Second time coming here over the last 2 years of visiting. First time was better, this time was mid. The shoyu (basic) ramen was waaaaaay too salty, although tasty and yummy. The curry chicken was too spicy and also quite salty! There was a lot of bean sprouts mixed into the noodles, so it feels like you get less noodles versus the other bowls. They do have a policy that it is one order per person at least. So order appetizers if you can’t finish one bowl. They are generous portions. Service amazing and friendly.

Google
Spacious spot for ramens with a wide variety of options including spicy and curry ramens. Do note the curry ramen is very filling and can be rather hearty so I would prefer it on a cooler day. Service is attentive and helpful.

Google
This is one of my favorite ramen spots in the city! The food is always top-notch, and the service is consistently excellent. The ramen here is truly some of the best I’ve had—flavorful, rich, and comforting. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying ramen experience! And thank you Yumi you are so friendly

Google
A terrible ramen experience. While it had spices, the dish was supposed to include ground beef pieces in the soup but what I got were just lumps of fat, not actual meat. Highly unappetizing. I wouldn’t recommend it. It lacks key elements that make a good ramen. The broth becomes thick and difficult to digest as you eat. I wouldn’t go back. Friendly service and cool setup of tables.

Google
This place is a hidden gem amongst the large number of ramen spots in lower Manhattan. Their style is a nice change of pace from the very carefully crafted tonkotsu bowls that are popular. Seems like they fire everything in a wok and deglaze it with the broth and chosen tare. It's then dumped on a thicker curly yellow noodle to create a giant hot, thick, and delicious mess. The servers are very friendly and accommodating.

Most authentic ramen I’ve had in NYC! Affordable and extremely filling. Gets busy once it opens so get there at noon

Google
This is a small cozy ramen place with 4-5 benches in the seating area. They serve delicious ramen bowls and each category tastes different and unique. The noodles are also very tasty and definitely recommended on a cold winter night. This is a walk in or a take out type of restaurant.

Google
A great ramen place with a very large collection of Ramen options, that reminded us of Ramen places we went to in Japan. Full of flavor that is not over powering piping hot and perfect noodles, all in a busy Japanese restaurant like ambience. Definitely recommend. Apart from the classic tonkotsu, shoyu, miso ramen they also have curry ramen, tan tan men, soba etc. Prices per bowl are around $20 and they also have a bunch of rice dishes, appetizers and drinks. We had the limited edition shoyu and curry tan tan men and both were great.

Yelp
This spot hit my ramen craving SO good. We got Spicy Miso, Tan Tan Men, and Hokkaido Zangi. The restaurant is small but effective, and the service is so kind and welcoming. Definitely adds to the warmth and coziness of the ramen they serve. Spicy Miso - so good, and the broth is rich and has so much depth. The noodles are chewy and absorb the broth just the right amount without being soggy. Caveat, the dish came with ground pork, but just one slice of pork belly. The dish isn't spicy, but I do have a pretty high spice tolerance. While the ramen was exactly what I wanted, I definitely felt like it was tooo salty halfway through. The portion was big, so the leftovers hit just the same and were perfect the next day. Tan Tan Men - my boyfriend got this dish & it was also so tasty. Not like other ramens I've had, in a unique way! The broth was much thicker, and slightly creamy. A bit too salty for my own preference, but was a great dish to try and my boyfriend loved it. Hokkaido Zangi - my GOODNESS this was good fried chicken. The dish came with 5 chicken thighs which were moist, crispy, juicy & oh so flavorful. It is $17, but I would get it again & again! We totally dipped it in our broth and it was GOOD. Definitely stop by, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Very unassuming store-front that makes it feel like a hidden gem if you stumble upon it. The food was honestly great to have and portions were satisfying. It's usually a pretty busy spot. There's a coat rack to your left when you enter but otherwise hold on tight to your belongings. Their fried chicken is a must try if you like karage. Their meaty pieces have a wonderful crispy layer on the outside that you can soak in their sauce adding a citrusy tang. Sprinkle some chili powder for that extra kick. Rip it into smaller chunks for an easier time biting or just take a big old bite like its a drumstick. The meat was tender and not dry so it was cooked well! Shoyu Pork Ramen: The broth hit me immediately with a deep umami flavor that slowly feels richer as you sip it. There isn't just the added notes of garnishes, you can physically have them as there are generous amounts of green onion and garlic mixed in. There's also the flavor of bamboo shoots that occasionally enters the broth but it all comes together really nicely. The ramen noodles were on the firmer and stringier side for those who enjoy that texture. I personally don't feel like it soaks the flavors of the broth enough and like my noodles a bit chewier. The chasu wasn't melt in your mouth soft but still very soft and marinated well. Curry Tsukemen: The curry tsukemen is a limited time thing on the menu apparently so we gave it a try. The curry hugs your mouth with a light warm that slowly grows stronger. I'm not great with spice but I think with a bit of water I could slowly manage it but a great idea would be to dip the fried chicken in this broth.

Yelp
Walked past here and came in on a whim and I'm glad we did! Both the Shoyu ramen & Miso ramen were delicious and I'm still thinking about them the next day. My only complaint is that I wish I had thought to order an egg! Other than that, there was a good amount of toppings, and it was super filling. My friend that came with me is Japanese and he loved the ramen and said the whole place was very authentic. Everyone working was super kind and always had smiles on their faces. Good vibes and the playlist was awesome. I'll be back! Update: I thought about this place every day for a month until I came back. New fav ramen spot in the city!!

Yelp
I passed this spot while visiting NYC for the day, and I'm so glad I did! Sitting in Menkoi Sato feels like you've been transported to Japan; the interior design is simple, and long tables with set stools fill the small space, making for an intimate experience perfect for date nights and outings with friend. My group tried both the Spicy and Classic Shoyu, and the quality of the ramen genuinely matched up to ones I've had in Japan. The spice wasn't insanely spicy, but it was super flavorful and for spice lovers it really elevates the dish. The eggs were perfectly jammy, and the broth was rich without being fatty. This is a legitimate ramen spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!

Yelp
Went here on a brisk day and it was the perfect meal to warm us up. I ordered the spicy shoyu and my friends got the spicy miso, the shoyu and the chicken miso. The spicy shoyu was mildly spicy (as they specify on their menu that their spicy broths are not super spicy) and a very generous portion of noodles. I really liked the long stalks of uncut bamboo shoot and the charsu but I do wish that the was more of it. All the broths were tasty and overall the ramen was pretty standard and comparable to other places I've been to. (6/10) The place is unsuspecting but definitely worth a try! I would recommend to anyone in the area looking to escape the cold with a homey bowl of ramen.

Yelp
Really good affordable ramen shop. Everything well made. Flavorful and authentic. Recommend as a ramen shop

Yelp
The ramen here is super good. I'm not usually a fan of ramen, but I was really impressed with the Miso Pork Ramen. The portions are great, and the broth is very well made. I enjoyed the fried chicken as an appetizer too -- the chicken was crispy on the outside, but soft and juicy on the inside. I would recommend coming here and trying these items. The inside seating is on the smaller size, but feels cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we came (9pm), there was no wait to get seated.

Yelp
Made a return last night after a few years and i think this just isn't my style of ramen. The noodles are chewy but the broth and flavors just don't quite satisfy. There's some bit of umami missing that just salt and shoyu don't quite make up for. I did like the ground pork and pork piece (I thought it was better than a lot of cha shu ive had) but the egg was overcooked and mealy when I bit in. Overall an okay experience but not as good as I'd hoped.

Yelp
A friend and I walked in on a Friday night around 7pm and there was plenty of seating available. One of the hosts was very kind and the other was extremely rude. Our third friend got stuck in the subway so we asked if we could order drinks/apps in the meantime while waiting to order our ramen - he yelled at us and said we were taking up seats from people waiting. There was no one waiting and we offered to get up in case there was another group of 3 waiting to which he replied "no one's waiting yet but you're holding up the third seat in case someone comes". Despite asking to place an appetizer and drink order, he shrugged and walked away. Even when we were ready to place all 3 ramen orders (our friend texted us her order), he stayed upset and continued to use an angry tone. About 10 minutes later, our friend joined us and we waited another 10-15 minutes before the ramen was even ready. Now the ramen and food (fried chicken) were great! Unfortunately the service was not so we probably wouldn't come back to dine in person, maybe for to-go. Either way, it's a good no-frills spot when you don't have a reservation somewhere and the ramen is actually decent.

Yelp
The spicy miso ramen is a favorite of mine! Definitely get it cold in the summer and it's a wonderful refreshing bowl. The wavy noodles are perfectly chewy. The server offered to give me a bib to wear over my white shirt and I was able to successfully avoid soup splatters. Will definitely be back! A great option in WV if you're trying to eat without a wait.

Yelp
Omg. The tantanmen ramen was SO good. I will go as far to say that it was the best ramen I ever had. It's a small and cozy space with communal seating. The waitress was nice and helped me pick between the shoyu and the tan tan. The wait wasn't bad on a rainy Saturday around 4pm. Me and a friend sat at the bar after about waiting 15 mins. But I got a little concerned when I walked out and saw the C rating. But honestly... I'll be back
google avatar

Yelp
I normally order a spicy miso ramen, but my stomach wanted something gentler this evening and I am so glad I ordered the regular pork miso. This is a very distinctive broth. It has a very unique underlying flavor... almost a musk - a little sour or rotten but in a sensual way like a good ripe cheese or body odor. Almost a bad thing, but one you can't get enough of. I can already tell other broths will feel lacking without it. Also the fried chicken is excellent. Really like essence of chicken. Like they distilled chicken flavor and injected into the chicken So it takes more like chicken than chicken itself.

Yelp
Dive ramen bar with delicious food. We waited about 20 minutes for two seats to open up (though the host seemed a bit confused about who was first in line since everyone waited outside), and we ordered the Hokkaido fried chicken to share as an appetizer. The pieces were much bigger than we expected and cooked to perfection. We had the spicy shoyu ramen and the tan tan ramen, with eggs as an add-on. I personally preferred the spicy shoyu and found the tan tan a little too creamy for my taste, though both dishes were very good and generous. I'd definitely come back on another cold rainy day for another delicious bowl.

Yelp
Came by for a cute solo dinner. There's plenty of bar seating so if you swing by on your own you'll get seated relatively quickly (came at Friday around 8pm) and there's plenty of space. In my search for NYC's best ramen, this is definitely worth hitting up. What I liked was that the noodles were wavy, which is my prefered texture. The chashu certainly did crumble, and was solid. The broth was rich and bold, and overall was pretty happy with this bowl of ramen. Was it the best ramen in NYC? Maybe not but it was very far from being the worst. It's a great, even excellent bowl of ramen in the competitive ramen landscape of the city. Would I come back? Absolutely. Other people were also getting the kara-age and I unfortunately couldn't fit that in me but it looked amazing, and it was huge! Will get next time I return. Good job Menkoi Sato - keep it up!

Yelp
Menkai Sato is a hole-in-the-wall, easy-going ramen spot at the heart of West Village that specializes in ramen. We came here to initially have some ramen, as soon as we were seated our eyes caught the fried chicken and their special fried rice as appetizers. When the 2 dishes came out, it was humongous, and started stuffing ourselves with food that ordering ramen looks unnecessary. The fried chicken and fried rice are delicious with friendly staff and efficient customer service. They gave us a reason to come back and try their ramen sometime soon. Update: We did come back and tried their Shoyu signature ramen with chicken broth, ground pork, and cha-siu pork. It was delicious and silky a perfect meal on a chilly day.

Yelp
Maybe one of the only top ramen places in the city where you don't have to wait forever to get in. Came with three people during peak dinner time and was happy to get a table immediately. I will say that the service though was quite slow as we waited almost 30 minutes after we put in our order to get served. I ordered the Spicy Shoyu and it was honestly pretty spicy. I think the star of the dish has to be the pork and for that alone, I will give this ramen place a 5 star. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth consistency and it honestly reminded me so much of what you would get at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Unfortunately, they give you only one piece. The soup base was pretty good as it was incredibly rich. I wish they didn't use packet noodles but made it in-house as well as having an egg in the dish. It was still a delicious bowl and contender for one of the top ramen places in the city. Overall, very happy with my ramen. Definitely come just for the chasu!
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
I ordered the Shoyu ramen, overall the ramen was alright. I preferred these thicker noodles, but the broth was more on the saltier end. The first bite was great, but as I kept eating, my mouth was getting dry. Despite this, the service was great and the server was kind!

Yelp
Overall: I went here on a weeknight with my girlfriend. My girlfriend has declared this her favorite ramen spot ever. There's usually a bit of a line to be seated, but we got a little bit lucky and were seated immediately. The food is delicious and the service is quick and energetic. I like to go for takeout or weeknight meals to avoid the line, but I'd wait a bit for this regardless. Food: 5 Drinks: 2 Service: 4 Value: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Food: The ramen was fantastic. I got the Spicy Shoyu ramen and my girlfriend go the Spicy Miso ramen. I added the Kaedama and she got an extra egg. I thought the "spicy" version was hotter than advertised, but still good. Probably not for someone who is sensitive, but I liked it. They do have a "very spicy" option, but must be special requested. The dishes themselves had a good quantity of noodles and lots of meat and other toppings. I wish they would substitute more of the katsu pork for some of the ground meat mixed into the broth, but overall still very good. Drinks: The drink menu was pretty limited. They had two beers, a few types of sake, and some wine. It was fine, but nothing special. Service: It appears the the entire restaurant was served by two people, but they were very quick and attentive. Our dishes came out at different times which was less than ideal, but overall the service was fast and helpful. Value: Each of our ramen dishes were $20 for an enormous bowl. My girlfriend added an Ajitama egg for $2.50 and I got the Kaedama (extra serving of noodles) for $3.50. The Kaedama is a great deal - it basically doubles the size of your dish. The prices have made this a go to place for us for a lazy takeout meal. Atmosphere: The restaurant is quite cramped with several cafeteria style shared tables. Everyone is seated close to each other and I wish there was slightly more space, but overall it worked. The staff was energetic and everyone was served quickly, which made it feel pretty authentic.

Yelp
Best ramen in town- also excellent curry chicken and their fried chicken is super friendly service staff and chefs- favorite local place

Yelp
Convenient, quick turnaround, no frills, lots of college students & people in their 20s dine here. The ramen here is not bad and a bit on the saltier side. This place isn't a spot I'd return to on my regular rotation. They take card.

Yelp
+.5 for service I had really high hopes for this place. Like really, really, really high hopes. My friends who live in NYC have increasingly raved about here in the past year, and I finally had a chance to dine here in a visit back in August. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, around 12:30 on a Sunday. Service throughout was consistently excellent, and I found it amusing that the restaurant has bibs for those who may be ordering spicy broths and don't want to get their clothing dirty. I had the shoyu ramen, which is their signature bowl. It was good! Reasonable portions, some pork fat, scallions, and thick, twisty ramen. What I highly recommend though is their chicken karaage/fried chicken. Their pieces are huge, juicy, and are an excellent appetizer for your ramen bowl. I've been to a lot of ramen places in my visits to NYC. This one's probably in the top 3 for me.
google avatar

Sebastian G.

Yelp
Excellent service, great interior. 2nd best Ramen I have ever had in the USA. Their broths are chicken-based with little chunks of pork fat, so it is a lot lighter than a tonkotsu broth. A must-have visit for ramen fans in NYC!

Yelp
food so good it ruined my life. service so prefect i felt like i was at home. hung my coat up and went on my merry way eating the most delicious bowl of ramen the whole table stopped speaking until the food was gone. knew they would be good the moment i saw the moshi moshi yuzu in the fridge.

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.0 Umm my friend recommended this place and I wanted to go for a while. I was very hopeful when there were a few people waiting outside before it opened. But the ramen just didn't hit for me. It was lackluster. I had the shoyu ramen & for $20 I was expecting it to be absolutely amazing. Maybe I had too high expectations. Given the many options, this just wasn't for me.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Came on a weekend for lunch and the place was pretty empty so ramen was served quickly which was a plus. Shoyu ramen - 4/5. Noodles were perfectly cooked, broth was rich and flavorful. I like how they added both green onions and white onions. The hard boiled egg wasn't very flavorful, so I wouldn't order the add-on again. Cold Spicy Miso 3/5 - a summertime special, wasn't a big fan. The noodles didn't hold the broth flavor well and the broth wasn't as balanced as the shoyu ramen. I'm going to stick with the hot noodles next time.

Yelp
Amazing ramen joint in NYC. Extensive menu of diverse options including vegetarian and vegan. Limited curry options as well! Friendly staff, food is served fast, and prices are reasonable. My curry ramen was amazing. Many other dishes that I want to come back for. Fun vibe with tables plus individual seats. I will be back, and recommend you check this place out as well!

Yelp
i'm actually not the biggest fan of japanese ramen and much prefer japanese curry, but this place HIT. pretty sure i got a spicy shoyu with flavorful broth and the best textured ramen noodles i've had in, well, forever. cute interior that's reminiscent of the ramen bars in japan and the owner(?) seemed to be the kindly japanese man who served us and who was so sweet! based on what i saw, it seemed like this place has quite a few long term customers that came often and knew the owner really well and that's always a good sign. give it a try!!!

Yelp
I came in here with a friend for early dinner. There was no wait and had enough seats around. Instead of the classic ramen, I ended up trying the aruba soba, which was quite delicious. The noodles were not soggy and had great texture; however, it was slightly salty for my taste. I do plan on coming back here for actual ramen though. The vibe was cozy. There were the bar seatings, a few small tables, and some picnic tables for larger parties. The restroom in the back was slightly inconvenient because right behind the door, I think there was the machine for putting in the order (maybe it was something else), but the servers were standing there a lot so it was hard to go in and out.

Yelp
Came into Menkoi Sato after a disappointing experience at a neighboring place. This place was AMAZING and totally turned the evening around. Our group came in during dinner time and it was busy, but the staff quickly turned around a table for us to sit. We decided to order fried chicken to start and each had a bowl of ramen as an entree. The chicken was really good, but when we put on the toppings it was served with, it was outstanding! The pieces are a little bit big, so we ended up pulling them apart into bite sized pieces which worked perfectly. It was served extremely hot, and I can't recommend it enough! I ordered the spicy miso ramen, and my friends ordered the spicy shoyu and the spicy tan tan special. All 3 were hot, umami, and delicious. My favorite of the 3 was the spicy miso, but you can't go wrong with any. I ordered extra noodles to-go with my left over broth, and they packaged it up nicely and even included some green onion and sesame seeds on the to go noodles. Highly recommend a visit!!

Yelp
At the suggestion of a dear friend, I got to experience Menkoi Sato for the first time this past week. Tucked away in a side street of the West Village, this restaurant has a bit of a throwback feel to it. Along one side is a long bar and on the other are several tables for communal seating that can fit about 4-5 people on either side. Wood is the overall decor texture of choice and it works nicely. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived and we were seated right away. The staff was very welcoming and there were smiles all around. My only criticism of the interior was the temperature. I swear it went up 10 degrees when I walked in. If it were freezing outside it wouldn't have been an issue, but it was about 60ish degrees outside so it felt uncomfortable to me (and they had their door open!). Let's get down to the food. I wound up having the Chicken Tan Tan Men (Soy sauce, miso, spice, sesame paste with chicken broth shredded cha-shu (pork), scallions, onions and sesame seeds). I added in Nori and a soft boiled egg to the dish. The broth was a bit thicker than your typical ramen dish but wow was it tasty! It was super savory and comforting. The noodles were cooked *perfectly* with a bit of bite. The egg was perfectly cooked and the nori added a nice, Earthy flavor to the mix. Service was great. I don't think 15 minutes passed between the time we ordered and our dishes arriving. From looking around at other tables, I think this level of service was consistent (at least for the time frame I was there). I loved my experience at Menkoi Sato and would happily go back any time to get my Ramen fix!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to try Abura Soba because it is so hard to find a place making this noodle in NY. For the first bite, it really did not have any taste for flavor which was confusing. They give you more sauces to add on the side, and it tasted better after adding their special vinegar. Also the meat inside is pretty salty which goes well with the noodle when you mix everything well. It was interesting but I probably won't order again. Their spicy ramen was not that great either. Liked the fried rice though. The server was nice but the food took quite long to come out because the place is pretty busy. It's a cute small place too so you will want to avoid going there during lunch/dinner time if you don't wanna wait to be seated.

Yelp
I hadn't really had authentic ramen before, but this was a great first! Absolutely delicious big bowls filled with flavorful noodley ramen goodness! Also the fried chicken appetizer was literally perfect. It's a no frills casual and cozy space suitable for small groups and solo diners. 4/5 stars because the server was a little rude, and they need to be more mindful of cleanliness on tables and during service. Otherwise, it's a solid ramen spot I'll likely go back to.

Yelp
Terrible, Welcoming service! I read so much of nice reviews here that was why I went on Sunday afternoon BUT! Please read what I want to tell you. It was only me walk in, I notice that only one waitress at that time and she was busy. I gave her over 15 minutes to come back to me. I didn't want to just take a table without she is seating me. While I was waiting nicely, a TRASHY couple customers came. They cut the line and bumped into me. The waitress didn't say anything and seemed to want to please them over me. I know lots of casual places but has better organize and good manner. Totally understand when it is a busy day but PLEASE, DO NOT IGNORE A SINGLE CUSTOMER!!! Great taste of food but terrible service? First come first served! And Please, pay attention to NEW customers when they walk in!
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Experience: 5/5 My party of 3 was able to walk in for dinner on a weekday. There are long communal tables and counter seats, so this is a good place for larger groups. I ordered the shoyu signature ramen. The noodles and broth were as expected, but the raw onion was a surprising add-in. The chashu itself was very tender, but not the cut of meat I expected (see attached picture).
google avatar

Carolyn W.

Yelp
Delicious ramen and excellence service! Menkoi Sato is situated on a more quiet street in West Village. We stumbled upon this unassuming spot after having some drinks nearby. The restaurant itself is fairly small with a few rows of communal-style / bar seating in a dim-lit environment. We came in on a Thursday night and were able to sit immediately. I tried the Hokkaido-Style Fried Chicken appetizer and Spicy Shoyu ramen. The chicken absolutely blew me away. It did not have too much breading like other fried chicken dishes I've had. It was perfectly crisp yet moist in every bite. The Spicy Shoyu ramen was delicious and full of flavor - I've never really had anything like it! It definitely had some kick to it which I enjoyed. One of my friends had the Spicy Miso Ramen which had a fantastic broth as well. Highly recommend this ramen spot if you're in the area!
google avatar

Hanny P.

Yelp
Came for the ramen on a high recommendation - the Sapporo style miso ramen was good, as was the cha mayo don (anything with chashu and kewpie wins in my book), but it was the 5 Hokkaido zangi that left me wanting more. The exquisitely crisped skin was the perfect wrapper to seal in all the juices of the tender meat inside - this chicken was fried to perfection. Perfection.

Yelp
This was my first time trying cold/summer ramen. Here at Menkoi Sato, it was delicious, and there was acute attention to detail. I also ordered fried chicken and this turned into a rare occasion where I took food to go since I couldn't finish it. A top-tier neighborhood spot with no pretension.
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
Small, no frills ramen place that, if you weren't looking, you could walk right by. BUT, that would be a mistake but this has some of the best ramen in the city. The broth is rich and deep and the noodles they use soak up the flavor so well. They also give you heaping portions of noodles which I haven't seen at other ramen spots. A few of the customers that came in seemed to be regulars and knew the employees really well, which is always a good sign.

Yelp
This is a great place to drop by for a quick bite. No fancy reservations, just come in and hope for a seat. We were a table of four but two of us were running late. The table began with an order of the fried chicken to start and it was huge, juicy, and crispy. When the other two came, we began with the ramen order. Since I had meat all day, I went for the vegetarian miso ramen. I was surprised their vegetarian option mainly consisted of green onions, bean sprouts, and no meat. I expected a little more variety of vegetables so this part was a bit disappointing. Adding nori on top would've assisted. Having said that, the vegetable broth was very flavorful. The other ramen was tasty and bountiful with pork, minced pork, chicken, etc.

Yelp
Both partner and I had diarrhoea after! We came in on a Friday evening, was greeted and quickly sat down. There was only 1 server (the owner?) in the restaurant so he was always in a huge rush! We couldn't finish our ordering before he walked away and had to try n get him again after. The food itself was delicious, quite different from the traditional ramen we've ate before - tried curry tan tan and spicy shoyo, but my bf and I have gone to the bathroom for 4/5 times since we left till the morning. Don't think that we'll come back again

Yelp
It was raining so my friend and I wanted something hot and soupy. We decided on ramen and wanted to check out Menkoi Sato. I got the miso ramen with ground chicken and an ajitama add-on. The noodles were cooked perfectly and retained great texture. Ajitama and bamboo shoots were all well-seasoned and delicious to eat on their own. Broth looked heavy, but wasn't too bad. It was rich in flavors and onion/garlic. Overall, I didn't have much expectations coming into Menkoi Sato, but I actually ended up really enjoying my ramen. I wish the staff would turn up the AC to make it more comfortable. I was sweating so much eating the ramen!

Yelp
Came on a Friday evening, it was super hectic. We were given a number written on a sticky note, and it was about 20 minutes wait. The one waiter and waitress were running back and forth, taking orders, handing out dishes, and cleaning, they probably can use some more help~ Food was impeccable. I have had many ramens in my life, but this supposedly simple miso ramen was over the top. To me, ramen is 90% about the soup, the soup in this ramen was very rich but not overly greasy. They were also very generous with the portion. Definitely come here with an empty stomach!

Yelp
Honestly was not too impressed with this place despite other reviews. It was a small place with tight bench style seating but it was busy and lively. The ramen itself was pricey and most options didn't seem to come with the standard ingredients and cost extra. The soup itself was very fatty, oily and thick that your throat hurts afterwards and you feel sluggish. The noodles were nice and thick so that was nice. The one slice of pork in the ramen was small and wasn't too memorable. Conditions in the restaurant weren't too sanitary and that was made evident when we saw the C rating and also one of the workers pouring ice into the cups using his bare hands. Because of that, we opted to buy a $5.50 bottle of yuzu to drink instead of the ice water that may have been contaminated by someone's bare hands after handling cash. 2 stars only cause we left feeling full...even though it might've been the super fatty soup...otherwise 1 star.

Yelp
Was craving Asian food for dinner in the West Village, so my options were limited. I knew there used to be a Singaporean place on Cornelia street so I decided to see what had replaced it. I saw Menkoi Sato and thought oh cool, an izakaya, that could be good and sat down. Only to found it it's actually a ramen shop. I ordered the curry chicken rice and my wife ordered the spicy miso. They were both very good. The rice is your standard Japanese curry, good but nothing special. The ramen however, that was all sorts of special. It's so full of flavor and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The server was one guy doing it all. Inside and outside seating, hosting, and busing tables. He was running around and still noticed to refill my water without being asked. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This place I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ppl to come AT ALL! We got in at 8:30 and ordered two ramens! just two ramens! We waited till 9:20pm and guess what? The boss said the ramens are still cooking! lol ! The couple that came in the same time as us , they already finished eating and left. And our ramen still cooking and not ready. And also ppl that came later than us , their food already on the table and they almost finish eating. wow! It's nothing to do with busy hour at all, it was they forgot to take our order and when we reminded the lady our order, she gave me attitude too. She told me that ramens are need at least 30 mins of cooking. Am I ordering sth special than other ppl? Very disappointed at this point !what a shame of their attitudes !!

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but overall food was too salty. What we ordered Karage chicken: I think this was the best part of the meal. Big pieces of chicken, flavorful and tender. My husband ordered: Spicy limited edition tan tan ramen with egg. It wasn't too spicy, just too salty. I ordered the Signature shoyu ramen with egg, the broth was overpowering. So I couldn't really taste the rest of the elements in the bowl. Too much sodium and garlic. I No reservations needed, as it wasn't busy at 7pm for dinner. We easily found a place for 5 people. Service was great, just broth too salty. I would pass on returning.

Yelp
To be honest I wasn't a fan. The minced texture just wasn't for me and I had to pay extra for the egg. Fatty pork and it kinda tasted like rubber I'm pretty sad with my meal but the people that work there are nice I wish them the best but I really wanted to p it this here

Yelp
Tried the Shoyu Ramen, it was really good. I usually don't like the thick soup so trying the lighter one. It's still thicker than the normal shoyu because there's more pork fat but I find it as a nice in between mix.
