Mellow Mushroom Decatur

Update Feb, 2025 : They continue to offer excellent pizzas. Picked up some assorted pizzas, including some vegetarian ones, and they were just perfect. Consistently delivering high-quality pizzas July 2023 : My review is based on the home delivery of pizzas ordered on my granddaughter's birthday party, by my daughter, during our recent visit to Atlanta. I must say, they were delicious.... all categories... non veg, veg, vegan, and gluten-free. A special appreciation of their gesture of delivering an extra pizza, as one of the pizzas had got slightly deshaped while cooking. I must add that delivery was in time.

New burgers are horrible and need to be removed from the menu. It says they’re served “smashed burger style”.. As you can see, it’s most certainly not smashed at all. It’s a dry puck of meat. Also, the bun was clearly frozen because even after lightly grilling it was still cold. Tater tots were wretched and also tasted like they were frozen and then barely baked to defrost. I tried one and spit it out. The bruschetta was a soggy mess. Stick to their pizza (which I love) and avoid everything else.

The entire staff was very friendly. Our server Jenny was knowledgeable and very helpful with suggestions. The food was hot, fresh and full of flavor. We didn’t have to wait long. The appetizers came out before the meal, as it should. Thai Dye pizza (not pictured) was recommended but not on the menu. It was delicious! Pictured is The great white / vegetable Pizza and the Cloud 9 wings (Parmesan garlic). I will definitely be back to this location.

Mellow Mushroom was my favorite pizza place for 20+ years, but my recent experiences with them suggest that the chain is in decline. At the Vinings location, my pizza was served with slimy "grilled" chicken that reminded me of summer camp food. A friend and I visited the Decatur location around 7pm on Saturday night and business was unexpectedly dead--it was a little eerie. I soon came to understand why so few people were there. I ordered a small cheeseless pizza with spinach, mushrooms, and ground beef. My friend ordered a small house special. About 20 minutes after we ordered, the server brought out my pizza and informed us that the kitchen staff hadn't yet started on my friend's pizza (the server was not sure why and was apologetic). My pizza had about 1/2 the toppings that it would normally have, all squished together in the center of the pie. I asked if they could add some more sauce and the server took it back to the kitchen. When the pizza came back, it had about 3 additional small squirts of sauce, still leaving generous space between where the toppings ended and the crust began (see picture). I asked the server why they didn't fill in the empty space, she said she'd watched them squirt it on and asked them to add more. She didn't know why they were being so stingy with it but she brought me a ramekin of sauce to make up for it. Thankfully, my friend's pizza appeared normal save some very wet tomatoes. Also, our salads were great, albeit too large for the tiny bowls they were served in (the server said they didn't have any larger bowls). After both meals (slimy chicken and sparse toppings), I filled out MM's feedback form, letting them know of the disappointing experiences. Both times I received this exact email: "Hi Thank you for taking the time to complete our survey. Based on your valuable feedback, we're genuinely sorry that your recent experience with Mellow Mushroom didn't meet your expectations. We take all feedback seriously and strive to provide the best service, highest food & beverage quality, and an inviting atmosphere for our guests. Your comments help us improve and ensure that we deliver a truly Mellow experience every time. We appreciate your patience and aim to make things right. Thank You & Stay Mellow, The Mellow Mushroom Team" The vagueness indicates to me that no one actually looked at my feedback. In the past, MM offered a $5 off coupon for feedback, but now it's just this sorry boilerplate message. I'm sad to see MM going down the drain like so many other businesses that are focused on cutting corners to line the pockets of those on top. I thought they were one of the good ones. 😩

There is a parking lot behind the building but there are limited spaces for the size of the restaurant. There were plenty of tables open but we had about a ten minute wait for our group of five. The ambiance is fun and colorful. The service was slow, we had to ask for our check after sitting done for a few minutes, also had to ask twice for a togo box.

7-20-19 - Wanted some pizza, and looked at several places, but decided on Mellow Mushroom. We wanted to try a different location, so this one was it. Parking could be tricky on a busy day. We were seated right away. Most people sat outside, we indeed up inside. We were seated right away. Ordered beverages, regular Enlightening Salad, and two large Mighty Meaty pizzas. Service was good. The first pizza didn't have the toppings piled on high like we were use to, but the second one made up for it. Nice ambience and the waiter kept the drinks and good service coming. Nice location, and we would be back.

Amazing pizza. The mocktails were super fairly priced and were incredible! I’m talking like $3. That’s how you do the fun na mixed drinks. Brandi was the best part though! Amazing service with a smile! 110%

There are so many menu items to choose from. it's been awhile since i've been there, so i must make a return visit!! i visited the Mellow Mushroom in downtown Decatur, and they do have outdoor seating, so i will go and do some people watching on my next visit!!

Will definitely miss their presence in the downtown Decatur neighborhood. Pizza was good, service was decent, and drinks were strong.

Lively, mellow mushroom atmosphere which I enjoy. Was in the house! I was greeted warmly and was served nicely at the bar. Unfortunately, what I ordered was not hot. I had the meatballs which comes with cheese sauce and basil flakes. It looks great but it's wasn't hot. I complained about it, but I was hungry and I was really supposed to have dinner at some Iberian pig place but couldn't find parking. Per you "make another plate" so I just ate that. I probably won't order it again unless I know it's hot.

First time eating at this location. I won't be back. They allow animals, so if you plan to eat outside keep that in mind. We did not enjoy our outside experience because of that. The pizza was OK. too greasy for my taste. The inside is like a bar type vibe, but with just pizza. Customer service was OK. They didn't greet us when we waked inside, but we didn't get seated right away and it wasn't busy at all. Well for take out they were, not for in restaurant service though. Anywho, I've had better pizza. 3.5/5 overall.

Loved the ambiance, my pizza was burnt but overall, we enjoyed the experience. Better than usual chain pizza places for sure.

I ordered a pizza via Uber Eats and it arrive burnt, and charred. There's obviously no one checking on the quality of the food before it leaves the restaurant.

The cheesy bread here is not as good as the other MM's. Low on cheese. They should've called it "kinda cheesy bread".

No thin crust options for pizza. No meatballs available as stated on the menu. Pizza was Sub-par. Very dissatisfied & disappointed. Will Not Patronize Again.

Great location for this fantastic pizza house chain. The ambience is great and service is quick. They have a parking lot for easy parking. Holy shiitake is my fav mellow mushroom pizza hands down!

The food was delicious. Now it did take too long for our apps to arrive....literally 20-30 wait. Not happy about that, we actually thought they forgot about us. But we order pretzel bites & spinach dip. And they were good. Then our pizzas arrived 15 mins later. The math wasn't matching on the time it took for our overall orders. Service: Jacob was AWESOME. He apologized for the wait and was on it for all our needs. Overall surroundings were amazing. We sat outside on this bright, sunny, Georgia humid day and we loved it.

What's better than pizza on a Friday night? A business a partner and I dined at this location one Friday night and I must say it was a great experience. It was pretty jumping with families, teenagers and couples. Our waitress was awesome! She was very attentive, kind and made wonderful recommendations. Because of her, I tried the lavender mocktail which I LOVED and the mushroom soup which was pretty darn tasty as well. I also had a pepperoni pizza and brownie for dessert. The service was a tad slow, but our waitress was great at keeping us updated. And once we were done, the manager came and checked on us to see how our dining experience was. They had some vegan options on the menu that I must go back to try! I haven't been to Mellow Mushroom in a while and I sure am glad I dined there on that Friday night!

Just went here again today, and the fire alarm went off causing multiple fire trucks ETC to come over and check it out, turns out nothing was wrong but it was really loud and scary and they made us go onto the porch. They were very apologetic about it even though it wasn't our servers fault, and they even gave us discounts! I just can't give it 5 stars because the incident was technically their fault. (Nobody was even remotely hurt), (Food was good too!)

This was our 2nd attempt to come here at this particular location. The 1st time was busy and they advised they aren't seating ppl. Okay cool. This time its a 30 minute wait. I looked around and saw empty booths but okay. Im hungry so we decide to wait. Our server was a nice young lady & very helpful. I mentioned it was my 1st time here so I wasn't sure what to try. I decided on a hoagie because when I saw it I immediately thought of some good hoagies from Philly. He ordered a house special meaty pizza (gluten free) and wings. I tried a slice and it was good. It was so much on it I barely noticed the mushrooms i don't like. My hoagie wasn't what I expected. It was good but not what I was looking for. I had a strawberry drink which i don't recall the name of it. The strawberries they topped it off with were good n fresh. I wish i had more of them. The drink i cant really comment on because it came with a paper straw. Paper straws ruins everything. Overall I didn't get the hype of this franchise and more than likely wont return.

Sadly the quality of the food and service has gone down fast here. The wait staff rotate out too quickly now. I've probably eaten here over a hundred times over the years. I don't even enjoy myself because of the lack of professionalism. I'm guessing because It's under new ownership / management. Hopefully they get their act together.

Just had the best ever Pizza Place experience with my son at The Mellow Mushroom in Decatur. The service was AMAZING and the Holy Shiitake pizza and meatball sub were FANTASTIC. One of the best lunch experiences that I have ever had anywhere!! Love it, too, when Art Linton plays on the patio!! Great job!!!

Much like my mom regards my brothers and I, I love all Mellow Mushrooms equally. However, not all of them can be star children. The Decatur Mellow is one such "average child." They don't seem to get much dine-in traffic, the Decatur High School service staff is pleasant but not super efficient, decor is only a tad eccentric, and the pizza came out in about 35 minutes despite us being the only ones in the restaurant. Regardless, Mellow Mushroom is still my favorite chain pizza place in Atlanta, and our BBQ Chicken pizza was fluffy and tasty as always. The location is also neat, and we love it for it's walkability from our home.

Worst mellow experience ever tonight at this location. Pretzels were burnt. Took forever to get salads. Some pizzas came out right after salads. One pizza literally didn't come, taking so long that we requested it to just be boxed up to go. Nobody ever got a refill. We were there for 1h 15min and we arrived early enough that none of this should have been a concern. Our server had lots of things to say, lots of excuses, but actionable recovery was absent.

I typically love all the other mellow mushrooms, but this downtown Decatur location I tried four separate occasions to give them the last chance and it's pretty much exactly like everyone on here is commenting that the food comes out so late I couldn't get a beer even after asking four times my food was ice cold by the time it got there I had got my beer and wings and eaten them before my wife got her personal pizza 27 minutes later I called it last year and said this place won't be open much longer and low and behold they've proved me right. They will not be missed in downtown Decatur the management was terrible. The service was terrible. There's no reason you should sit and watch a bartender wash glasses and talk to people when you've been waiting 15 minutes for a beer, the server is excuse was that their ticket machine takes a long time to print out at the bar and where she enters it in the machine is actually at the bar looking at the bartender Unfortunately you reap what you sow.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mellow Mushroom, and I must say it was quite the delightful experience. As soon as I walked in, the ambiance struck me as genuinely mellow, just as the name suggests. The cozy, laid-back atmosphere made it an excellent choice for a relaxing meal. One of the perks was the ample parking space located conveniently behind the building, which eliminated the hassle of finding a parking spot. The restaurant was spacious, making it perfect for various occasions - group outings, romantic dates, or even solo dining adventures. The seating arrangement was comfortable and accommodating to different party sizes. To kick off our meal, we decided to try the Spinach Artichoke Dip, priced at $9.49. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. The dip was creamy, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the small pieces of garlic bread served alongside. It was a generous portion, making it perfect for sharing and setting the tone for a satisfying meal. For our main course, we couldn't resist ordering a Large Mighty Meaty pizza for $29.99. This carnivorous masterpiece was a meat lover's dream. It featured a tantalizing mix of pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, honey ham, and applewood-smoked bacon, all generously layered on top of Mellow red sauce and mozzarella cheese. I opted to not get honey ham but everything else came on the pizza. As the pizza arrived at our table, it was piping hot and looked incredibly appetizing. Each bite of the Mighty Meaty pizza was a symphony of flavors. The combination of the savory meats and the gooey cheese atop a perfectly cooked crust was simply divine. It was a carnivore's paradise, and the balance of flavors was impeccable. To quench our thirst, we opted for lemonade at $2.29, which was refreshingly tangy and complemented the richness of the pizza perfectly. We also ordered a few small containers of their signature red sauce for $1.50, which added an extra layer of flavor to our meal. In conclusion, my dining experience at Mellow Mushroom was exceptional, and I would gladly return. The ambiance, accommodating space, delectable Spinach Artichoke Dip, and the heavenly Mighty Meaty pizza were all highlights of the visit. Moreover, the friendly and attentive service added to the overall enjoyment. Mellow Mushroom truly lives up to its name, offering a mellow and memorable dining experience

Generally speaking I do my best to rate a restaurant holistically, hence the four stars. Here's my breakdown. Ambiance: 5/5 - The Decatur Mellow Mushroom (and most Mellows, for that matter) has always offered a really great environment. The patio is fun and closed in, the interior is colorful and cutely decorated (with a tasteful view of the kitchen). Pizza: 5/5 - We got the BBQ chicken pizza and it was high quality. Mellow's crust is consistently the best, and this time didn't disappoint. You can tell the chicken and ingredients are high quality as well, so big 5 stars on that. Wait time: 3/5 - I get it, Mellow Mushroom is infamous for their long waits. We know. But when there are literally only three other tables in the restaurant a pizza should not take over 35 minutes to come out. I'm not sure what happened there, but it is a bit irritating. Service: 3/5 - Our server was just... a server. We were his only table, but he treated us like he had four other tables and somewhere to be in an hour. Everything was on time and he did the physical parts of his job well, but like... c'mon. A smile or at least some sort of engagement would have been nice. I'm a former server, and if I was that blah with a table I would have been fired. Anyways, that's that on that. Overall it's a decent establishment, but could improve in the managerial category I think.

The food was delicious. The Holly Shitake Pizza was so flavorful. With layers of mushrooms, cheese, garlic, onions and topped with aioli.

Food was so good that we forgot to take pictures!!!! Cobb Salad is everything! And a build a pizza was fun. It was Delicious!!! Decatur location is everything!

They knocked it out of the park with their gluten free pizzas! We get takeout from here often and have dined on the patio a couple of times. The gluten free crust is very crispy and delicious! The Enlightened Spinach Salad has a tasty mix of flavor as well with dried cherries, apples, house-made candied pecans and feta cheese. I love finding food that's healthy AND satisfying! My bf is not gluten free, and he loves the pretzel bites. The atmosphere inside the restaurant and on the patio is welcoming, relaxed, and laid back, with artsy decor, fun music playing from the speakers, and sports on TV. The service is stellar. There's truly something for everyone here!

I ordered a gluten-free veggie calzone from them. When it was delivered via UberEats it appeared to be raw. I took a slight tug on the dough on to find that most of the dough was indeed RAW. I am not sure who is doing quality control however this was completely unacceptable. You will see from the pictures it is clearly under cooked. This is in stark contrast to my previous order just days prior. The brand is not what it use to be. Seems like the food is better when you get it there yourself and eat in verse using a meal delivery service. Either way raw is a health hazard.

We popped in last night for a quick dinner. The entrance is kinda strange, and parking is in the back but somewhat limited. From the front door... we sat in the last left booth. The restaurant was kinda cool with decorations and an open kitchen for viewing. For dinner we ordered the chicken pizza, veg out pizza with a ceasar and Greek salad. The food was ok but the knats were apparently hungry too. I ordered a glass of the Sauvignon blanc and we were swarmed! They came from under the table, over the table, between the seats and landed in my wine and on our salads. Absolutely disgusting. Service was excellent but guys,,, you NEED to handle the knat problem immediately. I will not return

Sadly, the online orders are never ever ready, no matter how far in advance I order. This location seems to be the worst. It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME and I always forget then order again because they do have vegan pizza that my family likes. We ordered pizza with fresh tomato as a topping and got 4 tiny slices ...

Mellow Mushroom has been around since I was a kid and I've had it many times over the years, but it had been a couple since the last time. A few days ago, hubs and I had a taste for wings but didn't want anything fried. I don't think I'd ever tried their wings before but hubs had, so he suggested picking some up from here. I'm glad we did! All of Mellow's wings are baked, which is a major plus when you don't have time to bake some yourself. Plus, they're double-baked, which makes them a little more crisp. I ordered the Cloud 9, which is 9 wings in garlic Parmesan sauce with "just a hint of heat" and garnished with grated aged Parmesan and chives. I'm not sure, but I think these may be a seasonal option. Husband ordered a 10-piece of jerk wings. We also had a small/10" cheese pizza. We had to place our order over the phone because we also had an ad for a discount that couldn't be used online, and that process was pretty rough. We actually tried calling three times the day before and no one ever answered the phone. We thought maybe they were just understaffed so that's why we tried a few times. We were even going to go ahead and order online and not worry about the ad, but even at 5 p.m. we were only given the option to place an order for the next day. When we called again the next day, the woman who answered the phone was going back and forth between taking my order and checking out a customer who was picking up. So, I literally had to repeat my order four times. She asked for it twice then finally put the phone down to finish up with the guy who was in the restaurant, then I had to repeat it two more times after that. She seemed new and like she was trying to juggle quite a bit at once on her own, so it was fine. But that whole process is the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. Our order was correct when we received it and we both really enjoyed our food.

Poor service. 30 mins and no drinks yet. AC must be broken because we are sweating in here. Had to go find a server to take orders after sitting for 15 mins. That should be enough....

Pizza- Delicious Service- the guy that took my phone order asked that I come in 30 mins to pick up the personal pizza. I get there...the pizza wasn't ready, not even made. I saw him redo the ticket, no apology, not even an offer of a complimentary drink, anything. It was 3pm and he wanted me to believe that there was a recent rush. Welp....that's not what the other server said when she came to address me when I returned after another 15-20 mins to pick up the pizza. She said that it was busy around 12pm, but they were good after 2pm. We've gone back since then. I refused to go in and had someone else grab the take out. I'm sure that this is a great location with good people. Willing to dine in to get a different perspective.

we waited for 45 minutes for a salad and a sandwich (no special requests, ordered as is off of the menu) while the cooks walked around behind the counter with AirPods in and wearing backpacks like it was just a walk about town. I finally was able to flag down the server and asked her if the order had been put in and she ruahed back to check but they all still just kinda walked around. the server made some kind of half comment, the gist being 'these people', insinuating that that's just how it is at this restaurant. after a third check in she came back and said that the 'spinach was bad' so they had to get some more out of a new box. but as I said, none of them were actually doing anything. I wonder if management would consider plucking the earphones out of the ears of the food preparers and maybe put them in a mindset of actually being at a job, if I hear of this happening, I'd consider going back but as it stands, I don't have the time and patience to sit in a fast food place for over an hour just to eat a salad. it's way too annoying in there.

During these Covid times, we were hesitant to dine out but they had outside patio dining so we ate here for a late lunch on Friday afternoon. Sweet tea and Sprite to drink, they use paper straws. We order the 10ct sweet thai chili wings which were very good. They good have been a lil bit more crispy but overall very good. We got a medium half and half. Pepperoni for my son and like Supreme for me...6 slices total which are nice size slices. The pizza comes out piping hot and was very, very good Fresh ingredients and a pizza made with love. It felt good to get out with all going on right now Fin dining experience and our server was 10/10. Around enough to get what we needed but not hovering around all the time.

I've been to a Mellow Mushroom in Virginia and was really excited to see there was one near where I was staying. Walking up, it's two levels with a great outdoor look and vibe. I saddle up to the bar and there are a couple of people eating and I find an empty seat. Almost 5 minutes go by before a bartender shows up. I place my order immediately because I started checking the menu online to kill time. I ordered a beer, a whiskey and a pizza; I got my beer and the bartender walks back to the kitchen area and just stands there. As I'm waiting for my food I notice members of the staff going behind the bar and pouring beers. They don't seem to be for customers and rather for themselves. Some are drinking from glasses, others are being discreet and drinking from soda cups. Regardless, people are now coming in from home and just going behind the bar and getting beer. Once my food arrives, a women who was eating dinner with her husband and kid goes behind the bar to get a beer and asks if I need anything. At one point, I guess it was an employee brings three drink tickets over and the bartender tells them he can only have "one drink an hour" and to pick one. In all I counted 6 people at the bar not paying for drinks. As for the food, my plate had specks of dirt on it and the pizza was very greasy. Seemed pretty unfair to pay full price for pizza and drinks when other people got to sit there and partake for free. Seems like a local drinking club for employees. Must be fun for the kitchen staff to sit there and watch that all night while they work.

I will not go back to this establishment again. They rushed my pizza and it made me ill. I waited 45 mins and my pizza was not ready, so they rushed my pizza because I was annoyed. When my pizza was given to me I went home which is less the 5 mins away. Pizza was horrible, it was doughy, runny sauce, and the cheese was not baked. I will never go here again. I feel this was purposely done because I got annoyed with the wait time. I'm done with this place!!

I was really excited about this place and was looking forward to having a meal there, especially given their gluten-free options. However, there seems to be poor communication between the servers. When we arrived, the only spot that was available was the bar and it was suggested we sit there, despite mentioning we did not have our IDs on us. After waiting for 15 minutes, we were told we could not be served food there. When we asked for clarification on why we couldn't be served (after indications from the front of the house that we could), we were told to "look up the legal regulations of Georgia" as they were not sure (and did not want to ask the bartender). After our conversations with the front of the house, we were placed at the end of the waitlist. We ended up waiting 25 minutes to be seated and then another 45 MINUTES to get our food. The food was decent, but expect to wait at least an hour before being served at this location.

My friend had recommended this place as one of the must have pizza places in Atlanta. So while figuring out what to eat and checking out a closer, walking distance pizza place, I looked up this place to see that Door Dash delivered. It was maybe 2 miles away from our Air BnB but decided to try it. Ordered the Great White pizza, with half without tomatoes, since my husband hates them. Also got a spinach salad. Order came maybe 45 minutes later. The driver was really nice as our Air BnB is not exact on the map, but with a little guidance, we were able to get our food. Pizza was pretty tasty and the salad - although had a lot of cheese was also good. Overall a cool pizza joint in Atlanta!

I attached my last correspondence with the owner and Mellow Mushroom. Another major issue and another awful experience. I've lost confidence the owner is capable of running a business that properly cares for paying customers. Ordered pizza through Uber tonight. My order sat there completed because the Uber driver wanted to deliver 2 other orders in front of me. As I saw this unfolding I called the restaurant and requested new delivery with fresh pizza. Was told no they let Uber do what they want. I told them most of that money was not going to Uber it was going to Mellow Mushroom and I'm not interested in paying that amount of money for cold food. Asked for owner to call me. If it's ok for me to eat $50 worth of cold pizza at 9:30 it's perfectly ok for Tom to call me from whoever he's at and explain why I can't get fresh pizzas delivered. Once again everything was blamed on Uber and I was told to "call corporate". Sure Uber owns part of the accountability for having complete lack of regard for quality of food delivered. I'm complaining to them as well. But Uber isn't selling me a product - Mellow Mushroom is. I couldn't be more disappointed in the response of the restaurant. My pizza showed up cold. Box was cold. Pizza was cold. And all Mellow Mushroom did was blame Uber and tell me to call corporate. They have zero care for people and I should have known better after my last experience. This will definitely be my last and maybe "corporate" needs to have conversation with Tom about the culture he's creating and the way he's representing the brand. Toxic!!!

Sighhhh - this is literally how I always feel when I order from here, thinking that maybe the next time will be better. I've only ever ordered online but each time there seems to be some kind of problem: one time their online order system was down, one time they were running behind even though it wasn't busy and I felt that I gave them plenty of lead time, and most recently they couldn't find my online order. They were confused as I showed them my order confirmation, and just as they were about to re-submit my order, the kitchen hollers that they have the order ready. From my experiences here, I feel that their online system is unreliable and their internal communication could use some work. As someone that typically orders for an office, the repeated unreliability is very frustrating. The food is great and they have options for everyone's dietary preferences in my office but otherwise I'd find it hard to convince myself to come back because it's always such a headache to deal with.

I came with my boyfriend and his parents for trivia night on Tuesday. They were understaffed and thus only had the patio and takeout open. It ended up being fine as we got a patio table after a wait, but the service was inconsistent. The employee that seated us was a little rude after my boyfriend's mom asked about a waitlist, and she slammed our menus and silverware down. I am sure it was a stressful work situation being understaffed but it left a bad taste in our mouths. Our actual waitress was very kind and competent. The food was pretty good, although pricier than I think it was worth. My favorite part was the enlightened spinach salad. Buffalo chicken pizza was a close second. Trivia was fun but imagine service and pizza experience may be better on a different night.

I went here recently and loved it! I was seated fairly quickly (although it was busy, I was pleased they had open spots) and was served right away. As a vegetarian, I had gotten the spinach artichoke dip, the Greek salad, and their Holy Shiitake pizza! It was quite the meal and definitely had lots leftover! The spinach artichoke dip is definitely a favorite - just creamy enough and the garlic bread was just right! The lil' Greek salad was quite a large portion (definitely splittable between two) and was very fresh! The only thing was that I had to order my dressing separately, which I didn't realize until after I got my salad. Because it was fairly busy, it was hard to track down my waiter, but got it nonetheless! And lastly, the holy shiitake is.. well, holy shiitake! If you're a mushroom lover, it's the PERFECT pizza. The aioli drizzled on top in swirly goodness just tops it off just right. You cannot go wrong with this pizza! I was able to get a half holy shiitake and the other half was chosen by the rest of my party. The only not so great part was that we were seated by a very loud party behind us that was drinking. Out of all the open places we could have been seated, it was right next to this party and wish we were seated somewhere else! By the time we realized it was an issue, we were already on our second order. Apart from that, the food is delicious and definitely worth trying! I very highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip and the holy shiitake! The price is a bit on the higher end but definitely worth it for the freshness and amount of food. I will definitely be coming back!

This one actually ended up being a surprise. We were going to go to Jimmy John's to get a sandwich but then ended up closing earlier than the time they posted on the website. It was an easy choice to pick Mellow Mushroom as it was across the street. figured we would make dinner a pizza but who knew they have burgers, sandwiches, and cocktails. Pretty good level of choices if you ask me. Nice place to stop by if you are in the area.

Currently, this is take out only, no dine in. The place appears very eclectic, we were looking forward to a nice dine in experience, maybe another time or location. Note - they offer ample rear parking!

Went here with the significant other for dinner as he knew I have never had Mellow Mushroom before. :) The air was lively and service was pretty good. The bar was pretty packed as people came in for some Sunday dinner. We shared the large house special pizza -- that could easily feed 3 people. That thing was massive. One slice is equivalent to two small slices. I ate one slice and was done. Well, that was bc we also had 1/2 an ordered of the oven roasted wings in a sweet Thai chili seasoning. Pizza: The veggies and meats were def premium grade and tasted great. Wings: The wings were mediocre as they were small and some were dried as if they been recooked. It's when the skin shrivels up and is super dry. Mellow Mushroom has its own parking spaces along the sides and back of the establishment. There is a warning sign as you enter stating that if you leave the premise then you risk the chance of being towed (or booted -- one or the other). There is of course street parking, and it is free on Sundays.

I placed an order online for 10 pizzas and picked them up one hour later. When I entered to pick them up, I was greeted and my pizzas were promptly retrieved. The worker went through the order thoroughly and made sure the order was correct. It was easy and pleasant. The pizzas were delicious and everyone at our party commented on how yummy the pizzas were. I will definitely be back to this location.

Placed an order at 5:52pm on a Sunday for pick-up - 7:05pm it's still not ready. We are talking about an order for a calzone. The place wasn't even busy. There are too many pizza places in Decatur to put up with this.

Do not order from here at all. Poor time management. They will tell you a decent time of when your order "should be" ready. However, when it comes time to pick up, they haven't even started your order after waiting almost an hour. No one communicates to let prep know Togo orders are here and awaiting pick up. Prioritizing isn't their strong suit. When you have a high dollar order, you're first in line. Even if you're dining in? You're still going to be last. The fact that the hospitality industry has completely gone down hill is terrifying. Go the extra 4 miles to the next one.

The bartender was great! The pizza was awesome! I ordered lunch for a meeting at work. I ordered at 12:30 I was sitting at the restaurant at 1:05. I did not get my pizza until 1:42. That was over AN HOUR from the time I ordered. I was an hour and 10 mins late to the meeting and am now in trouble with my boss.

*SHARP PIECES OF PLASTIC IN THE FOOD* My family dined there the evening of 8/12. We ordered a medium pizza, calzone, small salad, and drinks. While eating the pizza , my wife and daughter both felt small sharp pieces of plastic in their mouth while chewing- as a reference, the plastic looked similar to snake fangs. We obviously all stopped eating everyhting and told our server immediately. The response was a "sorry" (repeated several times) and the question "what can I do?". We didn't know what the deal was- was the plastic in the dough? the sauce? did it accidently get in everything but we found it in the pizza first? So I asked that they remake everything to go, since we had been there a while and my family still needed to eat dinner. (Side note to restaurant staff- don't make your customer come up with a solution; you should offer to take the food off the bill and remake everything... at the very least.) And so we waited. The whole time we waited no manager came by, nobody bussed our table, nobody so much as came by to refill drinks. We sat there with barely eaten food on the table and empty cups while staff felt they should tend to everyone else. When the meal came out from the kitchen again, the disappointment continued; they only remade the medium pizza (no calzone, no salad) and the simplest way to describe the pizza would be to say "burnt." So there it was- a burnt medium pizza, some iced teas, a beer, and four empty stomachs for $52.33. It was incredibly disappointing, and there are too many other other options in Decatur, including better pizza, for anyone to feel the need to go here. I know my family and I will never be back.

We went to Mellow Mushroom last night and the service was outstanding. Our waitress "Kam" was so nice and attentive. She asked us what our names were and always responded by using our names in the conversation. Customer service is so important to me and for this I will always dine at this restaurant. She also sung Happy Birthday at another table and she has a great voice. What surprised me was that she asked if it was okay to sing. Impressive!! Thanks Kam for making our stay enjoyable. The food (pizza and wings) were excellent. Job well done!

My friend went to pick up a pizza today. She asked for a marinara sauce and the worker placed the pizza that was not yet paid for on the counter, told her not to steal it (as if it was a joke), and went to go grab the sauce. The racism experienced at this establishment was not okay, and telling someone "not to steal it" is not something anyone should ever say, nonetheless to a POC. Needless to say, we all will never be ordering from here ever again.
