What We Know About the Ritz-Carlton Portland’s Enchanted Forest of a Lobby Bar - Eater Portland

"Meadowrue, located in the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Portland, is a venue inspired by folk tales and enchanted forests. It serves chinook salmon rillettes and Old Fashioneds under a vertical ceiling garden with twinkling lights. The interior features dark greens and sapphire blues with dark timber accents. Meadowrue opens for morning coffee and breakfast, transitioning to cocktail bar service in the evening. The coffee is an exclusive blend by Coava, and breakfast items include Oregon-based products like Rogue Creamery cheese and Oregon blueberries. The evening menu features simpler dishes with Oregonian ingredients, such as house salmon rillette using smoked Chinook from Josephson’s Smokehouse and Olympia Provisions charcuterie. The cocktail menu includes unique drinks like a margarita with a private Meadowrue barrel of Codigo 1530 Rosa Tequila and an Aviation riff with brioche-infused sherry. Nonalcoholic drinks are also available, with options like You Made Me Blush. Meadowrue is part of the Portland Ritz-Carlton, which will open in the Block 216 building." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Nice chill vibe. Great servers/bar tenders. The Goat Cheese Cheese Cake was fantastic! The house blend coffee is wonderful! Thank you Casey for the great service with a smile. I will return to try the chocolate cheese cake.

Google
Can't speak to the food, but while staying at the Ritz we tried out the Meadowrue bar on the ground floor and had a fine time. Whiskey prices were a bit high, but so are all the prices at a Ritz.

Nice comfortable place to relax and talk with a friend. The chop sticks reminded me of hematite material, interesting and unique.

Drinks were good and unique! Bar staff was polite and respectful

The bartenders here are experienced and so well trained. A quiet corner bar with excellent drinks and good snacks. A classy bar.

I can’t speak for the alcoholic drinks as I’ve only ordered snacks and tea, but both times there the waiters provided exceptional service. Very quick, kind, respectful, and concerned with providing good service. The space is very cozy and large.

Google
TLDR; very rude service from our waiter. Inventive cocktails and good food. Too many fake plants hanging from every wall and ceiling. Confusing setup. There's a big weird table in front of the bar and we could see there was table service, so we waited there. A friendly waitress told us she was just clearing some tables and would seat us shortly. Two different couples walked right past her and sat down at the only open dirty tables, leaving us to wait another ten minutes to be seated. Our waiter was very rude. It took him quite a while to approach us, despite the small space. His responses to our questions were condescending. When we ordered two starters and a main, he acted confused and said, "All three?!" It wasn't a question. When our food arrived, he made a big deal about how much space aaaaallllll of our food was taking up. Then he said, "I can't imagine what else you could possibly need, but can I get you anything?" I'll admit, the portions were more generous than I expected given the feel of the place, but there's absolutely a better way to handle that. When he checked in, he AGAIN commented on how much we were eating. We sat for about 15 minutes after finishing aaaaallllll our food without receiving our check. We ended up having to approach the bar to pay. Honestly, I wouldn't go back to a dive bar with $2 jello shots that treated me like that, let alone a swanky place with $28 cocktails. Pass.

Google
Meadowrue pleasantly surprised me. While the cocktails list is short (about five, plus three zero-proof options) the pricing is remarkably reasonable and on-par with other establishments in the area. Wine and beer options are also slightly limited, but I'd like to think of them as a carefully curated selection on local breweries and wineries. Don't worry, the options are more than just local, domestic brewers are also available. Food options are very limited and the portions are small, but the quality is top-notch and suitable for a more casual lunch than what you'd find upstairs at Bellpine. Breakfast is available in the morning with a selection of pastries. Coffee and tea are available all-day, with coffee using the local roaster Coava and tea from the Canadian tea makers Tealeaves. I recommend giving the Ritz-Carlton Rose Blend a try (also available for retail sale as a 50g canister of loose leaf tea). As for the quality of service, it is exactly what I would expect from a Ritz-Carlton; I cannot recommend Adam and Erin enough. Both are consistently fantastic and set the standards for level and quality of service. On social media, you will most often see The Rickhouse No. 7 with its iconic smoke bubble, but I would recommend the Rosarita instead, just request two ice spheres instead of three; much easier to drink that way. Overall, Meadowrue is worth a visit, whether you're staying at the hotel or a local. While there is room for improvement with the food offerings, the drinks are excellent and priced comparably with other establishments in the area.

Yelp
Stayed at the Ritz for my wife's birthday with a few of our friends and had a lovely time. Everything was absolutely perfect, and I want to give a huge shoutout to Brian (Hotel Concierge) who helped me plan the entire trip and provided outstanding recommendations. The Hotel is beautiful, the restaurant is incredible and the Spa team is also outstanding. Emily helped me plan out a full Spa day with all our friends. Thank you to all the staff for making this special occasion so memorable. We will definitely come back again! This was a 5 star ++ experience.

Yelp
So we decided to venture downtown and check out the new Ritz. As you can expect it's beautiful. The design, the inside architecture from the elevators to the bathrooms. Classy and chic. (So not Portland). We were able to go up to the restaurant and bar on the 20th floor. Very friendly staff and of course fantastic views. We opted for a cider at the bar ($9) rather than a glass of wine ($20) or a cocktail (&20+). Checked out the dinner menu. 7 course chef tasting (of the small plate appetizers) $120pp. Or the dinner menu starting at $120 for a 2 person entree. I guess it's what one would expect when choosing to dine at a Ritz. We didn't eat so not sure about the cuisine.

Yelp
I hope I read yelp reviews before I booked the hotel. Before we came here, hotel kept email us back and fro and making sure our request is being taken care. My husband and I are both light sleepers and we asked for a room away from the elevator. But when we got to our room is a room just right next to the elevator. And hotel took a while to switch us to a corner room, but the door stopper is broken. This hotel service is not really a 5 stars hotel. They seemed attentive to your request but they did nothing really . We spent one hour switching rooms and felt restless. It's very bad experience for a 5 stars hotel.

Yelp
Location MEH, they cleared out a Portland classic collection of food carts with the premier high rise Ritz. Looks beautiful and boy did they open in a town going to the $hits. I have stayed at the Nine's and Marriott and this is the premier Marriott branded property here in Portland. Pricey and of questionable value, staying on points so call it free. Got upgraded to 18th floor and Mt hood view. Somehow underwhelmed, but nicer than Marriott, but not better value than Nines. Nines gym can't compare but for what price. I am impressed enough will be back for new years with the family Service was cordial and formal all around a good experience. The gym and pool are tops and Bellpine has a unique location if not too limited a menu. Toured the lounge and found it underwhelming given the cost and what I get as an ambassador in the Far East

Yelp
The Ritz-Carlton has all the hallmarks of a new hotel and all of the drawbacks. I believe earnestly that for what you receive the Ritz is overpriced at this time - maybe when they work out their kinks they will be worth every penny, but at this moment it is premature for their prices. The Ritz is stark and beautiful. Yet not as opulent as one would imagine. Check-in was easy and we were given the rundown of the property as the employee walked us to the elevator. Our room was nice. It wasn't overly spacious or luxurious but the beds were comfortable and the view was stellar. There was a mini fridge in the room that was leaking but they were able to fix and clean it quickly. The shower and the bathtub was in the same enclosure which was a bit unusual. I wasn't sure why - I have seen them separated which works but together like they have it is unusual. The lights would also automatically turn off and did not seem to be motion sensitive. I couldn't figure out why they would just turn off but made long baths a bit of an adventure getting out. I enjoyed the hotel but for the price point I expected something along the lines of the best Fairmont or a Park Hyatt and this felt more like a Grand Hyatt. Nice but not $600+/night nice.

Yelp
Lavish and luxurious hotel inside and cutting edge, geometrical architecture of angular glass rising 35 stories and piercing the panoramic Rose City skyline - sparkling gem among downtown skyscrapers. Marvel at the architecture outside and experience plush decor and amenities inside. It's a destination for a Portlander or traveler with an exquisite taste in a city with food, culture, art and close to Oregon green lush natural wonders. I often walk by the Ritz - see glass reflecting clouds and sunlight. Inside the lobby and level 1 lounge is bustling peeps checking in or out or lounging on the comfy furniture while enjoying convivial time with others, along with cocktails, coffee and bar food. Past the main lobby rocket up the elevator up to the 20th floor off at the Bellpine bar and restaurant for a bite and brew and inspiring view. Wife and I enjoyed the city lights split by the Willamette river, the unique bridges, west hills, Mount Hood eastward and the city lights of skyscrapers. The Ritz fits into the dowtown main stream - perfect hub for a traveler to get about and experience the city, feel the Stumptown vibe, and beyond - like the Columbia River Gorge, out to the coast and up to Mt Hood. Inside the Ritz relax, kick back and enjoy good cuisine and spirits - while planning your Rose city excursions.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to The Ritz Carlton. They still have a few kinks to work out, as anyone would with a new place. My friends and I had drinks in the bar area on the main floor/street level. Olivia from CT was our server and was very pleasant. Right now they had a short wine list, so would like to see more wines added.

Yelp
Very expensive but very worth it if you're looking for the highest of class experience. We only went to the bar but it was a great experience. There are multiple bars here, we went to the open bar up some levels! Staff is friendly and helpful, they know there cocktails! The view is of the entire city so very beautiful. Again, be ready to spend money here. The average glass of wine is $28. But it's worth it if you can afford it!

Yelp
I volunteered for a high end event here last weekend and this place is impressive! The event staff were on top of everything, all very professional and dressed to the 10s! This is a beautiful space, and all the staff treat it with respect. I will update this review again when I get the chance to stay a night or two, but the hotel is gorgeous, staff are super friendly and I loved my experience! We did order lunch, and while it was a little spend it was delicious. The burger I had was so good and they give you little fancy glass jars of ketchup and mustard which was so fun! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This recon us only for a quick cocktail at their Lobby Bar! Great drink and great service as expected for a Ritz Carlton.

Yelp
Fantastic new hotel in Portland! We were warmly welcomed into their beautifully decorated lobby. The rooms are clean, elegant, and sleek with Diptyque products. The lobby bar was fabulous - I had their snap pea Vesper martini and loved. They have excellent bar snacks (nut mix and popcorn) to accompany. Sometimes, there is live music as well. We had the pleasure of experiencing a guitarist perform when we visited. Their restaurant on floor 20 is also wonderful, as we enjoyed a very scenic breakfast there. I had the lox bagel, which was very fresh and tasty. Their gym is solid - very spacious with clean and up to date equipment.

Yelp
Not quite there yet... the hotel rooms were lovely, and the amenities in-room were beautiful and clean. The pool is phenomenal but small relative to seating. The food was good, but it wasn't great. The biggest challenge overall is the staff. These folks just haven't figured out how to run a hotel. Almost every interaction lacked basic human compassion and engagement, and they simply couldn't problem solve. WiFi issues, no shuttle to airport, no engagement around what to do formally in the area. It left much to be desired.

Yelp
Had a great experience when I came in as a local to have a drink at the bar. Amazing service! Great environment

Yelp
I really appreciate great hotels and great service. The Ritz in Portland has missed the mark. I parked my car for an hour and ten minutes and was charged $51 for self parking since I had my dog in the car. I was told $25 per hour. My bad, I clearly should have known that if it's one hour and one minute it's now $51. Nothing like spending $100 on a few drinks at the bar to be charged a gross parking fee. They will never get my business ever again. I guess my point is, I should have not parked in the garage however I just assumed it would be $25 to park since that's what valet is for two hours. I decided to call the Ritz to let them know the situation. The response I received was if I don't like it I can call the number on my parking receipt. I'll spend my money at other places in Portland that provide better service.

Yelp
This is a belated Christmas review - from Dec 2023 but felt it was worth posting. Only tried Meadowrue ( lobby bar) : They've got the fancy cocktail offerings available but no sense on how to manage it - so much wrong that could have been right. Fantastic but expensive cocktails that were delicious if you want to wait for them from their diligent, friendly, professional but WOEFULLY understaffed bar. Who chose the menu vs staffing level is clearly not aware of what the staff have to deal with to pull these drinks together. Like building a nuclear submarine on Beat the Clock. We had the Cowbell cheeseboard - delicious - came with no explanation of what the cheeses were. Could have skipped the intros if small signs were stuck in but maybe that's not their vibe. Saw more than one group get up and leave after waiting too long so the hotel is missing revenue due to staffing levels isn't a pretty look at all at the holidays. I find that stressful & I believe at this level of offering it's required to greet people as soon as they sit down. This wasn't done. 5 Guys does a better job at that. Also - Christmas - it's going to be busy: do they not realize they they have to ramp up the staff? And a design note. The northwest vibe of natural ancient forests is ruined by the plastic plants hanging there. If those are real plants I will stand corrected but looked really suspicious to me. I really take high priced places to task for their mismanagement - it just looks greedy. I'm happy to spend the cash but you have to deliver.

Yelp
We ate at Bellpine, what a treat. Fabulous food, wine and service, and the view of the skyline was breathtaking. Amanda was a spectacular and attentive server. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
I have stayed at many Ritz Carlton destinations. The Portland location felt like just a hotel. The Staff was courteous, and asked how everything was. However when given honest feedback to them, I was told, I would have to tell someone else. Problems: 1. Room looked like a regular hotel, anywhere. 2. The table was filthy. I mean some kind of gunk stuck on it, I had to soak a hand towel in the bathroom and wash it down properly. 3. The Robe. Smelled funky as if someone had showered, worn it, and it was simply re-hung on a hangar and not washed. 4. I have stayed at so many better hotels, and have high standards. This location has dropped the ball. and I won't be going back. I suggest the Nines, or the Heathman over this experience.

Yelp
We had the same experience as Samantha tonight. Arrive at the rooftop bar, no hello from our bartender (Pooja) who stood in front of us for 30 minutes and never acknowledged us. She finally said there were only two bartenders and they were understaffed. It takes only a few seconds to say hello, and if the wait is that long just let folks know. Ted the other bartender was friendly, asked what we wanted, and then asked Pooja if she could make them. Another 30 minutes of making other drinks until she finally made ours. Understand everyone has a bad night, but this is the Ritz, right? 2 drinks, an hour wait, and $40 tab? No thanks!

Yelp
We were so excited to try Meadowrue and are extremely disappointed. We waited 15-20 minutes at a table while waiting for a server and trying to get their attention. Other patrons who arrived later were served before us. Unfortunately, it was noticeable that we were one of the only parties of color. After getting a server's attention, she stated, "I guess I can be your server. What do you want?" I was disappointed by the service and will not be returning. I'm hoping the server was just extremely busy and having an off day.

Yelp
If you are looking for a luxurious stay with top notch service, look somewhere else. We booked a club access room at $1k for one night as a late Valentine's Day celebration. We live in Portland, just a few blocks away. We arrived at 3:40, having called earlier to see if an early check in was possible and were told "guaranteed check in is at 4pm." We have Ambassador status 2 years running and have been upgraded to an Executive club room, but ok we are 20 min early so that's fine. They tell us it will be a few more minutes and give us access to the Club so we can wait in style. So far so good. We go up and the club is nice, but has airport club vibes - it doesn't feel lux or special but the staff here were very nice and got us comfy and settled for our...short...wait. Fast forward to 4:50 pm. ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES LATER, and FIFTY MINUTES AFTER "GUARANTEED" CHECK IN. No one has contacted us, no one has told us what's going on - we were clearly forgotten. My husband talks to the Club staff and they call down, saying someone will be right up with our keys. 10 minutes later, NOTHING. We decide this is totally ridiculous and decide to leave and go back home. We stop by the front desk to tell them we are leaving and are told it will just be a few minutes due to some cleaning staff issues. (We find out later that actually, our room had been GIVEN AWAY TO SOMEONE ELSE, and no one bothered to reach out to us.) The front of house manager insists the room will be ready soon; we ask can you just give us any clean room because we have dinner reservations in less than an hour at this point and we wanted to shower and change first. We're told no - they have NO CLEAN ROOMS available for us. After more discussion, she disappears for a few minutes and then tells us it'll just be five minutes more. We reluctantly decide to stay, after she tells us they'll comp the room for the inconvenience. Now I know what you're thinking "you're complaining when they give you a room for free? At the RITZ?" And you're missing the point. The point isn't the money that was or wasn't spent. We were happy to spend $1k for one night because we expected a luxurious night with top quality service. Instead, we were ignored, forgotten about, our room given away and us not being notified about what was going on- they literally just forgot about us for over an hour after "guaranteed check in" time at 4pm. If we hadn't called or come down, how long would they have left us waiting?? We've stayed at Marriotts all over the world (hello, Ambassador status) and this was one of the worst service experiences we ever had. Once we got into the room, it was very underwhelming for a Ritz. The view was great, but the fixtures and details were boring. The cabinets were low quality. The shower was mediocre, and they gave us a floor towel that had a giant yellow stain on it. Great hotel rooms are all about the details - the quality of the fixtures, the shower, having enough towel racks, a place to put your coat, easy access to outlets, etc. - that's what makes a luxurious experience - clear evidence that the room has been carefully planned and thought placed into every detail. Here - everything is plain, boring, and mediocre. We will not be staying at this Ritz again, and seriously doubt we will stay at another Ritz. The JW brand has always provided us top level service around the world - we'll probably stick with that or the Waldorf Astoria.

Yelp
So the brand new Ritz Carlton in downtown Portland! Only open a few days, we felt lucky to experience the newness of this property. They are still working out a few bugs, as to be expected. Upon checking in, the front desk staff was as you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Warm, friendly, professional, polished and welcoming without being stiff or stuffy. Stark but well designed and attractive lobby area with a vibrant and active bar scene adjacent to the main area. Up to the room with a decent downtown view the chamber is week appointed, sleek and modern. Soft colors of blue grays are calming. The bath area is white Carrara type marble ceiling to floor with a generous soaking tub and separate shower. A private WC finishes it off. Awkward positioning for the tub make it a little nonsensical with an unusable robe hook out of reach. The full length mirrors are hidden in the wardrobe, one is unusable because the sofa blocks the door from opening wide enough to use it. I did a little rearranging of furniture that made a little more sense. The chair next to the window, made getting to one side of the bed too narrow and impossible to get to and moving the chair into the corner then placing the floor lamp jus behind it made the perfect amount of room to be comfortable. Now for the most deliciously comfortable bed that is the perfect balance between soft and supportive. I could have stayed in bed all day! I slept like a baby and woke up without a ache or pain anywhere!!! Bravo! The in cupboard nespresso machine is the best option IF the housekeeping/beverage staff keeps up on their side of the deal by making sure it's cleaned and refreshed before each new guest. Sadly this was not the case and I though I was being pranked when I slid out the coffee service shelf, looking so forward to a nice cup of coffee. I turned on the machine and there was used pod stuck in the machine. Ok no problem, though gross that it wasn't even looked at on turn over. Opened the drawer with expected new pods and accompanying service items to first find coffee mate non dairy, chemical filled, toxic whitener. YUCK! Really ritz? Then, my reason for the missing star, I grabbed the first pod, neatly stored in a cute nespresso pod holder, what? Used? Eeew! There were 6 pods. 2 decaf, 2 light roast, 2 dark roast. I moved the the next one, you're kidding me used and out back in the holder! All four caffeinated pods were used and placed back in the holder and no one noticed this??? Double yuck and ewww! I called down and reported my findings. They apologized and said they would send a carafe of coffee up with some real cream, thank god! Though a cappuccino would have been more appropriate. I accepted the gesture of the caffeine! It arrived about :20 minutes later with a bill for $14. Now your really joking right? I told the server the story and that I didn't think charging me was appropriate. He agreed and took the bill away and left the coffee. So all in all a wonderful experience with a friendly staff but a few tweaks are in order. Housekeeping...In addition I was in and out a few times today. I came back around 2 and the room had not been serviced. I called down and requested the room cleaned and left around 3:30. I just returned back to my room after having been out for a few hours and had dinner, the room has still not been serviced yet. Called again and they had no clue I called before and there is no where to watch Monday night football while my room is serviced. Very disappointed. I hope to make a modified review upon another visit.

Yelp
We visited the new Portland Ritz today for lunch and were told there were no tables available despite a nearly empty restaurant. OK, they are newly opened, but perhaps they opened a bit too soon( We went to the longest bar for lunch. Food so so, way overpriced. Bar staff were very pleasant. When we arrived we parked with the valet ( we were offered no self parking option) and explained we were only staying for lunch. When we left 80 minutes later I tipped the valet, and he then directed me to payment. $25 valet fee ( for lunch), exclusive of my $5 tip. I have stayed at several Ritz Carlton's across the country and had always considered the expense worth it. But this was a joke. First time I have ever felt ripped off at a Ritz. Plenty of other dining options in Portland. Don't bother with this restaurant.

Yelp
We had reservations for New Years Eve that we booked way in advance and they called 3 days before to say "Hey there we decided we are now ONLY doing a 6 course dinner for $250 per person on New Years and you can't order off the regular menu". Totally ruined our plans for New Years as it will be impossible to find another reservation. Do better Ritz!! (Enter fart noise here)

Yelp
I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, but I must share my recent experience. My husband and I were enjoying a day date at the Ritz Carlton lobby bar in Portland when we heard about the attempt on Trump's life. We were shocked when the bartender (I believe his name was Carlson) remarked, "Oh man, so close." Regardless of political views, this comment was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. We will not be returning to this establishment.

Yelp
This review is for the Spa only. Warning.... My daughter booked and paid for a facial as a gift for me. I used the service and gave them my gift # When I made the appt they needed my card to hold the reservation. They ended up charging my card for the service which my daughter had already paid for. After multiple calls to the Spa Manger the issue has not been resolved. So basically we have been charged twice for the same service

Yelp
Perfect spot for a couple's getaway or girl's weekend. My friend and I enjoyed our 2-night stay and the well-appointed and luxurious accommodations. Room service was excellent but the staff didn't explain the dish pickup process well and when we came back from our afternoon adventures they were still in our room. The breakfast at the Bellpine was good. However the menu felt limited. I think my favorite was the drinks we had at Meadowrue. Overall the staff was fantastic and we felt truly relaxed and refreshed.

Yelp
I think this place is still working out its issues - it has the potential to be great, but it's just not there yet. We checked in (and were upgraded upon check in and given early check in) having Marriott elite status. The property looks very new and does have the luxury feel one would expect of The Ritz Carlton (but in a cookie-cutter type of way). The Ritz Carlton lounge on the 20th floor is great (with sweeping views of downtown Portland). The lounge offers a reasonable variety (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert options at varying times of the day, and the lounge staff are very helpful. The breakfast at Bellpine was some of the best I've ever had. Why the 4* star review then? We were somewhat surprised that a 5* star hotel didn't have an EV charger on site (so we had to go off site to charge our EV). Secondly, upon check out we noticed child locks had been enabled on our EV (which certainly wasn't the case when we checked in) - which we've never had happen before in any hotel. Perhaps it was an accident by the valet staff, but we couldn't help wonder what other car settings were changed that we didn't notice.

Yelp
Beautiful, great service, awesome food, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Athletic center is great and has a view of the city.

Yelp
My experience with the just opened Portland Ritz Carlton was nothing short of perfect. My husband and I decided to visit over Thanksgiving. We called to reserve the magnificent restaurant on the 20th Floor Bell Pine. The receptionist asked if we had any food allergies and my husband preceded to share my long list of newly discovered allergies. Their Thanksgiving offering was prix fixe and must have included many of the foods that cause my hands and arms to blister; for they graciously provided me with an absolute FEAST of salmon and side dishes to die for!! I couldn't believe such service!!! The facility itself is stunning. Modern elegance coupled with nature. So like the gorgeous state of Oregon. There were a couple of miscommunications between staff but hey, they had JUST OPENED!! Any reasonable person would give them a bit of slack, don't you think?! We were totally cared for in a way that was very warm yet polished. The Ritz Carlton way, and cannot wait to return.

Yelp
This was easily the best Ritz I have ever stayed at. The entire staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was here for a birthday and they did an amazing job at making my guest feel extremely special on his special day. From the complimentary champagne sent to the room, to the cleanliness of our room and the entire hotel- this stay was worth every penny. Now moving onto the spa--this was such a phenomenal experience! The Director of the Spa (Melissa) did such an amazing job making us feel like VIP. She was courteous, attentive and ensured we had the best experience. As a clean freak- this spa was spotless. I will have to come back and add in the name of our masseuses' that actually performed our services because I can't remember their names unfortunately-- but they performed the best massages we've had in our entire lives. I felt like I was in Dubai again. The staff at the Bellpine was also extraordinary. The food was delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced. Needless to say, I'm glad I followed my intuition and did not listen to The Points Guy review because this was easily a five star stay and I can't wait to return.

Yelp
We were excited to see the new RC for the first time. We made a reservation for Sunday afternoon and made it our dinner before a blazers game. First of all, it is very nice inside. Downtown is in desperate need of developments like this. However, despite the nice design, it falls short on expected service and quality by a fairly wide margin. Our early afternoon reservation at Bellpine steered off nicely. The booth we were sat at had a nice view for everyone and the dining room, though not busy at all, is beautiful. We were offered three different types of water, but we were confused about the server. He never introduced himself and then just walked away after we were served water. We didn't get a wine list or a beer list. We had to ask for both and then asked him if he was our server. When he said yes I then asked him if there were any specials he relied "no" (They don't currently run anything on top of the menu as a feature, which is fine). Although, the menu is very sparse and we thought they may. If you're a chicken lover you're out of luck. There is not one chicken (even chicken ceasar) item on the menu. We had the steak tartar which was very good, but the portions are very small. All in all we had a bottle of wine, two burgers, smoked salmon sandwich and a Diet Coke for $211. Oh. We got three order of fries too. We then decided to hit the downstairs bar (Meadowrue) for a quick drink before we got in our Uber for the game. The bar was not busy with as there were only two people in the bar section and twelve others in the lobby. It took longer than expected to have a server ask us if we needed anything. We ordered a glass of wine and a glass of champagne. After sitting for quite some time I noticed that our server was now behind the bar. I waited a few more minutes and then just approached the bar and asked if I could just pay as we're meeting friends at the game. I think it was the bar manager who then said we're out of the wine that you wanted, but I have another that's more expensive, but I'll charge you the same price. A good solution, but at that point it had just taken too long for what should have been a quick process. I was a little confused/surprised at the lack of service quality for a flagship development like this. Yes, I know it's hard to hire good people now and it's early in their opening, but this is a massive company. They have professional trainers and tools to provide the luxury experience that RC provides. I would have thought these "kinks" would be ironed out by a company of this scale. Not a great first experience.

Yelp
Third time we have stayed here since they've opened and things are not getting better. Walk off of the elevator and the carpets are filthy. Carpet outside the room had food stains. The drapes were not hanging properly. The room service menu is not completed. Some of the amenities on their website are not available. The list goes on. The staff is wonderful but whoever manages the hotel needs to step up and make the hotel live up to the Ritz promise.
