The 25 Best Restaurants & Bars In Madrid 2024 - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Vallehermoso Market is the perfect stop for picky eaters or anyone that needs a break from the avalanche of jamón. Vallehermoso offers things like poke bowls, burgers, ceviche, and pizza, but still retains the old-school look and feel of Madrid’s historic food markets. Shop for lean cuts of Toledo pork at Carnicería Antonio or Rioja tomatoes from the Frutería Torijano y Varas stands to bring back to your Airbnb, spend a whole afternoon tasting Asturian sidra at the Drakkar stall, go to town on Korean spare ribs at Kitchen 154, or have a tasting menu meal at Tripea." - Lori Zaino

9 Best Markets in Madrid | Condé Nast Traveler

"One thing food-obsessed Madrileños know is that the city's culinary polestar has shifted north to the neighborhood of Chamberí. That's thanks, in large part, to Mercado de Vallehermoso, whose once-defunct stalls are now occupied by young, head-turning chefs who aren't afraid to experiment. Follow your nose, and you might end up at Graciana, an Argentinian empanada stand, or Di Buono, an Italian cubby-hole that serves pinsa, an ancient Roman flatbread with a feather-light crust. But you'll need a reservation to experience the market's gastronomic crown jewel, Tripea, the Chifa (Peruvian–Asian fusion) tasting-menu-only restaurant with a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation." - Benjamin Kemper

Google
Possibly the best mercado in Madrid, if you like the non-touristy atmosphere. We came in the middle of the afternoon, just before the shops closed down for siesta. Missed the fruit shop by a few minutes. The food selectaion was amazing: Craft 19, Biang Biang Noodles. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Excellent market with food stalls on the outside and veggie/fish/meat vendors on the inside. Lots of asian food and others are creative, not much spanish food. Very local, not like San Miguel that is super packed, but still get there on the early side. 30min walk from Gran Via.

One of my favorite markets in Madrid. Great food and wine. More ethnic cuisine options than the other markets. From sushi, taki, Chinese thick fresh made noodles, Italian fare.. also has a micro brewery. Great food and people all around.

More food court than market, there's some really great optiks here. Craft 19 makes great burgers and pastrami sandwiches and has multiple craft beers on tap from breweries like Oso and Basqueland. Superb!

I went to this market twice during my visit to Spain, great selection of food, vibrant. On the Friday, it was very busy and because we were a large group it was difficult to find a place to sit, however, we were allowed to sit in one of the places even though some of us had food from other stalls. We went again on a Wednesday and it was quieter.

Definitely the best market we went to in Madrid. Not too expensive or touristy. The food and drink choices were excellent.

We had delicious escargot and poke! I highly recommend to try them ❤️ The only one thing, I wish Google said that most of the places are open at 2.30pm. We came at 12.30 to get smth to eat, and Some places were still closed, but we managed to find tasty food

This place is amazing!!! Great food great prices. Ambience is just perfect The people are all smiling and giggling. Food?!! : got to try a little of everything. There’s a place right by the entrance that sells empanadas they are just delicious try the spicy lamb. Some places got homemade beers and they even have on site a Michelin star restaurant. They also are a market place. Fresh stuff. I had a great experience. You probably heard of “Mercado San Miguel “. Well it’s kind of the same but everything has a homemade ambiance. It’s like a small town festival.

Yelp
One of my all-time favorite dishes is Veal Milanese, love to make it, order it and, most of all, EAT IT! During our visit to Madrid we went to the Mercado de Valle Hermoso and had one at Mila&Co and let me tell you it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Sure, you can have good Veal Milanese in many places nowadays (and I'll even admit that I make a pretty fantastic one myself at home), buuuut what makes this place stand out are the toppings. We ordered the "Cremosa" topped with melted brie cheese, nuts and a sweet honey glaze and it was soooo good. You've just gotta try it! I'm already dreaming of going back to Madrid to have a taste of the "Del Bosque" which sounds incredibly promising with melted Emmental and mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms and truffle oil. If you're visiting Madrid or if you live there and haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?! Go check it out!!
