Video: The Joy Of The Table

"Each day, the crowds converge on Meat Smith where two Southern Pride smokers turn out traditional American barbecue staples of steaks, briskets and ribs. Accompanied by a rock ‘n’ roll playlist and beers by the pint, the atmosphere is boisterous and unpretentious." - Rachel Tan

Grilling it: 8 of the best barbecue restaurants in Singapore - SilverKris

"A two-venue concept offering wood-fired barbecue with distinct regional focuses: the Telok Ayer outpost leans Southern American with items like spiced pork ribs glazed with apple cider, beef brisket and corn bread with smoked butter, while the Little India location explores modern Indian barbecue with stuffed tandoori chicken wings, crab biryani and spice-crusted lamb chops. Shared meat platters are recommended for groups and come with accoutrements such as green mango slaw and curried buns." - Rachel Eva Lim

Seriously, if you love meat, you HAVE to check out Meat Smith. This place is the real deal. The lamb chop and pork chop were cooked so well—super juicy, smoky, and falling off the bone. They know how to handle their cuts, for sure! My favourite is the Cornbread with smoked butter. I'm not even kidding, this was the highlight of the whole meal. It's warm, fluffy, and the smoked butter takes it to a whole other level of deliciousness. It's seriously my new favorite thing ever. Great vibes, great service, and seriously amazing food.

Food was good, but slightly salty. Ordered the platter for 5 pax among 4 guys and there wasn't anything left, so the quantity wise, its kind of misleading. Anyways, the food was great, especially noting the fact that having to make brisket at home isn't easy, so having to enjoy such cut of meat is pretty good. The porterhouse 500gram was done quite well. Tender and even though the doneness was medium, it was really medium and cooked till the center, so it was quite enjoyable. Servers were very nice and consistently refilling our water and whenever we need the beer refilled, they would do so ( of course the beer isnt free refill). But it was bothering at some point because they consistently checked in helped to clear the plates, its as though signalling us to get out, but there were still empty tables, and it was thursday night, so I am not sure. The bill came out of total S$400+ for 4 pax, which was okay. The happy hour was between 5pm to 7pm if i am not wrong, and there is only 1 choice of beer for happy hour.

Came for their restaurant week and had their dinner course. The burrata and chutney appetiser was creamy and had the right mix of savory and sweet. Crab cake was a little on the fishy side. The onglet steak was what we came for- well smoked and full flavoured.. just that it only came with a mash side and became too jelat for me. Had to pair it with a dash of their hot sauce. Desserts were the sweet ending- lava cake was BOMB..

Had my birthday celebration with my family & had a fantastic experience with excellent service from Sally & Luke who served us and made our time there absolutely wonderful and memorable. That's in addition to the succulent meats and tasty sides we had. The premium platter was a sight to behold and the brisket was so moist and simply melted in one's mouth. We tried these 4 cocktails: southern fizz, pickle pop, grape and thyme fizz and lavender lemonade and the entire family loved all of them especially the pickle pop. The desserts were of exceptional quality for a place that primarily specialises in meats and all of them are worth trying. All in all, my family enjoyed the food and celebrations. Can't wait to come back again soon.

Came here with a group of friends for dinner. Had the wagyu burger, premium platter and burger of the day along with some sides. Some hits and misses unfortunately. The beef short rib and beef cheek was nice and soft. The beef burger was juicy but I have the say the pickle was actually what I felt was yummy and different. The rest of the meats were alright and we all felt there was abit too much flavour in the different dishes. So we were either having too sweet or too salty depending on what we picked from the platter. Ambience wise was cozy. But there was a certain smell when we got there. (The kind you get with how the table is being wiped) That being said, I am known to have a very sensitive nose. Overall, nice hang out place and would cater to people who like different kinds of meat.

Can consider this place for occassion, well decorated place with a US feel. They served set menu even for weekends, which i think is super worth it. Love their music playlist here big time! 90s music of all genre. Food has a some hits and misses. The appetisers like corn bread, spring roll and sausage are good especially the cornbread. First time eating it and it blows me away, like a cake but flavourful, goes with with the butter, not dry at all. The spring roll with brisket is different from the normal veg spring roll we have. The sauce is special and very addictive. Ordered the pork belly as raved, really good. Pork ribs is good but I would say comparable to other places and pales in comparison to the appetisers. Nevertheless is tender and above average. The chicken chop is average, a bit burnt. Astons would be better for the price, size of chicken and taste. Fries r thin and not homemade from fresh potato, normal from frozen packet but could choose a more fluffy one. Cheesecake is ok as they r not specialised in it. Go for the starters! Place is not crowded on sat afternoon. Not just a beef place, if you don't eat beef there r other options.

Super nice burgers but I think that I like the grilled stuff better. The chicken and chips was great and had a sweet, salty and smoky flavour. The smokiness of the chicken was immense as it did not overwhelm my taste buds. Loved their burnt ends as well. Got the chezburger and was nice, even has their own bread.

Meatsmith never disappoints every time we are back! Amazing food, awesome vibes, and some of the best service around. The food is consistently outstanding, the cocktails are spot on, and the team’s genuine hospitality makes every visit special. Big shoutout to Auntie Jac, Peter, and Jin! You don’t just dine here, you dine and make friends!
