"Indigenous varieties like Merwah, Marini, Daw El Amar (moonlight), Obeidi, Maksasi which are unique to Lebanon and speak of the land and winemaking culture, explains Eddie Chami from Mersel Wine. 'I focus on keeping things minimal, doing all things by hand, to be as close to nature as possible.'" - Jillian Dara

We were very fortunate to be able to visit Mersel winery. Be sure to contact the owner in advance so he can show you the production area. We saw cisterns and clay pots with fermenting wine, as well as the barrels with aging wine. Ellie the owner was very hospitable and offered us a closer look at all the various winemaking processes and a chance to taste the wine at different stages of production. Additionally, this location has incredible views of the Qadisha valley! Must visit if you are in the area and curious about Lebanese winemaking🥂
