The Best Restaurants for Affordable Dining in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Chinese bakeries are often a strong option for low-cost dining: Fluffy char siu bao are so often delicious, satisfying, and rarely over $3. Of the city’s few Chinese bakeries, this Southeast Powell spot is an under-sung gem, with egg tarts, pineapple buns, pork buns, and more often available for $2 or less. It’s also a smart stop to make on a birthday, with whole rolled sponge cakes rarely exceeding $12." - Katrina Yentch

Google
Unique egg tart. I dont think ive had one like this. The crust was crunchy & made to perfection. The center was on the sweeter side but definitely a must try. It was a plus that they came out warm.

Google
Everything you want for a Hong Kong style bakery. I’ve been looking all over the place for good egg tarts and have finally found my spot. Prices are great and the people working there are really friendly. Great for Chinese and English speakers alike. Go there - you won’t regret it.

Google
A hidden gem for fresh, flavorful Chinese pastries at unbeatable prices. The BBQ pork buns were everything you want—soft, glossy, generously filled with sweet, savory pork, and deeply satisfying. The surprise hit was the pineapple custard bun, with a creamy filling that tasted like a Chinese take on Boston crème—unexpected and absolutely delicious. Simple, affordable, and packed with flavor. I’ll definitely be back.

The food is absolutely amazing! It got varieties of choices I could choose. The prices are reasonable, not crazily expensive which I really like! Service is alright, because the clerk face is always frowning, not happily greeting their customers. But, this doesn't stop me from coming back purchasing their delicious goodies.

I went to this place because the moon cake I had at the Lan Su chinese garden was so dang good. The guy at the garden cafe said they get their moon cake at Mei Sum. It was my most amazing experience with the red bean paste. As an asian I am very keen about red bean. Mei Sum makes it just to the right amount of sweetness, and the pale scent of sesame oil on the pie crust goes crazy well with it. I love the texture of the red bean where it is not sticky and melting like the sugar on the powdered donut. Absolute fan now!

Google
The vanilla durian cake she made for my parents 50th anniversary was so delicious. Everyone loves it because it has 3 layers of cake and more filling. We love it so much that we highly recommended for anyone who loves durian cake. I accidentally order a full sheet (huge cake) and it wasn’t going to fit in our fridge so she offers to keep the cake until we pick it the next day. She was very nice to tell us that she likes to make the cake on the day of the party so that we eat it fresh. All around the best service.

Google
This little shop is easy to miss, but worth a visit. Between a Tea shop and Korean BBQ it is a bit squeezed in and narrow when crowded. There a are a few tables and chairs, but more of a pick up and eat out kind of place. They have a nice selection of baked goods from sponge cakes, wedding cakes, and egg tarts to flaky meat pies and savory buns. I saw sticky rice and Bao too! Prices seamed reasonable for the quality and freshness of the food. I was very pleased with everything I got and the customer service was really good. FYI: As of April 2022 they still request you wear a mask even though the state no longer requires.

Google
Love this family owned business, Their pastries/breads are yummy. For my fellow Latinos, if you ever find your self in here, I HIGHLY recommend trying out thier ****CUSTARD BUN. It tastes very similar to what I would picture as a reverse concha but soft and fluffy. They also sell out fast on Sundays, so it's best to go in the mornings.

Yelp
I came here again to order another birthday cake. It was easy to order and pick up. Cake was not too sweet, lots of fresh fruit and loved the cream. Sorry no pictures of the cake again. Also ordered some freshly baked bread, such as their hot dog bun, coconut cocktail bun, pineapple bun and bbq pork pineapple bun.

Yelp
This is our favorite Chinese bakery both for the usual baked snacks (bao, tarts, egg tarts, sesame balls, raisin bread), and their amazing birthday cakes! 8" Cakes are only $25 that are 2-3 layers high with fresh fruit and light whipped cream topping both in the middle and on top. Be warned that their most popular items will often sell out by the late morning or early afternoon, so try to go early or call ahead to have them reserved for later pickup.

Yelp
Solidly ok. Homesick for the corn and ham bao of my youth, I discovered this bakery. And while not as good, it will do when I'm hankering for an old school bbq pork bao or curry turnover or egg custard tart. I will be back.

Yelp
Love their baked pork buns and egg custard tarts. The selection of various items is quite ample.

Yelp
I've been shopping at the Winco near Mei Sum Bakery for a while now. I didn't even realize this place that I'd seen some good reviews for was right here! It's easy to miss in this little shopping mall. Thanks as always to other Yelpers for pointing out hole in the wall places that are worth checking out. I stopped by around 11am on a weekday, worried they'd be low on stuff. Not so. Of course, I don't know what I may have missed but there was plenty to choose from! I got some old favorites that I knew I would like as well as some things that just looked good. I don't remember the exact numbers but I think I got 6 items for like $11. It was less than I expected! I enjoyed everything I got! I'm not an expert in Asian baked goods so you may be a harsher critic than I. There's plenty more I'd like to come back to try and I'd order some of the same things again.
google avatar

Yelp
This is still a solid place to get some quick pastries at a reasonable price. It's best to go earlier to ensure a better selection of items. This visit I had their hot dog bun, bbq pork bun, and a Pineapple bun with taro inside. The selection was minimal as I came later in the day.

Yelp
I have a thing for baked Asian goods. It reminds me of my mom and all the delicious things she would bake-- hot dog buns, beef curry puffs, milk bread... Living across the country from her has made these goods less accessible, and I've been looking for something that could provide me piece of home away from home Mei Sum bakery is the bakery I didn't know I needed to try. I was here at the UPS store in the connected plaza on the far corner, decided to drive through the plaza to get to my next destination and saw Mei Sum Walking in, it's very unassuming. There's a small counter with a case of baked goods. I wasn't sure what to get because everything looked delicious. Hearing the orders of those ahead of me, I knew the BBQ pork bun was a must get. I ended up getting 4 BBQ pork buns, a fried dumpling (ham sui gok), and a cheese hot dog bun. Of note, there is a $10 minimum for credit card, if under the minimum you can still use it with a 50 cent up charge. Everything I got here was amazing. I love the flavorful BBQ pork filling, and I love the dough. The dough here has just the slightest sweetness to it and the perfect texture where it's soft without being soggy. Also, the BBQ pork buns here are massive! The hot dog bun and fried dumpling are also delicious as well. The dumpling is filled with BBQ pork....Yum! I am so glad I was able to try Mei Sum, and I definitely plan on coming back again. Thank you for being a piece of home away from home

Yelp
Quite a hidden gem. Great selection of well-sized savory Chinese pastries, everything tasted fresh and not like the kind where you know it's been sitting out for days. Really enjoyed the Pineapple BBQ Pork Bun, Pineapple Custard Bun, Egg Tart, Dry Pork Bun. Bring cash with you - otherwise it's a $10 minimum for card. If you're just buying a treat for yourself, you might be surprised how much you're getting once you realize all the pastries are between the $1 to $2 range. Service can be quite sluggish. Even though the staff are quick, customers can take a while to order. Can't blame them entirely though; the pastries are so affordable, how many are you supposed to buy?? Should I save some for breakfast tomorrow? Get a batch for mom? Coming back again next time I'm in Portland :)

Yelp
Stopped by here because I was craving for some Hum Bao and met these two sweet and nice ladies there. We ended up getting (6) Hum Baos, (1) curry pastries, (2) chicken pastries, (2) bbq pork pastries, (1) cream horn. The hum baos were perfect like always... wished there was a bit more filling but the bread was delicious on its own. The curry pastry is the best out of the 3 and I would definitely get more of those next time. Filling to dough ratio was perfect. The chicken one also had like sweet rice in it too.. wasn't a big fan. The bbq was good but I like the bbq pork buns better.

Yelp
If you read this review, My favorite bread that I didn't take a picture of was the Cake Roll! Pork Floss! I've been looking to try out pork floss and it was amazing! The pork floss bread had no filling but it was very soft, it would be nice to pair with other foods or make a torta (Mexican sandwich) with this bread!!! The service: it was okay, it's a mom and pop shop, there is a language barrier; you can say. Only 1 person at the counter, I say she tried to get everyone in and out :) I will say I learned how to say thank you in Cantonese. Thank you to the lady up front she told me there was sweet and savory breads. Nothing was too sweet, which is amazing!! Very small place! It was 5 pm and there was still a variety of items, I missed the pork buns :( ! Overall good!

Yelp
Love this place. A great alternative to American pastries, specifically donuts. These Asian baked goods are lower in sugar, and I think, maybe a little healthier. So, on my last visit, I asked what were the most popular of the selections. She replied; Sesame balls and BBQ pork buns. And they were delicious. Almond cookies, too, are very good. Quite an assortment to try. Each treat is about $1.50. Get there early as some goodies sell out. If you pay by card, you must meet minimum total of sale. Closed on Tuesdays.

Yelp
How lucky are we to have such a large Asian community in PDX with all of the food we'd only see on YouTube videos?! This bakery is amazing. Haven't had a sponge cake like theirs since my mom used to make her 7 layer cakes. Perfectly egg-y and fluffy, I ate myself sick... The filled pastries and buns are unique and delicious, sweet and savory, bbq or sweet cream cheese I wanted to try everything. Ended up with 6 different items and the total bill was $10.05! How can they afford to keep their prices so low when prices for everything around is just outrageous. Support this bakery. It's worth it

Yelp
09/22/21: 4.5 out of 5 - This is the busiest, slowest bakery ever. You would think people would come in to buy a few items, but it would seem that they get A LOT of items, which can hold up the line a bit. However, I don't blame the staff at Mei Sum Bakery. The items that they have on the daily is typically very tasty. I've been on the receiving end, so was the first time going into the bakery. I stopped into Mei Sum Bakery to pick up a birthday cake for my Mother-in-law's birthday. It was a Durian Birthday cake. I know...for some it can be off-putting, but it's VERY TASTY and well made. The staff at Mei Sum Bakery we're very nice to me, as I don't speak the same language, but they were quick to get the cake boxed up nicely. For many Asians, this is a good bakery to come to for their fix. So, if you are interested in trying out some delicious Asian buns and sweets, this is the place to try. If ever in the area, try it once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

Yelp
Oh, Mei! The savory and sweet buns are scrumptious! From the first bite of the scallion, bacon & cheese bun, I was craving another bite and instantly regretted not buying more. Now that I have experienced their deliciousness, it can never be erased from my memory and I will be going back to Mei Sum. Often. For those that have never been to a Cantonese bakery, give it a try! Unlike American donut shops filled with uber sweet doughnuts topped with super sweet icing and filled with and then topped with even more sugary stuff, the sweet buns and cakes here are on the low end of the sweet spectrum. They have a hint of sweetness and the buns are very light, airy, even sponge like. Which is what I prefer. When I visit a doughnut shop I get the unglazed plain, to give perspective. This tiny store contains a lot of goodness. Sample several, at $1.00-$1.50 a bun, getting 6, 8 or even a dozen to share is totally affordable. Heck, American doughnut shops charge $3-4 or more per doughnut! For the savory, definitely get the popular baked pork bun (Char Siu Bao) which I prefer over the more common steamed version. With its golden yellow exterior, soft bread like interior and sweet minced bbq port filling, I'd have 2 of these for lunch any day of the week! The real show stopper is the scallion, chopped bacon & cheese bun, with the delicious combination piled on top. I selected one and couldn't even wait to get home to eat it, devouring it in the car while driving home. Almost made a u-turn to go back, then realized I could go back anytime, so released the irrational "scallion bun shortage fear" and continued driving. The hot dog buns, with and without cheddar cheese, are wonderful. The delightfully sweet dough encasing the savory hot dog, were reminiscent of the classic hot dogs wrapped in Pillsbury crescents that I used to make for the Super Bowl parties and other gatherings. Soooo good! For sweet, I tried the pineapple bun which is appropriately named because of the crisis cross pattern on top. Inside was a light and delicious cream. Since it was my first time at Mei Sum, I wasn't sure of the process and communication as a bit challenging. When I selected a bun the woman put it in a tray, and I thought she was going to heat it up and I tried to explain I wanted to heat it at home. All this conversation was unnecessary as they don't heat them up! They put your selection on a tray so they can then determine how best to package. Bring cash. Or spend at least $10 since that is the minimum to use a card. Surprisingly, unless you are buying buns for a few people, it's challenging to hit the $10 minimum. When does that ever happen? My selection of 2 pork buns, 1 scallion, 1 hotdog and 1 pineapple bun came to $6.50. That's crazy good! Located in the Powell Street Station strip mall on the corner of SE Powell and 82nd (with the Winco) this unassuming bakery needs to be on your list. I'm doubtful that I could ever drive down SE 82 without stopping in for a bun or several. Impossible to resist.

Yelp
I love the egg custard they make here! Mind you, I live close to an hour away and i am willing to make the drive here. A couple times they were sold out of egg custards when I arrived but the owner said I could call ahead and order some.

Yelp
Not a negative reviewer, but this place is just bad. Service from the lady working was level 0. She just did not care one ounce and had such a rude attitude to her. Her tone, willingness to help, and approachability was just atrocious. She had her back turned to us the entire time we were browsing the case and shouted out if we want to get anything and when we replied, yes, she just ignored or acted like she didn't hear and carried about her business with her back turned. Made me not want to order anything from the bakery case at all, but decided to give the items a shot, why not. Disgustingly poor quality baked items. The almond cookie was just one giant dust crumble. No flavor and felt like I was just chomping on hard, expired/condensed dust. Didn't even want to finish it so I moved onto the next pastry which was supposed to be filled with cream, but they either skimped out or just flat out decided to create a dud because there was practically no filling at all, maybe a tiny dab or two. It was just tasteless bread that wasn't even enjoyable to the point where I couldn't even add my own peanut butter or something to it. Thinking third times the charm, but then thought about it again...I didn't even attempt to try the cornbread thing as it just couldn't be good. So three strikes and I was out. I will never return to this place again. The Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant next door is really good though.

Kathleen N.

Yelp
I love this bakery! The buns are fresh and delicious. Love the sponge cake (daan goh) and flakey egg tarts that are just perfect. The bolo char siu baos are the mmmm mmmm mmm- no wonder they run out if you come too late. The owner is so nice and remembers repeat patrons like you just in here yesterday. Just an amazing bakery to and recommend.

Yelp
I got their red bean mooncakes last week and needless to say, they were fantastic. The egg-y crust was packed tightly with scrumptious red bean fillings and it made the perfect snack for Autumn Festival. They have other things like pineapple buns, custard filled pineapple buns, egg tarts, etc. and they're ALL amazing. It takes me back to Asia!
google avatar

Raquel F.

Yelp
I walked into the bakery and looked at all of the delectable looking bread in the case. Immediately, I noticed how legit the bakery items looked and I instantly knew this place was legit and good. Of course, I had to get the pineapple bun. It was so soft and fluffy. It also had a pretty authentic flavor and texture. The pineapple bun was $1. You can't even find that price anywhere anymore! We also got the egg tart which looked flaky just like how an egg tart should be. I also saw some raisin bread and got a loaf for $2.50. I haven't really explored Chinese bakeries in the Portland area but I'm happy Mei Sum is here to satisfy my bakery needs! The only thing I would keep in mind is that you need to spend a minimum of $10 to use your credit card.

Alex N.

Yelp
We have been here a few times. Recently got their durian cake for my dad's birthday and it was the best cake all of us have ever had. Their mooncakes are also amazing.

Mary J.

Yelp
These were some of the nicest people I've encountered in Oregon. I wanted Bao Buns in Seattle but the impending storm sent us scurrying out of Washington heading back towards AZ. My husband told me to find a place in Portland and we could stop. I bought 1 bun and the girl behind the counter was sweet she said the buns were cold to heat them at home. I told her I didn't know when I'd be home. She heated my bun. When I tried to tip her she gave me cookies when I said no that was a tip she insisted on the cookies, more buns .....geez I left with a bag full of goodies and hardly spent 10.00.
google avatar

Kim I.

Yelp
Why haven't I been here sooner? This place is so great and their pastries are so affordable. I'm used to paying like $3-5 + dollars for my Asian goodies, but here they are all around $1. So clutch and incredible. I had the hotdog and cheddar bun and it was yummy. I would love if it was toasted there freshly, but all dreams can't come true. I'll bring my box home and do a few mins in the air fryer and boom, perfection. They also has an abundance of moon cakes which I was having a hard time finding for my dad. My car is loaded with pastries and so cheap. I'll be back here lots! So glad yelp steered me here on my random search for moon cakes.

Kenneth B. J.

Yelp
Excellent baked Chinese char siu bao and bread goods, at a reasonable price. In the Winco parking lot.

Gloria L.

Yelp
Beautiful Chinese fruit cakes! Highly recommend! Also try other pastries especially egg tarts!

Yelp
Simply the best out of all the Chinese bakery around SE Portland this is my favorite place Gai Mai Bao or coconut milk bun is the best here! People are nice and prices are good

Yelp
Looked around for quite a bit before finding their ( ground beef and potato) curry puffs!!!! Yum- tender flaky puff pastry surrounding a moist delicious filling that's very slightly sweet and just a touch of curry flavor ( I am used to a little stronger favors in the Thai version of this but this pastry crust is amazing). My new go- to! The green onion ( ham) bun was also a favorite and I have had their steamed buns before also delicious. Highly recommend this place for their buns and bakery items ...
google avatar

Kristi P.

Yelp
Great Chinese bakery! Everything is fresh, and regular-to-large sized. Most buns are $1-$1.30, so it's very easy on the wallet. Some of my favorites include the curry puff, which is filled with soft curry-seasoned ground beef. The puff pastry is a little sweet, which offers a nice balance of flavors. The char siu bun is large with a nice soft, slightly sweet dough. The pineapple custard bun is also yummy with a nice creamy texture to the custard filling. (FYI: the "pineapple" buns are not pineapple-flavored; it just refers to the appearance of the top of the bun) It's located in the same shopping center as Fred Meyer close to the 82nd side. I'll definitely stop by whenever I visit Fubonn.

Yelp
Rating Mei Sum Bakery was easy. It was a piece of cake ... It's a bakery joke ... omfg guys ... whatevs ... your dad would LOVE this joke ... just roll with it, ok ... A slice of Sweet Cake was cute ... and a-ok ... meanwhile, a Red Bun Roll was also fairly average. Neither is a cake or roll I need again in my life, but I won't say no to either neither because I don't always make the best choices in life when I step into a bakery. Like, whenever I have to choose between Buns of Steel or Buns of Pineapple. Well, real buns aren't born, baby. They're bread. Bread with Cream. Bread with Red Bean. Bread with Pineapple. I said "YES" to all three Mei Sum Bakery buns. They were just alright, but life was better because it ain't no fun unless you've got buns, hun. To round out my Mei Sum selections, I added a sweetness-stuffed Cream Horn with Sugar and Sprinkles. The horn wasn't nearly as flaky or fresh as I like which meant the hole stuffed with cream was the only really awesome part ... proving that "the Hole was greater than the Mei Sum parts." This review was much like the treats from Mei Sum Bakery: sweet and stale, but no reason to sugar coat things ... 3 stars and a-ok.

Yelp
TLDR: egg custard bun! Small bakery with limited seating. Parking lot shared with other businesses. They cater and take special orders. There is no menu. Pastries are displayed in the case and labeled with a name and price only. Not very descriptive for the inexperienced Asian pastry shopper. However, the staff are nice and know enough English to describe the fillings of each pastry. This is an "Asian level sweet" bakery. Don't expect to get a sugar high or anything. Everything is moderately sweet and oh so fluffy. They lack filling though. I'm not a professional baker and don't know how much filling is allotted in baked goods but I do feel like they are skimping out. Service: order at the pastry display case, pay at the register, your pastries will be boxed/bagged for you as needed. Egg Custard Bun: my all time favorite! I always wish there is more custard than there actually is but it is still so good! The egg custard is not as runny as regular custard, it's more clumpy and is so satisfying in my opinion. But like I said, once you bite into it and see how little there is in there you will be sad. Lotus Paste with Egg: another favorite sweet of mine. It's almost like a moon cake with a dried egg yolk inside. Man, reviewing it makes me want another. Sponge Cake: like eating a sweet egg cloud! One of my personal carb addictions. I could snack on one of these all day. Oops. I forgot to take pictures because I was too excited to eat them. Haha!

Yelp
In Portland we don't have a ton of Chinese bakeries and this is always our go to. It's small and family run and on the weekends get here early enough otherwise you may miss out on red bean pastries! Most items are $1 Here. Can't miss are the pork buns, egg tarts, red bean and taro filled items. Nothing is overly sweet which is traditional. They have beautiful custom whole cakes or slices for $2. You really can't beat the pricing/quality here. Close to the new year they do have moon cakes!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here yesterday. Very small shop so only a few patrons fit at a time if everyone is practicing social distancing appropriately. But let's get to the snacks. This place is hands down one of my favorite bakeries. Everything is delicious. I especially enjoyed the rice ball this time. Not sure what's inside but the inside is dry and flaky and mixed with the glutinous rice ball surrounding it, it's a great textural mix. Everything here is on average about $1 - $1.50. I got 5 things and paid less than $8. What a deal.

Yelp
This is my go to Asian bakery for all my baos, buns, etc. They have all the classics: pineapple bun filled with coconut, red bean, cream, raisin, or just plain. BBQ bun in a couple various configurations. Scallion and bacon. Ham and corn. And so on. The staff is always very friendly and the price is on point. I've ordered a traditional cake with fruit filling and it was good but just not as moist as I'd like.

Yelp
Pandan roll sponge cake - delicious! This bakery has lots of yummy sweet (and savory) buns - fresh and tasty.

Yelp
This place is hidden gem and excellent taste... I tried several treats in my first buy and no regrets.. A great place for costs and will recommend.

Yelp
All the Cantonese standards here ! Coconut bun, yellow sponge cake, red bean buns, buttery curry filled biscuit turnover things, nai wong bao, BBQ pork buns... game and egg, and my beloved hot dog buns ....and all of them were so fresh and so good . This place is the best Chinese bakery i have been to in Portland and also the cleanest. Comparable to the good ones in Oakland Chinatown. Soooo cheap ... 1 dollar for a bun ... that's like mid 90s style prices :) . So yummy

TIna L.

Yelp
They don't have a large variety like they had before, but the quality of the buns is really good. I had one pineapple bun, and it was soft and delicious. My husband has the cream bun and he said he loved it. Will be coming back to try more food, but hope they will offer a larger variety. We enjoy going here and not having to wait in line or commute all the way down to 85 Degrees
google avatar

Theresa C.

Yelp
A wonderful little bakery that makes delectable Chinese pastries. They don't over produce so you know most of their baked goods are fresh, and haven't been sitting for days. They're a small business so wait patiently, and peruse the choices that are in the display cases. I would say this is one of my favorite little stops in the SE area. Their prices also can't be beat.
google avatar

Laurel O.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and delicious goodies. A great selection of traditional and more modern pastries. Couldn't ask for a better experience. A little difficult to get in and out of their parking lot, but that's not on them.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
This has become my favorite Asian bakery in the area. Sundays and Mondays are the best days to go. They always have tons of selections, and service is fast and friendly. I recommend the peanut bun! Everything is very cheap, and fresh!

Yelp
A gem in the jade district. Authentic Chinese/Taiwanese bakery with bubble tea under $3 and $1 pineapple buns.
google avatar

Ryan Y.

Yelp
Decided to give this place another try. Disappointed again. Wife's cake is bland. Egg custard tart is runny, not baked long enough. Price is competitive to King's Bakery, but the quality, taste, variety, and quantity do not compare.
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
Was so happy to find this local Cantonese bakery! Mei Sum reminds me of my childhood -- many a days spent going to the bakery with my mom and brother and picking out our favorite buns for the family. They have all the classics: ham and cheese, pineapple bun, cha siu bao (BBQ pork), custard, you name it. My partner and I bought a little bit of everything to try that day and devoured half the box before we got home. I personally prefer a pineapple bun with a crispier pineapple crust and the ham siu gok was a bit too oily for my liking, but we really enjoyed getting a taste of "home" here in Portland. We're excited to come back for more!

Yelp
Mei Sum bakery is one of the many Asian bakeries in the area. It is a small business with two cases of fresh baked goods in three rows and some refrigerated items including cakes in the third case as well as some pastries. I had a friend who told me to try the BBQ pork buns and I did. They were good and I liked them but they were a bit sweeter than I am used to. If you like savory items, the curry beef turnover was tasty as was the corn sausage bun. As far as the sweet items, I enjoyed the lotus pie, red bean pie and the red bean roll. After I finished my order I tried to pay with my credit card but there is a ten dollar minimum. I asked for some additional items and hit the limit! Sadly, when I got out to my car I noticed that young man behind the counter forgot some of my coconut goodies! Fortunately he didn't charge me for them, so I don't feel so bad. I really like coconut so that was a bit of let down. They have bubble tea available but I had just had hot tea before coming here. I figure next time I come I will try the coconut bubble tea. There are a few tables inside but they were all taken so I decided to sit in my car and eat my BBQ pork bun. If I was in the area I'd stop in again, but I'd bring cash with me! I bought way too much stuff this time! But it was soooooo good!

Yelp
Hidden gem. Absolutely delicious bakery goods at a very cheap price. Hope this place stays the same and doesn't raise prices because it is such an amazing shop. Huge plus because not only is the food a childhood favorite but the interior serves as a nostalgic reminder haha. High recommend.

Yelp
Cheap and good eats! I've been coming here since they opened. They have pastries, cakes, as well as bubble tea. Everything is relatively affordable and pretty good quality.

Yelp
Fresh Chinese breads, buns and cakes. Large, fluffy and soft, although I've had softer. They have the basics like the pineapple cake and cream buns. They also have flavors that I haven't seen elsewhere. Good price point, most items $1.

Yelp
Great bakery. Ordered a lot and was not disappointed by a single bite. I highly recommend their egg tart, the curry beef tart and the coconut flower bun but I look forward to trying more from their menu.

Yelp
DRY PORK BUN. If you haven't had it, you need to try it! I always crave for asian pastries and I went to this place yesterday and will definitely be coming back! It didn't cost and arm and a leg to buy anything here and the quality was so good! I can't wait to try other things!
