
The McMenamins Passport program has taken me all around McMenamins properties. Even after visiting every single McMenamins location -- TWICE! -- I have to say that the Fulton Pub holds a special place in my heart. It's not exactly in my neighborhood, but every time my husband and I get down to this little pub, we love it a little more and it feels like our neighborhood pub. It's small and friendly and what I think a pub should be. My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Fulton's brewer (yes, that single, they have one guy who brews onsite for this location and he's been there for years!) during a specialty tasting and didn't realize he was the guy we'd been sitting at the bar yacking it up with about topics like cats and dogs, toxoplasmosis and alien mind control. We've done loads of brewery tours, but learned even more at this tour. Well done, Fulton Pub. See you soon.

Mike T.

Yelp
Came here for a beer and a snack. Seems like they would benefit from another server, the guy handling all the front tables was working his ass off, but just too many tables for one person in my opinion. Unfortunately, they seemed to forget about me waiting and started seating people who arrived after me first.. Beer was fine, just decided to get their happy hour Ceasar. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to serve it. 6 dollars for a handful of lettuce that was clearly dumped out of a bag, some croutons and a sprinkle of im guessing, Costco grated cheese. I'll try one more with the other food since their classic bar food seems to get better reviews.

K L.

Yelp
Out waiter made a mistake and the manager tried to charge the mistake to the waiter, having her pay the whole bill to apologize, saying she is new, which is not OK. I paid for the mistake to save the waiter. Looks like this establishment is going in the wrong direction in how they treat the customers and their workers. I will never visit this place in the future because I don't want to support such a bad management style. Visited on Sat 27 afternoon. Update 7/29 Manager's response to my review is unfortunate because when the waiter said she will pay my whole bill out of her own pocket for her mistake, manager said OK and they both started walking away from our table, manager ready to charge my full bill to the waiter. I stopped the manager and paid the bill in full, in the mistaken amount, plus tip. I have the receipt and the witnesses. I recommend not to support an establishment which throws their employees under the bus. Contrary to Fulton location, Colombia River location in Vancouver has epic management and service, with good quality food and great views.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Nice little pub with a private back patio; perfect for sunny brunches or happy hours. Great little neighborhood spot for those in the area. I visited a few months ago on a warm weekday, had a tasty garden burger and a Ruby. My server was helpful but didn't hover and I ordered, ate and left within an hour (pretty good by McMenamins notorious timing).

Dana H.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to coming to this neighborhood pub for awhile -- we keep walking by, but hadn't come in yet. This place was NOT good. We arrived at 7:20. We placed our orders by 7:30 or so - a sandwich and a veggie burger, totaling about $30. At 8:15 (45 minutes later!) someone came out and told us they were out of what I ordered. I placed a new order, and asked a question about whether the soup had bacon in it. The waiter, not in the friendliest way, responded that he didn't know, and the guy who made it left. He didn't offer to find out. After a moment of me waiting, finally he said "do you want the barley mushroom?" I said sure. About 25-30 minutes later our food finally came out (I kid you not, well over an hour after we initially ordered. There were only two of us at our table, and three other tables in the entire restaurant -- they weren't particularly busy.) Anyway -- they brought the order, and it had a totally different soup. It was terrible; it tasted like they had opened a bunch of cans of beans and corn and some other things and partially warmed them. When the waiter came out later, I asked him about it, and he said "Yeah, they didn't have the mushroom barley. The other guy was supposed to tell you." Were we there on an off night? I was so surprised this place has four stars!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Fun staff and the burgers are great. I wished they stayed open later during the week.

Brian L.

Yelp
The return of the Stormin Norman is reason enough to to visit Fulton Pub. The atmosphere and helpful staff make it enjoyable.

caitlyn r.

Yelp
Amazing food and even more amazing service! Avocado socks and I will be back soon. We highly recommend the sweet potato friends and the pulled pork Tavern burger. Well be back next time we're are in town.

Shawnee N.

Yelp
What a gem. This cozy little pub is located in St. John's Landing. It's small and quaint with booths and a nice bar. I had a tasty Garden Burger with mushrooms and cheese along with Blackberry Cider. This is the perfect place to meet with friends or a date. It's romantic, funky, with a mystical vibe. The staff is super nice, and I just love the place. I will definitely be back.

Geneva R.

Yelp
Service was mediocre at best. Not like the other mcmenamins I've been to. We were ignored when we came in and not seated for several minutes. When seated and ordering they asked for I.D's for the drinks we were ordering. Two people in our party were Guatemalan. And one of in our party has a vertical license still but is of age to drink. The ages ranges from mid 30's to 22 at the youngest. They turned ALL of us down and wouldn't serve us drinks. They messed up our order, and brought the check to us early to get us out of the bar early. I can understand having rules for license but this just seems a bit rude and possibly racist. Did not appreciate the attitude of the workers. Not only that but it was an age restricted venue, if they were not going to approve the identification, they shouldn't have served the party in general. They clearly just wanted the business. 0/10 do not recommend.

Amanda W.

Yelp
We've always been a fan of the McMenamins chain. We've loved our experiences at this specific location. The dungeon burger is our go to!

Don B.

Yelp
Good Not Great - Very Small Pub We went there for burgers and beer. Started with an artichoke dip & Chips that was pretty good. The hamburgers were all a bit overcooked and lacked any real flavor. Fries were ok but would have loved them to be a little crispier. Nice selection of beers as you would expect. Over all the service was really good but the food was just average and this place was a bit too pricey.

Kip L.

Yelp
I initially resisted the temptation to Yelp about my experience with Fulton Pub but I have lost my patience now that I am getting pressure from their insurance company to file a claim!? Here's the story: My family and I ate at Fulton Pub a few weeks ago. 3 of us had hamburgers & tots and one of us went for the grilled cheese. Almost exactly 30 hours after this meal, the three of us that ate the hamburgers became violently ill, to the degree where we could not leave the house and had to send the fourth (a young child) out to stay with other family members. We were out of work and school for 2 days despite all losing a few pounds when it was all said and done! We started working backwards after we were well enough to assess the problem...we became suspicious of this meal. The timing and the fact that all four of us had eaten the pretty much the same thing for all other meals made a compelling case that something went wrong around the time we were served by this kitchen. I went online, filled out their comment card worried about the FP staff or others patrons that may have eaten there that night. I also placed a call to the county health department. The next afternoon I got a call from the general manager. To his credit he had already performed an audit of the temperature log and although he had not yet gone to the restaurant in person he planned on doing so the following day. He also felt that the timing was suspicious and shared with me that they were taking this very seriously (apparently there are many false-positives that are weeded out because they happen too soon after a meal). He suggested that the mayonnaise was a prime suspect but that by law they can keep it for up to 7 days. This batch was only 4 days old and so it should be OK. He was very interested in whether or not we had seen a doctor and was very apologetic. The next call I got was from the head insurance adjuster for the MM's empire. He also seemed to be highly focused on whether or not we had been to see a Dr. He indicated that an insurance claims agent would be contacting us. I should point out that we never asked them to do this, this claim thing is completely unsolicited and I can only assume is just protocol of the MM back office. Since this time, the GM has called back to check on the status of that Dr, and the claims agent has called twice attempted to get a "recorded statement" from me. She said that our claim would need to prove "negligence". Wha? It's as if they are responded to the threat of a lawsuit or something? I replied that if I was making a claim I would be the one to initiate that, not them. It's totally bizarre! The told me they would be contacting me again in 10 days to see if I want to file a claim. As it is, we did go to the doctor and for any that do go down this path with a restaurant in a similar circumstance: keep in mind that any proof you uncover is still complicated and subjective. I felt better about this before it seemed that they were putting such tremendous effort into mitigating risk. Sadly, I think I am passing on returning and that's too bad as I really do love their beer.

Jon S.

Yelp
Great little spot in John's Landing. The entrance is quite deceiving, lots of seating inside and on the rear patio. Met up with some friends for local brews and food. Nothing surprising on the menu, but good pub fare.

Tom J.

Yelp
We were apprehensive. We were house sitting for relatives and they live off that stretch of Macadam that isn't really quite Lake Oswego, but getting close. Our dinner options were not great: either very expensive places or kind of meh places. We decided on Fulton Pub, which is a McMenamin's, at least we would know what we were getting into. It did look very cute from the outside and inside, it was like a warm and inviting pub on a cool, dark night. We lucked into the last booth available. Service was definitely a bit on the relaxed side, they seemed to have almost no staff. Dinner was a shocker, it was actually really great! I had the Dungeon Burger, ooohhh, scaryyyyyy!! Actually, it's just a burger with Swiss and 'shrooms. My love had the burger with bleu cheese and bacon. They were excellent, very juicy, meaty and delicious! It goes without saying that our tots were incredible, McMenamin's is sort of famous for those. They were happy to bring us coffee at the end of our meal and it was actually good coffee. Again, a pleasant surprise The next time we're house sitting, we plan on a return visit!

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Better than most McMenamins on this side of town.

Yelp
Small, quaint and a wonderful experience. This little McMenamins is tiny and yet so wonderful. The bartender was easy going and just went with the flow. The caesar salad and chowder hit the spot! They have a pretty great HH too! The drink the bartender made was fabulous. I don't know why I didn't have another. The ambiance of a small town bar and free parking was exactly the atmosphere you are looking for if you are looking to catch up or just chill out. Certainly a great place to go to if you are looking for a great drink and some decent food.
