The Best Restaurants At Westfield Century City, Ranked - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You can find pretty much anything inside this 1,300,000-sq. ft. shopping mall, including some of the best peking duck outside the SGV. Meizhou Dongpo is a Beijing-based restaurant that serves a plump, glossy $89 duck that comes neatly sliced on a cute duck-shaped platter. It also serves as a beautiful centerpiece for all of the spicy, lip-tingling things you can surround it with, like poached sliced beef swimming in bright red chili oil and fried chicken coated in a mountain of Sichuan peppercorns. It’s an outrageous (and incredible) meal to have next door to an AMC, but it’s what we need after untangling ourselves from the H&M sales rack." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

The Best Restaurants In Century City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Spend enough time tangled in sweaters at the H&M sales rack and you'll need to decompress with a good meal at Westfield Century City before navigating that maze of a parking structure. Go to Meizhou Dongpo, a Beijing-based chain that makes some of the best Peking duck outside the SGV. It gets carved up by a chef tableside. We usually throw in some dan dan noodles and spicy chili chicken covered in Sichuan peppercorns and call it a day." - sylvio martins, brant cox, nikko duren

The 6 Best Restaurants For Peking Duck In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Eating an entire peking duck at the mall sounds equal parts outrageous and incredible (because it is). Meizhou Dongpo is a place to partake in such luxuries. Located inside the Westfield Century Mall, this Beijing-based restaurant serves a whole duck for $89, which comes neatly sliced on a cute duck-shaped platter. The meat is plump, and the glossy, deeply browned skin crackles in your mouth. It’s an indulgent meal that easily beats any food court option, so consider splurging on a whole duck before a night at AMC." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren

I can’t say this is the best Peking duck — more like the Peking duck that lives down the street and is just good enough when I’m too lazy to drive further. The food is a solid three stars, the service is fine, nothing outstanding. I keep coming back though, mostly because it’s within walking distance. Sometimes it surprises me in a good way, other times I wonder if the chef is on vacation and left his cousin in charge.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait. We ordered the half Meizhou roast duck ($49.99), A choy ($17.99), and braised pork with brown sauce and bamboo shoots ($26.99). The Peking duck was not the best I've had. It was thinly sliced, but didn't have much meat. The meat wasn't noticeably tender or flavorful, and the skin wasn't noticeably crispy. There was a heater underneath the plate to keep the duck warm so that was interesting. They gave us thin pancakes instead of the traditional buns, so I wasn’t a fan of the pancakes either. For the price, I expected the Peking duck to be mindblowingly good. The braised pork was solid, but not the most tender. The A choy was good and not too salty. Ambiance is nice and service is good. They filled our water frequently throughout the meal. Overall, I wasn't impressed by the food here.

Google
Amazing food and service as always! We ordered roasted duck, bamboo shoots, cold noodles with chicken, garlic vermicelli pot with shrimp. Our server’s recommendation was on point and everything was delicious.

Google
This is an incredibly authentic Sichuan restaurant! We used to eat at this chain often when we were living in China, where they have many locations. We were so surprised and excited to find one here in Irvine! The service is warm and welcoming, and the flavors are just as authentic as we remembered from China. Highly recommend trying it out — make sure to order the Peking Duck, Mapo Tofu, and Bang Bang Chicken. They may look spicy, but they are actually rich in flavor and absolutely delicious!

Google
The furniture is in a horrible shape there (see pics) and it's very overpriced for what they serve. Only duck was fine but the other dish was mostly peanuts and not tasty at all. No napkins in the bathroom etc. And almost 100$ for a lunch for 2. Service was friendly but nothing special. I am not coming back.

Google
I had lunch here with my husband and we couldn’t believe how delicious all of the food was. I ordered the ma po tofu which had the perfect amount of spiciness and the roast duck was cooked to perfection and not greasy at all. Can’t wait to come back.

We had a lovely dinner with family at Meizhou Dongpao. Highlights were the Peking duck and the short ribs. The meal overall was fantastic and the restaurant was packed.

Google
Update May 2025: Since the original review, we have returned many times including for a Thanksgiving meal and the food quality has been consistently high with service efficient and friendly. The only slight negative is the worn and torn condition of the booth cushions, which are scheduled to be replaced according to our server. ------------ The Meizhou roast duck is as good as advertised. The Bangbang chicken is a perfec cold and chicken dish swimming in a spicy and oily "soup". Mapo tofu with Angus beef is perfect but be sure to ask for a bowl of rice. The string beans could be a bit more wrinkled but it was delicious. The cucumber salad brings a cold and crisp reprieve from all the spice. The team based service is quick and efficient, and the kitchen sent out our food in a flash as we were there for a late lunch and the dining room had just a few occupied tables. I will be back to taste more of the broad menu.

Yelp
Their roasted duck is a must! If you don't get it, you really didn't come here. Very friendly and helpful servers on picking out flavors, quantity of food, and types of foods. Hot, cold, veggies, meats, carbs. Family style resturant. We ordered the half duck, oxtail soup, peppered beef, fried green beans, and fried buns. My favorite was their duck and green beans. Server was Tayt, funny and professional. You can tell he loves his job.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place because it just looks good. Came in a little early on a Friday night. We had a short wait before being seated. The restaurant decore nice, it felt a little more upscale, but attire was casual. We tried a variety of dishes and they were all very good. The seem to be famous for their roast duck, but the combo was $55.00 which was a little more than we were looking to spend on a single dish alone. Don't get me wrong, everything was delicious, the service was great, the ambiance was excellent, but not sure that I enjoy any dish for that price. I highly recommend. Come, enjoy, and celebrate a special occasion, or date night. The food and service does not disappoint.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was delicious and very flavorful with bursts of incredible aromatic smells. The service was impeccable, Tayt, was very helpful with what to order and described the menu well. Jeff was insightful with helping on how to make a cake "burrito" with our duck dish. Highly recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is family oriented and has an authentic feel. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is my grandparents' favorite restaurant. I come every time I visit them. Excellent food, the duck, eggplant, and liang fen are highlights. Attentive service too!
google avatar

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place! I have been coming here for years. Basically any dish you get will be delicious, but my personal favourites are the chili oil beef, the snakehead in chili oil, orange chicken, and roast duck. The service is excellent too. The waitstaff are attentive, friendly, and professional. The restaurant itself is clean and gorgeously decorated and it always smells so good in here. If I could give 100 stars, I would

Yelp
This is a nice more upscale/elevated (but not too fancy) Chinese restaurant that serves as a great place for large group celebrations! We came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner with a party of approximately 35 people. There were private rooms available but they allowed us to sit in the main dining room at adjacent tables which was more affordable than booking a private room. The parking is easy since it's located by a big lot. The food itself was not the best Chinese food but got the job done! Our favorite was the orange chicken, it was very crispy on the outside with a nice citrus flavor. We also ordered the Mongolian beef and Peking duck, which came out in very thin/small pieces. The mapo tofu had a very mild kick to it. Overall great ambiance and food was good!

Yelp
The food here was very tasty and had some very authentic flavors. First off we had the Dan Dan noodles and the classic pork. Both very tasty but the pork seemed a little pricy for the amount of pork there was in each dish. Next we branched out and tried the Serrano Pepper Beef, Wow was that an interesting new flavor for us! I wasn't aware of the intense numbing sensation that would be coming my way, but the flavor was super good and we really enjoyed trying it. We ended with the half duck, which was pretty good but seemed to be lacking in the flavor Im typing looking for in Peking duck. The ambiance of this restaurant was amazing. Very family friendly with giant round tables with spinning lazy Susan's for large families to share. Our servers were extremely friendly and attentive. Loved the decor, very beautiful. All in all we really enjoyed the food and it was a great end to our day!
google avatar

Yelp
This felt like a true Sichuan Experience, the intense numbing flavors were a total trip to my family and I. We love trying new flavors. To start out the Dan Dan noodles are tasty, just not my favorite I've had when compared to places like SF. The Serrano Pepper Beef was for sure unlike anything I have ever had, and I'm not sure my tongue will ever feel the same... I totally enjoyed this, as did my wife. My kids scarfed it down, but while calling it "pretty weird." The classic pork was good, but at $10 for a single 2" piece, that price was a bit much. The last thing we had was the half duck which was in fact good, but this is probably my least favorite Peking style duck I've had anywhere. The Peking I like to get pretty often where I live is half the price of this, and the taste has much more depth. Overall still a good experience and I'm glad we went out and tried it while in the area!

Yelp
This place is very authentic and is a pleasant place to dine. Irvine has a lot of Asian food and it is hard to rise above everyone else. Most of the customers are Chinese so this should suggest this is a good place to eat. The staff all wear nice uniforms and are all very nice and are "on it". The atmosphere is clean and bright. The food is great. The fried rice, peanuts, duck, stir fried string beans, Kung Pao chicken and beef tenderloin were all outstanding. Note that the food comes out very fast (within 15 minutes when we went at 5:30) except that the duck came out in about 40 minutes. If you want duck it is best to order it as soon as you sit down while you are looking at the menu, or ask for the duck to be served first if you want it as an appetizer course.
google avatar

Yelp
Preordered three items before the restaurant even open for an 11:45 pickup. Arrived at 12, and reception said another ten more minutes. 10 minutes later, the same reception said another 20 minutes. 12:20 pm... and still no food. Great service to restaurant because I just love waiting for my preorder food.

Yelp
My buddies and I were craving some Peking duck, and this restaurant did not disappoint. Just a heads-up: make sure to place your duck order as early as possible since it takes some time to prepare, but it's worth the wait. They also serve the duck with the thin pancakes instead of buns. We also tried the jellyfish appetizer, stir-fried vegetables, fried rice, and the bang bang chicken, all of which were delicious. The sauce for the bang bang chicken was especially good with rice; rich, flavorful, and super satisfying. Try to make a reservation if you can, the place was pretty packed and busy when we went. The restaurant was decorated pretty nicely too, it's a more of a fancy Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Meizhou Dongpo is my favorite place to get duck in Orange County. The roasted duck is consistently great, with fantastic flavor and good contrast in textures between the succulent meat and the crispy skin. Besides the duck, the other dishes we had on this visit included the chili oil poached sole (Szechuan-poached fish, which was very good), abalone rice (which was great), Mongolian Beef, wide rice noodles with beef, sautéed green beans, sautéed pea shoots, chicken pot-stickers, and a couple of items from the dim sum menu that disappeared into my kids mouths before I could account for them.
google avatar

Angela Y.

Yelp
I would eat here everyday if I could. The authentic food, loud ambiance, and fast service made me feel like I'm transported to one of those fancy restaurants in China. We came here with the duck and dongpo pork, and also ordered the spicy wontons, eggplants, and Dan Dan noodles. All of them lived up to my expectations. The dongpo pork is served in small servings (per person) of 4 pieces. I suggest getting 1 for 2 people to share to leave room for other dishes. It's extremely flavorful and tender. The duck is roasted perfectly. Super crispy and retained its moisture. The noodles and wontons are flavorful as well. The eggplants are a little greasy but nonetheless delicious. We had 3 people and devoured all the food instantly

Yelp

Yelp
Incredible restaurant in Orange County!! If you're in the Irvine area, definitely don't skip on this place. Food: the Orange Chicken is probably the BEST I've ever had. The chicken is crispy and the sauce is perfectly sweet and just the right consistency. Another one of our favorites was the Sweet and Sour Fish! The food is stunning coming out, perfectly crispy, with a delicious sauce. The oxtail and tomato soup was also a favorite of ours, very clean tasting and refreshing (keep in mind this is ordered as a single serving). If you like short rib, don't skip it! The sautéed short ribs are perfectly moist and served with a delicious sauce and pickled onions. For vegetables, we loved the wok-fried green beans and cucumber salad. Of course, don't skip the Meizhou roast duck, our family of five split the half size which was enough with all the other entrees. One of their new items, the garlic shrimp vermicelli, was one of our favorites! It was just garlicky enough and super tasty! We tried the watermelon juice which was also refreshing, a very nice addition to our meal. The service here was incredible! Tayt was incredibly kind and did a fantastic job recommending the perfect dishes to compliment our selections and create a cohesive meal for our Father's Day celebration! The restaurant is beautiful and clean, not too loud, and a great place to have a nice meal with family or friends. Parking is very easy in the lot outside the restaurant. Will certainly be returning to this neighborhood favorite!

Yelp
I've tried the shrimp fried rice from here before but only as a to-go order, and I loveeeee it!!! Their fried rice is seriously so good, it made me come back to try more of their menu. First impression- the place is beautiful. The outside and the inside are very big and luxurious. They could use an upgrade on the seats, though (ours were peeling a lot). Their service was excellent as well. I don't speak Chinese, and some of the people who helped us spoke little english, but they were super kind and made an effort to make sure we were ordering exactly what we wanted which I appreciated a lot. Onto the food!! What we ordered- String beans: 7/10 solid, but nothing crazy. Comparable to din tai fung's except a little less garlic and a hint of Szechuan spice. Shrimp fried rice: 10/10 a fav!!! I love how they use those huge juicy shrimp instead of the smaller ones you usually get with shrimp fried rice. The color is very dark but it doesn't taste very different from other delicious shrimp fried rice! Beef filet with black pepper: 9/10 yummmm!!!!!! The beef was sooo tender and soft and the flavor was amazing. It was peppery and garlicky and the onion and whole garlics in there were super tasty as well. Sweet and sour fish: 7/10 this was pretty good I love the look of it and how it was very crispy when it arrived. The flavor is also good, wish it was just a little more sour and a little less sweet. I think this is worth trying once because it's so fun, but beware of fish bones!!! I almost swallowed one. But that's the only one that any of us noticed so it might have just been a fluke. But also, the fish was $70 alone so I would have rated it higher if it was a little less pricey.

Yelp
I visited Meizhou Dongpo again with my family today. I still really love the roast duck, and the liangfen (cold jelly noodles) is my favorite -- highly recommended! The service was also excellent. Definitely worth recommending.
google avatar

Yelp
All of the dishes we got were amazing: Sweet & Sour Fish and Roasted Duck presentation was beautiful. Staff is super attentive and the interior is pretty--10/10 would come back, especially to treat out special guests!

Yelp
We tried this place a couple of times now and have been very impressed with the quality of the food and service. A few of the stand out items are: The dongpo pork which is extremely tender and flavorful. The Dan Dan noodles had a really good noodle texture and balanced flavor. The egg plant in spicy garlic was one of the best I've ever had. The garlic was crispy and had a good textural contrast. The angus beef with black pepper sauce was really tender and flavorful.
google avatar

Kenny L.

Yelp
We got the chili oil beef, cold mung bean noodles, mapo tofu, fried and steamed buns with condensed milk. We wanted to get the dongpo pork, but they have ran out for the day. We went at roughly 1 PM. The rest of the food was good though, would recommend nonetheless. My favorite was the fried and steamed buns with condensed milk. With all the heavy food that we ordered, I felt that it was a great change of flavor and pace. It my first time having cold mung bean noodles and I was pleasantly surprised because I did not know how it was going to be. It was pretty refreshing to say the least. It was also my first time ordering chili oil beef and it was intense, but in a good way. The mala flavors were very apparent and I wouldn't have it any other way.
google avatar

Uri P.

Yelp
Great service overall, food is fantastic. We got the Peking Duck, blooming fish, fried rice, orange chicken, broccoli (so good), string beans, and mapo tofu! My family came from out of town and they loved this place and were wondering why we haven't been here yet - it's amazing. Tayt, Jean, Jason, and Jeff were tremendous! What an awesome team. The ambiance is incredible- we love it here.

Yelp
Lots of parking around the plaze, a solid chinese food restaurant. If you want the duck though prepare to wait because they cook them on the spot. So you might need to wait around 30 mins. They make their duck beijing style so with wraps and not buns like how a lot of american chinese restaurant prepare them. We ordered a few other dishes and all were pretty solid.

Helia L.

Yelp
Had such a fun time dining here with my family! Our waiter Tayt was super nice and provided excellent service throughout. It does get a little busy so I'd keep that in mind for dinner

Yelp
Meizhou Dongpo delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is a perfect balance of traditional Sichuan flavors and beautifully prepared modern dishes. The signature Dongpo pork is melt-in-your-mouth tender, with just the right richness and depth of flavor. The mapo tofu has the perfect kick of spice balanced by silky texture, and the handmade noodles are fresh and full of character. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted and true to authentic Sichuan roots. What really stands out is the attention to detail--from the elegant plating to the consistent quality of each course. The service is attentive without being overwhelming, and the staff are knowledgeable about the menu, always ready to recommend the perfect pairing. Whether you're here for a casual meal or a special occasion, Meizhou Dongpo exceeds expectations every time. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine done with finesse!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely amazing service and great food! Highly recommend the pepper steak with onions, kung pao shrimp, and on choy! Peking Duck is super crispy too.
google avatar

Cathy L.

Yelp
We met our cousins here while in town. We ordered Dan Dan noodles, chicken dumplings, won ton soup for the kids. They really enjoyed it but i did not get to taste their foods. I very much enjoyed the duck that you make wraps out of as well as the fish with sprouts. The eggplant dish and pork belly were good too.

Lora H.

Yelp
We came for roast duck and it was delicious. Our family of 4 finished the entire duck. Also had kung pao chicken and wonton soup, these were just ok. Friendly service, but had a slight misunderstanding due to language barrier (server mistook peach ice tea for a pitcher of ice tea). I knocked off one star because the decor is a bit run down, furniture peeling ruins the vibe. Would come back with friends when we crave roast duck.

Yelp
I had a good experience at this restaurant when it first opened many years ago as it was considered upscale Chinese food so was excited to go back and try the meals again with a friend. The parking can be challenging as it is in a busy strip mall so leave plenty of time for parking and walking to the restaurant. The restaurant needs some updating as the seats were all ripped and huge chunks of fabric was missing. We were also seated near the restroom so you could smell urine where we were so that made for a slightly unpleasant experience. We ordered 3 dishes. The stir fried mushrooms came with 3 varieties and the flavor was excellent. The wok spicy hot pot was also pretty good. They were able to make it less spicy since I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. The flavor was good but the pork was slightly tough and I didn't care for the Spam in the dish. The last dish was the pork belly. It came with about 10 pieces of very thinly sliced pork belly and the rest was the preserved vegetable. It was quite salty and I think it would've been better if there was a tiny bit of sugar added. Overall, I was disappointed in the portion size and quality of food for the price as well as the condition of the restaurant.

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer since the Arcadia opening and have continued to support your Irvine location after moving cities. However, my experience for today has left me extremely disappointed. I arrived with a 7:45 PM quoted seating time and was told I'd be seated in about 5 minutes, with only one party ahead of me. That party--a group of 4--was seated promptly. I'm a party of 3, and we waited patiently. Then, a party of 5 who arrived after us was seated almost immediately. When I raised my concern, I was told they were placed at a table of 12, as if that justified skipping us. Frankly, that response isn't good enough. A party of 3 could have also been seated at a larger table, or at least given an update or explanation--anything but silence. By the time we were told to be finally seated (which I have chosen to leave) we'd waited over 30 minutes. On a Tuesday night, with a quoted 5-minute wait time, that's unacceptable. If your team isn't going to follow the waitlist or reservation system, then don't offer one. It only builds false expectations and ends in customer frustration. Clear communication would have gone a long way. I'm sharing this feedback because I truly appreciate the restaurant's food. But experiences like this make it harder to justify choosing your restaurant over others.

Yelp
Chinese New Year 2025, America may be going to hell in a hand basket in the month of January (wildfires, plane crashes, and what not) but all is well at Meizhou Dongpo -- great service and food. * Peking Duck - good but needs more wrappers. Why stick them to parchment paper? separating them is a royal pain. * Shrimp with scallion sauce - very light and refreshing * Dan Dan Noodle - ordered non-spicy, a perfect bowl! * Country-Style Pork - mildly spicy and very addictive with white rice! * Coconut Almond Mochi dessert - not too sweet, goes great with hot tea!

Yelp
My first time coming to this place. It's a bit packed at the time of my visit but we're seated right away. It's spacious, well-lit, and clean. Our server was very prompt, friendly, and efficient. We ordered: Chrysanthemum hot tea Dan Dan noodles 7.99 - appetizer. Cold.noodle with ground meat and some spices. Cucumber Salad 9.99 - somewhat similar to dtf cucumber salad Wok fried Bamboo shoot 9.99 - yum Sweet and Sour Fish 69.99 - this is a whole fish that are prepared and cut intricately. Fish was Crispy, soft and buttery texture Serrano Pepper Beef 27.99 - thinly sliced beef with Serrano pepper and soupy. I recommend to order this with medium spicy Some.of the meal are a bit on the high price but servings are big enough and can be shared between 4-6 ppl. I love the fried fish and Serrano pepper beef the most. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
For a place that specializes in duck, I expected a lot more "oomph." For the half duck, you get thin slices of 1 duck breast with not crispy skin, as well as one of the legs. It also seems like they've gotten hit by the recent economy and their supplier has been giving them tiny ducks. The wok fried beans are good, and the weekly deal of 1/2 off Kung pao chicken made up for the lack of duck meat. The sichuan chilies and peppercorns give off the signature heat and numbness. For birthdays, they give a small bowl of long noodles to symbolize a long life. Would not be coming back for the duck, but maybe for the other dishes that were actually decent.
google avatar

Michelle V.

Yelp
Classy, clean, and courteous staff. The food here is top notch. A friend I was dining with noted this is more Southern Chinese-styled dishes. The chili pepper notation is helpful to see on the menu. Despite them being know for spicy, we ordered our dishes mild and were not disappointed. Our favorite dishes were the sweet and sour fried fish and the Serrano pepper beef. The latter was like a sukiyaki beef dish. The former is like having sweet & sour pork but with fish. Super delish! The service was on point. Our chrysanthemum tea was filled often while we dined. We didn't have room for dessert or additional dishes. Payment was a breeze (they use Toast) and even handled a to-go order pretty seamlessly. We plan to come back again to enjoy their other signature dishes.

Yelp
Food came out fast but nothing sport the price The server was a little rude to my wife a Mandarin speaker who knows her Chinese food. Liked the family style dining room experience. Irvine has so many good Chinese food choices that I doubt we will go back here unless they up their game.
google avatar

Jack W.

Yelp
Huge portions and the food came out unbelievably quick. Can get a bit noisy in the main dining area but that's the only minor complaint, definitely coming back. Some of the best Chinese food in the Irvine atm.
google avatar

Shawn L.

Yelp
Came here with work friends and shared about 7 different dishes. Service was quick and efficient and the food was amazing. The layout and decor are nice as well. Standouts for me were the Peking duck, the spicy oil beef, the string beans and the orange chicken. Yum! We dug into it all so fast I didn't get pictures.

We came to try the duck, which we had to wait 40 mins for them to cook it. While we waited we ordered some dishes to try. Spicy Sichuan food with lots of flavor Recommend here for group gatherings. Family style dinners Service is friendly since all of them are walking around Very popular joint with families and gathering Beautiful decor and decently loud noise level with lots of people

Yelp
Have to be honest I was overall disappointed. For a place that is featured at the Olympics I was hoping for some really really good cooking. Decor was not as impressive upon walking in as photos made it look. Definitely showed signs of wear and tear. Food was fine but I can get better tasting and more authentic Chinese food at other small mom and pop places all over LA. The food here was way too overpriced for the cooking skill. It was like bistro na prices for half the skill. That's my main disappointment. Also they celebrate birthdays but not anniversaries - just a note. The best thing here is truly the duck. That I absolutely enjoyed. Everything else was again, okay, just didn't warrant the prices. $80 for one sweet and sour fish? $40 for two pieces of little abalone? OH and... scallops had gritty bits/ sand in it.... that's a huge sign of quality issue. Fam... again taste didn't justify price. I'll get my better tasting Chinese for half the price elsewhere.

Yelp
Incredible food! I love spicy food and they had all the bases covered!! So many different flavors in their dishes. We had chili oil beef, bang chicken, stir fried green beans, avacado dish, and chicken dumplings. All amazing. I would say the chili oil beef and bang chicken stole the show for us! Everything's great but these two were quite unique! Definitely be back

Yelp
Super good! Interior is nicely decorated, I really like the vibes. Service was very attentive which was a nice surprise. Food was flavorful and plentiful. The half roast duck was a good choice for 2 people. Plus it was served over a consistent fire(?) so that it would remain warm and crispy. Only thing I didn't like were the amount of ginger in the cold noodle sauce but that's just a personal preference thing. The sauce & noodles were good aside from that.

Yelp
Authentic northern Chinese food. Apparently the founder Mr. Zhang Wang and Mrs. Di Liang come from Meishan, Sichuan, which is the hometown of the famous poet Su Dongpo/Su Shi. They were the apprentices of Mr. Guoqing Gan, who was private chef to General Ye Jianying. Got the duck combo (comes with duck soup and the cumin fried duck bones). Absolutely great combo! Also got the bang bang chicken which was amazing! Couldn't finish all of it so we took it home, and it's the one dish we'd get take out all the time. Loved the decor, the walls are adorned with traditional Chinese calligraphy brushes and the lamps are so cool! They also have private rooms for VIPs or if you are holding an event. Parking: ample parking in the parking lot

Yelp
We love coming here for dinner. The roasted duck and crepes are our favorite. Our family recently went to China and had Peking duck from Beijing and this place is comparable or even better than the ones from there. Service is always impeccable. This last time with Tayt was amazing. He made the experience even better with his recommendations and attentive service.

Yelp
We made a reservation for about 25 people on a Saturday night and they were very accommodating and service was fast as well! This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant in Irvine! Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing, the jellyfish salad, duck, green beans, Brussels sprouts (this was my favorite veggie dish and my new favorite way to eat Brussel sprouts) and a bunch more beef dishes. All the food was so flavorful and there was a nice kick to some of the dishes. I loved that we had a little bit of everything as the dishes were quite large. The best part: for your birthday, they give you a small bowl of hot soup with noodles.

Yelp
Solid Chinese food, been here multiple times. Would recommend for occasions or when hosting family/friends. Service is very attentive.

Yelp
My first time at this restaurant. The duck was a great disappointment. Despite being $$$ the skin has tons of feather spikes! So gross to eat. The bamboo shoots another disappointment, so blend! This spicy chicken was ok however you have to "search" for the chicken and they use french fries as substitute. All the other dishes were ok, not a $$$ quality meal. The service however was great! The servers were friendly and attentive. As any Chinese restaurant, the place is noisy therefore don't expect a quiet dinner out. The ambiance- crowded and noisy!

Yelp
Excellent service and very classy establishment with delicious roasted duck among other dishes. Hiighly recommend the steam buns-although a dessert, if you skip the condensed milk dip, it goes well with the main courses. Recommend Sichuan dumplings for appetizers and when you order the appetizer get the roasted duck order in. Everything else comes out quickly! Staff is accommodating. Easy parking and easy to find off culver.
