"Medium Rare, a steak and fries restaurant from Washington, D.C., is scouting locations in Dallas. Owner Mark Bucher is looking for a 3,000 square foot location in an affluent neighborhood. The restaurant is known for its limited menu featuring steak and fries, served with salad and bread, and also offers brunch items like steak and eggs, sausage and eggs, and eggs Benedict." - Brittanie Shey

We went to the Saturday brunch at Medium Rare and had a great time. The menu is pretty simple with only a couple of options for a fixed price. The atmosphere inside was fun and great for a brunch. It wasn’t too crowded either which was surprising but nice. Service was overall friendly but did write down one of our orders wrong. The bread that came with the meal was well made and the salad was also solid. The steak frites that they are known for were delicious. They were cooked to a great point of not being too chewy/tough. The sauce was great and the fries were crisped well. Overall, I definitely would come back here and enjoyed our experience.

As far as food, I enjoyed everything fully except for the steak. The bread and butter was great. Perfectly firm and crisp and the butter was just rich. The salad was kind of simple but had great flavor. Fries that came with the steak were perfectly seasoned. I ordered M but we got a pretty much well steak. I don’t know how I feel about the steak sauce still but I lean towards liking it. Definitely understand other reviews calling it “chalky” though. The service was wonderful:) The music is too loud.

If you’re looking for a straightforward, satisfying dining experience, Medium Rare delivers with charm, value, and consistency. The concept is simple: one menu, one price—$31.95 for a well-executed three-course meal that includes flaky, delicious bread, a crisp mixed green salad, and two servings of steak and frites. The steak is tender, the fries are crispy, and the portions are generous enough to leave you satisfied without feeling overstuffed. The value here is undeniable. We capped off the meal with a slice of chocolate cake and fresh coffee—both were excellent. The cake was rich without being overwhelming, and the coffee was smooth and well-brewed, rounding out the evening nicely. Service is friendly and attentive, and the space is both clean and inviting. Guests can enjoy outdoor seating with fans and misters for comfort, though we chose to sit inside. The dining room ambiance is quirky but fun, with 90s pop playing just a touch too loudly, while the bathrooms amusingly play French lessons—adding a bit of whimsy to the experience. There’s plenty of parking, making it an easy destination whether you’re a local or just passing through. All in all, Medium Rare offers a quality meal in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a concept that works—and works well. I definitely recommend it.

3/5 The place had a good course with bread, drinks and the choice of parfaits or fruit or salad. The main entree did take a long time, which gave the party the unfortunate, pretty tasty, ability of filling up on bread. By the time the food came it was rather disappointing as the steak was thinly sliced like that of roast beef. The service was decent. Not good or great, but could be due to the business of today (Easter brunch). The brunch was 35 not including tax and the drinks (I’m not a drinker) were a’ight. The downside was the added 20% tip already added to the check. Was the price somewhat reasonable, meh, for the drinks. Would I come here again? Probably not. But I am full. It was nice trying it. The food was good but I think this places was overhyped.

We loved this place. The bread was good, the steak was full of flavor with awesome sauce. We loved the fries and fresh salad. Great customer service and Ray was an awesome waiter, very attentive. Melissa was very welcoming and Shawn, the manger, took the time to meet us and others. Mari kept the steak and fries coming. We plan to try their brunch!

Google
Absolutely delicious. I love a hearty meal and I also love a good value. Medium rare's menu is no nonsense with a set menu consistening of Bread, Salad, Steak and Fries.. The bread has a good crispy crust with a soft spongy middle. The Salad is decent lettuce and tomatoes with a vingarette. The Steak however, really shines it is seasoned and grilled to perfection slathered in a flavorful gravy. Once I thought I was done my waiter brings out another serving which I happily devoured. The total damage including two beers was $67.15... Considering inflation I think that's a good deal. 4 stars in my opinion possibly 5 but Im trying to be more conservative in my 5 star opinions. Enjoy

Google
I really wish I could rate this place higher, because our server and the manager were kind. However, I felt the food was similar to what you’d expect at a diner. For $31.95, you get 2 servings of steak and frites. We ordered the key lime pie, based on the server’s recommendation. She said it was made in-house daily. Unfortunately the pie was just too tart.

I’m visiting a friend in DTX and we made reservations at Medium Rare for brunch. The hostess was very welcoming. Olympia was our server and she was absolutely amazing, super kind, patient, and catered to our every need (even tho it was just us two)! Vanessa our reina de colombia was amazing as well on time with the bottomless mimosas and a good vibe. Overall, Medium Rare was a great vibe the music was a blend of pop, hip hop, and r&b. It was also child friendly where the music wasn’t blaring but loud enough to jam to. I would highly recommend this place if you are in town. Steak fries was great! I was a vegetarian for 5 years and it was nice to see that they had vegan/vegetarian options available to those on their meatless journey.

Yelp
Went to Medium Rare for a Sunday brunch double date, and it was such a great choice. We sat outside on the patio, which had the perfect mix of fresh air and a laid-back but lively atmosphere--ideal for a relaxing brunch. Bonus: the patio is pup-friendly! We were even joined by the sweetest pup at the next table, which made the experience even better. What I loved most was the pre-fixe menu--straight to the point, no overthinking, just great food and a seamless experience. The steak was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender, and that signature sauce? Absolutely next level. The fries were crisp and golden, and the portions were just right. Service was on point too--our server was super sweet and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Another plus? It's in a great location and has an onsite parking lot, so no stressing about finding a spot. If you're looking for a solid brunch spot with a simple yet delicious menu, good vibes, a pup-friendly patio, and easy parking, Medium Rare is a must-try. Already thinking about coming back for dinner!

Yelp
This was our third visit to Medium Rare, and every single time has been amazing! The simplicity of their menu is what makes it so special--just perfectly cooked steak, crispy fries, and incredible sauce--but the quality is unmatched. We had Stephanie as our server, and she was fantastic, providing excellent customer service and making our experience even better. The entire staff always makes you feel welcome, and it's clear they take pride in what they do. Not to mention, their desserts are absolutely delicious--the perfect way to end the meal! And their cocktails? Amazing! They're well-crafted and complement the meal perfectly. I remember coming here when they had just opened and telling them I could see them getting busy soon. Sure enough, every time we come back, they're thriving, and it's well deserved. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out! Highly recommend this spot for a consistently great meal, top-notch service, and amazing drinks.

Yelp
Wow! I came in for dinner on a Saturday night and was wildly impressed. While I had a reservation, it seems as though one wasn't needed. Service was great. I had the berry sangria to drink and my bf had the hibiscus margarita, both were delicious! Steak frites were outstanding and plenty enough food with the 2 servings. I had my steak cooked medium rare. For dessert, we shared the sundae, which was the highlight of my meal. Portion was super big and fun item to order! I will definitely be back. You definitely get a bang for your buck here, and I'm glad I know have a designated steak frites place here in Dallas. Note: definitely not a formal steakhouse vibe here, moreso nice-casual.

Yelp
I picked up to go food from here on Valentine's Day and I've gotta say in the future I would probably only go in person! I know it was the busiest day of the year but I was devastated when they forgot to include the extra steak sauce I paid $7 for. Everything was so good. The bread was exceptional and honestly the steak was really great too. A pretty good deal for a prix fixe menu. I contacted the restaurant about my sauce and never heard back!

Sara N.

Yelp
A set menu & price with rounds of steak is a steal! The bread to begin with was a little hard but it was still doughy and delicious with the butter. The salad was also good, I would say it is a light portion so it doesn't fill you up fast with bread before. The steak cooked to how you like paired well with the secret sauce though you might have to ask for more sauce on the side. Nothing fancy. The fries were crunchy. The service was great, they weren't busy on a Wednesday night so they were very quick. Great music was playing and a good spot for dinner. I would like to come back and see what their brunch is all about!

Tara W.

Yelp
Tried this place because of all the social media hype that went around and was left quite disappointed with our experience. Ambience wise, the restaurant was very brightly lit. They had a lot of tables and I did not like how close all the tables were to each other. It was pretty empty when we went on a monday night but i certainly wouldnt have enjoyed sitting so close to another table at a place that's supposed to be a nicer restaurant. Our server was really sweet! The service was also very prompt. Honestly the reason why I'm giving this place a 3 instead of a 2. Now, on to the food. We really enjoyed the butter and bread that they gave to start. The salad had this tartness from what tasted like pickle juice which I did not like. The steak and fries themselves were nothing special. The sauce that they had definitely saved the dish. Our second serving of meat came out a bit cold.

Yelp
Food: 1/5 So incredibly mid, you can get a way better meal for that price else wear. You would think if a restaurant only served one entree, they'd make sure to do it well. I ordered my steak medium rare, and it came out more so well done. The meat was chewy, and one of my bites was so chewy I literally had to spit it out on a napkin because my mouth was so tired from all the chewing. I will say the bread and butter was the best part of the meal, but it is hard to mess that up. Fries were good, and the sauce that came with the meal was mid. Ended up spending around $55 with tip for one person, and you should just go to any other restaurant nearby to spend your money. But maybe I just came on an off day. Service: 3/5 Our waitress was kind. There was a different lady who brought out the food that had a stank look on her face when I told her the plate she was about to put on my friend's side was actually mines (I got the sauce on the side, so I knew it was my plate). No manager came by to check up on us. Atmosphere: Interior not ugly, but also nothing to rave home about or would make you want to take pictures in. But I think the restaurant is geared more towards between a nice and a casual place. Overall, I wouldn't come back as I felt like I just wasted my money here. But like I said, I might've just came on an off day. They also weirdly give you this strange piece of gum with your bill. At first, I thought it was a nice piece of chocolate. But it was actually a piece of bubblegum that lost its flavor by the time I walked across the street to Leela's Wine Bar.

Minly L.

Yelp
My roommates and I visited Medium Rare and had an interesting experience. The interior had a romantic and bright ambiance, perfect for a date night. The staff was also incredibly personable and friendly. As for the food, we enjoyed the bread and butter, and the salad had a unique tartness that was new to us. However, the steak was a bit salty and served slightly cold, though the sauce was quite flavorful. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we definitely left feeling full, but the food didn't quite meet our expectations.

John B.

Yelp
Service was great. They don't have a full bar with every brand, but have a selection of liquor to make most, if not all cocktails. The second round of steak frites always a welcome surprise.

John B.

Yelp
We went for a late brunch, birthday celebration , and glad we did! Our server Jasmine was very experienced, friendly, & helpful. We had mimosas which were delicious and refilled once or twice. The food (we had steak & eggs, yum! They have the BEST crusty bread of any place I've been and it even came out warm. Save room for dessert! My husband who is a carrot cake afictionado deemed this as the best carrot cake of the dozens of restaurants where he's had it. I am a diabetic (type 2) so I never get desserts, but made an exception and glad I did. I had the apple pie ala mode and it was oh, so good. I brought half of it home (the portion size is easily enough to share for two). Run, don't walk to Medium Rare! We will be back.

R M.

Yelp
It's cute chill restaurant with a limited menu. They gave you 2 serving of the steak and fries. The sauce is decent. They have 5 dessert options since they have no true menu.

Sara S.

Yelp
Such a great deal!!! We went for brunch and enjoyed ourselves very much here. They have bottomless drinks, making it the perfect plan for a Sunday with your family or friends. The music is very modern and kind of party-ish. I would suggest changing the playlist to something more classic that fits the ambiance better. I unfortunately had an issue with the steak, hence the 4-star review. I was the only one from my group who ordered a medium steak; everyone else ordered medium well or well done. Mine was the brownest of them all. If the restaurant only has steak on the menu, I expect it to be cooked perfectly, and unfortunately, it wasn't. It could have been a mistake, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. I pointed it out to the waitress to see if there was a mix-up, and they returned it and gave me a new steak from the kitchen without hesitation. I appreciate the good hospitality and thank our waitress for her patience; she was amazing. My mimosa glass was never empty. And overall made our experience really great! *I took pictures of both the first "medium" steak that was overcooked and the medium steak they gave me after :)

Tomas S.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place for the steak and fries and initially things were great, got my bread, got my salad and got my steak and fries and a beer, which were great, shortly after I finished my meal I got my bill, I asked the server about the second steak serving which everyone raved about. Her answer was I'm so sorry, you were supposed to let us know when you ordered if you wanted second serving as part of brunch and it's automatically only for dinner. The table next to me got a second serving as part of brunch. So $48 for a beer and thin piece of steak was a bust, that ruined the whole experience, especially when you expect top customer service. How is someone who's never been there know to ask for a second serving. At least the ambiance was nice. Very disappointed.

Lwito N.

Yelp
Medium Rare was great! It was perfect for date night with the low light, adding a romantic ambience. And our servers were very attentive and filled up our plate twice with steak and frites. I recommend this if you want steak on a budget and want to try something new and somewhat casual.

Lisa O.

Yelp
Beautiful night out on the outdoor patio on a Wednesday night at 7:45 pm. No wait. Great service. Pretty lights and fans for comfort. Prix fix menu of warm artisan bread, fresh salted butter, salad with fresh peppercorn and light mustard vinaigrette and medium rare thin sliced steak with hot frites. Friendly service with extra sauce and a California pinot noir bottle. Surprise! Second round. Save room for the Delicious many layered carrot cake. Three of us could not finish all the huge slice of cake. We will be back

Mandy S.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday evening. It was a very busy waited 30 minutes. Once sat down the service was fast. Bread was great The steak was tender and delicious. The fries were too hard :( ..The sauce was a 10 out of 10. The second serving was good, but on both servings of the steak the proportions need to be more. Add more meat to the servings

Jack G.

Yelp
Our reservation was a little backed up along with several other parties so unfortunately we had to wait in the middle of the restaurant awkwardly standing as there isn't any designated waiting area. While we were waiting, some lady, who had only had one drink, passed out onto the floor. She then was promptly ushered out of the restaurant with a To-Go bag in which she slid the remnants of her full plate which included steak, fries, sauce, and a knife. It was a really odd encounter at no fault of the restaurant, but it was something worth noting. Once we were seated, my boyfriend and I ordered a bottle of red wine. Our waitress was extremely nice and attentive. She explained the preset menu well and was very willing to check in on how we were doing. The concept is fun. You choose your steak temperature, order any drinks you want, and that's it. Warm bread sets the stage, followed by a salad, and the main course of steak and French fries. The steak was thin, tender, and well-cooked. The fries were crunchy and salty. And the steak sauce was delicious and rich. They also come around with a free second helping of both fries and steak, so get your appetite ready. Overall the food was great. The atmosphere was pretty lit and rather hectic. But the service was an A+. And for the set price of $31.95 per person for all the food (plus we ordered a $40 bottle of wine), I'd love to go back.

Cat N.

Yelp
For $25 steak in this economy is a steal! The steak itself was ok. This is the same concept as Le Relais de l'Entrecôte Marbeuf in Paris. You get a house salad and bread for starters, then steak and Frits! I did order a tea as well, they didn't charge me so I guess a drink comes with it? Service was great! Very attentive

Kurt V.

Yelp
I am a fan...I loved this place! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food! It is hard to believe that steak this good is all you can eat! We even shared a dessert and while the Sundae was good, I want to try the Apple Pie on my next visit!

Kayleigh C.

Yelp
My new favorite place in Dallas! Absolutely no bad things to say! The food was incredible! Definitely splurge and get the chocolate cake too! Rave reviews of the gravy and the old fashioned from my husband! The staff were so kind especially Melissa, our server! Already planning to come back for my birthday!!

Ken P.

Yelp
I was invited to brunch and they didn't miss with the steak and eggs!!! And you get to choose a fruit parfait, fruit or salad. The steak is perfectly cooked and that gravy they put on it. Tips the scale of perfection. Also shout out to Ray and Eduardo who took care of me also whoever made that espresso. The chocolate cake and sundae are to die for and if you like Merlot they got u !!! It hard to find Merlot at a restaurant now a days.

Gabbi M.

Yelp
Steak Frites is one of my favorite meals so I am a tough critic when it comes to it. The steak was seasoned and cooked as preferred, fries crisp and lightly salted, sauce was rich and paired perfectly with the plate. Everything about this meal was perfect IMO... then they brought out a second portion (Yes please, lol)! The Staff was prompt and polite. Atmosphere was perfect for a date night. I will definitely be back soon!

Blanca D.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and will keep coming back. This is a great date locale, employee/dept celebration, family gathering spot. It's not bougie, but elegantly understated. It's actually off Greenville Ave (!) with a small private parking lot next to it. It's the best value meal in town - period. To the reviewer that slammed the bread, Wonder or Signature sliced bread is waiting for you at the grocery store The main staple, the Prix Fixe steak and frites (REALLY GOOD and freshly cut frenchies), is perfect. Filling, but not heavy. Brunch here is a MUST! Take a look at the French toast! Everything about this place is fun. The service is outstanding, music is slammin', and the food will speak for itself. Date night, girls or dudes night out, don't wanna cook night, this is your place. Jasmine (Jazzy) or Cristian will probably seat or serve you. The cutie patootie mgr, Mike, may greet you or may even be behind the bar. Being in the hospitality biz for over 30 yrs, I know that the best mgmt are those that don't mind getting their hands dirty and the staff (and customers), respect them for that effort. Seriously though, this is a destination place to put on your To Do list. Blanca says check them out.

Kristi C.

Yelp
We went for brunch this morning here and ordered the steak frites and French toast for brunch. The steak frites were good. However, the French toast was served with raw egg inside two of the three pieces. When brought to the attention of the manager he offered to bring another piece. After serving a health hazard to the table, I am surprised this was the only solution he presented rather than comping the meal. I have worked in the service industry before and am floored this was not the solution immediately.

Hannah G.

Yelp
Disappointing first experience here. We made a reservation but still had to wait 45 mins for our table. Our waitress forgot our last course and had to check with multiple servers to make sure we weren't lying about not getting the final course. Service was so slow that we were there for a total of 3 hours. Food was ok for the price, but will not be coming back

Sean S.

Yelp
Service was a bit wonky and lackluster, but the food was good. My favorite part was when the server automatically and without asking brought out a SECOND steak and put it on my plate. It was the same feeling as when you're at a bar and the bartender tops off your drink for you. . And affordable. See caveat.* It's not a fancy steakhouse..... I think it was like $32 for bread, salad, and entree with the frites. *Caveat - one specialty cocktail costs almost half as much as the food. And I'm not sure what the server really did since there's only one item on the menu. She basically asked us how we wanted our meat cooked and pointed at the board for the night's drink specials. So an extra $20 for the order taker. Chatted with the friendly manager when we walked in and then he waved at us on our way out. I'll be back for sure. Great location just off Lowest Greenville, but you wouldn't really know it's there when walking down the street.

Michael N.

Yelp
So after seeing a video clip on Facebook, and after reading so many positiive reviews about this chain steakhouse, I along with my partner and a friend of ours, decided to have our dinner at this location in Dallas. We made reservations for 8:15 PM, and arrived early because as most people know, the parking situation in Lower Greenville can be a little dicey. We found a great parking spot, after being assisted by a gracious employee of Medium Rare, and proceed to walk to the entrance of this restaurant. We approached the host stand, which is outside their fron door, and checked in, and was told it would be a minute before we would be sat. They offered to have us wait indoors as it was very chilly last night. We proceeded to enter the bar area, and stand there, waiting to be seated. What turned into 5 minutes, became 10 minutes, which then became 15 minutes. In the meantime, we watched 5 other parties get seated ***after us***. I approached the manager, and advised that we were uncomfortable standing in the bar area waiting to be sat and his reponse was they were overbooked as it was Valentine's weekend, and offered us a beer, which was kind of him, but we don't drink. Telling me they were overbooked is not my problem as I made reservations online earier that day. Had I known they were overbooked, I wouldn;t have wasted my time and gas. When we hit the 20 minute mark, we bounced. While standing there like a bunch of fools, I observed the plates coming out of the kitchen, and the serving sizes were small (like stated in some of the other reviews), and the second servings were even smaller. So, no, I won't be coming back here to dine. I'll choose elsewhere to spend my money, and to be treated better.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Excited this place is in the 'hood! It's a bit more upscale than other offerings in the area while not breaking the bank. Two of us had dinner and a bottle of wine for $100. That ain't bad! And the steak is legit! In terms of service, Winter and Logan were great. I'm pumped to go back!

Han C.

Yelp
I've been super excited to try this restaurant since it opened and was finally able to try it with my nieces today. The prix fixe concept is simple and good. You get bread (which is very, very crusty, so bring your thickest chompers) and butter (tasty), a green salad (a touch overdressed for my liking), and two servings of steak and fries. The bad - the steak and fries. Unfortunately for such a simple menu, I think we had just hoped that this part of the meal would be excellent. We ordered the steak medium rare and rare, and while the cook looked fine on the meat, the texture was very chewy. The meat was far from tender. The meat actually was more tender when cooked well (which the end pieces of my medium rare steak were) than the medium rare portions. The other part that was slightly weird was that we would be served additional dishes before we were done. The steaks came out when we were halfway finished with the salads. The second portion of steaks came out when we were halfway done with our steaks. It would be great if the waitstaff paced the meal better with the eating cadence of the guests. I am not sure if there is a disconnect or lack of communication between the kitchen which is pushing out these dishes and the waitstaff. The temperature of the second round of steaks was also different than the first - my medium rare steak came out half medium-well and half well done. The fries were also room temperature/limp. All in all, while I had hoped this to be our new neighborhood haunt, but we will just need to pass for now.

Kristen S.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday night and there was no wait. Service was great and so was the food. My steak was cooked perfectly and I loved the salad dressing. The fries were nice and crispy and the sauce elevated everything. It was great atmosphere and a good deal.

Bee S.

Yelp
Came for the first time since I saw this place on tic tok, the ambiance was nice but definitely crowded, you are super close to the table next to you so it doesn't make for an intimate setting. My husband and I definitely enjoyed the bartender Ortiz he made our long wait endurable. The salad was ok it needed more dressing, bread was good, steak was a little tough to chew so I didn't like that, fries were overcooked and not hot, sauce was ok. The concept is cool but the food can definitely be better especially since it's a set menu. It was overhyped for me.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Not worth the hype at alllllll. I don't think the food/experience was worth the money. We got the brunch that's been heavily marketed on TikTok and it was so disappointing. The bottomless mimosas/screwdrivers are all juice. The appetizers are sad - could be downed in two bites and salty. The free bread is too crunchy for my taste. The entrees were embarrassingly abysmal. Our group got a range from the steak frité to the benedict to something else I don't remember. Across the board, the meat given per dish was such a small, sad amount. The fries also reminded me of fast food fries so nothing that impressed any of us. It took us a while to get served. Granted we went on a Saturday so maybe they were busy? But by the time we got our appetizers, we were starving. For the amount of time we waited around, the portion size was not it. It's extremely loud in there. At least there was A/C, I guess? The bathrooms are extremely small so as soon as you open the door to the women's restroom, you might hit a person waiting for the stall.

Chris K.

Yelp
I've been to the original location in Cleveland Park DC, the Capital Hill location and now the Dallas location and I can honestly say that Medium Rare doesn't miss. They are nothing but consistent, which is great because when you have a limited menu the least you can do is knock it out the park every time, and that is certainly what they do. Besides, how can you say no to seconds.

Diana D.

Yelp
It is hard to quantify the disappointment with Medium Rare, because nothing was HORRIBLE. It was so incredibly mediocre that the obvious rating would be a 3, but 3 means "A OKAY" and this wasn't A-OK. The dining room is packed...PACKED with tables. It is definitely set up for high volume. But my son and I were among only 12 guests in a restaurant built for scores more. The open kitchen might be interesting if the chefs were busy managing a stream of orders. On our visit the chefs were talking to the servers and waiting for the next order. ATMOSPHERE: Hate to say it, but it feels like the fixtures were purchased on clearance. Not my favorite design or decor. I really kind of hated the "please don't do coke in the bathroom" neon sign. Just stupid. Who is doing coke at an AYE steak restaurant? FOOD: Not terrible. Not spectacular. Avoid the sauce...it adds nothing. I really liked the salad dressing and the bread was fine. SERVICE: Can't fault our server as she was attentive...we were her only table. I kind of don't like being called "love" as in "I'll bring you more bread, Love" all of the time. Maybe its just me. This pet peeve didn't diminish my impression of service or my tip. I think its perfectly fine. Considering that food is ok, price is a bargain, atmospheres lacking, and service is good, I can't quite figure out why we really don't ever want to go here again.

Desand H.

Yelp
Very simple menu, perfection , I will be back. The steak and fries are great and the staff is friendly, overall good experience. I don't just give out 5 stars, so this is a strong 4 in my opinion, the missing star: there was no wow factor.

Yelp
Medium Rare serves a prix fixe menu - warm bread, salad of fresh garden greens, and savory steak or portobello mushroom (both cooked to perfection) with fries. They provide seconds of the main course and also serve a variety of decadent desserts. If you only offer a simple menu, then you need to do it well and Medium Rare does it exceedingly well! My family just ate at this new location and we loved the deliciously simple menu! From the first course to dessert, we found everything to be mouthwateringly good. While they need to work out some finer details with their service, the food looked and tasted great. The restaurant, located in Lowest Greenville, features cool and unique decor that fits in with the trendy neighborhood. This concept is sure to stay a success!

Yelp
Medium rare from DC open their first door in Dallas about a month ago, it is my first time here, it's it is a fixed menu. It comes with a bread, butter and salad. They also refill your steak for the second round. I would say it is pretty decent. If you like meat, I would definitely give it a try. The concept is like this famous restaurant in Paris. I talked to the server and he mentioned that the owner of the restaurant lived in Paris many years and it was the owners's favorite food. So that's why he bought it back to DC. Adapted a little bit and put a hint of American and their steak. I didn't have drinks or dessert(this is on a Tuesday night), but it looks like they have a good variety of desserts options on their menu. I went there with my husband. We have like dating vibe. I think it would be a good idea to bring your date there, I wouldn't recommend if you have a little kids because other than fries and some cake. They don't have anything else. For someone who likes the meat rare, I think they did a pretty good job, but I think the slice of meat could be just a little thicker. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with what we have here in Dallas. I can't complain

Yelp
We were excited to see this come to Dallas after having visited their DC location and it did not disappoint. We went for as a group of 3 for Sunday brunch and had a great time. For $35, you get bottomless drinks as well as a choice of salad/parfait/fruit salad and then steak frites, steak and eggs, steak and eggs sandwich or steak eggs Benedict. The Bloody Mary was absolutely delicious and well seasoned. We all went with the salad as our first course. It was a good serving and we all loved the dressing. For my main, the steak and poached eggs were fabulous. The frites were perfectly crispy. The steak is served with an creamy sauce that I wish you could buy by the bottle. Service was fast and attentive. The early 2000's play list was a big hit with our group (all in our 30's). Even the mimosas had a great flavor and they didn't cheap out on the bubbles. We can't wait to go back. This is an excellent bag for your buck.

Yelp
Not worth your money. Just felt cheap, like the company was cutting corners and you could tell. Save your money, go to steak yard off of northwest highway instead. 1/5 food for having one thing on the menu, they did it rather poorly. The bread was the best thing on the menu. The salad dressing was good, but was just lettuce and a couple of sad cherry tomatoes. No croutons. No cheese. Nothing else. The fries were impossibly salty. The meat (first one - was well done, second one - too raw) was not flavorable. The timing of the arrival of the food was ok - the plate of meat showing up in the middle of still consuming the salads. 2/5 decor a homeless person walked through the porch and interior going up to tables asking for money. Management did nothing. Am I 4? They wrote the order on the table that they covered with butcher paper?! They hung Christmas lights vertically, like they do in dorm rooms. Our waiter did ok, but forgot about us for 10 min at the beginning. All in all, my recommendation is to avoid!

Yelp
We made a reservation and were sat as soon as we got there. The issue was we sat there for about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. My cup has some kind of debris in the bottom and I was put off by that. The salad was good. The dressing was different but good. The bread was fantastic! A bit crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The steak was cooked well and seasoned ok. There was a sauce that I didn't really care for flavor wise. French fries were seasoned well and cooked fine. The restaurant was nice and clean. The music was a bit loud for my taste. I am a bit hard of hearing and with the music and other guests speaking loudly I could barely hold a conversation with my wife. All in all, it's just ok.

Yelp
Nothing about the restaurant was worth the time or money. Food came out cold, drinks weren't great.

Yelp
This was our first visit and we will be sure to return. I love the concept of a single entre that we love to eat - steak. The delicious in-house baked bread was served warm with plenty of butter and it accompanied a nice sized salad with a house dressing. The steak was tasty, tender, pre-sliced, about 5 oz. with a brown gravy. Frittes were hot out of the fryer, nice and thin. The big surprise was that seconds of frittes and steak were offered, so of course we accepted. Our waitress, Vanessa was pleasant and very accommodating. We were too full for dessert so we ordered a key lime pie to go. It too was very tasty with a good amount of citrus tang.

Yelp
A group of friends and I had brunch here and loved it The set brunch menu with endless brunch cocktails is awesome and a great deal! The service was top notch, food was delicious, and the vibe and decor is upscale yet comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing and the restaurant is gorgeous. I love the place but our server Laryn S was alright. I would have expected excellent service from a restaurant that is so highly regarded. The server was doing the bare minimum and seemed to attend to all the others around me and did not come by my table often. She was not rude, but for it being my first time and my girlfriend's first time I would have expected excellent service. I have gone to many other local restaurants that don't even cost half as much yet the service is 10x better. Very nice place but good service would definitely make it a lot better.

Yelp
My sisters and I stumbled upon this place tonight on accident. We met the manager Erik in the parking lot and his kind demeanor made us want to stop in and try it... and I am so glad we did! The service was amazing, Vanessa our server was so very kind and attentive. The steak was so very tender and the secret sauce is to die for! 10/10 & I am bringing my friends

Yelp
I was excited to try this new restaurant on Lower Greenville. There are some positives, the wait staff is well oiled and do a great job. The bread is awesome. But when you only serve one meal, you better do it better than medium, pun on well, but the steak, and I use that term loosely, was awful. It's simply a poor cut of steak. I won't be back, and I live within walking distance. I love the concept, hate the steak, not sure if you can get a steak at Denny's, but if you can, I guarantee you it's better than this.

Yelp
Steak was cold. Salad took forever. Nice waiter BUT for $600 $70 each including kids NOT! I'll go back to Al's. L doubt this place makes the summer.
