Melody Bar & Grill

We visited during happy hour and unfortunately, the service was not great. There was only one person taking orders, which made things very slow—possibly due to a private party happening at the same time. Took us 30 minutes to place an order and almost missed happy hours Many customers seemed to also have issues with their bills, going back and forth to sort them out. I eventually manage to get help from a server who didn’t speak English but was very willing and kind—he took my order at the bar and did a great job despite the language barrier. The food was okay, nothing particularly memorable. Parking is either in nearby lots for large stores or on the street if you’re lucky. A heads-up: Google Maps might direct you to the back entrance of the bar. There’s also some outdoor seating available, which is a nice option in good weather.

Love this place. Lively, neighborhoodish, diverse bar with a great vibe and what looks like a plentiful bar menu. (I just had the garlic fries with a local IPA on my last visit). Great array of music styles pumping. On a Tuesday afternoon last week, guests across the bar were grooving, singing, and dancing to the beats. I walk over from LAX during long layovers, but usually Uber back. Grab a massage next door if you have time!

I've been here many times and I love the vibe. As a singer, I always enjoy both listening to and performing karaoke. But moreover, what I absolutely love about this place is the vegan options on their menu. They prove that you can have great plant-based options alongside a full menu. It's such a relief to come to a place with my friends and not be worried about not having options to enjoy. And the food is delicious to boot!

Cute little spot but not for kids ! There was no one to tend to us in the patio ! Everyone was at the bar . I had to wave a person down to let them know we needed menus and service ! Not a family dining , not a place for comfort food !

This used to be the spot. I don't know if they were short-staffed Sunday night but there was only one bartender taking orders. It took almost an hour before she took our order since it looked like she was catering her "regular customers" first. We definitely stayed there longer than we should have. Luckily the DJ was playing good music. After we ate our food and had our one drink we decided to leave and go somewhere else. I hope you guys get more staff because I really like Melody Bar.

Excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere, if you are in the area is totally recommended.

Went for happy hour on a Friday evening. A solo bartender seemed to be the only one serving in the entire joint. The atmosphere was absolutely sketch at best. Cheap, tacky gold and silver vinyl as tablecloths, music blasting right by the bar so you can't even hear the bartender talking (at 5pm), and just a dark, dirty vibe all around. After waiting at a table for 10 mins for any service at all, we just left. What a waste.

I went solely for karaoke. Was heading back to Seattle the next day and wanted to sing a few tunes in LA. I've only been doing karaoke for 8 months or so but Melody had the best karaoke vibe of any place I've been to. Best audience participation ever! KJ Joker had it dialed in. I will be back if I have the opportunity. Karaoke starts at 8:30 PM every Wednesday.

Talk about the total Bar & Grill experience, funky place, close to LAX with amazing food. A bit on the pricey side, but fantastic. Our table had Green Bean App, Burger, Ribs, Caesar Salad & Cobb Salad. All top notch. Friendly service from the bartender. This is not a quiet place, music & sports happening, but a super place to drop in when in the area. Lots of fun regulars too. Only one complaint, THE TIP IS ALREADY ADDED TO THE BILL. Not cool. That's why it's a 3 instead of 4

Nice place to watch the game and have a few drinks. Local hole in the wall hangout spot. The 2 male bartenders/servers were nice. A couple customers tried to give them $hit on their bills and random petty stuff, but they stayed cool, calm, and friendly. The food could definitely have been better. The lobster mac was a joke. It was unflavored noodles with lobster pieces as a topping, not mixed up all the way through it as it should have been. The chicken wings were rubbery, with barely any lemon pepper flavor. But the straw of disappointment, was when a roach (YES ROACH) crawled out from underneath the bar counter where we were sitting and eating.

The tacos were great! Excellent and fast service also! $3 tacos on Tuesday's! Loved the salmon

Sliders- 5 stars Garlic fries- 5 stars Chicken pot pie fries- 3 stars- the chicken had too much gristle. Service - 5 stars

Close to the airport- great spot to grab a bite and a drink while waiting for friends to arrive. Bartender was fast and friendly. Grabbed a margarita and a lunch special 50% off sandwiches.

Amazing burger and honestly the best place to do plane watching around LAX. Amazing service!

Stopped in to have some liquid refreshment while waiting to pick up a friend at LAX. Melody has apparently long been the perfect hangout in this regard, though I've only recently discovered it -- and I'm very glad I did. The restaurant is directly across the street from the big and busy In-N-Out that everyone heads to upon arrival, so it's situated just before the ramp that feeds into the LAX horseshoe... it's a quick and easy trip from Melody to all the terminals. This pub is a wide open, brightly lit sports bar with plenty of TV's showing games, lots of energy and a good crowd of locals. Bartenders were all very nice and took good care of everyone during a busy, Friday happy hour. As for the food, well, I wasn't eating because I would be having dinner with my arriving friend, BUT everyone around me was eating, and everything that came out looked and smelled great. Wings come doused in a wide variety of sauces, and seeing them made me very jealous. Burgers looked awesome, and everyone seemed to really be enjoying their meal. This will now be my go-to for pre-pickup waiting, and I'll also make a point of coming here with friends to share a meal even when we aren't heading to the airport at all.

This is a short walk from LAX or Hyatt, and it's worth it. It's a bar and Restaurant, not much of a sign in front so look for the address. The chicken burrito and omelette that we ordered were very good. Low key place.

The bomb when you're bombed and laying over LAX! Gotta go. Catch the act. Grab a drink. Get the nachos like I did! Never a bad call if you follow that brick road. Chao!

After doing a morning LAX run, I had no excuse not to check out Melody Bar down the way on Sepulveda. Parking out front is good for an hour. Since it was on a Wednesday, the special of the day was choosing off the happy hour menu for lunch from 11a-3p (HH normally occurs 3p-6p) so this was going to be a great lunch. Ignoring what I just wrote, I ended up veering off this menu, instead trying their Bacon, Cheddar (minus Jalapeno) Mac & Cheese (I did end up getting a side of fries though). During this earlier time, there were only a handful of patrons at the bar, and a large screen tv right within my view. I sat closest to the kitchen, and noticed there was a hallway leading to some outdoor seating in the back, along with their own small parking lot. Let me say this food was very good. I killed the fries pretty quickly (served with ketchup and ranch). The mac & cheese was another story; bacon was prepared crispy just as I prefer, and it was heavy with the cheese. I ended up taking some of this to-go since I couldn't finish it. Sylvester was heading the bar, and all was good. Returned over a week later (this time LAX pickup) for an official HH, and boy was it the opposite of my first visit. Parking lot was 100% full in back but thankfully was able to find a spot out front. This was packed to the brim with people and a live DJ. Still found a seat at the bar but when that door opened, it was super windy due to the weather outside. This time I tried their beef sliders and Gilroy garlic fries. Once again, food was enjoyable and this was a perfect amount. I'll actually consider more airport rides as long as they are when Melody Bar is up and operating!

Great food, great drinks and amazing atmosphere. Servers are ALWAYS smiling and ready to get you served.

China was great! The service and music were both great. She promptly reminded us of the happy that would be ending in 15 minutes. The vibe was real chill, but it was pretty quiet for a Sunday evening. I had a house whose wine and the free fries from checking in.

Melody's doesn't miss. Food is ALWAYS good. Drinks always pop, literally one of my favorite happy hours. Service has been pretty consistent. Staff is always professional. It's your standard bar set up, music is loud and good and now that they have an outside area, it's even better.

Ordered delivery service using Uber, food arrived on time and as ordered. Order was correct, but not prepared as ordered. Ordered burgers medium rare and both were well done causing them to be dry. Chicken fingers were awesome, love the batter and serving size was huge, 4 large tenders. Fried Green beans were also excellent. Fries came hot and crisp and not soggy has sometimes happens due to moisture build up in the to go container. Will return.

This little spot was close to my hotel. The food was pretty good and the drinks were nice. The crowd was probably a 30 and an older vibe which I enjoy.

Been going here for 5 plus years, spending $150 a week or more!!! This is an American bar, and I don't come here to listen to Mexican music blasting through the place!!! The chef didn't want to change the music until someone called the owner!!! Ridiculous

They need atleast 4 bartenders this place gets busy!! They charge towards the weekend, because its more popular days. I don't hate the place but they aren't that accommodating. Sometimes they remove all the chairs from the front and everyone is just looking for chairs. This is more of an older crowd and LA Local place. Also a good place for those who have a layover for a while. Sometimes there is live music. Good vibes. FREE fries when you check-in.

Super great happy hour spot to go to on a long LAX layover! They have happy hour everyday from 3-6. The food and drinks were great and super affordable. Portions were pretty big for happy hour. The chicken tenders were clearly homemade which was nice, and the garlic fries had tons of actual garlic on them. Drinks not during happy hour are a little pricey - more than double the price than the $6 happy hour drinks. depending on where you sit you can see planes landing which was pretty cool. Service was a little slow, but not too bad unless you're in a rush. They had pretty loud music inside, so if that's not your thing then maybe skip this place. Definitely would come again if I was in the area!

Had a disappointing experience at Melody Bar and Grill on a busy Saturday night, especially since it was Halloween weekend. Despite a packed house with no open chairs and a private event on one side, they had only one bartender working the entire bar. From 11:30pm to 1am, he stayed glued to the north side, ignoring guests on the DJ side. We ended up having to leave our seats and stand behind the people on his side just to get his attention. When we politely pointed this out, he responded with an attitude, telling us to just go over to where he was stationed -- pretty unprofessional. One bartender on a night like this? Big mistake. Only redeeming part was the music; the DJ kept the vibe on point, and we would've stayed longer if we could have actually ordered drinks.

Glad to say I've finally satisfied my desire to chill at Melody's. I've heard about it for years and should have started coming here years ago. It's the perfect spot to socialize over drinks and food. Proximity to LAX is really convenient. I'd rather get some before or after flight drinks and food here vs LAX. K6d9s to the owner for having Happy Hour everyday 3-6pm and the food is great. There's an impressive vegan menu too. Back patio is very inviting and has a large flat screen TV. There's also a small outdide seating area in the frontwhere I could puff on a cigar, sip a drink and watch the jets landing and taking off at LAX. I'll definitely be coming back. I heard they have live music in select nights.

From clubbing in here in my early 20s to now bringing my 5 year old on Sunday mornings for breakfast and oldies, I'm glad Melody is still around! The service is good and the DJ plays good songs during brunch. Taking away two stars for awful communication and customer service when it came to a group of us coming in on a party bus. I emailed a month before our visit about a group of us coming here as one of our stops for the night. I asked in the email if there was a cover, what time the kitchen closed, and what time the bar itself closed. Whoever responded told us we were welcome to come, the kitchen hours, and the bar hours. However when we arrived they were talking about a cover charge and the door person was hella rude about it (think typical bouncer attitude) and told us to take up our issue with whoever sent the email because it wasn't his problem. Yes, we had the money to come in but it was the principle of the matter. A cover/table fee was never mentioned when I asked that specifically in the email. Super inconvenient and tacky so we went somewhere else.

The place definitely has a vibe. The music was good, but really really loud. The service was great and our waitress was super nice. Overall the drinks were poured well and the food looked good.

Sunday 8/21 horrible experience with your night shift staff. Your website states closing at 2:00 am. We arrived, then within 15 minutes was getting kicked out cause your closing. It was 1:45 am. Mind you we paid in full but was never informed prior that you will be closing in 15 minutes. Some common courtesy would have been greatly appreciated before entering notifying us of how long we had, by giving us the chance to decide to enter, knowing your closing in only 15 mins. Can you please add on all your social media & at your establishments even though it states 2:00 am, but we start clearing the bar out at 1:45 am.

Always a good time at Melody's! Happy hour menu has good selections. The staff are very nice! And the music is great!

Dang, I always support my people but tonight they were on edge and rude. The bald head manager specifically told me I was not a queen and to get out. Mind you it was raining and I was headed towards the door. My feelings were hurt as a black single mom during Women's History Month who just wanted to hang with my little sister. It's like ughk. Napolean complex. Hire more staff if you need to but trust me, Im not the one to disrespect. It all comes back around. Selah. I will not be back. Your loss. You dont know who I am. My FAV restaurant. I started coming to Melody's in 2018 and would drive to LA to watch my Raider games with Raider Fans during the pandemic. Now that I'm in the airline industry I get to recommend Melody's to everyone who has a LAX overnight. Great food...GREAT SAFE atmosphere right across the street from the airport.

Oh lawd, oh lawd. I will be short and sweet. Met a friend for happy hour and we didn't even get a chance to finish our food nor drinks due to a mouse running across the floor in front of us and a rat running on the fence outside. Wish I could have finished my chicken strips and fries. I'm sure the mouse and rat ate well. I should have went inside when we were invited continuously. Ani the waitress was stellar. Personable, professional and she checked on us several times.

Great prices and awesome bar service by Noe. Good ambiance and great food. Everyday is a different experience and food special. Delicious shrimp tacos on Tuesdays.

seating area Ambience reminds me of A Bronx tale whisky on the rocks. Menu variety selection. Prices reasonable. time to get our food was a little lengthy. But it did taste good. Except the hash browns tasted a little burnt. Server friendly

Came here for Taco Tuesday with a friend and ordered a fish taco and Asda taco with garlic fries and a lime margarita. Everything was so good and fresh that makes me want to come back again when they play music and try their wings. Highly recommend. The only thing I didn't like was my drink was too strong.

Girlfriends and I ubered to Melody's where we were dropped off at the back entrance. We were confused and looked into the back patio area to try and find the entrance. We asked the security guard stationed there if this was an entrance, or if we should go around front. He stood up, walked towards us, put his hand on his belt, stopped, and stared at us without saying anything. We waited for him to say something, or give us direction, and he just didn't. We are 3 young women trying to start our night and this man glared and intimidated us into leaving. We we're very uncomfortable and felt like this interaction was extremely rude and uncalled for.

I currently live in the City of Inglewood and decided to come have lunch before work . I sat at the bar a received horrible service . I asked if I can speak to a manager and was told my bartender was the manger. I was completely taken back due to having experience within the restaurant industry as a bartender myself I didn't expect this type of service . If your looking for great service along with great food I would definitely say go somewhere else. Many of nice places within the area . The bartender /manager who was working before happy hour definitely gave me a bad vibe . I still tipped him and politely left. I'm all about great customer service.

We had the baby back ribs Garlic fries and Wings (Honey Hot and Lemon pepper. We sat at the bar where Allie and Rodrigo took care of us!! They were amazingly friendly!! Great service and great food!!!

I am just recuperating from all the cocktails if had here . We came here after going to the Coffee Co for breakfast . We had mimosas , cocktails, and maybe a few shots . The bartender , Verá, was super nice , approachable , and efficient . They also had a dj playing 2000's music or so which was great . I only tried the pamodora zuppa with a side of grilled cheese . It was actually really good but I couldn't finish it because I was full. I will come back for sensible cocktail in the near future before my flight . Thank you guys . J

I've been going here for years after work, or on a random weekend day/night well before and post pandemic - Also, before they made changes to the staff. The food and drinks are always great - and so is the music. However, on Saturday night, July 8, 2023 was my last straw. I arrived and paid the $10 fee at the back entrance. A while later I noticed my cell phone was missing in my purse, so I wanted to go out to my car and retrieve it. The person at the back entrance sitting at the table with the register said if I walked out they will need to charge me another $10 entrance. B**CH WHAT?!?!? WHY?!? THIS IS A BAR!!! Not a bougie establishment to be charging folks an additional fee to walk out, and walk back in. This never happened before, and I was always able to walk out and walk back in without any issues. Tina the bartender was so kind to walk out with me, and wait at the entrance while I went to my car, and I was able to walk back in with her without having to pay an additional $10 entrance fee. Make sure you have everything with you before leaving your car, because they will try to nickle and dime you for $10 if you walk out and walk back into the establishment. To avoid this, maybe issuing wristbands is the solution. But after this event occurred, and my experience dealing with the person manning the back entrance and register. They will still probably try to get you to pay the additional fee regardless. If that's the case then Melody's don't need to see me ever again on weekend nights. There are plenty of other bars within the area.

I visited the bar for my bday on Saturday 1/27/2024 I used my card one time for 32 dollars. 3 days later I have 2 more charges I didn't make on car in the middle of the night for 75 dollars. So please use cash if you go here they are committing some type of card fraud

Happy hour is great and plenty of seating to Meet friends. Music and ambiance is relaxing after a days work.

I challenge anyone to review THE MELODY ANY DIFFERENTLY. Is it possible, For years the MELODY HAS been what LA is all about, a melting pot of patrons that all became one. It's a combination of Great atmosphere ( old school NY, combined with our warm Californians. ) combine that with a generous pour ,& incredible food, & now A plant based menu, that believe it or not is spectacular. Have to stop now the heavy pour is kickin in. Needless to say, the Melody is a wonderful , getaway, any day.

Parked in the rear and walked through a lively outdoor patio area. The vintage signs is the original from way back when. Very cool. We decided to dine inside. Described as a "dive bar", but it's more than that. It's more of a cross between an old school restaurant with the large booths and a neighborhood local bar kinda like Cheers where everyone knows your name. It was actually quite roomy and a little dim. There's a section that looks traditional and another section perfect for private parties as well. I'm guessing the vibe in the evenings would be very different. I saw an informal stage where a band would play. Since it was lunch time, I can't comment on any cocktails. We were recommended to try the Fried Green Beans. Omg, don't miss these. Perfectly crisp and non-greasy. The batter makes the difference. I wanted to be good, so I ordered the Vegan Sliders which were great in Kaiser buns. Couldn't really tell these were vegan. The Bourbon Chicken wings were my favorite too. The boys ordered the Philly which was also very tasty. The service was friendly and very accommodating. Now if you were driving by on the street side, you can easily miss this place. Why? The signage up front doesn't pop. It seems that people in the know come here, but it's a gem. So if you're wanting a taste of LA by LAX and need to kill some time, check out this place. Or if you're in the area, check it out.

We went for my birthday. The food was tasty but not warm. The service was slow and even though it was raining outside and only about 10 other people in the restaurant. The ambiance was empty considering it was a Monday Night Football night. I wish it was more people and better service that night.
