Seattle Restaurant and Bar Openings to Know for November 2025 | Eater Seattle

"On Fairview Avenue, this high-end halal chain from Turkey and the Middle East serves theatrically prepared smoked meats—think fancy knife work and flames—accompanied by sauces and sides, and it does not serve alcohol." - Harry Cheadle

Meat Moot - Review - South Lake Union - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This massiveSLUspace sat empty for ages with a “coming soon” sign teasing us. But Meat Moot, a halal spot specializing in Turkish-smoked meats, is finally open and already drawing attention for over-the-top presentations involving billowing flames, dramatic plating, and flashy salting (a la Salt Bae)." - Kayla Sager-Riley

High-End Halal Chain Meat Moot Is Coming to Seattle | Eater Seattle

"A 3,200-square-foot "West Coast flagship" will open in August on the corner of Fairview Avenue and Republican Street, says spokesperson Pria Dalrymple, offering an "upscale" menu of smoked lamb and beef, plus rice and side salads. The concept centers on meats that are slowly smoked on wood and then chopped and seasoned by line chefs who perform made-for-Instagram flourishes with knives and blowtorches (they got training at the Chicago location, says Dalrymple). Cuts of lamb and beef are listed at about $47 a pound on the restaurant's Seattle menu. The operation is entirely halal — no pork and no alcohol — and Dalrymple says "there will be a bar with nonalcoholic drinks," noting that a growing number of diners seem to prefer nonalcoholic options over cocktails." - Harry Cheadle

An unforgettable dining experience! Meat Moot Seattle is one of the best dining spots I’ve been to. The experience from start to finish was unforgettable. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they truly care about what they do. The food was incredible — tender, flavorful smoked meat along with an amazing fire show that makes the whole experience exciting and memorable. I love that you can add as much rice, sides, and sauces as you want. Everything was generous, delicious, and perfectly done. Meat Moot leaves everyone at the table impressed and satisfied. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique dining experience and unforgettable flavor.

Stopped by Meat Moot for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. For lunch they have either a half-pound lamb or brisket plate which, for a flat rate, comes with unlimited sides and sauces. I got the brisket and after they showed it to me at the counter engaged in a fire show where they torched the food and engaged in some showmanship as they added seasonings and spices to it. I was seated at a table and they brought my food to me along with 7 not-so-small sides (tzatziki, saffron rice, mashed potatoes, tabbouleh, green salad, cucumber salad, and quinoa salad) and seven sauces (honey, barbecue, chile, chimichurri, mushroom, Meat Moot Sauce, and cheese sauce). It was so much food and they even asked if I wanted more beyond that. Quality was really good. Meat was juicy and tasty and worked well with the sauces, though my favorite was the mushroom which I felt was the most flavorful. Best side for me was the mashed potatoes, but everything was good. As for the service, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I was the only one for dine-in at that moment as they were still in soft launch, so hard to draw too much conclusion for a larger crowd, but no complaints at all. And lastly the decor was really nice, large and well decorated space. I could definitely see this as a strong SLU lunch option for more leisurely lunches. All in all, I definitely recommend checking out Meat Moot, just make sure you bring your appetite.

We had been eagerly waiting for this day since the restaurant was first announced to open! We visited Meat Noot twice this week — the first time it was extremely busy since it had just opened and it was the weekend, but today it was much calmer. We ordered the beef ribs and lamb shoulder again. I usually don’t like lamb, but it had no smell and tasted amazing! The beef ribs were absolutely delicious, and even though I don’t usually like saffron rice, I really enjoyed it here. The side dishes were also very good and unlimited. I needed both hot and cold water, and the lovely server provided them right away. They even made sure my baby was fed and comfortable, which meant a lot to us. It’s wonderful to have such an elegant, alcohol-free restaurant in Seattle run by a Muslim owner, serving high-quality and flavorful dishes. Even though it’s located downtown, parking is not a problem — you can park in the garage and get your ticket validated. Special thanks to Mr. Hichem, the owner, for checking on us personally and making sure we had a great experience. This has definitely become our favorite spot for special occasions and to bring our guests.

We recently enjoyed a group dinner at Meat Moot in Seattle. It was a really enjoyable dining experience, especially for anyone looking for high-quality smoked meats served with a bit of flair. The atmosphere is lively and comfortable, which worked perfectly for our group. The highlight of the evening, without a doubt, was the beef ribs. They were genuinely outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and clearly expertly smoked, easily pulling away from the bone. The rich, savory flavor was complex and deep—it was a dish everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed. If you visit, I highly recommend ordering these. Beyond the food, the table-side fire show was a unique part of the experience. The presentation and carving of certain meats involves this dramatic display right at your table. It added a fun, theatrical element to the meal that our group found very memorable. Overall, Meat Moot offers delicious, expertly prepared barbecue with a unique, dramatic touch in its service. It’s a great spot for a celebration or a fun night out with friends.

Wonderful experience. Their meat was so good that didn’t want to leave. The owners are very nice people, they cared us personally and chatted with us. The servers are very kind and sincere which makes the atmosphere amazing. We tried beef ribs and lamb shoulders, which were amazing. Soft drinks and side dishes are unlimited. Creme brulee was a nice finish for us. It might get a little busy in the peak hours so it’s best to make a reservation beforehand especially if you’re driving a long commute, don’t worry it will worth your while. I will definitely come again with more friends! Totally recommended!

Amazing to have a world-class restaurant right in the heart of Seattle! The smoked Halal meats are incredible — from tender lamb cuts to beef brisket, with fresh sides and fixings. You can finish with a perfect cup of Turkish coffee or tea and authentic Mediterranean desserts. The modern, vibrant design and friendly, attentive staff make this place a true must visit! We will be coming back very soon!

I visited this new restaurant on their opening day, and the food was absolutely fantastic! We tried the lamb neck, which was incredibly tender, soft, and full of flavor. The side dishes that came with the meat were equally delicious, each complementing the main dish perfectly. The food is halal, which is great! There was also live violin music that added such a lovely atmosphere, and a fun flame show that made the experience even more special. As expected on an opening day, there were a few operational hiccups, but that’s completely understandable as the team settles into their roles. I’m sure they’ll smooth those out quickly. I’m already looking forward to visiting again!

I was pretty excited to go but at the end of the meal it was truly the most "mid" experience. The food is ordered similar to a lot of bbq joints where you go through a line and order by the pound. They were out of brisket by the time we got there at 6:30pm on a saturday night (seems like bad planning there). This whole process is super inefficient. I talked to 5 different people before I got to my table (which I had to be led to). It's like they cannot decide if they want to be a bbq/meat joint or a high end steak house. By the time I got to sit the meat was cold. Lamb shank was super dry and not flavorful. The beef ribs were great though. Very tender and had good flavor. The sides were all maybe a few bites a person, nothing memorable. Dips were not bad, the chili sauce was tasty! Restaurant had like 20 people working at the front of the house and it was a little chaotic. Lots of people giving the restaurant grace just because it's new, but I don't know if that's a good excuse. Especially since it's a franchise.
