"Mei Wei Jin Hai is a family-run halal restaurant in Monterey Park that specializes in Chinese Islamic cuisine. It’s a relatively new spot compared to its long-standing neighbors, but the food here shouldn’t be underestimated. Whether it’s a giant platter of spicy JinHai chicken or lamb and chive dumplings that arrive to the table looking like thick, miniature pancakes, the food at this bright cafe is bold, flavorful, and different than anything else you can get in the neighborhood." - Brant Cox

"This family-run restaurant in Monterey Park specializes in Chinese Islamic cuisine, which means that everything from their spicy JinHai chicken to their thick chive dumplings is completely halal. This is the kind of bold, flavorful food that’ll be able to bring you back from the brink of existential collapse when you accidentally glance at a calendar with your now-canceled plans on it. Their entire menu is available for takeout and delivery, call (626) 703-4468 or order through their website." - kat hong

Located in an Asian area and the Oriental dish w/ rice was horrible. I guess I am use to Americanized Chinese foods.

Its grilled leeks, gluten, steamed buns, and potato chips are all delicious. Go once a week.

Changed my rating from a 1* to 3 because the food was delicious, but the food is definitely not Halal. Pork was heavily on the menu. False advertising

I picked up 5 different skewers, cucumber salad and white rice and all was super delicious. I can see where ordering over phone will be a problem if you don’t speak Chinese. Food is bomb though and plan to go back soon.

the foods are decent, the service is not. When I was about to check out, one of the waitress (the older one) stood next to me and was pointing at the bill about how much tips she wanted to charge and rushed me to sign.

Good cantonese food but one take out food ordered was missing when I got home.

NOT HALAL! Had to verify on Yelp. Called the restaurant to verify, and couldn't get an answer from the lady on the phone. What a shame.
