Menya Musashi Review - Sawtelle Japantown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Menya Musashi is the first LA location of a big-deal Tokyo noodle shop, and it looks like any other ramen place on Sawtelle - some bar seats, a few tables, and a patio. But the tsukemen (dip ramen) they serve here is what stands out. Order it niten ichiryu style, and the noodles will come topped with pork belly, thin pork katsu, and a runny soft-boiled egg. The meat here is tender and the broth is thick, but not fatty or overpowering, like other soups we’ve tried nearby." - Brett Keating

Old style ramen restaurant with a counter for customers. After entry, there’s a vending machine on your left where you make your selection. Then get a seat at the counter or wait till someone leaves. Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait long. Customers finish and leave quickly. The food is tasty and the regular serving is more than enough to fill you up. Hungry customers can go for medium or large sizes. Recommend the dip ramen. You can get an additional bowl of dip but have to pay after the second.

Delicious al dente udon. I had the thick dipping sauce udon with deep fried pork. The cutlet is so yummy with a seasoned batter. I found the thick sauce a bit too salty for my personal preference. I may go with regular dipping sauce next time. English menu. Different amounts of udon choices to choose from, Generous portion on udon with just the regular size. Quick service. My family enjoyed it a lot.

The food was excellent, I went back in November of last year. But I remember the service was great, timely. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. Felt like a place locals use. You order through a kiosk that was only in Japanese, I was too embarrassed to ask for English menu. I felt the portion size was good, you can double the order of noodles if you want. It is a place I definitely plan to show my friends and family when we are in Japan.

14-15 counter seats, packed for dinner. Ordered at kiosk, waited in line, seated in ~10 mins. Noodles with a killer dipping sauce—loved every bite! 🍜🔥

The flavor of the tsukemen was amazing! One of the best tsukemen I've ever had, but the portions are HUGE and the fried toppings were a bit too oily.

Though not the best bowl I’ve ever had, I think this is something everyone should experience and it is still very good. I made the mistake of ordering the ramen though - don’t. Get the tsukemen. Otherwise, you’re attempting to wolf down the meat before it gets too soggy and that’s just unnecessary pressure. Ooh! Also, I was the only woman in the shop at the time and I was the only one given a pink glass. Coincidence or not? I have to return to find out... (and try the tsukemen so I can take my time)

The food is good but please beware of the portions, as they are abysmal. We ordered two plates, a ramen and a dipping noodles combo, and honestly, as a heavy eater myself, I couldn't even finish the bowl. If you're planning to come here, please be aware because you will need to be hungry to finish a plate by yourself. In terms of food, its good but not the best I've tried in the area.

Like it . Nice and tick. Very friendly and welcome staff, we were the last group of 4 arrive and they ready not rush us at all. For ladies, they give pink glasses . Cute !
