Ordered a limited bottle to be delivered in Texas. Customer service was attentive and thorough, both over email and over the phone. Bottle came when promised with a beautiful engraving! Worth every penny.

Update: It’s that time of the year again…went back to what worked before and searched for options by Mel & Rose. Found a bottle of another preferred Tequila. Added their extremely reasonably priced options of engraving and glam (bedazzled). They did not disappoint! Super fast processing, shipping and just incredible!!! See updated picture for result (I blacked out name for privacy). I was NOT expecting the size even though it’s on the item description, because it was doubled boxed for extra protection the package measured about 30” in height. Bottle (175 liter) was also VERY impressive! Original: I was looking for a unique gift for a friend who has it all, found the cutest little bottles of his favorite tequila. Mel and Rose had the best price, shipped across the country and packaged / shipped promptly (arrived earlier than expected). Picture shows the product but it was super protected with bubble wrap all around.

I live in Ohio and needed a bottle of Dom pretty quickly. I called the store to make sure it was in stock and Camille was very nice. I had it overnighted with FedEx and it arrived the next day with no problems... all the way from L.A. All in all no problems with my delivery.

I am from Kansas City, KS. I ve been searching for a liquor store that sells Vodka NEFT for quite a long time now... lots of online retailers appear somewhat shady. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered from Mel and Rose. “Test order” - two bottles, for my brother’s birthday. Package arrived in great shape and 1 day early- which worked out perfectly! Shipping wasn’t exactly cheap, but i completely understood why once i saw the size of the box and quality of the packaging materials. I am one happy customer and i ll definitely will ve ordering more bottles in the future. Thank you for quick and easy transaction.

Love this place. Amazing spot to grab a quick, delicious lunch at the deli. You can even eat it on the patio-- which is serene!! Also-- a great spot for purchasing gifts. I often time will come in with an idea-- and they help me solve for the perfect gift. Highly recommend!

I sent the Viva Margarita gift baskets to several co-workers, including myself. Everyone loved their baskets. The baskets brought a lot of cheer to each recipient. The basket presentation was great and the basket was loaded with wonderful snacks and all things margarita. A very fun basket to send and receive! Florida resident here looking to send a custom wine basket to a friend in Pasadena. Discovered Mel & Rose from a google search and called the store for more information. My only requests were for a specific wine and an assortment of charcuterie. Anna did an amazing job suggesting items and having the basket assembled. I paid for it sight unseen, but was truly stunned by the end product (see attached photo). Great job Mel & Rose, and great job Anna. 10/10 would buy from this location again!

Literally one of THE best sandwiches I've ever had. Had no idea they even had food inside of this small bodega store as I work nearby and would just see that they have specialty groceries inside. It wasn't until I had a coworker tell me that they had food so I had to try. Food: I ordered the 97 which was their Italian sandwich. I've had a very authentic Italian sandwich experience in New York and haven't had the same since. This sandwich came very close. Meaty, thick, and very filling for the amount I'm paying. All of the flavors worked very well together. Came with potato salad. Had just the right amount of creaminess with no overbearing sourness. Even got a drink for $1 and some cents. Everything came out to about $14. Where else are you going to find that in LA? Service: Service was great. Older gentleman behind the deli counter was very friendly and helpful. Pointed out all of the special and popular sandwiches. Gave me options for my sides. Overall, I'm 100% coming back here whenever I need to grab a quick bite for my lunch break. I may even just come back here to take friends!

Today we had the opportunity to enjoy a tasty sandwich and latte. The sandwich was amazing. I ordered a custom sandwich. Ham and salame with cucumbers. Very refreshing perfect for this weather! Jaime treated us very well. He was friendly and kind. We will definitely be back for more!

They are expensive without good reason. Just save yourself the bad customer experience and go to BevMo down the road. These people have horrible attitudes. One bag of ice there is $4.75. It's $2.99 down the street at BevMo. I posted BevMo's better prices below. Chose a different store and save your money.

My wife was traveling to LA and I wanted to leave her something at her hotel. The Mel&Rose gift options have something for everyone, quality foods and wines in every price range. I called for some advice before placing the order, guidance was spot on. Follow-up and delivery were perfect! Thank you!!!

I wanted to order Stagg Jr (#1~#17) which costs around $300~$1000 + tax. I called and checked yesterday to confirm they have this and they said yes. I ordered via Ubereats ($280) and they sent Stagg (#18~current) which costs around $150~200 + tax. I called and said wrong item was sent but they only said those two are the same, and they keep saying we sent it from the same box, so it should be the same. Wow. just wow. Never order anything online here unless you are sure what you are doing.

Stopped by for sandwiches and since we are into wine, we checked out their inventory. The experience here was second to none. Jaime is the most gracious host with superb hospitality. Their collection of fine wines are from all over the world but if you are into CA wines, this is where you'll find your favorites. The sandwiches are really good here. You'll find the deli between all the bottles of liquor amongst a deli style counter. Their baguettes are crispy yet soft on the inside. My husband just said "fantastic!" This was a well hidden gem of an experience.

My husband and I are so happy we found this spot the other day. I was looking for a quick sandwich spot and this place seemed amazing. It's a great deli inside of an awesome high end liquor store that also sells some of my our favorite European candies and cookies. We got 2 sandwiches, a tuna salad, and broccoli soup. Everything was very tasty. Great prices and big portions! The menu was huge- we are so excited to continue going back and working our way through the menu! Unfortunately I was too hungry to get more than one quick photo

Their customer service is terrible. I placed a corporate order for holiday gifts to be delivered. The whole process was not smooth, response times to emails were after hours (and I'm not talking about a few hours - it seemed to be done by an overnight shift). Mistakes were made on the delivery addresses and when they were contacted to correct it, I was told they would try. I reached out to Fed Ex to make the corrections myself only to be told that I am not the shipper and only the shipper can do that. Luckily, all of the gifts but one were delivered. I sent a follow up email asking for a new one to be shipped out s o it will get to NY in time for the holiday and I was told that they have to wait for the original package to be returned and then they can. After spending a few thousand dollars , this is the service you get. I will be sure to never use this company again.

Stopped by here to pick up a bottle (or two) of wine because they were the only shop nearby to carry it. Navigating here wasn't easy and parking is even harder to find. Aside from that I had an overall pleasant experience. The guy assisting me was funny and super friendly and helped me find what I was looking for. It was my first time here and seeing the vast display of wine bottles was a bit overwhelming, not knowing where to begin to find what I was looking for. I thought pricing was average but customer service was excellent and if I am ever looking for a specific, hard to find bottle of wine I know where to go!

I'm only reviewing the food. Great sandwiches and big salads at really good prices. Plenty of snacks and beverage options. Seating in the garden is small, but it is quiet.

Amazing place! My favorite stop on my lunch break. Food is always delicious and has that home cooked feel to it. Sato is wonderful, always so helpful. Besides the food, they have so many cool international snacks and a great selection of wine! Prices are also very affordable!

Small liquor store in the heart of West Hollywood. I am assuming they have a great connection with liqour brands as they have a lot of pop ups and items that can only be found here. Of course it's pricey since it's not a chain like a bevmo or grocery store.

Absolutely will be returning for all my liqueur needs and whatever else this place provides. First time coming and i am truly blown away by Jaime's costumer service. I came by with my son to pick up a gift and he was so professional and attentive, made my son and I feel very comfortable. We will be supporting this place in our neighborhood as long as Jaime is there! Thank you so much! It's rare to find great service lately, and he goes above it! P.S he did my gift wrap for my purchase [a bottle] and it was just beautiful.

My wife and I walk our dogs in the neighborhood and moved here about 9 months ago from the valley. Thank God we got out of the valley. Anyway we walked by this place almost daily and decided to pop in for lunch. It's a great store when you walk in with a very wide variety of spirits and wine as well as a little bit of an Eataly posting a small selection of chocolates Italian dried goods etc. This review is only for the deli But just spot checking the price on the liquors and wine letting me to believe it's somewhat to very overpriced depending on what you're buying. Now for the review on the deli. We noticed they have a area in the back with two or three tables and decided to order sandwiches to eat there. Big pluses that they do allow dogs on the back patio which is always a big winner in my book. The price on the sandwiches seemed right and came with a side. I ordered the Roman with a side of potato salad. This was for about $12. I will start by saying the sandwich was made up of very fresh ingredients. The meats had good spice to them and the baguette which is almost always too hard was firm but didn't tear up the roof of my mouth. The big knock on the sandwich is that it was lacking flavor. I don't know if it may be needed more balsamic vinaigrette or some mayo or pesto. Not quite sure but for how good it looked it really ate bland. I picked off some of the meat and cheese to eat by itself and it definitely wasn't that. Very good quality meats and cheeses. I think with the right flavor pulling it all together, this coulld be a four-star sandwich. The potato salad was absolutely forgettable from the first bite. I added salt and pepper and that did nothing for it. It was actually below average. Again not in terms of quality of ingredients, but just in terms of flavor. In all fairness we did come here a couple of months ago while everyone was coming out of the pandemic. So it's definitely worth another shot especially at the price points on the menu. But I'm going to check out a few other sandwich joints before I come back to this one. Sandwich = 3 Potato salad = 1.5 Price = 4 Ambiance = 4 Last impression, the sandwich could be great if you doctor it up a little. The potato salad can't be helped and isn't worth the extra calories. But the price point and ambience are strong enough that this place definitely deserves a second chance.

Everyone I've dealt with here is absolutely professional kind courteous and great personality especially Eileen. I have received rave reviews for my gift baskets I ordered from as high as $2600 and as low as $100, no negative issues on shipping I read the negatives not true, also they have a new website

Lackluster service, inflated prices. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on collectible and ready-to-drink wine in the past year and hoped to add this spot to my list of regular retailers, but when I get the cold shoulder from the get go, doesn't really inspire me to build a relationship with you. Dommage. Decent selection of liquor, the wine room houses bottles $30+ with an okay selection if you're on your way to a party and need to pick up a bottle to drink or gift (and are okay spending a bit more than you would at K&L or Wine House).

I received a gift basket from Mel & Rose as a holiday present and was blown away by how wonderfully curated it was. The only problem, truly, has been trying to decide what to enjoy right away and what to try to save to savor later. Some highlights thus far have been the green apple licorice (I didn't know this even existed, and it's phenomenal), the earl gray tea chocolate (!!), and the dried pears. Great to know this place exists for when I need to gift and to nudge my bosses about if they're ever assembling a gift.

Most Pretentious Review for 2019 (thus far): Ridiculous as it sounds, I desired a certain type of bottled water in a glass bottle as opposed to plastic. After visiting the brands site, Mel & Rose came up as the sole carrier closest to me, in the size I was searching for. After reading through some of their reviews, I didn't want to be that douche simply buying a bottle of agua, so I happily noticed that they carry a selection of foreign/international candy. As per some of the reviews here, I certainly took note that some of the stuff is clearly expired, some as of April (it's fall now) but I successfully found a fresh bar worth trying that didn't expire until 2020. Two men at the register; the older gentleman was helping out a woman (I couldn't tell if he had rings on or not but I looked) but the guy that I had was super cool. Total was $3+change, and they accept plastic on purchases on $5+ which is common in some places, so I was prepared with my cash. Cadbury is not something I enjoy stateside, but this version was pretty much perfect. This was the basic Dairy Milk variety, no frills or extras, and it hit the spot. I ate this on the way to the gym where I burned it off on a treadmill. I will most likely repeat this pretentious day once again in the near future!

Beautiful gift baskets, reasonably priced, inexpensive local delivery fees. Friendly competent staff should you need assistance. Delivery made on schedule as promised. Ordering a gift basket from here simply makes you look good!

I absolutely adore this shop! Think like NY bodega meets Los Angeles but more high end. The family who owns it is so kind every time I walk in, they out a smile on my face. They have some great selections and it's perfect to stop by if you need a last minute gift or if you want a quick lunch! I will 100% be back!

I am very late with this. I made a promise to the owner--I am assuming the young man behind the counter who helped me and made me promise to write a Yelp review is the owner--that I would write a review for him and ugh! It has taken me four months! I also feel bad that I never got his name... :( I am from San Diego. And I have been combing liquor stores in SD for a very specific brand of sake that I enjoy. This is my favorite brand. Sadly, SD had nothing. I tried Orange County. Nothing. Then when I googled Los Angeles Mel & Rose was one of two stores that sold this brand. Now let me say that I was not about to go to the store in Downtown LA. Oh hell no. Please. Parking sucks there and it can be dangers. We all know that! So, I made the trek all the way to West Hollywood. Now let me say that the young man who helped me (behind the counter) was handsome and helpful (get your minds out of the gutter). He looked up the brand I was looking for--Amabuki--and lickity split he found it. Knew exactly where to go. I was in his store for less than 10 minutes (than includes him making me promise to do a Yelp review). I was truly shocked though at the number of online orders he and his employees were filling. I mean his store is really popular and you would never assume (from the outside) what a variety of drinks he carries. I was truly impressed. Store clean. It is organized in a way that he and his employees can be efficient. HINT: If you are looking for a specific brand, go to the website to see if they carry it. If they do, go to the store, BUT do not try to look for it yourself. Just ask the handsome guy behind the counter. Believe me, it will be faster if you do it this way. So the most important question is: Would I return to the store? The answer is 250% yes! One, he has what I want (get your minds out of the gutter people! I'm talking about sake!). And a good looking man is an added plus. In fact, I'm headed to his place this weekend.

I got the chicken salad on baguette and it was magical! The perfect blend of chicken and seasoning on a beautiful baguette was more than what I expected. I was a little late to pick up and it was still perfect. The bag of chips was a little to big as I was expecting a small bag but not a complaint just review. Definitely a must visit if your in the area and looking for something lite and flavorful

Good selection of wine and champagne, but you can get ripped off here occasionally. Check the price before, some wines are 30% more expensive than other stores

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Went into the store in person on Dec. 19 around 2:00 p.m. to get a gift certificate for my boss. (The website looked great).The cashier was friendly but told me I'd have to come back "later." I didn't push it because how long could it take? He said they make it look real purdy and that they would call. The next night around 7:00 I called and stated that I hadn't gotten a call yet. I thought maybe they called a wrong #, because again, how long could it take? Were they cutting the trees themselves for the paper? The woman on the phone sounded annoyed and said, "They didn't call you because it isn't ready." Okaaay. She said it should be ready by the next afternoon. I NEVER got a call, my boss didn't get the gift cert before Christmas and when I finally got it today, two days after Christmas, the staff member was pretty obnoxious. No welcome, no pleasantries at all, no thanks for your business... After reading other reviews, I'm glad I didn't go with my first choice and order the wine club for my boss. I realize that they cater to larger entities and that's reasonable. The little guy is not important. They could at least have the common courtesy of letting the little guy know that! Lesson learned. Oh--and the gift certificate was not wrapped in gold with unicorn horn ink. Just a regular printed gift certificate. "The Mel and Rose Gift Card, presented in a beautiful Envelope with our current catalog and your personal message." Nope!

I ordered over three weeks ago. I called two weeks ago to notify them that I never had any information that my order had shipped. I was told that the order would ship in a day or two and be patient and that the item was in stock. I called yesterday to ask where my order was that I ordered three weeks ago and was informed that the order was canceled two weeks ago because the item was out of stock and that an email was sent to me 2 weeks ago informing me of that. I told the person on the phone that I never received the email and she said you must be mistaken. Today I received email telling me that they are out of stock. These guys are clueless and have no communication whatsoever with each other or their customers. Simply put- they suck!

Ordered a custom bottle online - no problems. I didn't receive a FedEx email when it was shipped so I emailed the info email from the store website. I did not get a reply but 2 days later I received a text from fedex that the package was en route. Bottle arrived in the time frame (5-8 business days) as noted on the site, well packaged and what I selected. Good to go.

Just had the BEST experience with Jaime, who helped me find a great bottle of tequila in my price range, wrapped it up to look like a gorgeous gift bag, and let me know that they serve food and coffee as well! I'm new to the neighborhood, and I will definitely be stopping in to try the sandwiches and coffee. Jaime is an absolute gem and I will absolutely be back!

Placed an order online for shipping and it was a very good experience! Excellent communication throughout the process. Items were shipped very well packaged for the 2000+ mile trip across the US... I will definitely order from them again - and plan to visit in person next time I am in Los Angeles!

Received a note from the business saying the packing peanuts in the gift basket are compostable. I wish I had known this bc I definitely would have composted them! I'm giving them 5 stars now but definitely recommend that customers are informed of this so these peanuts don't end up in the landfill.

Best inventory of liquor in Southern California and Great customer service and ask for Danny my main man all staff is great though.

These guys have a huge inventory of fancy gourmet type stuff from chocolate, candy, biscuits, cookies, tea, fine wine and liquor. And their price on Petrossian caviar is significantly better than the Petrossian restaurant and store on Robertson. Their deli is great too I love the Lorenzo sandwich

Mel & Rose has a website almost as bad as the attitude of their employees. The inventory on the site is never accurate and the employees are rude both on the phone and in person. FYI the same day delivery is on whatever day they decide to get around to checking to see if they have the item in stock. They give themselves up to 24 hours to do so.

This is SUCH a great shop and selection-! Jaime is the nicest, most helpful associate ever and went out of his way to help me get my special Amass vodka (it's amazing, and SO good for cocktails- pls keep stocking it-!) I look forward to returning soon- thanks SO much Jaime for the help!!

I needed a quick gift for my daughter's 21st birthday. No other company was willing to make it and ship it out as fast as Mel and Rose. The employee named Matt was extremely helpful. I got my gift perfectly in time for her birthday and the 1942 bottle was absolutely beautiful.

Fraud, and they are proud of it too. Highland Park 30 priced on tag at $1,129.00. Then when you want it they claim their price changed and in the computer it is way north of $1400.00. So why shop there when you can't rely on the price tags? Crazy thing is that they really didn't sell it to me. When you have a new customer who buys scotch bottles above 1k, is that really a client worth losing? So silly.

Over-priced, price gouging. If you are looking for something rare, hard to find, maybe Take your business to KnL, hell TJ's, even driving to Total Wine in Valley is better or BevM9 around the corner is better. $20 mark up on non-barrel select

Their website says they will process a shipment the day after it is placed. This is false as it's taking them 5 days to process my order and it won't even go out until tomorrow so plan on a week plus the transit time. given the circumstances were all under these days it's important that websites have accurate information.

Ordered the best Christmas gift basket for my boss. She was super impressed and she's a tough crowd. I found a lot of great rare finds in the actual shop as well! Check it out if you're in weho and need some vino!

I called promptly at 7:40 PM on a Saturday evening to inquire if they were still open. Whoever was answering the phones that day was very unpleasant. Anyways, I decided to ask them if they were still open they answered, yes. Then I proceeded to ask them if I could place an order for takeout. The man on the phone rudely responded with "no". Why even tell me you're open? Terrible customer service.

Mel & Rose has it ALL! This family-owned business is run by some of the nicest people in town who always go above and beyond. I love their wine and spirits selection and even stopped in for a hearty sandwich once. I'll always hit up Mel & Rose for my celebration alcohol and gifts!! Thanks team!!

So I ordered a 12 pack of the blue water bottles that are on the TV show Frasier called "tynant" and they arrived very quickly individually bubble wrapped and we're all in tact none of them are broken beautifully wrapped and packaged and delivered to my front door in a timely fashion. I love em!! So cool Oh and they are DELICIOUS!!! So good and refreshing

I placed an almost $400 order for a Dom Perignon gift basket to be delivered to our dear friends who had to cancel their wedding. The order arrived without the silver ice bucket as shown on the website. The customer service rep was quick to inform me that the bucket may "vary". I've never known "vary" to mean, missing entirely. One of champagne flutes arrived broken in half even thought it was wrapped tightly in packing material, which most likely was an issue in transit and out of Mel & Rose's control. I was pleased that they offered to replace the flutes at no additional charge but was disappointed to learn they were not willing to budge on the ice bucket. For such a high price tag, I was hoping for better service and willingness to make it right. I won't be eager to use their services again.

I was helped for a very last minute congratulations order while at the airport. very helpful staff, specifically estefania!!!
