To be honest, we had expected more. We had coconut shrimp as a starter. The shrimp were delicious, but we weren't impressed with the sauce. We've had better. My wife had the mahi mahi with asparagus. The plate looked good. I had the grouper with rice. What does this plate look like? $32? The lettuce leaf is completely unacceptable, and a bite of vegetables would have improved the appearance of the plate. My daughter had fish and chips. The fish was very good, but the chips weren't. Also, unlike other places, the drink wasn't included; no, we had to pay full price for it. For dessert, we had key lime pie and cheesecake. They were delicious, but the portion size for the price was, well, not great. Luckily, we hadn't sat outside, because a DJ was playing music at an extremely loud volume. All in all, the fish was really great, but the rest wasn't so good. We have been served in a less hectic manner before. We would rather go somewhere else to eat fish. What wasn't so great was that it was our last evening in Cape Coral and we ended up going home feeling rather disappointed.

We arrive later in the evening, close to 730, to find live music playing. Great atmosphere outside but very windy that day. Good selection of seafood entrees. Good service. Calamari was crispy and well cooked. The oysters went quickly and were tasty. The Bloody Mary tower was fun. Most of the entrées were a hit. Especially the alfredo, which had plenty of shrimp, lobster, and scallop. The blackened mahi mahi paired very well with the salsa and rice. The diablo linguine was very good. The grouper with capers was good but wasn't a favorite. Last but not least, the Key Lime pie (made in-house) didn't last long, definitely on the favorite list. A must stop next time we visit Cape Coral.

Google
Wonderful service delicious fresh seafood. The grouper piccata was out of this world and the shrimp cocktail was so fresh and yummy. My husband had a lump crab cakes for an appetizer and the fried seafood platter and he said it was the best seafood he’s had since he moved down here. We will definitely be back.

Monica

Google
We went to have apps and drinks and they didn’t disappoint. We ordered calamari and the tuna trio, and I had a lemon drop. Everything was amazing and it was a nice stop. Great music! A little on the loud side but it was fine!

Sonia L.

Google
Not a scenic location but nice outdoor eating area, plenty of parking nearby and courteous staff. A bit touristy. Four stars for great food and large portions. Stone crab was just ok. Not what I have had in the past. I date say previously frozen? I hope not but it just wasn't what I expected. The tuna tartar however was excellent! Grouper sandwich was fresh and tasty too.

Google
Super friendly, my granddaughter daughter and I were looking for chocolates and found the gem. There are so many choices and they were ALL so delicious. Good price and they have great packaging 📦 👌

Google
It was my first time the other night, and it was an ok experience. Melissa, my waitress was ok. The young idiot girl took my silverware and put it in my drink BEFORE WE EVEN GOT OUR DINNER, and the young idiot boy tried to clear the table after she did. The female got an attitude with me when I raised my voice and told her to get away from my table we didn't even get our food yet. You need to teach these two manners, respect, and HOW to buss a table CORRECTLY because neither would be working for me after what they did. Now, the food was amazing, but the service was terrible from the get-go. I might go back and try them again, but it won't be a monthly place for me.

Google
First time at Merrick Seafood Company & Fosh Tale Grill, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Yum! And, everyone was super friendly!

Yelp
This was our second visit here, and we will definitely be back. This time we tried the seafood tower and lobster egg rolls, nothing was left on our plates. The seafood here is sooooooo fresh! Service, quality, and presentation here is always on point

Yelp
Guess if I was a local might would come back at happy hour that seemed to be the crowd when I was there last month on a weekday Food was a little disappointing since it is a seafood market Fried shrimp was especially disappointing but in their defense haven't had good shrimp yet in this area
google avatar

Yelp
Always a good experience here. We always get the Chillian Seabass. The service is always good as well. I highly recommend if you're ever in the Cape.

Yelp
Fish Tales has been our favorite restaurant for the past 3 years. A must for every vacation. So when we moved here in November we knew Fish Tales was where we would celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I am not sure what happened in a year, but we were disappointed. We got seated inside, with no wait. Then we sat for about 15 minutes with absolutely no acknowledgement. I finally got up and asked the bartender if we had a waitress. He got someone to be our server. We ordered drinks and 1/2 dozen oysters for our appetizer. The oysters were good, except four hadn't been cut from the shell, making them difficult to eat properly. We both ordered the Chef's Paella. For almost $40, 6 small pieces of seafood, 4 of which were very tiny clams and mussels, seemed skimpy. Having said that, it was very tasty. I would like to think this was an odd off night for Fish Tales. It's a place we have always loved. We will give them another try.

Yelp
Amazing. Fantastic seafood. Our service was excellent. The Cranberry Macadamia Grouper was one of the best dishes I have ever had. Can't wait to go again. The only downside is the parking next to the restaurant to the building was too small. Plenty of parking across the street but not ideal if you have elderly people with you. Just be prepared. I would definitely come again. Would love to try brunch or sit and have oysters in the bar area.

Yelp
I had a hankering for seafood, so my mom suggested Fish Tale. Happy they were open on a Monday, and they even had love music on the patio! We ate inside and enjoyed the AC and gorgeous decor. Started with coconut shrimp (mango sauce!) and had the broiled seafood platter (grouper, shrimp, scallops) Yummmmm. Service was friendly and quick with requests. We perused the fresh fish market on the way out and look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Well, we could definitely hear the music. Our server was kind, quick and thorough. I had surf and turf at MKT price which was equivalent to Fish Tale's mortgage. The filet was wonderful as were the scallops. The wine was fine. Others had dinner salads, lobster, seafood pasta and crab cakes. The food was quite tasty. I'm not sure I'd return but I can't put my finger on why except that it felt like a rush with the loud music and folks waiting for tables. Meh. Been here, done this.

Yelp
We came here on a recommendation from our friend who is a long time Cape resident. I had the grouper piccata complete with garlic mashed potatoes and julienne vegetables. It was delish! My husband and our friend we were with, had the hogfish stuffed with lobster, they both said it was excellent as well. Generous portions, fun atmosphere and decor, great menu selection with lots of daily specials and a great cocktail menu. The only unfortunate part was that we were too full to enjoy dessert, maybe next time! We will definitely return and keep Fish Tale as one of our local favorite go-to's. There is also a fresh fish market on the other side of the restaurant where you can purchase fresh seafood selections daily.

Yelp
We had a great time! We had the seafood tower and it was so good! The food was awesome!

Yelp
After coming to Sanibel for years, our go to first night dinner has always been the Prawmbroker. We wanted to shake it up so I reached out to Ft Myers foodies bad over and over, Fish Tails came up. We were a bit worried about seating on a Friday night and them not taking reservations, but what the heck, we're on vacation. We arrived to the sound of a Caribbean beat and live music on the patio. We were immediately seated and served some yummy beverages. The menu was varried and diverse and everyone found something satisfying. Though not a local type dish, I got the New England fried belly clams. You don't come across whole clams fried that often and they were as good as any I've had in New England. My wife had the Chilean sea bass and not only was it delicious but the presentation was beautiful. Portions were large. We both left stuffed and with food left on our plate. That was fun and worth the gamble. I can see a return visit in our future.

Yelp
Macy the manager just lost a 40 dollar order. I already spent 60 dollars. because she would not give me an extra tartar sauce without charging me. I told her other restaurants like pincher's and Lobster Lady give it for free and she told me to go there, so I did.

Yelp
What a treasure this place is! We ate here the first night we arrived and it really set the bar high for our trip. Our server Marco was awesome - friendly, knowledgeable, and quick service. We were shocked how quickly our food came out! I had the Lobster and Crab Spring Rolls (Market Price was $24 at the time) as much entree and it was the perfect amount of food. It came on a cold noodle bed with tasty seaweed salad. Mom got blackened shrimp (big & juicy) & onion rings (large rings with crunchy breading) and Dad got the fried whitefish (steaming hot & HUGE portion) with tasty fries. Everyone was pleased. We ended with a slice of Key Lime pie that was delectably smooth, tart and had a touch of honey sweetness. One of the best I've had in Florida. We sat on the patio which is quite large (and can be breezy so bring a jacket if you chill easily) and enjoyed a band that played Fleetwood Mac covers & the like. We're definitely coming back.

Yelp
We stopped in for a light dinner. The food was excellent. Our server, Jefferson, was first class. The bar staff was very accommodating. The only downside, and that was on me, is that I couldn't find a seat far enough away from an A/C vent.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
1st time and wow food was fresh, hot, and served quickly. Our server was top notch. And the restaurant is beautiful, we felt like we were in Miami. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Yelp
Our server was nice & the food was good. I will say that this place has huge portions so if you're not super hungry, splitting a dinner or salad may be the best route to go.

Yelp
I stopped by here earlier today with my family for takeout. We had called into Fish Tail Grille at around 4:25 PM to place a to go order. After placing the full order, we were told that it would be ready in 20-30 minutes and it could be picked up in the bar. We arrived to Fish Tail Grille about 40 minutes later and our food was ready. Since my father in law was the one who went in and paid, I can't say much about the place itself. For dinner on this evening I went with the Cranberry macadamia grouper while my wife and father in law went with seafood Cobb salads and my mother in law went with the Asian salad with shrimp. We also added the Artisan bread basket with sun dried tomato butter and my wife a cup of the seafood chowder. My fish dish ended up being quite good as I thought the grouper was cooked nicely and was flavorful. Even though I could see both the macadamia nut and cranberry crusted on the outside, I couldn't really taste them and also didn't get any extra texture from them. So that part of the fish was disappointing. The vegetable part of the dish was some julienned carrots, zucchini and other things on top of the fish and it tasted good. Last was the rice which had a nice flavor to it and provided a nice base carb for the meal. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Our whole family enjoyed their food and we loved all of the seafood options.

Yelp
Fish Tale has become a MUST on our visits to Cape Coral and surrounding areas! We have enjoyed several evenings at Fish Tale for dinner or drinks over the last few years. Our most recent visit was June 2024. Menu offers enough variety to fit all of our friends. Apps and entrees offer variety of classic and trend, fresh, not run-of-the-mill touristy fried foods. Be advised: interior of restaurant is not quiet and mellow ambiance. Normal restaurant noise and few sound buffers mean conversation and laughter can make for noisy dining experience. Good vibes and positive energy, though! Outside seating is lovely option.

Yelp
Love it - we go weekly for a fun night and great meal! Staff is always friendly. Portions are sometimes small but quality is always on point.

Sammi J.

Yelp
Service was above average, waiting a little long for our server but didn't wait long at all for food. Coconut Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the mango sauce it came with was so sweet and tangy, loved it. I ordered the lobster roll hot. I don't think I'd order it again, the price was fair and came with a good amount of lobster, it wasn't really warm at all, was expecting a little more flavor but again wasn't awful, just have had better. The onion rings on the side were burning hot when they came out and had good simple flavor. All in all good spot for a Monday when everywhere else seems to be closed in the area.

Yelp
Food great, service ok. Ambiance really nice setting.A little expensive no.deal for happy hour
google avatar

Anthony R.

Yelp
Busy place, expensive, being in the industry my whole life a found the taste of the food not worthy of the asking price. The seafood market is great if you're cooking at home.
google avatar

Megan I.

Yelp
Food was cooked to perfection!! Ordered the - Calamari Filet mignon - pictured ! Mahi mahi Espresso martini & margarita Waitress was lovely / live music was great!
google avatar

Kenneth B.

Yelp
We sat outside and the weather was nice. I had the seafood chowder, it was to die for. Velvety smooth and lots of seafood. I wasn't wild about the stone crab, lacked taste and messy to eat, It was served with a mayo based dipping sauce. I got them 2 years ago at another establishment and they were Soo sweet and easy to navigate, served with drawn butter. My wife got a crab and lobster roll and really enjoyed it. Service was great and attentive. I would recommend to anyone. It comes well recommended by the locals as well. Restaurant is clean and well kept. The restaurant has indoor or outdoor seating and can accommodate groups of all sizes Parking is in the lot, right across the street.

Yelp
Stopped in to hang out while I waited for my mom to get an errand completed nearly. Service was excellent, the food looks great (especially the calamari) and the beer was cold. I sat at the bar for about an hour nursing that beer and they didn't mind at all. Definitely need to get back to here for dinner soon. [Review 18950 overall - 1568 in Florida - 2474 of 2022.]

Yelp
Wow!wow! Loved my dinner of lobster in linguine. The amount of real lobster in this dish was outstanding. My friend Tracey ordered the mahi-mahi which was insanely delicious. The service from the bartenders was excellent. A special thanks to Brad (the manager) tonight for making sure all was good with us. I highly recommend you eat here once because I bet you'll come back many more times. Caryn (from NY)

Erin B.

Yelp
The food was excellent! And the live music was the best of the trip! The cocktails were great and not overly sweet. Our server was busy, but also attentive to us.
google avatar

Marna R.

Yelp
We were seated immediately inside, altho there was a wait for the patio where there was live music. We began with a bowl of lobster bisque. It was just okay. The bisque was very tomatoey and there didn't appear to be any lobster in it. The rest of the meal was wonderful! My husband had blackened grouper with cole slaw. I chose the bourbon glazed salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Both entrees were excellent. Our server showed just the right amount of attention to our table. Definitely recommend Fish Tale for seafood!
google avatar

Ruth M.

Yelp
Four of us came here for Valentines Day. Three dishes were wonderful, that being the stuffed shrimp and the (2) cranberry macadamia encrusted grouper. I on the other hand had the surf and turf. It was the worst meal I've ever had. The lobster tail was old and dried out and only 2 1/2" long X 1" wide, they also gave you a buttered flavored oil to dip your lobster in. Not butter or clarified butter. The asparagus was cold and the filet was the most grissley piece of meat I ever had. Definately not USDA prime steak that you would expect. The ladies all received a beautiful rose when they left. Seating was indoors or outdoors and they had a duet playing on the patio.
google avatar

Debbie S.

Yelp
Dined here multiple times. Great food & service. A little crowded & loud for conversation.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Average at best. Red Lobster is better. The food was generic and not flavorful. Very overpriced and just flat out below average. Our waitress was fun!
google avatar

Craig E.

Yelp
We go to Sunday brunch usually and have the lobster Benedict. Tried the biscuits and gravy, but would not recommend. Bloody Mary's are excellent. We usually eat indoors to cut down a noise outside if we would like to have conversations with their friends the service is excellent.
google avatar

Virginie L.

Yelp
This place was Awesome!!! The ambiance was great, the noise level was perfect and service was perfect. Our server Greg was great and took excellent care of us. We had the Snapper and snow Crab Legs Highly recommended

Yelp
Went to dinner here with my friends for my birthday and it was a good time. For being a larger party we were sat very quickly. For drinks I always go with a pink lemonade martini, they are tasty and you can't go wrong with a martini! I started with calamari which came out quickly and ordered the filet and lobster which came with come veggies and mash potatoes. It was so delicious! Not sure how often market price changes but it was a very good price for the meal. I only snapped a pic of my appetizer because I was so excited when my food came I forgot to get a pic before I devoured it. Haha One of my friends in the party had ordered a pasta and she didn't love the sauce. Our waiter was nice about exchanging her meal for something else that she would prefer and that mean came out perfectly and fast! She was so happy! Will return.

Ryan C.

Yelp
First time trying out this restaurant. And it will be the last. Ordered. Fried calamari so chewy and tough, couldn't eat it. Steamer clams were fine! Service was horrible. Never came over to the table to see if we needed anything. I had to get up twice to remove our plates out of our way. Don't waste your money!
google avatar

Yelp
Top-of-the-line Service top-of-the-line waiters entertainment, first class all the way

Marianne S.

Yelp
Food and service were great. We went in early afternoon so it wasn't too busy. Watermelon mint sangria was tasty. We had fish and chips and New England platter. Light crisp coating, scallops were cooked great.
google avatar

Maram A.

Yelp
The service here was very friendly. We were also impressed by how big and spacious this place is. We ordered a lot of food and the bill was over 400. The lobster bisque not pictured was just so cup of heavy cream, just very thick. I do not recommend it. Our mains were not good either. In fact our stuffed cod and other dishes came smothered in the lobster bisque. I think they use that soup as a sauce and bisque. One if the dishes was sent back and they graciously fixed it but the food really needs a lot of work. When you order get grilled meals and as for the sauce on the side which as mentioned is the same as their lobster bisque. Mera's Tip: go for the tuna app
google avatar

Barbara E.

Yelp
The fish was fresh and delish . They have great selections. The service was excellent. Very.comfortable atmosphere.

Hollie L.

Yelp
I can't wait to visit again! I am a nut for seafood and love finding places that do it right! The crab Benedict was hands down some of the best I've ever had. I am literally drooling just thinking about it. The oysters were huge and ver fresh. I usually love mussels but these left something to be desired. Next time I'd like to try their delicious looking bloody mary, that seems to be a meal in itself. Even through construction the place is clean and the service is great!
google avatar

Donnie S.

Yelp
I was one of the last tables to walk in - with a party of five - Rockefeller was one of my least favorites - pretty sure that it wasn't cooked entirely- but nevertheless the service was amazing

Glenn S.

Yelp
We spend the month of February in Cape Coral and make it a must we visit The Fish Tail Grill. Outstanding food and service. Their seafood Bloody Mary is outrageous.
google avatar

Andre M.

Yelp
I would have to say that I am impressed they close at 9:00 they set my lady and me at 8:59 and we insisted on leaving so they didn't have to cook but they insisted on a stain we ordered the fisherman's platter two lobster tails one cluster of king crab two clusters of snow crab ahi tuna about seven or eight shrimp nice size we got all cocktail it usually comes with cocktail and coconut and some conch fritters very impressive display of a seafood platter for two well worth the money and they had reggae playing so it made it just a good night if you happen to be in Cape Coral definitely go
google avatar

Don B.

Yelp
A busy Friday night. The reggae band was excellent and the bar drinks were spot on. The waitress did a great job keeping up. I had a great special- the paella. I wish they would have done it the traditional way to get the crispy rice bottom. The seafood in the dish was excellent. We had the Rhode Island oysters. Good enough, but no liquor in the shell and no mignonette. Dessert was a chocolate croissant bread pudding that hit the spot. I will be back.
google avatar

Loretta C.

Yelp
Love this place ever since they got it remodeled. We had amazing seafood linguini and seafood towers the other day. Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Leisha C.

Yelp
EVERYTHING was amazing. We had the steak which was super tender and the fish and chips. It was super fresh and cooked to perfection. It was soooo good that we came back the next day. Highly recommended

Laura L.

Yelp
Nice modern look and feel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Lots of outdoor seating and heaters for when the nights are chilly. The food is excellent. I had a salad with grilled grouper and was very good. My daughter had a grouper sandwich and it was tasty as well. Nice bar and wine selection. The fish market looked amazing but we were visiting so we didn't buy anything. Would love to try it out though! A little pricey but worth the cost. Not pet friendly even though outdoor seating which was a little disappointing.

Michael B.

Yelp
The service was very good. The food was not good. Had oysters Rockefeller as an app. Baked spinach looked old and was only warm. Fried oysters on top...weird! Grouper picatta. Very dry and not flaky as was described by the waitress. Picatta sauce was also weird. Had artichokes in it and tasteless. $150 including tip and definitely not worth it. Very busy place, which surprised us. Here for Spring Training, but won't be coming back to this restaurant. Very disappointing!

Melody H.

Yelp
Had drinks and dinner last night. Great drinks and appetizers. However, right when our dinner arrived a girl at the next table started puking in a bowl. Her companions were holding her up while she got sick. We complained to wait staff and the were going to get a manager. I never saw any management approach them. This lasted about 10-15 minutes until they carried her out. At this point we lost our appetite and couldn't even eat! We paid our entire bill and left. Took our dinners home.

Yelp
Awesome food and great atmosphere! Perfect night out listening to music and celebrating my wife's birthday!
