My, how the mighty have fallen!!! Ownership must have changed because the decor DEFINITELY has. I had been going to this place since 2005. I'm from Louisiana originally, and a friend brought me here to get some southern flavor on the coast. I'll admit that I really liked the food, especially the brisket, ribs, and red sauce.
Over the years of being friends here, and it was ALWAYS the same, "Dang man, this place is !". This place became my go-to for YEARS, and unfortunately, the quarantine detoured my patronage. I decided to hit them up yesterday and have a trip back to Louisiana (I know, I know, I know... it's not like Texas or deep south bbq, but on point for the coast). I ordered the two item side with cornbread ( greens & beans), and a pound of rib tips. I got my food, headed home, and prepared to tickle my fancy... instead, my tooth got a rattling, alight Mike Tyson style workout, and my tastebuds are still pouting. The tin tops were like Jerry. The greens were overcooked and mushy, and to top it off... THERE WAS A ROCK IN MY BEANS!! Luckily, I didn't comp down, but I did bite it.
I would find another place to frequent... I think my Memphis Minnie days are behind me... with the increased prices, there shouldn't be a decrease in food quality.
THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE FOOD!!!
