​I’ve been eating at Memo for over two years and, my go to order is almost always large Grilled Chicken Kebab (no cabbage), with extra yogurt sauce. It’s is grab and go / quick dine in spot with focus on authentic Turkish/Mediterranean food. After an order is placed (depending on what you order) it can take 7-15 min but totally worth the wait, because it is freshly cooked. I also recommend trying the new Chicken Wings, they are absolutely delicious and one of a kind.

The best Turkish-Mediterranean food ever. The food is always fresh and delicious. Lamb and Chicken Gyros are must try , along with all the skewered kebabs. The restaurant is very clean and atmospheric. Located right next to the F train station.

I was very excited when I saw vertical rotating rotisserie (doner/shawarma/gyro). Not many spots in NYC have those. But unfortunately the food wasn't great. The chicken was slightly burnt and dry. This cooking method is supposed to produce juicy meats but something isn't right about how they do it here. The portion size and veggies in their gyros are good. The yogurt sauce was watery and I wasn't able to use it. They didn't offer any garlic sauce which is commonly served with this dish. The staff were friendly.

BEST BEST BEST!!! Love the food, the flavors are amazing. The grapes leaves are very tasteful same as the Lamb and Mix Gyro. I 100% recommend. 👏 (Let’s not forget the Baklava).

Decent kebab and quick service 👌 Wait time wasn't too long. They grilled my chicken fresh and special for me. That wasn't the best chicken kebab in my life but still decent. No complaints. Lamb and beef wrap was good. A lot of meat and a bit of veggies. This place looks clean. Perfect for a quick bite. They have nice appetizers and a selection of desserts. Also cold drinks and hot coffee/tea.

So 1st I ordered the grill chicken wrap to go, I waited more than 30min, many people come after me and they took their orders, it’s not the first time ( hire more people to make customers happy , you wanna make many without spending it ?!) . 2nd the wrap has 80% vegetables 🥗 and 20% chicken 🍗 , You disappointed me ☹️ , if i was looking for salad i will order salad, it supposed to be more chicken and few vegetables, it’s not like that how treat your customers, 3rd the floor was dirty ! Food on floor knifes spoons etc, it’s easy every hour or 2 sweep it So that you don't get a review like this. Last the chicken is delicious to be fair. Good luck

Kind of food you are getting in a hospital; tasteless, bad quality and awful. I just had a bite throw the remaining in a bin. I have ordered chicken shawarma wrap. The only one reason I entered this shop because it says Halal.

You're walking down 6th in the middle of the night and there's a fragrant smell of deliciousness lingering from the corner of 23rd. Walk to the back to the nicest lady that takes your order and provides easy suggestions from the menu. I ordered the Lamb Shish Kebabs. S'GOOD. It took 15 min to wait for, but whew! Worth the wait. The lamb is so good, like melts in your mouth good. The salad tastes fresh. The rice is bomb. I'm not usually a fan of hot sauce but all the sauce they provide with the meal is excellent. Definitely would recommend for a late night bite!

The lamb gyro is a classic. But if you're vegetarian, you still might want to stop by for the bread, hot sauce and cold appetizers, the best of which is the fiery spicy mezze. In ancient times it was 24-hours but it's been slowly expanding its hours, currently open until midnight except Sunday.

Nice casual spot for gyro and kebabs. I ordered takeout from here and it was pretty good. Lamb Adana kebabs were good and the grilled chicken wings are good as well.

Good casual spot for the food. Good service. Chicken Breast Kebab: Got the large size which I shared with my mom, and it was tender. Lacking a bit of flavor, so the side sauces helped to bring out the spices. Had a side salad which made it a more balanced meal. I'd say that this is a solid place with decent price. It however reminds me a bit of halal food I'd get from the food trucks, which is cheaper and tastes similar. Overall still good, but might not come back again due to that.

This was BAD. Zero flavor and beyond bland. I had the chicken and lamb pita. It tasted like cardboard. It was baffling that something that looked appetizing could literally have zero flavor. The white sauce was super watery and a bit disturbing. You guys can do better.

An absolutely delicious Turkish meal. Right in the heart of Flatiron and NoMad. Walk in and take a look at the menu go to the register in order. They will call our your #. Extremely fast process to get your fresh Turkish delight.

Mrs and I decided to try this kabobs shack for dinner because it was close to our hotel. Also, we never had Turish style halal before. I went with falafel sandwich with Turkish bread. Mrs went with the Memo special lamb kabobs over rice with a little bit of salad. For desert, we shared an almond pudding. We both loved the bread of the falafel sandwich. It was not too soft and holded up well with the flavorful falafel Nd veggie. The lamb kabobs were savory and tender. The seasoning was perfect. The rice was just white rice, very ordinary by itself. But the fat juice from the kabobs made it delicious. Almond pudding was smooth and not overly sweet. The almond taste was definitely there, perfect ending to our meal.

My favorite restaurant EVER! I always recommend this place and it really is the best bang for your buck. $19 for a large portion and $15 for the small -- both of which allow you to have left overs for the next day. I love the small shop and how the employees are always so kind to help. I struggled with making my order and the employee was patient and super helpful. The food is delicious and leaves me craving more every time. The bread it comes with is soft and fresh. I personally don't get the salad but stealing some off my friends, it was so fresh and delicious. Anyway this place is amazing and I love it and I hope y'all try it.

Solid place we've visited for lunch or a snack. I like their turkish bread mixed gyro sandwich, reasonably priced and very tasty. I want to try the adana and shish kebab as well. Their rice platters are very good too but more expensive (about $20) and also bigger/more filling.

BEWARE! I went here today to get my weekly lamb gyro & and WOW, the woman at the register says my total is $14.15. I was shocked as the exact same Lamb Gyro sandwich was $10.83 last week. I understand inflation, but an increase of $3.32 in a week is not inflation but price gouging. They are taking advantage of inflation & gouging their customers. So I will no longer be going there every week. I'll either go less often or find another place. The gyros are very good but not worth almost $15, especially when they skimp on the veggies. If it wasn't for the price gouging, I would have given this place 4 stars

We found this gem near our work, a quick delicious tummy filling location for lunch. There's good number of seats to dine-in. Food gets ready in about 5-10 minutes. Platters, gyro, wraps all kinds are available. We have been visiting Memo every week since we found it. They keep the chicken and lamb cooking on skewers always. So you get a warm fresh cut every time. I love the lamb they make. It has a unique taste to it. Even though I am not a fan of the rice they serve, but with all other ingredients and white sauce, I can a heart filling meal from it. And special mention of the Baklava. Its a four piece pack, so soft and sweet, just the perfect item to wrap up a great meal.

I was honestly surprised that this place had reviews that weren't that great. I stopped by here for a quick bite and got the chicken gyro. The service was very quick and I got my good in a timely manner. The food was also pretty tasty. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner because there aren't any servers and the chairs are essentially bar stools facing the windows

Has the lamb gyro. It's large enough for $9, but it is quite bland, and a little dry. The pita is thin and dry as well - not the fluffy moist pita you would expect at a place like this. I didn't try the baklava, but the price was offensive at $8 for two measly squares. I am no stranger to paying too much for tiny pastries (and do so gladly when the quality is there), but the quality of the lamb and pita did not inspire confidence in their baked goods. I would return if hit on the head.

Great lunch spot if you follow the carnivore diet. Lamb kebabs or the mixed grill are both very good. Expensive but well worth the price.

This review is for customer service/being human. Moments after my son threw up on the sidewalk by the train station (too much junk at the circus...), someone from Memo came out with a bunch of paper towels and offered him water. Such kindness in a city so many people think is broken. It was highly appreciated, I will be back to give them business soon!

9 pm, on a Friday, and I still hadn't had dinner. Across the street, I spotted Memo Shish Kebab, and I knew this was the moment to give it a try. Fast forward 45 min, and I left disappointed. Why? Because I spent around $20-25 on baklava (yummy, but too sweet) and a small sized kebab. The lamb kebab was ordinary, although it somewhat redeemed itself after I sprinkled some of that red sauce. I do not think paying about $14 for a small sized lamb kebab was worth it, considering there exist $6-7 halal carts close-by with kebab dishes that pack more flavors. The price differential doesn't seem justified. Plus, I didn't particularly enjoy eating my food there while order numbers were being yelled out loud for customers every minute. I get that it's inevitable to some degree -- I just wouldn't recommend Memo Shish Kebab as a sit down place if that would bother you as it did me.

Easily, the most disgusting desserts I've had in my life. First the chocolate mousse cake isn't chocolate mousse cake. It's soggy, leaky, spongy, yet dry, waxed chocolate over a mess. It tasted like 3 day old leftover cake you neglected for a few weeks in the back of your fridge. I threw it out. Square thing wasn't even my order, instead of notifying me, they swapped out my pistachio rolls for this block of syrup and sugar. The mix is outrageously and inedible sweet. The baklava - damn, you were so close...but the best of the 3 desserts.

Had a fantastic Shish kabob sandwich with the great hot sauce. Very fresh and authentic tasting. I will be back. A great bargain and a real discovery!

Fantastic food that comes out hot, fresh, and flavorful. The best lamb shawarma that actually still retains the lamb flavor and isn't overpowered by the seasoning. The meat was crisp on one side but juicy and tender on the other. I got the large lamb gyro plate which came with a HEAPING pile of meat over some deliciously seasoned rice. On the side was fresh salad. Couldn't say no to a Mexican cola to seal the deal. I also picked up a really rich pudding dessert that would have been perfect with a hot cup of tea. So good, and I left incredibly stuffed. $28 for what really could have been two lunches for a normal human but I just have no self control! Great staff and they get busy but service is quick! Stop by if you're in the area.

Can you find the meet? I had Adana but it was almost vegan It's just a good located and clean looking launch corner.

I had the gyro wrap. It was very good. It was a big wrap that was cut in half. I had to save one half for another meal. It was that big! It wasn't that busy when I went; but the staff acted like it. I felt rushed. They weren't that friendly either.

Not a bad spot when everything is closed. Right by the train station. They have a variety of meat, veggie, salad bar, and gluten free options. I got a falafel salad, no bread, no hummus. Nice divey spot with fair prices, that is local and ethnically owned. They have Turkish drinks and desserts, as well as snacks.

This review is for delivery only. Had a craving for falafel and needed fast delivery to my workplace. One of my employees mentioned Memo's: she passes it a lot and said it's always packed. So I took a chance and ordered falafel in a pita ( cheating on bread :( but hey what's falafel w/o pita? Like peanut butter without jelly!) The food arrived quickly and I asked for tahini on the side (watching those calories!) and it also came with this cucumber mint dressing. I also ordered a spicy mezze. The sandwich was dynamite!!! packed with delicious falafel and lots of salad. It was fresh and delicious and tahini gave it a kick. I have yet to try mezze, came with bread on the side. I will try this with flax crackers at home. Highly recommend!

This Turkish restaurant was near to our hotel. It's fast casual in the sense that you order and pay at the cashier and are given a number. When your number is called you pick up your food. You can get it to go it to eat in. The restaurant was originally established in Brooklyn in 2000. Their "story" goes back generations when the grandfather had a local eatery in Urfa, Turkey. The grandfather, Mehmet, was known also as "Memo". There is a counter against the window and a communal high top table running down the middle of the restaurant. Everything smelled so good when we entered that we ordered a bit more than we could eat. We started with a small order of hummus which came with a piece of Turkish bread (similar to, but thicker than regular pita). As all our food came out at the same time, and I used some of the hummus to add to my sandwich. I had a "Memo shish kebab" sandwich. This version has smaller pieces of grilled lamb in it. It also had lettuce, tomato and cabbage on it. (I opted for no onions). I got it on Turkish bread. You can also order it on pita or as a wrap. The sandwich was so large I ate it with a fork and knife. They nicely also gave us some sumac on request. The counters have salt and pepper and a Turkish form of slightly ground hot red peppers to add as well. My husband had their lamb Adana Kebab sandwich. The meat is chopped and seasoned in a long skewer shape. It also came with lettuce, onions, cabbage, and tomatoes. To drink, we had Turkish tea. Even the small size was large. They also have juices, Turkish sodas, a yogurt drink, and regular sodas, water, etc. The menu contains salads, soups, cold appetizers, hot appetizers, entrees, and even seafood as well as desserts. In the morning, they serve breakfast until 10:30 am including some various Turkish pastries -- pies, rolls, croissants, etc., as well as eggs. I'd definitely come back when in the area. I'd like to try some of their other appetizers or salads... maybe even their felafel.

I got the lamb gyro on pita to go, and the food quality was, frankly, really poor. Both the side sauces tasted bad, even the regular hot sauce, and the meat was of a really low quality - chewy and odd tasting. I don't like to leave harsh yelp reviews because I know times are tough and anywhere can have a bad day or bad meal, but all aspects of the food I got were just really not good - I ended up having only a few bites and throwing it away, which I hate to do, especially with restaurant food. The service and speed were perfectly fine, but the ingredients and cooking were, well - bad.

this place really needs to be 4 or 4.5 stars, there is no better doner kebab in NYC, if we're talking authentic style from Istanbul, the service is great and location is clean

I remember when they first opened open in Brooklyn on Kings highway the food was delicious back then and it still is now I ordered a large mixed platter the meats were tender and juicy flavors popped with all the spices used

Always crave this place! Gyro plate served over fries is one of the best lunches I've found in Manhattan. Food is 5 star, but prices are a little high.

After trying their outpost on Kings Highway a couple of years back, I was surprised that they were opening a location in the city. Although they did take a few months to open in Chelsea, I was pleasantly relieved when they finally were and was excited to try out their offerings. The cashier that took my order was extremely friendly and bubbly. I ordered the Memo wrap which consisted of a pita wrap with seasoned vegetables and meat. The warp did take a while to be prepared, but all is forgiven though, since the wrap was extremely decadent. The meat was extremely tender, juicy and flavorful (comparable to steakhouse quality meat) and overall, I really enjoyed my wrap. I looked forward to stopping by here in the near future to try out their platters and desserts. I definitely recommend Memo if you're ever in the area and looking for a Mediterranean spot.

I took a chance on a new Turkish restaurant in Chelsea during lunch last week. I looked at the menu and immediately was excited that they had real homemade Turkish bread. I ordered the chicken gyro (döner) and let them add the traditional toppings. There was homemade sauces on the side, adding extra flavor. It was all delicious and I'm glad to know that I have an option for real Turkish food in the area. The lady who took my order was very nice and was excited to know that I enjoy and knew food from Turkey so she made me a big cup of the very fragrant type tea you only get in the dine-in experience. They also make traditional coffee is well as other specialties like lattes. All of the deserts and meats look fresh and ready to be cooked to order. I will surely be coming back especially when you can get a decent lunch for under $10.

Part of the Memo Shish Kebab branch in Brooklyn on Kings Highway they have now expanded into Chelsea Manhattan. They focus on Shawarma, gyros, and falafel. It's a nice corner spot with some window high bench seating. It's in the fast casual style of eating. Similar to their brooklyn branch the shawarma is the thing to get here. They have lamb and chicken varieties but go with the lamb. Spit roasted and tasty. Platters come with rice, cucumber, tomato, and purple onion salad. The meat is tender with a nice roasted crisp. The chicken varietey also tasted great. The variety here is plentiful as they have adana kebab and falafel as well that you can have in a pita with hummus. Definitely a place to go to get your shawarma fix and a great addition to the neighborhood.

Less meat, more fat and attitude from grill man, who doesn't care about customers service. My $16 wrap got skinny. When i ask for extra salad, front desk lady WAS NICE and said sure, even went and told them "extra salad" instead he put less everything. When i ask the guy to put more, he start screaming at me OMG. Embarrassing and disrespectful!! I wasn't getting anything for free though. DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

Disappointed . Discovered memo way back in 2012, when I lived in brooklyn. I still feel the Kings Highway branch is awesome. We decided to eat here since everything else was closed. Super clean location and very bright! We placed the order and waited for an extended period of time, we got the lamb gyro wrap and mixed gyro platter. The gyro was so so bland! They also forgot to give us the white sauce and we had to ask for it. Some of the members in my party didn't receive their food till the rest of us had finished, so we ended up just taking it to go. They need to up their service and food!

Love this place. Lentil soup and lamb Adana kebab are my favorite. The food tastes almost as good as in Istanbul :)

Clean store, order at the register and then pick up. Sauce was spilled in the bag so had to clean that up when I went home. The lamb isn't as fragrant or tasty as Mahmoun's lamb gyro sadly, just greasy and heavy sadly. The salad looked better, will try that another time.

Train your order takers...I ordered online through website after 30 min order was not received at the store...called the store for pickup.. entire order was wrong...not a good experience

This place is great for a quick lunch. What you see on the menu is exactly what you get. Fresh, plentiful and very tasty. Don't be discouraged with the line, it goes quick. Staff are polite, nice and service is good.

Awesome lamb gyro, I can't choose between Pita, Turkish or Wrap, so I switch between these options. The service is cordial and fast. Definitely my favorite kebab in New York City.

I've been to the Kings Highway location multiple times, and I love it there. The quality of the Flat Iron one is not as good as its sister location, which was disappointing. I had high expectations. I don't know if it was because we ordered for takeout, or if it was because we ordered at 9 pm (although technically, this shouldn't have an impact since they're open 24/7) but it was just a bit lacking. I had the mixed grill to share amongst two people. It was more than enough food but it didn't taste that good. The kebab was super chewy, and the lamb was a bit gamey. The two meats that I actually did enjoy was the chicken and the gyro. We also ordered a side of hummus and babaghanoush, so that helped cut the heaviness of all the meats. I haven't decided if I should give it a second chance and dine-in next time. Or maybe I should just stick to the KH location.

This place went up a few months ago right around the corner from my appartment. I decided to walk in and give it a try while I was out for a walk in search of food. I approached the cashier to place my order and their credit card terminal was down. The cashier was so nice about it. She actually smiled and put the order in anyways so that I wouldn't have to wait longer for my order. We waited a few minutes and the terminal was still down and my food was still not done, so I took a walk to the ATM and got the cash out and payed her. She was still so nice about it. By the time I came back and paid, my food was done. Everything had so much flavor and it was so yummy. I did go back a few times, and I will be back again the next time I am in NY. This is the best sheish I've had in awhile.

I've been meaning to try Memo for a while. Typically going to Trader Joe's and then walking by, finally decided to give it a try. First impression is that it's SO clean. Which is great! They offer your typical street cart food. I opted for the chicken and lamb on Turkish bread and my girlfriend went with the wrap. So the biggest difference here is what you want out of it. The bread tasted really good, but you definitely got less. The wrap tasted like a wrap but you got so much more! It looked like double the amount. So it's your personal preference here. As for the taste of the inner workings: it was good and, as you can guess by the cleanliness, tasted clean too. That said, I honestly prefer it from the street cart and I'm big time rafiqis for life. But this is a cleaner alternative. Worth a shot!

Lamb kebab is my go to and have never been disappointed it's cooked fresh as you order but we'll-worth the extra few minutes wait

We called in @ 11:30 lunch for 2 people, for 12:30 - Lentil Soap & Chicken Kebab. Lunch was delivered @ 1:30... OK, that happens, and I thought - I am so hungry now that anything will be great but, no... The chicken was gummy, chewy - definitely not chicken breast. The sauces were basically water with some white coloring. On the positive side, they get 2 stars because the napkins were really nice and there was a lot of chicken packed in the dish! (too bad it was so poor)... Bottom line: Go to the nearest Halal street Cart - you'll get a better chicken for less...
