I visited after 6 pm, so I missed the chance to try the coffee, but I did get the pistachio tiramisu—it was delicious! I also had the chocolate-filled crackers (three pieces), which were a nice treat. I was really impressed by the welcoming hospitality and the cozy vibe of the store. I’ll definitely go back to try the coffee and croissants next time.

Google
A really beautiful coffee and special with their tiramisu coffee. It’s not sweet like other places so if you like sweet, don’t order that. But to me, perfectly taste. Highly recommended if you want to try an Italian Tiramisu Coffee Style. Also, I love there decorating with the Olive tree in the middle of the shop.

Google
The perfect Italy-like coffee & market in HTX! This cute coffee shop literally takes you to Italy! The staff is kind and attentive, their back patio is the cutest and they have a 1940’s meat slicer that works like a charm! You can even see them using to slice the prosciutto for your panini. They have coffees, teas, lemonades and even wine! And their food selection is salads and delicious sandwiches. All the food feels and tastes so fresh and the way they care about presentation and flavor is amazing. They have parking in the back and you can come in through their cute back patio. Be prepared to find goods straight from Italy, like pasta, sauces, olives, marmalades, olive oil and wines! Their wine selection is impressive, only good wines you will find here. They also have pastries, specially croissants, filled with delicious chocolate or pistachio cream. Oh! And yes they have gelato! Definitely a coffee shop you must visit!

Google
Nice place, loved the menu options, good croissants, the coffee was a 4/5 but atmosphere and shopping goodies was a 5/5. Would like to try the Gelato soon. You can take it home in the frozen case. They are small cup sizes.

Google
They were probably the sweetest staff I've encountered at a coffee shop in a while. My boyfriend got the tiramisu latte and slurped it up so quick I can only assume he loved it. I got a latte with oat milk, and a gluten free almond muffin and it was scrumptious!

I was really excited to visit Marcato and Company in Houston after hearing so much hype about their tiramisu latte but unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing due to the rude customer service. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. I was physically pushed by waitstaff, and when I asked the barista a simple question about the drink presentation (just asking if she could add the cocoa shavings on top so I could record it), she looked at me like I wasn’t even speaking English. What really shocked me was when she laughed at me with a coworker right after. That moment made me feel like an outsider, and it was honestly humiliating. Aside from that, the café itself is cute. It’s got a lovely Italian-inspired setup, and they sell a variety of health-focused to-go items. There’s also a charming backyard seating area and a big tree feature in the center that gives it a cozy vibe. The tiramisu latte? Mid at best. It was bland, lacked sweetener, and not worth the $8 price tag. Presentation was nice but that doesn’t make up for how I was treated. As someone who drinks coffee daily and was looking for a regular spot, I won’t be returning. A beautiful space doesn’t matter when the people working there make you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Google
Idk where to began .. the coffee/deli is absolutely great and the space is really neat. What snatched my interest the most was the really really good wine selection by the bottle they had. Aden whom I believe is the manager is very knowledgeable about the bottles for purchase .. feels like a little piece of Italy 🇮🇹 when in there!

Had a delightful experience at Mercato and Co. We were excited to see Ella Coffee has a store front! We used to go to her during our walks on thr bayou with our daughter and she was always so kind and friendly. You see how this energy has extended to the staff that works at Mercato. Everyone is kind. Anita, the supervisor, is like the mom of the spot, taking time to check in and greet everyone with a smile. Look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Such a cute little market with yummy coffee. I tried the tiramisu latte and it was great. There is limited seating though but not bad if you want to hang out or work. The drinks came out fast and the workers were nice. There is also a lot of natural lighting inside which is nice.

Yelp
3.5 stars, the food is okay, but very cute ambiance outside The sandwiches fell flat for us- they were a-okay, but kind of plain/felt like they were missing something. On that note my kids loved the ham and mozzarella mini rolls. My favorite sandwich was the Parma. The coffee is tasty. Would return for the vibes.

Yelp
Love this little spot in WestU. They have a boutique grocery store inside the cafe and the atmosphere and decor transports you to european destination. The back patio is a nice, casual spot to enjoy a latte, lunch, or a bottle a wine. The tiramisu latte is flavorful, sweet and creamy (exactly what you'd expect). The cafe is a little pricey but it is well worth it. If you wanted grab a go I would probably pick a different spot or even starbucks but if you want to transported from Houston to a small cafe in italy, I would go to Mercato and Company.

Yelp
This is SUCH a good coffee shop. You wouldn't think their coffee and food would be that great because it doubles as a little shop, but holy crap. My boyfriend and I loved their tiramisu latte and Dubai chocolate latte. Both were so delicious and well made. I also ordered their ham, egg, and cheese croissant. The croissant was perfectly flaky, and we completely devoured the sandwich. I would definitely come back again! It's in such a nice neighborhood of Houston too, so I loved driving around to see all of the houses before I stopped here.

Yelp
Amazing gem for coffee in the heart of Houston! Great for a date here or meeting up with friends or family. Ambiance is welcoming. Truly underrated place because there was only a few people here on my visit.

Yelp
The vibes are definitely giving italian summer! I love the inside and vibe of the cafe, I went during a Saturday morning and the store was packed but there was still seating outdoors on the patio, which is shaded and has lots of vines. The tiramisu coffee was okay, I couldn't taste much of the tiramisu but presentation was still pretty. I liked the hermann matcha more, its blueberry and chantilly cream, not too sweet and a good tart. The service was great and our drinks came out quick! Definitely worth a visit and I'd come back for the vibe.

Yelp
I LOVEEEE the coffee here is so good. The vibes inside the place and outside are so nice love this place is a 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Love this place! Almost feels like you are transported outside of Houston. The tiramisu latte is absolutely delicious- not too sweet, and the perfect balance. Love that They pair it with a lady finger to dip into the foam on top. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and they also sell LOVE crossiants which is a plus plussss. Check this place out next time you're in the area!

Yelp
My sandwich was GREAT! Tasted very fresh. The patio was a great space for our weenies and wine meet up and the service was wonderful!

Yelp
Mercato and Company is a cute Italian grocery in the West University area. This place is a must visit for authentic Italian wine, cheese, pasta, tinned fish, etc. Aside from the groceries, they also have an Italian deli serving sandwiches and a cafe (Ella Coffee). I came to try the tiramisu latte that became viral on TikTok. I also originally wanted to come and get some work done but wasn't sure what the seating situation would be like. They have a cute outdoor patio are with plenty of tables. It's a great place to study, weather permitting of course. The tiramisu latte came dusted with espresso and garnished with a lady finger. It was too sweet for my liking so I was only able to drink about half of it. It was also surprisingly pricy so it's not something I would order regularly. I'd be curious to see how their other drinks are like though and also their sandwiches.

Yelp
I tried the relatively new mercato and company in west university in Houston. They are an Italian mini store that also has a cafe. The parking is very limited in the front and back so I had to resort to parking in the neighborhood. They have a few tables inside as well as many tables outside in their shaded outdoor patio. I got their Lizzie tiramisu and hermann matcha signature drinks. The tiramisu latte was made with hazelnut, oat milk, vegan chantilly cream, cocoa powder, and a lady finger. The hermann matcha had blueberry syrup and chantilly cream. I really liked the tiramisu latte. It was rich and creamy with cocoa powder dusted over it. The matcha was not bad but I felt like it was a little over the top. I would've preferred a more simple matcha. This is a really nice place to study in such a nice part of town with beautiful houses so I will definitely come back to try more drinks

Yelp
Sipping on a cappuccino and a glass of Moscato out here on the patio... my favorite little spot in town! It's always so peaceful. Easy parking in the front and back, and the service is as warm as the coffee. Pure comfort.

Yelp
Stopped in for more of my favorite coffee. The lavender always has a soft spot for me. However my friend get a pistachio/hibiscus combination that was amazing. Loveeee it. The service was nice. They have such hustle which I feel is rear. The busy market is great. A bit cramped but Consistently flowing.

Yelp
Came for coffee & a snack with a friend on a Monday afternoon. It was fairly busy for a weekday. But we were served in a reasonable time and found a table easily. They have a great outdoor patio that seems to be dog friendly. (So will be bringing my dog with me next time). We both got ham egg & cheese croissants which were honestly unimpressive. The croissant itself was fine. But will be skipping next time. The inside of the sandwich was cold and honestly a bit overpriced at 13.00. The coffee however was super yummy!! We both had tiramisu lattes and they were worth the hype. And pretty to look at. Overall not the worst experience. It's also walking distance from my house so will be revisiting at some point.

Yelp
The service was amazing and although the place small, it was so cute and cozy! It was packed and they also have an outdoor seating area. I had seen this place go viral on social media, and while their specialty drinks sounded good, it was not. No matcha taste at all and the drink left a very powdery taste in my mouth that i couldnt really finish my drink.

Yelp
Cute spot to grab a coffee and some snacks. The sandwiches are pricey for what you get though. I paid $18 for a small panini and when it came out I was surprised. I did get the tiramisu latte which was nice. That was $7 so also on the pricier side but it comes dusted with cocoa powder and served with a ladyfinger that I dipped into the coffee. Employees were nice and parking is on the street where you can find an open spot.

Yelp
We popped into Mercato for lunch, and it was great! The back patio is just lovely--a nice, casual spot to enjoy lunch and maybe a glass of Italian wine. The parma panini that I had was delicious (though a little pricy at $18 for just the sandwich and some chips), and my friend really enjoyed her orto vegan panini. The bread was so fresh, and the panini was tasty! They also had mini panini "sliders" with ham and cheese for the kids for $3 each, a perfect size for the kiddos! While we didn't shop for anything beyond lunch, Mercato is also a coffee shop, market, and wine shop--it looks like they had a lot of great options.

Yelp
A nice option for West U and beyond! Brightly lit naturally and clean. Came for lunch with girlfriends and I myself had the burrata salad while they noshed on the paninis and each had a tiramisu drink, which looks like a 1000-calorie dessert! It's more like a grocer with counter service, and the staff is super nice. They even refilled my turmeric latte with extra steamed milk after I had a large amount of leftover turmeric slush at the bottom of my cup--most likely due to me drinking it so slowly since I was chatting so much lol! Not much in the way of seating options, but I hear they will open up more and make it like a restaurant soon? We shall see! Only giving 4 stars because I feel the menu needs more options, especially since they're "competing" against Tiny's, Little Matt's and Maximo literally within walking distance.

Yelp
I went to Mercato & Company for the first time today after hearing about on a food blog on Instagram. I ordered the Parma panini, tiramisu latte and the panna cotta. Let me tell you everything was f r e s h. The panini was amazing and not just because it had a lot of burrata cheese, but because the bread was high quality and baked to perfection. The tiramisu latte was hands down the best of ever had. Care was taken in every step of the process in each item, but especially with the panna cotta. The berries and what I think was strawberry compote were all as fresh as could be, and complimented the creamy dessert well. The owner was so lovely and nice too, as was the entire staff. I didn't buy any groceries this time because I'd spent a bit on the food (it is a little pricey but well worth it), so next time I'll try out some Italian staples. Absolutely phenomenal and I love the location too. It was busy when I was there but ample seating was provided.

Yelp
Cute cafe and bistro, located near Rice Village. Got the tiramisu, a bit on the pricier side for $15, but loved the taste, had just the right amount of coffee.

Jasmine M.

Yelp
The smoothest coffee I've ever tried, the Tiramisu Latte was delicious and not too sweet! The store itself is so beautiful and there was ton of staff to make sure the coffee came out fast. Not very much seating so not great if you're looking to WFH, and veryyyy busy on Sunday!

Clarissa A.

Yelp
This place is a a really cute spot to have lunch or meet up with friends. I loved the ambiance and the staff was friendly. The outdoor area is really unique and such a great spot to sit outside when the weather is nice. The menu for this place is pretty limited and the prices are high considering the quality of the food. I went for lunch and had the caprese sandwhich ($18) and added on chicken (additional $6). The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price paid in my opinion. It came out fast though, which was a plus! The drink menu also seemed pretty limited, and I was a bit confused at what they offered so I grabbed a drink from the market instead to have with the sandwich. Be warned, parking is really tricky. There's a small lot behind the building but it fills up fast and is tricky to maneuver if you have a bigger vehicle. The other option is street parking, if you are willing to walk.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! Not only is it clean and crisp. The service is out of this world. Want to come here for breakfast and coffee every morning!

Yelp
Everything! I was invited by a friend of mine to this beautiful new place in Houston to celebrate my birthday. The Italian flair of this place brought back to my childhood memories. You can eat there or buy Italian charcuterie and various products. Their deserts our outstanding. Service was fast, attentive and courteous. You can enjoy your food inside or outside in their patio. Give it a try!!

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop! We had the tiramisu which was A+. Just wished they served coffee later! We were really hoping to try the tiramisu latte. But the service was great, all the staff members were very sweet. Will visit again!

Yelp
We cannot get enough of this Italian cafe and market. This is the epitome of a small business that still feels so authentic and is run with so much pride and attention to detail by the owners. You do need to try their coffees and handmade sandwiches made with artisan breads and fresh cut Italian deli. I just love how the Prosciutto is still cut the traditional way on an imposing restored antique manual slicer from 1946... just incredible. Check out also the selection of wines and other Italian specialties they have.... and don't forget to enjoy their backyard patio

Viola L.

Yelp
Wanted some coffee and I remembered this new grocery store/wine shop/cafe/takeaway. Hello Mercato and Company! The Ella Coffee was amazing. There are several seating areas inside, out front to enjoy food, as well as a patio in the back of the store. Staff was very helpful and I loved all the choices for lunch, nosh, and take out dinner! Next visit will explore wine selection for dinner! So much packed into a lovely space.

Incredible place can't believe your in Houston when there, feels more like California. Great coffee and wine, the salad wow

Yelp
What an absolute pleasure it was to visit this cute and cozy italian coffee shop/market! Arriving on an early Sunday morning, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff members, and promptly placed our orders as we did a bit of research on this place prior to our arrival. The viral tiramisu latte was an absolute must try and definitely lived up to the hype and expectations that I've seen mentioned throughout the internet. Pistachio crossaints we're also delicious! Large in size, contained a generous amount of pistachio cream inside, fluffy, and cooked to perfection. What I noticed is that this mercado has an extremely high Italian clientele, which I think speaks for itself when it comes to the authenticity of a true Italian mercado! The ambiance is as if you were vacationing in Italy, but it's in Houston. I will say that this place is a bit on the pricier side compared to other shops as 2 lattes and 2 crossaints costed about $40, but nonetheless I will definitely be a returning customer whose willing to pay the price in return for the excellent quality that Mercado & Company has to offer.

Louise K.

Yelp
Food and service were great. Felt like I was in a local store in Italy. We went back twice in one week.

Jeannie P.

Yelp
Cheesecake was the best I've had in a long time. With that said, I felt it was overpriced. Plus I went around 7pm and the staff seemed young and not trained well enough to get my order right and know where supplies are located.

Kareena B.

Yelp
10/10!! The baristas were so sweet! I got the viral Tiramisu latte! I will definitely be back for more!! This is the perfect place to grab a fun coffee and vibe with your friends or read a book.

Nav R.

Yelp
Do not bother with this place and do not trust the social media hype!! Market variety was very underwhelming and way overpriced. It is small and claustrophobic inside. I frequent many speciality food stores and markets in Houston. This one was the least impressive. You can get the same items at central market or specs for 1/2 the price. Staff is unfriendly and slow. Purchased some butter cookies and discovered they were expired. Very few options for food and beverages from the cafe. One of the dishes we ordered was the Burrata salad. For $18 it was a small round of Burrata on a sad wilted bed of arugula. No garnish, no taste, no dressing, no flavor. They were also out of several items we tried to order. A lot of social media for nothing- very misleading. Would not recommend at all.

Xochitl O.

Yelp
Food was meh and place was too packed - layout is awful. You're eating your brunch and people are reaching over you to get wines and whatever items you're near. Totally overwhelming. Not enough seating or parking.
