"If it’s summer in Seattle, you probably have rooftop tostadas and margaritas on the brain. And Mezcaleria Oaxaca is the cool taqueria that just read your mind. With handmade tortillas, an encyclopedic selection of mezcal, an interior that’s just as cool as the roof, a killer pork mole, and a great view of the Cap Hill sunset, we could weep. But we won’t, because nothing ruins a good time like the guy who’s crying into the guacamole." - Aimee Rizzo
"The rooftop at this Mexican spot on Capitol Hill—called Patio Cielo—is one of the most fun places to be on a Friday night. This is mainly because the entire area is 21+, so you don’t have to worry about strangers’ children throwing wet crayons across the room. Instead, you’ll find grown adults drinking margaritas and sangria among long picnic tables, a more loungey area toward the edge of the roof, and a taco trailer that someone managed to haul up there. Stop by the trailer for some chips and guacamole, and repeat until summer is over." - aimee rizzo
"Queen Anne's slice of a restaurant was the original, and its still worth a visit under its new name El Mezcalito. But this Capitol Hill restaurant (now under separate ownership) is much larger, with a huge bar, beautiful decor, and open rooftop where diners can savor an impressive selection of smoky mezcal-based cocktails while sampling complex Oaxacan moles and dishes like camerones a la diabla and whole fried fish." - Harry Cheadle, Charlie Lahud-Zahner, Eater Staff
"Mercado Luna is a Capitol Hill destination that houses a few different Oaxacan dining experiences, including Patio Cielo, a patio in the sky. It’s open only during spring and summer, dogs are welcome (though not kids), and there are no reservations — a combination that makes it an exceedingly chill place to watch a summer Friday slide by." - Eater Staff
