"At an elevation of 3,000 feet, this mountain resort overlooks Al Ain and the Oman border. Al Ain isn't exactly a hotbed of luxury resorts, but Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet gets the job done. The atmosphere of the hotel itself isn't particularly destination-worthy, but the surrounding scenery is. The hotel's mountain-top location makes for great views, overlooking the pool and Al Ain below. The pool is spacious, with a bar for you and a waterslide for the kids. A large conference center means lots of local business travelers, but the hotel is popular among honeymooners and couples, too." - Laura Ratliff
