Craft cocktails, live jazz music, and DJ sets Wed-Sat

"For those who want table service without forced bottle service, Medium Cool is the place to go. This velvet-clad basement bar is equal parts swanky and vibey with live DJs every night of the week. Order drinks at the bar while dancing to the music, or snag a table where everyone is treated like they’re a VIP. Opt for one of the large format cocktails for easy drinking — the Cold AF Martini is always a crowd pleaser or the Pornstar Martini if you’re looking for something on the sweeter side." - Amber Love Bond
"Medium Cool lives in a pleasant sweet spot between club and cocktail bar. If you’d prefer more of a cocktail lounge atmosphere, come earlier, particularly for the jazz night (Thursday through Saturday from 7-10pm). After 10pm, the bottle service crowd starts to arrive, a DJ replaces the live music, and Medium Cool becomes an intimate club. The cocktails are solid and the crowd is much more tolerable than 99% of the South Beach bottle service spots. The key to a good experience here is knowing what kind of vibe you’re after, and timing your visit accordingly." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

"Medium Cool is a bar in Miami co-owned by Dan Binkiewicz, offering a unique drinking experience with a focus on quality and creativity." - Nadia Chaudhury
"Medium Cool lives in a pleasant sweet spot between club and cocktail bar. But if it’s a club vibe you’re looking for, plan on coming after 10pm. That’s when the bottle service crowd slowly starts to outnumber the jazz night crowd, and a DJ replaces the live band. By 2am, there’s no mistaking you’re in a club. But it’s not the annoying kind. The cocktails are solid and the crowd is much more tolerable than the rest of the South Beach bottle service spots. Plus, the smaller size of the room makes it feel like you could conceivably meet a majority of the people inside throughout the course of the night." - ryan pfeffer
"The late night scene at Medium Cool looks and feels more like an intimate club than a cocktail bar. But if you come here for jazz night (Wednesday through Sunday from 7-10pm) you’ll have a wonderful time even if you normally have an allergic reaction to the words “bottle service” (which is a thing here). The basement bar is a lovely place to hide from the crowds of South Beach, drink a daiquiri, and nod along to a trio of very talented jazz musicians. The cocktails are solid and the room isn’t too loud to bring a date either. Just know that after 10pm, the club crowd will start to arrive, so plan your exit accordingly." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
