Mendocino Farms

Mendocino Farms is a delicious restaurant and a great place to come for amazing sandwiches. They also have some incredible juices available for drinks, and I'd recommend trying them if you stop in. We got the "not so fried" chicken and Peruvian steak sandwiches, and both were delicious. This was our 4th or 5th time here, and we keep coming back to these 2 sandwiches. I recommend the "not so fried" chicken for your first time. It comes with a delicious bbq sauce to put on the sandwich, and you won't regret choosing this one. We also highly recommend grabbing a drink while here, as their options are unique and tasty. I always get the pomegranate mint lemonade, as it's my favorite and a great summer drink on the hot days!

This was my first time here. It is really fresh and delicious. They have a variety of great salads, soups, and sandwiches. I did find that this is very family friendly. Lots of children and kids menu available. There were a lot of call head orders, and the place was busy. So plan ahead or expect to wait at least fifteen minutes for your food.

Calm place to go eat, spacious, and also have a small patio outside with heaters. Been here couple times with my friend when we want to catch up. We like it because the food is good and it’s chill. However, it is on the pricier side and the portion size of food you get is not much for the price. Depending on how much you eat, this place could serve as a type of snack or appetizer for some. Additionally the times I have visited this place with my friend, the employees who have taken our orders seem upset or not happy to be there which makes it feel like we’re annoying them more by ordering together or something. Other than that everyone else seems friendly. My friend ordered this tangerine seasonal salad that she loved, a chocolate cookie and a lemonade drink. You are able to choose from the lemonade options they have such as guava, pomegranate with mint, and a green one of some sort (which was empty) meaning it could be the most popular. There are also fountain drinks to choose from as well. I ordered the half sandwich with a deli side combo and my friend convinced me to get a cookie as well. I got the turkey sandwich with the pesto pasta salad. Everything was delicious! The pomegranate lemonade was also super refreshing and great! I also recommend the guava one.

One of my companions was in the mood for a sandwich and boy did we find a great place. I had never been here before and was with two vegans. The menu was extensive and a huge amount of vegetarian and vegan options. The service was prompt and friendly. There is a kiosk system, but someone at the counter did the ordering for us. We had the vegan bon mi sandwiches all around! They were wonderful. Tofu, some type of mayonnaise, Sriracha something sweet lettuce, etc. etc. etc. The bread was soft inside crusty on the outside. We also had a side of dill pickle potato salad made with vegan mayonnaise that we shared. It was also superb. Will be a definite stop when I am able to get here. I am kind of glad there are none of these in my area as I would be here much too frequently.

I met Holly Ward and Andy the LaJolla location GM at Mission Valley mall when they were there with other restaurants promoting their businesses and I entered the contest to win lunch for my office. I was absolutely ecstatic when I won and my office was so impressed with the amazing lunch Holly delivered to us!! The sandwiches and sides, salad and cookies were so delicious and they accommodated everyone’s dietary restrictions! My favorite was the Steak and Bacon Chimichurri sandwich and also thoroughly enjoyed the Quinoa and Avocado Superfood Salad….and the cookies were great too!! I highly, highly recommend trying their catering for your next event, I know our manager plans to!!!

Mendocino farms catering is top tier! We got it for a product meeting and it exceeded all expectations. I loved the couscous, the crowd favorite was the bacon and steak chimichurri. Thank you so much Holly, Victoria and Kat, you guys are the best.

"A sandwich shop I’d love to visit again — perfect harmony of ingredients and sauces" Food: Sandwiches are priced around $14. The ingredients are fresh, and the sauces are packed with flavor. The bread is carefully chosen to match the fillings, enhancing the overall harmony. I thoroughly enjoyed the Farm’s Club sandwich. Service: The staff are very friendly and quick. They introduce the various options available before taking your order and give you plenty of time to decide. Ambiance: The store was clean and pleasant. It wasn’t noisy at all.

The seasonal salad with peaches was so good that I couldn’t take a picture before devouring it. The cashier was very friendly and the place is very cute. Highly recommend.

I love Mendocino farms when I'm in town but a special shout out to Eddie O. The service received was exceptional service I've received in a long time and he went above and beyond. Great recommendations and food as well!

11/10 recommended. I had a work lunch meeting today here at Mendocino farms and was absolutely blown away. There were only four of us but can see that we could likely easily get up to a party of 10 or 12 of us with no issue in the space here. Maybe more. Really loved everything about the food and the staff and the facility here. Even the parking lot was plentiful and the easy to navigate and get a great spot. Walking in from my second row. Parking place, the big menus and people waiting to take your order right away was just great and it made the decision-making experience super easy. Medium sized indoor space with probably around 40 places to sit (about a dozen tables) but also another medium-sized outdoor space with an equal amount of chairs and a bar space that was really comfortable to get up into a stool and sit at even as a big guy. I'd even like to highlight the bathrooms here with it being a gender-neutral bathroom on the left. Just pleasantly surprised all along with how clean and great everything was. Now let's talk about the food.... WOW. Today I ordered the half sandwich side dish combo with the turkey, bacon, avocado Club and curry couscous. I could not get enough and raved about the couscous to my coworkers. I got some of the passion iced tea here and fell in love. Paid me. Think about getting sun tea that mom made in the summertime with a little bit of fruit in it for just the right small amount of natural sweetness. As we wrapped up my work meeting I was thinking my wife would really love something here if I brought her home a dish. I ended up getting another half sandwich side dish combo to go as well with the Chicken pesto caprese sandwich, the curry couscous again, and a cup of the Lemon Chicken & Farro Soup. Even after almost an hour drive home, my wife raved about the meal. Right sized portions and incredible taste across the board. I'll plan on making this place one of my regular spots going forward. The food was great and the service was amazing. Friendly staff, Fellipe, who helped me decide on the chimichurri steak and Joselyn, who brought me my food. (Thought I was going to have to go get it lol). As well as the whole staff who made my incredibly tasty sandwich. The prices are also very resonable. Which kinda suprised me with how nice the place was. The only thing i though they got me on was the drink, but once I realized there was freshly squeezed vegetable juice, I was sold. Very much reccomeneded if you need some clean food with out sacrificing taste.

Mendocino Farms is grade A quality ingredients. love their cous cous and pasta salads so delicious! the chicken pesto and turkey sandwiches were more dry than I like, some dressing would have been nice. they do catering style portions perfect for your next celebration.

I truly love their sandwiches. The "Not so Fried" sandwich is my favorite. Mendocino Farms makes it perfectly. The chicken is crispy but not greasy. When you dip it into the tangy mustard barbeque sauce, you will taste the most delightful flavor. Additionally, if you like pickled red onions and mustard pickle slaw, you'll really enjoy it in this sandwich. The texture, the flavor, and the crunch are everything.

I have been to other locations before but this location was really nice. My friends and I came here to find a study spot to lock in for our finals and we realized that this place had outlets! It was perfect because there were plenty of seats available and the food here was amazing (as usual). I got the Thai Mango Salad and although it was a little pricier, I thought it was pretty worth it. The sauce was sweet with a sprinkle of tanginess. The addition of peanuts and cilantro really ties together the salad. Being in the same plaza as the Melt, I thought this place would take TritonCash but they do not.

I love the Caesar salad. Has it delivered so I did not see the store inside. I will definitely order from them again!

Friendly service, clean and tidy, our food was prepared quickly and with fresh ingredients. It was a wonderful experience! My favorite go-to item is the avocado quinoa which I order on repeat because it's that good! It's filling, delicious and nutritious.

Mendocino Farms is a great spot for a casual lunch with a variety of sandwiches, soups and salads. The menu accommodates gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets. The wait is sometimes long for to go orders but overall this is a solid consistent restaurant with fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations. Portion sizes for the sides are a little small relative to the price.

I'm definitely not big on typical sandwiches being raised on a lot of home cooked meals. However, I do enjoy a warm sandwich made with "home cooked elements". This is my second visit to a Mendocino farms. The location is simply decorated with indoor and outdoor seating. I attended with my husband and friend. He ordered the pork bahn mi, I ordered the chimichurri steak sandwich and our friend ordered a chicken pesto sandwich. All are made fresh to order and honestly looked delicious as each of us unwrapped them. Service was great from the cashier to the employees calling our order names and handing them over to those dining in and with to go orders.

Came here for lunch; I ordered the 1/2 sandwich combo that includes a half of a select menu of sandwiches and a side. I chose the turkey avo salsa verde sandwich and the seasonal chickpea salad. The portion sizes for both are filling. I do wish there was more turkey in the sandwich and the kale in the chickpea salad seemed very wilt-y, like it wasn't made fresh that morning. Location is in a busy strip mall but lots of parking. There is inside and outside seating as well.

Amazing food and great ambient. I am so said they removed the pork belly bahmi sandwich, but still great options in the menu. One of the employee Felipe T. was really helpful and made the experience even better

I came here for dinner and after waiting a while for my food, seeing multiple people who came in after me get their food first, I decided to see why my food wasn't coming out. I spoke with Lucy who informed me my order might have been taken by accident. She quickly rushed out my order and jumped in to the kitchen to make the food, which surprised me because I thought the team at the front stayed at the front. She got my food out quickly, was very apologetic for the mix up, and gave me some coupons for the mistake. Thank you for the excellent service!

I would give this place a 3.5/5 stars but since that isn't an option I'm rounding up to 4. Mendocino farms is most well known for their sandwiches and I tried two. I tried the chicken parm dip and Peruvian steak sandwiches. They were both good. They filled me up and I felt good after eating as they used pretty fresh ingredients. Would I come back? I don't think so. There's nothing about the sandwiches that "wowed" me. If anything, the interior of the restaurant was more impressive than the food. Other than that, the staff is really friendly and helped me pick out a sandwich based on my preferences. I recommend coming if you're looking for something quick and tasty.

Love it here. Great for when you want a healthier option for fast food. I highly recommend the thai mango salad. I'm not much of a "fruit in my salad" type of person, but whewww.. They do it right! For those with kiddos, swing by on Thursdays and take advantage of the free kid's meal (with purchase of an adult entree). Decent amount of indoor and outdoor seats. Service is always on point.

Stopped in for a quick lunch break while in La Jolla, located in the village and very convenient with plenty of parking in front and many other shops and restaurants around. pleasant atmosphere with both indoor or outdoor seating and complimentary water, clean restrooms and kind service. the flavor is consistent and portions respectable. nothing very exiting but you know what you get. they have their regular go to items along with a small seasonal or a changing menu for an added variety.

I love going here. My husband and I usually split a salad and a sandwich. The chimichurri steak & bacon sandwich is SO good! This summer I've been obsessed with the Sweet Peach & Goat Cheese Salad. (Mendo PR Team, if you're reading this, please keep this salad on the regular menu bc it was a summer seasonal hit!) The food is consistently great. You order at the counter and then find a seat. I love places like this for bigger groups. The staff is always friendly and my order has always been correct. What's not to love about tasty and fresh food?

First time having Mendocino Farms and tried the Turkey Avo Salsa Verde recommended by Fellipe! His customer service was lovely and very helpful in assisting with my sandwich choice! Which was so yummy & I totally recommend! Will definitely be returning! Thanks Fellipe & Corrine!

I go to several Mendocino's throughout the city depending on where I am..by far this is the most disorganized and slowest in terms of getting your food. Even when they're not busy. Poor management in this specific location. I like Mendocino's concept, food, quality..and convenience and most other locations are efficient. Definitely not this one.

This place is such an easy choice for lunch especially when you have a group of people ordering! Warning: if you decide to order around lunch time via DoorDash, expect to wait 1.5 hours for your lunch esp if it's a big order. I got the Sweet Heat Crispy Thai Chicken sandwich. It was sweet, had a little spice and the brioche was perfectly soft. It was a small sandwich so it wasn't that filling. The side of chips helped satisfy my hunger. Would order again!

Great food and drink selection! The chicken parm and potato salad was amazing and the pomegranate mint drink was great as well! Corrin went above and beyond to help and was very friendly! The cookies were the bomb as well as the bbq chips. Super fresh and tasty food honestly can't go wrong here

Great sandwiches. Great quality sandwiches. This location gets packed during lunch time. Took about 30 minutes before I got my food. Everyone that works around here comes here for lunch. Makes it quite busy. Recommend ordering online and picking up when it's super busy!

I love mendocino farms. Their chicken parm is what I dream about. I was in SD for a short amount of time and I got there chicken parm at least 7 times. I wanted to try other sandwiches but the chicken parm had a choke hold on me because I knew when I left california there would be no more mendocino farms. No matter if I ate it in the restaurant or took it for takeout or even cold it was delicious. This sandwich changed my life. I never understood the appeal of chicken parm till now. I am a mendocino farm enthusiast for life. To me, this is the greatest treasure San diego can offer. When you go to Mendocino farms, hear me when I say chicken parm is the order. I even put 2 other friends on the chicken parm train and of course they both LOVED it. Even if its a pricy sandwich, this was the best $13.75 I've continuosly spent.

This place is Sprouts on steroids. Sushi selection was decent for a grocery store but it was a bit stale. Some of the other items I bought were delicious. FYI- since it's in La Jolla, next to UCSD, parking and traffic can be a nightmare.

We came here a bit ago and I forgot to leave a review. But we ordered two sandwiches I honestly forgot which ones they were but they were absolutely terrible! They were so bad that I told myself I would never come back again to even try a different sandwich, that is how bad they were. They really dropped the ball on that one.

Came here on a Saturday. There was a line but it went quickly. There was both indoor and outdoor seating and the air was nice and cold indoors (it was a hot day). We ordered the kids cheddar quesadilla which was free because kidlet had a coupon from the library's summer reading program. It came with apples and a drink. I ordered the half turkey avocado salsa verde with the oaxacan potato salad. My husband ordered a sandwich that had peaches on it but when he went to bite into it, it had almonds so he just returned it rather than get a different sandwich. They were nice about the return. For drinks we tried the regular lemonade which was ok. That is what my husband drank. I drank the rose lemonade. I believe my husband tried tried the green drink but none of us tried the one with turmeric. Overall my sandwich was ok. It tasted fresh and dood but wasn't anything amazing. The potato salad was just bland. Kidlet did not like their cheese quesadilla and my husband tried it and agrees the taste was not good. It legit just looked like they put cheddar cheese slices on a tortilla. The apples tasted weird too. Am glad this meal was free. Overall a mediocre experience. I don't feel there is a good value for the money. The food is probably fresher and healthier than other options but not a place I will be able to convince my family to go to again. If I am alone and come here I want to try a salad.

Pleasantly generic for a Mendocino Farms, with a warm, lived-in feel that befits a very busy location. The covered patio, full of high-tops, feels simultaneously more and less worn than the inside, if that makes any sense. Service is solid, the single drink station and to-go pickup area, co-located across the main entry area with the register, can get a bit chaotic. The food is just like any Mendocino Farms, which is to say fresh and tasty, enough ethnic flair to not be generic American-- more than enjoyable enough if you can't decide where else to go for dinner.

My company ordered some food for delivery and since I've gotten their sandwiches before (which are always delicious), I decided to try a salad this time and I was not disappointed! I got the Pink Lady Beets & Goat Cheese Salad with no red onions. Since I don't like any salad dressings, it is very important to me that I have quality ingredients and good flavor when I order a salad. This did not disappoint at all! t was packed full of flavor and all the ingredients paired very nicely together. I was very happy with my choice. This place always delivers quality ingredients and food. It proves that healthy food can also taste good! Can't wait to stop by and try another new thing next time!

Mendocino Farm is one of my favorite spots for lunch. Their food is undoubtedly some of the freshest ingredients you can get. Their service is second to none. The aesthetics are clean, simple, and if "healthy" was an aesthetic, it would be that too. I've had a handful of item here and always enjoyed them. Their Italian Roast Beef is one of my favorites. It's got pickled sweet onions, which is different but a real nice touch. The roast beef is thinly sliced and very good. I love their toasted sesame roll too. I'm honestly not sure if it's home made, but it's really fresh. 2 Cons: Parking, and Price. Given the location, right next door to Nordstrom Rack and the mall, the parking sucks. It's really hard to get in and out of, especially on the weekend. And the prices, in my opinion, is pretty high. I want to say it's like at least $15 for a whole sandwich, and for $15, the portions are not that large. I still recommend this place, and I'll still continue eating here.

I used to go here all the time when I lived in SoCal. So I missed it and had to stop in on a recent trip. I'm sad they no longer have the "sophisticated chicken" salad. That was always my go-to but everything is so good here! And the portions are huge so the prices are not too bad. I will definitely next time I'm in town!

First time visiting Mendocino farms, really like the place overall, very clean, the chicken parm sandwich was amazing. Felipe T. Took my order and was really helpful and gave good tips on what to order, really made the experience better overall.

I've always loved Mendocino Farm's sandwiches, but recently, I've been addicted to the "Not So Fried Chicken" sandwich. This location specifically offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but it does get crowded at times, so if you're placing an order to-go, I would recommend that you place the order online ahead of time to minimize the amount of time that you spend waiting for your food, since service is a bit slow, especially during peak hours. Otherwise, great place for a sandwich/salad, whether for dine-in or to-go!

Wait time: I ordered online and it took about 20mins for it to be ready. One thing I would say is ask to make sure if your order is ready because my order wasn't at the designated pick up area but it was ready for pick up. Food: I ordered the Prosciutto & Chicken and The Farm Club. Prosciutto & Chicken: this sandwich was my favorite out of the 2. I really liked the honey roasted almonds and fresh mozzarella, it paired well with the prosciutto & chicken. The bread was also perfectly toasted and fluffy in the middle. This is a heavy sandwich compared to the Farm Club. So if you want something light and fresh, I would pick something else. The Farm Club: this sandwich is very fresh and light even with the bacon because of the mixed greens and avocados. The chicken was also very soft and flavorful. My only complaint is that the sandwich was alittle dry, I think it needed more mayo or aioli sauce, I am not exactly sure what they put but I would have preferred alittle more.

At first I was skeptical because of the smaller portion size for the 1/2 sandwich combo, but after the first few bites of the basil pesto shells and caprese sandwich I was sold! 1/2 Sandwich Combo Caprese sandwich with small side basil pesto shells ($11.80): I'm not even a big fan of cold pasta, but the basil pesto shells were so good! I don't even know where to begin with regards to the sandwich. The vinaigrette pairs perfectly with the mozzarella cheese, and the crispy panini-ed ciabatta contrasts the soft cheese/chicken texture! I love everything about this sandwich. Shoutout my cashier Lucy A. for the great customer service. I will definitely be coming back again :)

My order was ruined... I literally told the cashier I have a celiac allergy and I'm severely allergic to gluten and they messed up my order. I was really looking forward to the soup and eating a sandwich that I had no contamination but unfortunately that's not an option here. They gave me a sandwich that was not gluten-free at all in the same bag as my other sandwich. I just wanted to enjoy my meal. The worst part is I even tipped, so don't appreciate the lack of effort and service they provide here. Definitely would suggest to not tip at this place at all. Not to mention when I was waiting at the table for my order to be made, it was extremely filthy. If I could give zero stars, I would. Super disappointed and such a waste.

I've never been more disappointed that I don't live in San Diego because this is my newest obsession! The vibes are immaculate, while still being welcoming for children. Kids even eat FREE on Thursday which was a real treat for our family! The menu is filled with culinary wonders and everything we ate was phenomenal! We might come back every time we visit because it's so amazing!

I have been here more times than I can remember. It was my go-to for a nice meal in the La Jolla Village Plaza and still is when I'm in the area. The staff are friendly and the inside is full of cute cow decor. The prices aren't bad for the healthy but delicious sandwiches/soups/salads you'll find here. You can find the calories for menu items listed online as well as their macros. I've tried a lot of the stuff on the menu and here's what I recommend: - Sandwiches: The Peruvian Steak or the Sweet Heat Crispy Thai Chicken if you want some spice. - Salad: The Impossible Taco Salad tastes exactly like a ground chorizo taco somehow and I don't know what black magic they do in the kitchen to accomplish that. They also have rotating seasonal options, with my favorite being the Summer Street Corn with Chicken. This is the place to go for some quality bites!

Many healthy options to choose from, nice staff, and clean restaurant. The food is made to order which is always a plus. If you want healthy fresh options this is the place.

Dear Mendocino Farms, Long time fan. Addiction started with the sophisticated chicken & prosciutto salad bought from the downtown LA location (off Flower St.). For years, that's all I ordered because it had everything I love in a salad. Then one day, it went away and turmoil ensued. Is this some kind of twisted joke? Now what?! I took a deep breath and realized it was time to find my new addiction. I frantically searched the menu and found a couple replacements, but quite honestly, I still check the menu to see if my favorite dish will reappear. Sadly, it has not. I'm not knocking down the review stars because your food is delicious. I'm just screaming into the void at this point. I'm not bitter, you're bitter. THE FOODS | Sandwiches, salads, side dishes, and cookies. My current addiction... - Prosciutto & Chicken Sandwich | Includes fresh mozzarella, honey roasted almonds, basil pesto, balsamic glaze, and tomatoes all sandwiched in panini-pressed ciabatta bread. It's like the sophisticated chicken & prosciutto salad, but in sandwich form and less vegetables. Herby, fresh with a bit of prosciutto saltiness and almond crunchiness; the flavors and textures merry up in an unusual but comforting way. Like I said, this is my current addiction. THE MENDOCINO FARMS FEELS | Bright, clean, and cheerful vibes. The dining hall inside is small but you want to sit outside where the patio is larger. THE PARKING SITUATION | Parking is available at the front but during lunch hours, those spots are typically occupied. You'll have better luck finding a spot further away. Parking is free. THE ORDERING LOGISTICS | Lunch lines are long at this location (and every other location). I highly recommend ordering ahead of time through their app and picking up from the store. There are designated parking spots at the front, specifically for guests who ordered for pick up.

Used their delivery service from their website. It worked out quite well. Everyone was satisfied with their sandwiches and salads. I like the Mary's Not So Fried Chicken. Boss seemed to like the steak and bacon chimichurri sandwich.

Superb. In my mind, Mendocino has become synonymous with high quality food at a decent price. Convenient too. Most recently, I stopped by before seeing a movie. Looking for a quick, healthy, fresh bite, I stopped by for a half sandwich with side combo. The classic curry couscous and not-so-fried chicken hit the spot. Amazing textures and flavors. Service from Elber was super friendly. Interior was clean and modern. Can't go wrong!

I went to UCSD so I frequented Mendocino quite a few times. I've tried most of their salads and sandwiches, my favorites between the not-so-fried chicken sandwich and the vegan banh mi. Their selections are pretty healthy, if you want something light this is the place to go. But I would say their things are pretty overpriced considering how cheap salads and sandwiches are. Would not recommend getting their salad or soup sides though! Those portions are SO small. Also I once got catering from them and they got the order wrong. We were given two vegan capreses instead of two chimichurri steak & bacon sandwiches. I contacted the catering staff via email but never got a response. Would go again because I live in La Jolla and because it's really convenient. It's the perfect beach picnic food.
