Mellow Mushroom Downtown Atlanta

Found this fantastic place right near where I was staying in Atlanta. I loved all the options to customize your order, particularly the vegan cheese! I ate here 2 nights in a row (because the 1st night was so good and saved me from looking for another place)! The first night I had the Sausagefest Calzone and it was HUGE! It comes with meatballs, Italian sausage, Genoa salami, mozzarella, provolone and seasoned ricotta. I ordered without any of the cheeses and added vegan cheese and it was super delicious and full of toppings! The next night I had Steak & Cheese Hoagie which comes on a hoagie roll filled with mayo, lettuce, and roma tomatoes, melted provolone, grilled, shaved all-natural ribeye steak, grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Again, I took off the cheeses and replaces with vegan cheese and no mushrooms. Again, was very delicious! Service was mixed, the first night, it was great when I picked up, the 2nd much more cold and took waaaay longer than it said it would take. It's in a cool looking building with a large patio.

$7.57 for a lunch salad and they don't even fill up the small container. Please don't go here and get a salad. Over priced and very small. Wonder what the side salad container looks like. This salad should have only cost $3.00 for the VERY SMALL PORTION.

First time eating at this location. Even though it was slow... Literally only one other table inside, the vibe was nice and the service was on point. If I remember well I think the server's name was Tray. The food was great. We all enjoyed it. The only thing that sucks is the parking.

It's a very upbeat lively active restaurant environment. Each time I go there I order the super pep pizza is best to get a small size cuz a medium is too much for one person The pizza is second to none. The waitress on occasion will forget that you are sitting there waiting on your food.

We walked here from the Georgia Aquarium, it was super convenient to get to and not busy at all, despite being a Sunday! Our server was nice, fast, and mostly accommodating, although our party of 9 had to be split between 2 tables. The food was very tasty, especially our pretzel bite appetizer! The prices were pretty decent too. Despite being a chain, this place really has a unique charm to it. I enjoyed my experience here, and would recommend visiting.

Ordered and waitress disappeared, never a refill on drinks or asked if we were okay. Only up side was the pizza was good.

This Mellow Mushroom has no parking, and they could care less! The food is great and so are the people! The boot people here are out of control and nasty as hell. Don't expect mellow mushroom to do anything to help. And they will treat you less than human to lest!

Pleasantly surprised during our visit here. The staff was super friendly and the pies were incredible. Really impressed with the crust, both fluffy and has a nice chew to it. The toppings tasted fresh and the combinations were great.

Everytime I come to Atlanta I come here! The prices are fair for the food portions and its really good.

We are from out of town. We have been to several MellowMushrooms in other states. They've always had great food and good atmosphere. This was not the case here!! The food was the worst I've ever had at a MM! The food and atmosphere felt like a cheap, kids pizza place. No where near the quality and atmosphere we have seen at other MM. Pretzel bites-burned Pizza--burned on top but crust was half baked Don't recommend going here.

It was packed because of the cheerleader takeover and service was slow. The food was mediocre at best and the calzone didn't have cheese in the entire thing. The end 2 or 3 inches were nothing but bread. We have one in Denver and went several years ago and weren't particularly impressed. The meatballs in the meatball and cheese appetizer weren't very good either.

We actually couldn't even find this place on foot. Maps doesn't take you there and it was too cold to keep searching for it. No delivery. Disappointing how hard we looked to not find it.

I ordered via Uber eats. I ordered the honey Sriracha wings and the veg out pizza. Both were decent not outstanding, but I would order again.

I love the pizza and drinks here. always a reliable time! cute place and can pay for parking. service was quick! One of my favorite pizza places in the city.

Service was outstanding and the beer was cold. , I wasn't a fan of the pizza. I would go back and try another menu item.

It was Friday Night and the family consensus was that we wanted to do a Pizza Night. As Pizza was the decision, it had to be good. After doing some digging on Yelp we ended up at Mellow Mushroom. The location is super convenient as it's in the heart of Midtown. There are a few street parking spots, however, there is a paid parking deck directly next to the restaurant. It's a win win. Unlike the usual 'pizza spot,' upon walking in there's a sign that says "Please Wait to be Seated!" It was at that moment, I knew this was going to be an experience. LoL. Taking in the environment, the ambiance is very chill and laid back. This is a great location for a low key night out with friends, family, or even a chill themed date night. Adding to the pleasant ambiance, the hostess was super nice and all smiles. He sat us immediately and made a great welcoming impression as it relates to the standards of service. Once seated, our waiter, Jesse came over and introduced himself. Along with welcoming us to Mellow Mushroom, he confirmed the number in our party and immediately took our drink orders. Again, a great representation of service. With such an assortment of menu items there is something for everyone and every craving. Naturally as it was family night out, we were all ready to order up the menu. LoL!! The Food: Pretzel Bites - Not your traditional pretzel bites. If you are looking for the hard outside and soft center, these are not them. These are homemade and have a full doughy profile. They put you in the mindset of a soft, chewy, pizza crust cut into bite size pieces. They are enjoyable if you are looking for a bread based app, however, if you have a taste for a traditional pretzel, this isn't the fix you need. Greek Salad - Everything on the salad was FRESH. Though I ordered the 'Lil' size it was more than enough. The Feta was amazing. The thinki sliced onions and peppers were amazing. And the highlight of the salad beyond the FRESH ingredients is the house dressing. OhMyGosh!!!! I'm talking robust, well seasoned, not too thick, not too runny, a perfect made dressing for a perfect made FRESH salad. Mighty Meat Pizza (M) - This pizza was everythingggggggggg. This is a go big or go home kind of pizza. Extra meaty. Extra flavorful. And, Extra good. The pizza has a traditional flavor profile, however, it is elevated by the Mellow Mushroom Crust. Not your typical flour dough. The MM crust is a different breed. According to their website, the crust stands apart from the rest as it has a distinctive sweet flavor and soft texture that starts with a dough made from five simple ingredients and mixed with single-source Appalachian spring water. Now listen, I've never had a crust made with Appalachian spring water, but babeeeeeeeeeee. It is GOOD!!! LoL!!! Cheesy, Meaty, and perfectly baked. Not only was my pizza amazing, but every pizza that came to the table was awesome. If you're in the area and looking for a Pizza or Salad fix, head over to Mellow Mushroom and get your order on!

When I placed the order for the pizza, I planned to pick it up at around 5:30. Since I was within walking distance of Mellow Mushroom, I decided to walk there. However, when I arrived, I realized that the address given for this location had directed me to the wrong side of the street. After finally finding the store an hour and a half later, I spoke with the staff, and they informed me this issue happens frequently. To make matters worse, my pizza wasn't even ready when I got there. Apparently, there was an issue with the online ordering system at this particular Mellow Mushroom; my order either wasn't in the system or the ticket hadn't printed out. The manager eventually found my order on the computer and placed it again. The only silver lining was that I got two hot pizzas instead of one that had been sitting out for an hour and a half.

Cool vibes (music is great!) and space is large for big groups. I was starving and this place hit the spot. I ordered The Merry Prankster (size medium) and was so so happy with my choice. I probably could've ordered a small pizza, but like I said -- I was hungry. Our server was excellent and even offered us to-go cups for our drink when we finished eating, which I really appreciated since we were traveling back home after the Passion 2024 Conference. Would recommend to groups (big and small). This place has all the options -- vegan, too! Will definitely return next time I'm in Atlanta.

I had not been to a Mello Mushroom Pizza in years because I don't live in the area and I've never been to this location before my visit there. The location, in Midtown, is nice, the ambience and vibe were great as well. The pizza, flavor and texture was not as I remember from other locations in the past, but was still good. I will certainly return for pie!!

We came here on a date night last Saturday and were seated right away. Our waitress took amazing care of us throughout the evening and made really good recommendation of their popular items. We started with cocktails - strawberry smash margarita and it was delicious! You can see real pieces of strawberry which was refreshing. We shared the artichoke dip which went really well with the garlic bread. For the main, we opted to build our own pizza and the restaurant uses stone brick ovens so the pizza came out perfectly. Overall a great experience and great for the price!

I used to say that I really have never had "bad" pizza, donuts, or burgers. Some are better than others, but typically it is hard to make these foods not good. Well, I can't say that anymore. The Pizza was fine. Good maybe. Average to slightly above. They don't have donuts, but this place gave me my first awful hamburger. I thought it a safe choice but they cooked this burger like it earned entrance to the gates of Hell. I added avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese and somehow this burger was so well-done, it left my mouth and throat dry. It was simply awful. I don't recommend the burger. Guess i should have known and stuck with the pizza and wings. Wings were good by the way.

Mellow Mushroom is located at the base of The Twelve in Downtown Atlanta. I work nearby, so when I want to indulge in pizza, I walk over to this location. The Parking: There's a parking deck close by and available street parking, but you'll have to pay for either. The Service: I've always ordered online and walked over to pick up. The Food: I've had their pizza and wings. The pizza I get is the Mighty Meaty, which is their version of a Meat Lovers. (Mellow red sauce base with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham and applewood smoked bacon.) Next, I had the Thai Chili Oven Roasted Wings (Served with celery, carrots and your choice of ranch or bleu cheese dressing.) Both were really good! Overall, I would definitely recommend!

Just paid $43.25 for the WORST lunch ever. The pizza had ZERO flavor, ZERO sauce and ZERO seasoning. The "Elevated" Cobb salad was anything but. No eggs, they don't do eggs. Menu did not list eggs and I didn't ask, so OK. The salad was horrible. The chicken artificial, fatty and somehow, sweetened. The bacon had the same horrible flavor. The beer, a blue moon draft was flat. switched the beer out for a red stripe. Paid for everything and tipped the server 18%. It was just nasty. What a surprise. I mean, it was 3pm in the afternoon and not crowded but this is what I go. Never again.

Awesome Pizzas!! I would love to eat there everyday, . Staff are very friendly. My 5 stars.

Arrived about 1pm on a Saturday early May, busy due to short staff so ~20min wait in a restaurant only half full (not counting the upstairs which is closed). Once seated service was prompt, took about five minutes after drink water to get them, which is when we ordered food. Pizza arrived fresh and hot, really well-made and flavorful, crust has a really good chew. Soup didn't come till we're done with our pizza because they were out and they had to make some more. THIS is worth coming for, great melding of the mushrooms in the flavor profile, and the aged Wisconsin cheddar used in the soup really gave it a nice cheddar mouth feel...mmmmmmm. The ambience is colorful and fun, really nice mushroom sculptures in the ceiling above, everything gives an Alice in Wonderland type of feel. However, this place desperately needs a top down cleaning at least in the seating/restaurant area. The amount of dust on the light rails/fixtures, mushroom sculptures, air vents above you is just threatening to fall down onto your food. If it had, it would have been a free meal. (Its not gonna be cheap either b/c they'll need talk ladders and a 40' lift to do it, not to mention taping off the food prep areas to prevent dust drift when doing so) The food is great, service is friendly and they apologized for the wait on the soup. I would go back for the food. They have plenty of outdoor seating, which gives you an alternative place to eat your without worrying that giant clumps of dust bunnies are gonna rain down on your food.

Mellow mushroom is really good. This location isn't the best. My pizza didn't taste fresh. The garlic cheese bread barely had any garlic on it. My mushroom pizza was pretty ok. The small sizes are good for one person, and are pretty filling. I know this place pizza is really good. You definitely need to try their pizza while it's fresh out the oven and hot!!

Had pizza delivered. It had no flavor & a crust that was soft & wet. Mellow Mushrooms are all off our list. Rating of 2 stars is due to the promptness of delivery.

Bartender seemed spaced out... I asked for a small salad never received it And then I asked for a white sauce pie call mushroom and never got any mushrooms, then she asks if I wanted to get aside of mushrooms.. no Place is no good

We arrived late into Atlanta and Mellow Mushroom is next to our hotel. Lovely, friendly hostess! We ordered the Thai Dye Pizza, Enlightened Spinach Salad and mushroom soup. The Thai Dye is fabulous. Oooooh, my favorite now. The pizza dough is a cross between pizza dough and Naan Bread. I thought it had more of an Indian flavor than Thai. The fresh cucumbers on top were surprising and refreshing to the palette. Again, fabulous. Mushroom soup was too salty. And spinach salad was fresh, tangy, sweet and perfect!

Mellow Mushroom saved my life! Another pizza place took a $300 pizza order from me for a business meeting and cancelled my order 20 minutes before the meeting started. Nick in the catering team from Mellow Mushroom made my emergency his priority and ensured me he would get us taken care of. In about 30 minutes we had a dozen pizzas delivered! They were amazing! Pizza was also delicious and a big hit! Thanks for saving the day Nick (and your driver- I didn't get her name but she was also incredible!)!

Ordered from them the first time and they did an amazing job. Thank you so much for accommodating all of our requests, being on time and making delicious food. Referred to MM by a colleague in Atlanta. Everyone loved the food and the sweet tea. I was asked to order from here again in the future. Super easy to order online. When more people were showing up last minute, I called the store and they had no issue adding more items to the order and getting them with just 2 hours notice. Thank you! I have to say this was my worst mellow mushroom experience. For starters I called in my order and asked for no bacon on the Buffalo chicken side of my pizza. That request was not fulfilled. One slice of my pizza looked like it had chicken but no sauce. I don't really know what happened there. Anyone looking at that pizza should know something is majorly wrong. On the phone I was told 45 min. When I arrived my pizza was basically room temperature. I had to reheat it up myself. I will try to avoid ordering from here on a Friday evening in the future. They clearly were rushing.

The attempt at the late 60's flower power motif was a bit but it was very clean. The pizza was tasty, hot flavorful with a crisp crust. Natalie was awesome. Ask for her when you come in.

After an evening of cocktails and attentive waitstaff offering me meat-filled hors d'oeuvres, I was thrilled to happen upon a Mellow Mushroom on the walk back to my hotel. The make-your-own pizza was just what the doctor ordered. I went with a vegan cheese pizza with artichokes, green olives, mushrooms, and red peppers. Yum!! The waiter was super nice, even though we rolled in dangerously close to closing time. Thanks, Mellow Mushroom!

Yum!!! Came here for lunch after spending the day in the city. My husband would travel to Atlanta often for work and always gushed about Mellow Mushroom. Being the pizza lover that I am, I just had to try it for myself. The place itself is very hip. Cool mushrooms hanging from the ceiling and lots of neon colors. Some staff have mask and some don't. Definitely a more chilled vibe. Our waiter was really nice and helpful as we navigated through the menu. We got a small cheese pizza for our kids, the cheese bread and wings for appetizer, and the great white pizza with pepperoni. I apologize in advance for no picture of the wings, but you have to understand they were amazing! There were no time for pictures once we got a bite. They were just that good. The cheesy garlic bread was delicious! Crunchy edges with just the right amount of cheese. Both pizza were great. The great white had these tomato's that bursted with flavor once you took a bite and out two little kept asking for more. I am a huge fan of anything that has my kids asking for seconds. We had an awesome experience and I look forward to coming back and enjoying some more tasty treats for this place.

Visited from NJ where pizza is really good. We were impressed by the crust and variety that we went 3x during our stay. Great service as well.

It was delish and the service was very good! Outdoor seating was cool even in the summer heat and provided good cover for our table.

Went with a group of 7. One had to be Gluten free. They forgot that order, brought it out later after everyone was already done eating and it was literally raw. The waitress was not very friendly, never checked in us or asked how was everything. It was in the middle of the week so it was a light crowd there but I don't think I'd every eat at this chain pizzeria again.

What an experience that was. There was 11 of us that went here for lunch. Knowing that it was a large party, I knew it would take longer than usual for the service and the food. However - what I did not expect was non-existent service and wrong orders and no employees. There was basically one person who was taking the role as the host and also as the server during the lunch shift. Within the restaurant, there were maybe only 4 other tables. So let's say there's a total of about 30 people here dining in at the restaurant. It still takes a lot of time and effort to serve 30 people all on your own. The server took the drink orders relatively quickly; but after that we tried to order for the longest time and they took a good 25 minutes until they returned to take down the orders. The orders were pretty simple - not many customizations so I thought it would be a smooth dining experience. However, what happened after was bizarre. We waited about 45 minutes for the food to come out, and then one of the pizzas had toppings that someone never asked for, and then one of the salads were missing a main protein that they never asked to be removed, and then lastly - someone literally never got their order because the server forgot to place the order in the system. Overall, this entire experience took about a full 2 hours and although the food was good and I'd say was definitely satisfying - the lack of service and attention to detail was poor. The one order that was missing - they never even brought it out. Someone from our table had to go walk over to the front to ask for the food and they had us serve our own food. All in all - this place needs immediate help in terms of personnel and increase the headcount so they can be more efficient going forward.

Terribly slow....there were 2 groups (not even that large) and then maybe 4 other tables occupied. Food took forever to come out and it was just pizzas. Also never came to refill drinks.

I'm obsessed with the ambience...the mushroom decor and music made the dining experience amazing! the restaurant is incredibly spacious, perfectly for a group outing with friends or family. The employees were friendly and attentive. As someone who had recently moved to the area, I will say the pizza was a little overhyped in my opinion. don't get me wrong, the pizza was great....but there are some higher preferred pizza locations for me in the area.

The best pizza I've ever had in ATL! And the service is so nice, friendly, responsive and patient! Would love to go back there again!

Ordered a gluten free pizza as well as pretzel bites. Pizza wasn't too bad but if you looked at the presentation it wasn't very tasty looking. The pretzel bites were awful! I took the picture just after we open the box and the small container of beer cheese. Have no idea what the lump of black is but I took one bite and could not finish my bite. Dry and in no way tasted like a pretzel. Spent $48 for these two items and we will not order from here again! I would not recommend this place!

Small space and service was very slow. Parking is not for a big truck, park elsewhere. I've loved mellow mushroom for many years but this o e just missed the mark for us.

Pizza was really gross. Had no flavor and was a big dough ball. Honestly frozen pizza would be better

Regarding my last review, I think it was just the location I went to. After going back to a different location everything was good.

Had a great time at the Mellow Mushroom. A little tricky to find, but it has nice outside seating and fantastic service. The pizza was real nice and the mushroom soup was amazing. We loved our waitress and she gave us great suggestions and knew her local brews. Thanks for that. Easy to socialize with other folks. Would repeat and recommend. Cheers.

I love mellow mushroom and wish there were more of them. I always get the shiitake pizza which is delicious. It's unlike any pizza I've ever had. Normally I'm a cheese pizza only kind of girl but not here!

Pizza is average. Sauce has not much flavor, however it is nice they offer the trio of mushrooms as a topping. The main reason for the low rating, they are deceitful. I ordered TOGO and was kind enough to still give a tip. I checked my credit card statement the following day and they ADDED on more money to the tip... What dishonest people. Dude, you know who you are, I called the CC company to take back the tip charges. You are on notice! Update, 11/15/22: the manager reached out to me and I will be sending them the copy of BOTH my CC statement AND the copy of the original bill. Stay tuned to see what they will actually or can do....

The pizza was great, the service was superb and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely visit again when I'm in town.

Stopped by for lunch while staying at the 12 (same building). The food was really good, salad was fresh (forgot to get a before picture), the seasonal 3 dip appetizer was ok, nothing stood out. The guacamole needed some flavor or a pinch of salt. The spicy pineapple was good. The pizza was very good. Decent place, not super busy (Friday around 2:30pm) and the server was friendly.

Typical Mellow quality in an urban setting. Fresh ingredients, hand made carefully by hipsters and former hippies with love. Our favorite pizza without a doubt.

Always an eclectic experience with the decor and ambiance, food never disappoints! Our server was very attentive and funny. Great time, would dine again.

I absolutely love Mellow Mushroom. Everytime I'm in ATL and I stay at Twelve around the corner I generally go to this pizza joint. The pizzas are flavorful and what you expect for a traditional pizza place. I say that because many places have gotten too fancy and focus on flatbreads (which I hate). When I want a pizza I want my crust thick buttery and the toppings flavorful. Well that's exactly what you'll get here. My favorite is the Truffle Mushroom. Its sooooo good! 5 starts cause I have always had pretty fast service here as well!

after sitting down it took our sever a minute to come over and after ordering drinks, she had made many mistakes, like not knowing certain things on the menu. She and her staff mates also seemed to be standing around, as I will admit it was almost closing. but sadly, we had more issues, as she didn't serve us together, so we had to wait in intervals to eat. the salad and the tater tots order were limp and undercooked. when we were wrapping up she walked over, asked how we were and left . It seems that training needs to happen more, as we had many issues.
