Perched high on a mountain, this contemporary hotel features spacious outdoor pools and waterslides, offering stunning views and a chill vibe perfect for families and couples alike.
"How did it strike you on arrival? At an elevation of 3,000 feet, this mountain resort overlooks Al Ain and the Oman border. The atmosphere of the hotel itself isn't particularly destination-worthy, but the surrounding scenery is. Nice. What’s the crowd like?A large conference center means lots of local business travelers, but the hotel is popular among honeymooners and couples, too. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Rooms are a bit dated and lack any sort of discernible regional flair. Headboards in the suites have elaborate wood inlays, and white bedding is accented with tropical hues. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Beds are comfortable, but beware that some double rooms consist of two twin beds pushed together. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms are on the smaller side, with dated tiling and so-so amenities. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free, strong throughout the property, and fast. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The hotel's mountain-top location makes for great views, overlooking the pool and Al Ain below. The pool is spacious, with a bar for you and a waterslide for the kids. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?Al Ain isn't exactly a hotbed of luxury resorts, but Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet gets the job done." - Laura Ratliff
