Best New Restaurants in Queens, July 2025: According to Eater Editors | Eater NY
"The namesake chef-owner used to work at the now-closed neighborhood spot, Artopolis, and is upping her game with a batch of savory pies, including those lesser-seen in New York: pies baked with leeks, zucchini, spinach, and cheese. Pair those with what some locals may consider a top contender for the best freddo espresso in Astoria. Greek classics like pastitsio, stuffed bell pepper, and moussaka are doled out of a steam table in the back." - Caroline Shin
The lemon berry cake, tres leches, and bread pudding were all absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. Service with a smile made it the perfect spot to relax, linger, and enjoy every bite.

Our favorite new neighborhood coffee shop! Food is better than any other local coffee place and the coffee is super. We will definitely be coming back regularly. We are excited to try their lunch options.

Relaxing atmosphere and friendliest staff. Tried the orange cake and it was heavenly. Great place if you’re looking for a calm place to get any projects done on your laptop, they have plenty of power outlets :)

Was looking for a place to do work with real food (not just pastries) and was pleasantly surprised by not only the food options (not just savory pies but also chicken, rice, stuffed peppers) but also the ambiance and outdoor seating. Wi-Fi worked well. Friendly service. Will be returning!

Words are not enough to describe how good this bakery is!
Excellent Greek plates and pies, desserts, coffee, atmosphere and big, honest smiles from Meri and her family!
A place like this was missing from Ditmars.
Congrats and thank you!

A fantastic little neighborhood bakery and cafe. Lovely location, absolutely stellar food, and delicious drinks, all for very fair prices. They recently opened, so go show them some love! I recommend the orange cake and the lemon ginger ice tea for warm sunny days.

It does not get better than this!
It's a bakery but has more savory food with quick daily plates you can have- Greek style like baked chicken, stuffed peppers and the meat and spinach pies.
I LOVE leek pie and this mini leek pie was incredible. The cappuccino was perfectly made, and the ambience could not be better, with space for people to lounge, chat with friends and enjoy good food and drinks on a quiet street.

Yelp
Strolled into Meri's for a quick snack after fasting for some blood work. Picked up an almond and chocolate croissant. Not sure if they make them in house because they were similar to other croissants I've had in the area. Delicious nonetheless. The place smells amazing upon entry. Cute little setup and the pastries on display are tempting. Everything looks amazing, the staff was lovely and engaging and I can't wait come back.

Yelp
Opening day left us with a great first impression.
We ordered croissant, leek pie , zucchini pie, and spinach pie and we thought they all tasted homemade and authentic.
Have not tried coffee yet, hopefully it's good too!

Yelp
Super cute cafe in the neighborhood! Quaint outdoor seating and beautiful inside! Friendly service by the young lady working (I didn't catch her name!), but there were so many goodies to choose from! Decided on an iced latte and iced tea to cool off from the evening stroll and snacked on sticky buns and a zucchini pie slice. Really delicious and would love to come back ....the napoleon pice slice looks amazing btw!

Yelp
Cute little bakery & cafe in Astoria! All the sweet treats looked so delicious, I wanted to try them all! I chose the cheese danish & an iced cappuccino & I wasn't disappointed! Others in my party enjoyed a coffee (perfect light & sweet, not too strong or weak) & a chocolate chip cookie. Perfect little afternoon pick me up. They have cafe tables inside as well as an outdoor patio area. Stop in if you're in the area.

Yelp
Service is kind and the food is so yummy! We got a piece of the zucchini pie as a snack, hibiscus tea, and a baklava cheesecake to go for later! 10/10

Yelp
I'm a Private Chef in NYC, and this morning on my way to work I came across this gem. I drive past it every Saturday and today I decided to try what they have to offer. What a great surprise, one of the best home made spinach pies I've ever had and great coffee. This will be my stop every Saturday from now on. Besides, I wanna try their meet, chicken pie. Desserts and pastries are visually very appealing and I'm sure they are great.

Yelp
Perfect neighborhood cafe and bakeshop. The drinks are tasty and the baked goods are delightful. I'm particularly addicted to the portokalopita (orange cake). Meri and her daughter are incredibly friendly as well.
