"Reopening this fall on West Ponce de Leon Avenue, this Decatur outpost returns as a company-owned store with refreshed interiors and exteriors, a new to-go window, weekly events, a redesigned bar, new patio seating, and a test kitchen where new menu items will be tried before launching nationwide. Company leadership says the location means a lot to Mellow Mushroom and that they’re coming back with new energy to reconnect with the neighborhood and deliver the best-possible guest experience. No reason was given for the June closure—announced on Instagram after nine years in business—and no reopening date has been provided; prior to this, the restaurant closed in 2014 at Commerce Square and later reopened in 2016 on Ponce de Leon Avenue under Harvey Brown’s ownership. For now, it’s making a comeback." - Henna Bakshi
