"Palermo is full of ancient artifacts that’ll make you feel very young in the grand scheme of things. But here, you’ll find some that will make you feel very old: vintage Apple products from the Jobs Foundation. This fine dining spot that’s housed inside a renovated 16th-century palazzo does tasting menus and à la carte dining (for groups of five or fewer) from one of Palermo’s most celebrated chefs. Expect seasonal dishes like the pumpkin with fermented black garlic and miso paste, or a sweet rhubarb dessert with raspberry mousse and star anise meringue. Make a reservation for a night you’ll want to celebrate something special, even if that’s just being old and wise enough to remember when computers looked like this." - linda sarris

"Occupying a 16C palazzo practically opposite the splendid cathedral in the heart of monumental Palermo, this unusual restaurant is accessed via a number of steps and shares space with an exhibition dedicated to Steve Jobs. Here, three elegant dining rooms with frescoed ceilings are surrounded by memorabilia and photographs that recall the professional career of this computer genius. In this setting, chef Carmelo Trentacosti focuses on Sicilian recipes and ingredients that he reinterprets with a personal twist, such as the famous caponata which is transformed into a creamy sauce (in the shape of the Apple logo) and seasoned with grated Modica chocolate which can be enjoyed with sourdough bread. An excellent cheese trolley (available before the dessert course) and attentive service complete the picture. At the end of your meal, ask to be shown the view of the piazza from the balcony – the perfect way to end a very special evening." - Michelin Inspector

A wonderful restaurant in Palermo. The restaurant setting with multiple Apple products and Steve Jobs looking at you is an experience. The service is very attentive and the wine absolutely delicious. The food is deserving of their Michelin star. Delightful. If I ever come back to Palermo, I will pay a visit again.

First off, I rarely leave reviews, however my end to end dining experience was so exceptional to the point where I feel compelled to do so! Simply put, the food, the service, the hospitality was simply next level! I own a Boutique Travel Concierge Agency and I' m quite picky all across the board. Found this place to be exceptional on all levels. A hospitality experience that is unforgettable in every way. Do yourself a favour and dine here if you are in Palermo! Just wow!

I can’t say enough about how fantastic Mec is. The setting is beautiful, but above that, the service and the chef were top notch. The service was super attentive and had me smiling the entire time at how I was just able to relax and enjoy my evening. The chef and kitchen produced the most delicious foods, and kept surprising me throughout the experience. Even compared to all of other the Michelin Star restaurants I’ve been to, this has become the one to give me the best experience and memories. I read through the negative reviews, and honestly, unless you’re an unhappy person in life, you will smile like crazy every second you spend here. Thank you so much!!!

Food is really good. We had the scallops and the soup as starters, then the risotto and the pasta with oysters and finally the merengue. Everything was delicious, and we appreciated all the amuse-Bouches, pre desert and the cake they gave our friends who were in their honeymoon. The one thing we would change was mainly the room where you eat. The entrance gives you a more intimate vibe, and once you get inside it’s much brighter and less unique - I would change the interior so it matches the exterior charm.

The good: Beautiful setting, great wine list and very good service. Presentation of food was 10/10 The bad: Terrible food with no taste. Except the dessert, all other courses were bland. Definitely one to skip

I have found this restaurant on Michelin’s website and it is quite a surprise to find out that it is also a museum dedicated to computer science and Jobs. The collections of iPhones, old computers and iPads gives the restaurant a quite chilling atmosphere. The settings of tables in four corners, with the gentle lightening behind each table makes each table, seeing from other tables, a nice picture itself. This restaurant boasts inspirations of Sicilian cooking. The tasting plates provides four snacks with the tastes of four kinds of seafoods, which are quite innovative in the de ce of texture and flavour. Four different kinds of breads are offered: Sicilian wheat sour dough bread, long olive flavour stick, a croissant and a brioche. My favourite is the Sicilian sour dough bread combining the apple icon shaped butter with anchovies. The butter is very tasteful and has a good touch of seafood. The first antipasti made from tomato provides a strong contrast of sweetness and sourness. I like the second antipasti, sea scallop. The texture is very creamy and the fresh and thinly sliced scallop provides a smooth feeling. The pasta, Giro Giro Tondo gives a different perspective of pasta. The pasta itself is neither too hard nor too soft, saving a nice texture of chewiness. The seafoods hidden inside the pastas are quite fresh and tasty. The piece of fish on top tastes a bit of fishy smell, but the rest is good. The main dish is made from chicken breast, which according to the restaurant staff is quite a gamble, as chicken breast is not considered as a food that to be put in main dishes in fine dining. I must say the chef’s technics in cooking a chicken breast into a super tender piece is very high, however, the sauce accompanied the chicken breast tastes a little bizarre. I think there is too much rosemary in the sauce and makes the sauce a little bit bitter. The tacos accompanied with the main dish is crispy outside with sweet corns inside. For the desserts, the jellies are quite refreshing, combining sweet and sour flavour. The four apple icon plates offer desserts that increase in their sweetness. My personal favourite is the one on the red apple, it is not too sweet and has a mild sweetness. On the big plate, mangue chops and sorbets are relatively sour, providing a contrast to sweetness of creamy cake. Generally speaking I enjoyed this evening at MEC, and I like the taste experience it has provided. The staffs are very friendly and elegant.

Beautiful restaurant and museum combo. The food and service were 10+ stars, the flavours were so good with a true Sicilian focus. The presentation along with wine selections were amazing. Can’t say enough about this place, we came twice while in Palermo and want to come again for the fall/winter. The first time we did the tasting menu with the wine accompaniment, the second we did the al a carte menu. We even got to meet the chef!

I wish I could give this restaurant 4.5 stars. The food here was nice, and some bits were brilliant! I think some components were just a bit more lackluster than you'd expect from a Michelin star restaurant. We got the tasting menu and the presentation was fantastic! All looked very creative. Some of the courses were really incredible - I loved the Cuttlefish, the fish course, and the predessert. And what they did to pay homage to sicilian food traditions were quite clever! I just think for the price tag, youd expect almost all of the courses to really wow. The portions also were a bit large I thought - both of us ended the night with quite a bad stomachache. Overall though, we enjoyed our night and the service was excellent. They honored my boyfriend's request for a rose for our anniversary which was lovely and very special. The interior of the restaurant was also very interesting and weird😂
