Megan's Kitchen

"The menu offers many Cantonese dishes, but steamed minced beef patty with dried mandarin peel, and Yu Xiang eggplant in claypot stand out in particular. Better still, all mains come with complimentary rice, soup and dessert. Their famous hot pots spoil diners with an array of soup bases and good quality ingredients. Those who prefer a little privacy will appreciate the booth seating with sliding screens as dividers." - Michelin Inspector

This is a really nice place for a relaxed dinner of great quality and value. The service was really nice, staff was friendly, helpful and attentative. The meat was absolutely top notch, and the soup bases tasted amazing. The kids were really happy as well, can only recommend this place.

As hot pot goes, this is the best. The ingredients are noticeably better than you get elsewhere. The flavour of the soups are pretty average. The best thing is, even after eating your fill here, you’re not left with that classic hot pot “overdone” feeling. The food light, fresh and tasty. The prices are pretty steep as it works out about $800 a head. But you definitely get that added extra for your money.

Great hot pot restaurant in Wan Chai. Quality of the food is very good. I did not have that usual bloated feeling or the usual MSG-overdose kind of discomfort after a hot pot meal. Service is very good too!

The dumplings and meatballs have unique fillings (there’s a peking duck dumpling!), and the vegetables are very fresh. The pork I had was nicely sliced - thin and with just the right amount of fat. They even have vegetarian options for the soup base and dumplings! Service was great, constantly being checked on by the staff if we need to add soup, utensils etc.

The restaurant is famous for their Cantonese style hot pot but we went to try their cooked dishes instead. Overall dishes were ok & nothing more than that. Barbecued pork was the worst dish for the night as the meat was too lean & not juicy or tender enough. Relatively the poached beef & soy sauce chicken were fairly yummy. Services were good perhaps because we had a private room.

I'm not an hot pot expert as this was our first experience. However, everything was excellent (especially the iberico pork, the truffle dumplings and the fried shrimp dumplings). We had two types of broth, one of which was very spicy. The waiter kindly helped us with our order since we were a little lost. The prices are quite steep though so be prepared. Overall, excellent and very enjoyable meal, would recommend if you have the budget for it.

Mmmmmm. The hotpot was sooo good with the beef. Unfortunately I was too busy eating to take any photos once the food started showing up. You’ll just have to believe me it is good 😅

Yay!! We found a good steamboat / hotpot in Hong Kong, Megan’s Kitchen. More than 10 types of soup base to choose from with a max of 3 in a pot. The soup actually come with lots of ingredients. To us, good soup is the most important for steamboat. 👍🏽 Winter Melon Soup w/ Lotus Seed, Dried Scallops & Chinese Ham 👍🏽 Chiu Chow Sea Clam Soup 🔹Sichuan Spicy Tofu Soup 👍🏽 US Deluxe Fatty Beef 👍🏽 Chinese Lettuce 🔹Braised Pork Mushroom Dumpling 👍🏽 Shrimp Wonton 🔹 KiKi Noodle 👍🏽 Hand Beaten Fresh Shrimp Paste Follow reviewikr on Instagram and Facebook for more reviews.

Yelp
Really good spot for hot pot in Wanchai. Fancier than I expected. We came on a Sunday evening and had a reserved private room. Honestly it didn't really matter too much since the restaurant was not very full but we are loud, rowdy bunch so I suppose it was good that we not bother the others too much. There were so many delicious items to choose from for our hot pot! We just elected one from our group to make the selections. We had beef, lamb, tofu skin, the veggie platter, beef meatballs, lotus root, umm...probably more that I can't even recall. Everything was very fresh and more importantly, was very tasty. We had two giant cauldrons of split broth - both spicy and mild - one for each side of the giant table. We also shares giant bottles of beer and soda. Our total came to about $400 + 10% tip HKD a person (7 people) based on what we ordered which for as tasty as it was, I'm a-ok with. If you're looking for a quick, cheaper version of hot pot, Megan's might not be for you. But then again, you might just have to adjust how much you order.
