The Hottest Cocktail Bars in San Diego, May 2024

"Liberty Public Market’s Mess Hall is unveiling a fresh cocktail menu inspired by the market’s high-quality vendors. Starting Thursday, May 24, enjoy the White Rice-inspired You Had Me at Ube, featuring rum, ube jam, and horchata liqueur. Then, on June 1, the menu will switch to a new lineup, including delights like the Baker & Olive-inspired French Like Emily made with Hendrick’s gin, wild raspberry white balsamic, and a splash of brut rosé." - Kelly Bone, Candice Woo

Wowww its a very large open restaurant and it feels great to hang out in 😎❤️ because the rest of liberty market is busy or closer together , in the restaurant they have beer on one side and bbq pork or pizza on the other side 😂❤️😎 they have a large selection of beer on tap or in cans , so have fun exploring new kinds of beer 😎

Google
It's a cool spot. Good music and mostly a good vibe. I have been sitting here for almost an hour and have yet to see any of the 4 bartenders smile. I can get an overpriced drink anywhere where it's more engaging.

Google
Great place for food and sometimes beer - there are a ton of food choices and lots of seating. Three of us in our group ordered separately from Masten Sausage co......too funny. The sushi burrito was other great choice.

Peter Robinson

Over 20 craft beers to choose from. I had the evil twin stout. String and very tasty.

Visited here for brunch. We had reservations but it wasn't crowded at 10:30 am. I loved that all the ingredients are sourced from vendors in the public market. The delicious mimosas were made with fresh juice and the cheese board had lots of great flavor combinations. My main which was their version of an eggs Benedict was good too (the mushrooms were awesome), but the poaches eggs were slightly overcooked. The place can be a bit pricy if you order more than a main. Service was attentive and polite.

Lots of food choices: from various Asian cuisine, to French, to South American, BBQ, chicken, Vegetarian, tacos, Desserts, coffee and other beverages. Abundant outdoor seating - covered and open.

Google
Plenty of good choices. Beer and martini bar in cafeteria, but order your food from the food court area before picking a seat in the cafeteria. Great lunch place

Google
Good for groups. Have someone show up early to secure a table. There's all kinds of food and drinks; something for everyone. The stalls take a minute to make the food (think food truck wait times) but it's excellent. If you have folks that need a seat then I'd get there even earlier to make sure you can get a good spot on the patio. The planes are loud and taking off every other minute but I find it's a great way to break up a conversation. If someone's telling a long winded story, for example, they're awesome. Don't try to talk over them. Nobody will hear you; embrace the "Point Loma pause"

Yelp
The staff members were hilarious, attentive, and super sweet. A patron couldn't ask more from a bartender/mixologist. I'd come back again just for the staff members! I tried some zero-proof drinks from their fridge!

Yelp
I love the concept of the entire Liberty Station shopping and eating venue. One highlight is the Mess Hall. The cocktail bar in the Liberty public market. Where else can you sit at a bar, get a craft cocktail, or small batch beer, and bring back food from all different vendors? That is a rhetorical question. Cheers and enjoy. NOM NOM

Yelp
Located at liberty station, can be hard to find parking some times. Located in a food hall with lots of food items. Nice casual food vibes and good range of beer selections
google avatar

Yelp
The reason I am giving it such a low review is that I picked a stout that had a cool bottle... it was $35!!! $35 for a beer!!!! There are no stickers for the price and they opened it before they told me the price. I was so embarrassed and shocked there was nothing I could do but pay and walk away. They also charge a "corking fee" plus ask for tip. That's disgusting
google avatar

Coral T.

Yelp
Great spot for large groups, great selection of drinks and food. Here you can buy alcoholic drinks on tap or beers/ciders/wine to go.
google avatar

Layla L.

Yelp
Misleading. They ask if you want your drink for here, if you say yes, you pay $1.50 extra, which for a $3.80 drink is stupid. Then they give you attitude about it when you question them on it because they know it's dumb and has no reasoning behind it. I can literally crack my own drink, I don't need to pay you $1.50 to do so for me. Icing on top was that there was a giant piece of fuzz stuck to a piece of ice. Gross. Never coming back.

Yelp
Our drinks were great. The ambience was great. The music was a little quiet, but great selections, and the best parts were the maraschino cherries and our bartender Priscilla! Thank you so much!

Yelp
I never write reviews. But, I have been in the industry for 16 years and I have never had such a bad experience. I came with a huge group to celebrate my brother in laws engagement and unfortunately had to experience one of ur employees who was completely drunk or honestly maybe high (on what? Idk! but she was out of control). It started when she creepily walked in the middle of our group, standing there with out speaking to anyone for a good amount of time, got close to my kid made a comment about kids being her silver lining or something and walked away. Which is fine to say honestly, but standing in the middle of our group not speaking for a good amount of time while staring at my kid, was very weird. She was giving free drinks to multiple people saying it was last call (it was 5:30-6:00). Every time we came to the bar she was gone. Then when I came to order and she shockingly was around she was serving someone, yelling at them to "order! Just order your drink" I believe he was a fellow employee who worked in the shops? Either way. If Megan is the manager, for ur business you should re-evaluate her position. Please, honestly look at the cameras. I don't know the names of the girls working but they are superhero's. The incredible, and amazingly patient woman in the pink crop top was handling everyone ALONE! It's the night before thanksgiving and you guys are a business working by the airport. Manger or not Megan is out of control. And if I were you guys I would let her go immediately. There is excuse for her behavior.

Yelp
I grabbed a drink here last night with a friend of mine before we headed to a concert. It's located inside Liberty Public Market. On Saturdays and Sundays they have $6 Mimosas from 9am-11am I believe. I ordered a Market Sunrise $13 which has rum, pineapple, orange, orgeat, and housemade grenadine. It tasted just alright. I usually don't drink alcohol too often for a number of reasons, one being that once I break the seal I'll have to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes haha. Overall, this place is okay. Not a bad place to grab a drink when you're in Liberty Public Market.
google avatar

Marie C.

Yelp
Located right inside liberty market, they have a good variety of alcoholic drinks to go or to consume there, there are a few tables. Good ambiance with a lot of people go grab some food and come eat here while they enjoy some drinks.

Yelp
The first stop we made when I was in town last was Mess Hall, reason being, it's got something for everyone. I'm a big kombucha beer drinker but I can also go for a sour, IPA, glass of Cab or silver tequila. My friends are a little more specific though and only drink beer or only drink wine, so Mess Hall was the perfect place to not only all get what we liked, but also try many varieties/local brands of our own individual favorite styles of alcohol. They also host themed nights, have good bar snacks (i.e. San Diego Snack Co Mexican Chocolate Pretzels), TVs all around to play "the game," and a wide variety of restaurant booth options throughout the rest of the public market style building where you can order and bring your food to the hall to eat all together with your group. The theme here is variety and tons of quality options at that. There's tons of free parking all around the building complex, though I'd recommend Ubering/Lyfting if you don't have a DD because you're going to want to try all the drinks. My favorite options here were the Juneshine kombucha beers, specifically the Midnight Painkiller flavor, though I've tried almost all of them and don't hate any of them. They also have Boochcraft kombucha beers and two other brands i'd never heard of before. The cider selection is larger than I'd ever seen and their beers on tap include a huge variety of local options you'll love. My friends and I all got a different beer, tried each others and had not complaints, though the orange flavored Modern Times was definitely the group favorite. Checkout Mess Hall! It's a group group setting, first date spot, place to watch the game, and so on. This area has so much fun stuff to see and do, If you're a tourist I'd recommend giving yourself time to explore all the shops and food and beverage options. Not insanely kid friendly but not the worst spot to take them either; it can just get pretty loud in Mess Hall. If you're planning your visit ahead of time, check out their social media for cool upcoming events!

Yelp
This appears to be the only place to buy beer and spirits in the Liberty Food Market. They do have a very large selection of draft beer and beer and wine to go. The prices are ok but I don't like that they tacked on a 4% covid fee. I know many of these places are hurting but I would rather they just raise their prices.
google avatar

Jared W.

Yelp
Such a disappointing experience. Greeted with a "what do you want". Lots of options here, no clue what we wanted. Asked about flavors, tastes etc. received a "pick something" as a response. I'm sorry, we're visiting and trying to see what you offer. Thanks for the ruined experience.

Yelp
The cocktail bar in Liberty public market. Where else can you sit at a bar, get a craft cocktail, and bring back food from all different vendors and set up a spread for yourself. So fun. We came in a Sunday afternoon and grabbed a snack at Mastiff and a drink at Mess Hall while we waited for our brunch reservation. I had the Tiberius which was very refreshing although a tidge sweet. It is a blend of vodka, cucumber, fresh lemon, and rosemary agave. Yum. Our bartender was super awesome. Knowledgeable and friendly. My partner in crime got a Bloody Mary, and he really enjoyed it.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
Mess Hall Bar is the only bar in Liberty Public Market... so you really don't have a choice if you want hard liquor or pricing. Been here several times, drinks are made decently. What gives this place a 4 in my opinion is their Bloody Mary. They make their own BM mix, it's thick and delicious with good substance, you can taste some spice of the horseradish and it's not runny. The prices are quite inflated but it's because it's probably the location. The BM or any cocktail will cost you about $15.

Yelp
This is a fun bar with a good atmosphere. It gets loud. It's also quite the mixed crowd, so expect to see families and kids sitting right behind you. Be on your best behavior, and don't expect privacy here at all. The servers here are very friendly. However, a couple things: 1) They ever-so-slightly push bottles of wine on you instead of glasses. You feel the up-sell. 2) Their wine selection is a bit thin. I've also been in here three times over the last year, and didn't see much change in their offerings compared to most places. I'm a Cabernet guy, and having tried their entire offering here I was a bit "meh" about all of them. Nonetheless, they aren't terrible. It's just not a wine bar. In fact, I would go so far as to say it's far more of a beer bar. I've got to come back here at some point to experience the beer side of things. I imagine the experience would be better. They boast cocktails like "Sex in the Mess Hall," which is a terrible name for a cocktail hahaha!! I mean I see what they are doing. Sex on the Beach. Sex in the Mess Hall. Ok. Except sex on the beach sounds romantic! Sex in the Mess Hall sounds super weird, voyeuristic / exhibitionistic / kinky. I mean whatever floats your boat I guess, but just from a marketing perspective that one is questionable. Who is the target audience of that one exactly? Hahaha jeez... I love the location of this place. There's shops and restaurants close by, and gorgeous places to walk around right outside. Major plus! There's also a cooler full of beer you can buy and take to go. So it's half beer market as well. That's a good thing to know about.

Yelp
We sat in the Mess Hall Cocktail Bar for drinks before exploring the public market. We were able to snag seats at the bar area easily since we came on a Monday evening. I was able to order a citrus bubbly drink - light and crisp - for $5. It was a perfect and bright drink after a long day. I had a bite of my friend's meatballs that he ordered. The meatballs were tasty, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I like all the seating and you can bring in food from the other vendors, esp if it's not too busy (weeknights). The vendors in the public market close early but Mess Hall stays open later. So get your walk on (it's small public market), then hang out at MH for the remainder of the night.

Yelp
So much to chose from! They have very good selections of beers and reasonable for the price, too. I really enjoyed the 2 towns ciderhouse cosmic crisp. Keep note they don't have straws, so they serve it to you in the cups with the lids. My cider was carbonated, so it kept spilling over when I was walking around, haha. It wasn't that strong either because I've had some cider and it got me buzzed. Not this one though! Nonetheless, definitely recommend this if you're thirsty!

Yelp
Great place to relax and have a beer or cocktail. Really enjoyed my drink and the view

Yelp
I didn't get the chance to eat here, but it looks really nice! I will definitely come back to eat and drink!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I loved my experience here at Mess Hall! The service was fantastic and the food was even more fantastic! I ordered the duck confit and my friend ordered a pie (pizza). Both dishes were so delicious that I would come back and order the same things! As a matter of fact, the pie was the most delicious thing I have had in a very, very long time! It was so full of flavor and the curst was perfect! Overall, we had a great experience. Dinner here can run from $15-$30 a person so it is averaged-priced for a cute hipster place like this. Since this is the only place in the public market with its own seating, it is definitely recommended if you're looking for a place to sit.
google avatar

Melanio F.

Yelp
You can order food from the menu and eat at the bar. Part of the area is open to those who purchased their food from one of the stalls in the Liberty Public Market. Drinks were good, mocktails as well as cocktails. I had the fruitiest beer (fruit beer) with my food, Zuchinni croquettes with boschetto and 18 yr balsamic - yumm. Service on a Monday was slow but not intolerable since it wasn't busy and I was waiting on friends. Overall, since the Public Market is fairly small, you can get your lobster roll and have the beer/cocktails at the Mess Hall Cocktail Bar. I will definitely return and try other drinks and food. Hopefully I can do a sit down at the Mess Hall restaurant (which is a small part of the whole area, the other space is for the craft brewery which I can't remember the name). Stone Brewery is also in the same area.

Yelp
Visited Mess Hall last month with some friends for our monthly ROTM. I was excited to dine here given all the rave about Liberty Stations Public Market. Mess Hall is pretty big and VERY loud. I walked in and was immediately overwhelmed by the loud noise rolling through the walls of the hall. As you take a sit, you can't help but notice the number of people walking in and out of Mess Hall. It appears that Mess Hall serves as a walk way to the market. Therefore a number of people entering are just walking through rather than actually dining there. I wonder how that will work out for them. In reviewing Mess Hall I feel as if I'm reviewing the Public Market as they are so interrelated. I will try to refrain from doing that and save my Public Market reviews for a separate review. The concept of the Mess Hall is cool- the menu changes daily given the fresh produce of the day from the Public Market. I appreciate the collaborative forces that they are employing and feel that other local establishments should aim to do the same. For dinner I had the Pork tenderloin with adobo sauce and cotija cheese on a bed of veggies. It was delicious and a very unique dish unlike anything I've had before. They have a great wine selection with a couple of Mexican wines of which of course I ordered, I opt to support Baja regional wines as much as possible #bajaismysecondhome I must say that the service at Mess Hall started off good with our server being very attentive and pleasant. However, this soon changed when it got a little busier and we were handed off, without notice, to various other servers creating a bit of confusion to the group. I would definitely suggest looking into that :) Lastly- do not dine here if you are hoping for a romantic dinner quiet dinner. Do dine here if you are open to good food with the unlikeliness of being able to hear the person across your table.

Yelp
First of all, Liberty Public Market is an incredible place and if you ever get the chance to go, I would highly recommend it. The inside of the open market is full of little restaurants, people selling clothing/jewelry/hand-made crafts etc. This particular spot, Mess Hall, is a great place to take a quick pitstop for a beer. I love their selection - they have beers from local breweries (small ones to the larger names) and it's a good mix of IPA's especially. My family and I sat down and tried a few different ones and really enjoyed them all (especially the double IPA's obviously!). There is also a bar that sells mixed drinks, but I have yet to try that spot out. I will soon! The only downside is that the way the room is set up is a little awkward to get to your seat. It's a bit cramped and the tables are all very close together (to be fair, it isn't a huge space to begin with). Definitely a great place to sit after walking around (to either grab a quick bite or beer!). Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yesenia A.

Yelp
Tons of options and reasonable prices as well as a cool and I would place to hang out around! They also have mixed drinks available!
google avatar

Yelp
My disdain for the closure of the grape smuggler is considerable and well documented. I miss the wine bar so much but i have learned to embrace the mess hall, although super crowded and loud, theres a beautiful girl here who can make cocktails like a Mofo, she did an excellent and proper whiskey sour and she makes a perfect cadillac margarita, her name is Erin. Best time to go is early before the crowd, i like ordering food from the market and bringing it into the bar.
google avatar

Jaylene C.

Yelp
The Mess Hall is located indoors in the same area as Bottlecraft and next to the outdoor patio area. It is a nice sectioned off area where the tables are set with napkins and utensils. The Mess Hall is only open at particular times during certain days of the week - mainly for dinner and then Sunday brunch and roast. The Mess Hall Cocktail Bar is in between the Mess Hall and Bottlecraft and is practically open the normal Liberty Public Market hours. This place mainly uses items that can be found throughout the market. The menu is not set and will constantly change. Make sure to check out their menu... so far, they have some fancy items available. The staff was friendly and kindly explained what the Mess Hall is all about. Food was great and looking forward to the endless, delicious, variety of meals that they will have to offer.

Yelp
Customer service is trash literally walked up and was next in line to get my order taken and some girl walks up on the other side and the bartender takes her order so i move and stand next to her with wallet and id in hand and another couple stand in the spot i just was at waiting and he walks over then takes there order knowing i was standing waiting for my order to be take wtf customer service is that trash as hell.

Yelp
So, this place has changed a few times since it first opened. Used to serve food and drinks, now just drinks. But it's great. You can order a beer, wine or cocktail, and get it in a real glass if you're going to stay in the bar, or in a plastic cup if you want to bring it outside or wander around the public market with it. I like to bring my food in and eat in here, or, if it's too loud and the weather is nice -- out on the patio. They also have Happy Hour Mon-Fri 3-6 pm: $6 wine, $5 wells, $4 pints, plus $5 margaritas on Tuesdays, and $6 mimosas and $8 bloody Marys on Sat & Sun 8-11 am. Good times!
google avatar

W C.

Yelp
$10.75 for Stone IPA in a plastic cup??? You can't get away with $7 or $8 but $10.75 is way too much
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
Drinks are reasonably priced, otherwise I would have given 1 star. Staff is unpleasant and most recently one bartender was extremely rude, completely unprompted. We asked about the options for beer and he spoke to us like we were stupid evidently there are multiple options for where to purchase beer from and he knew nothing about the variety they offered once he pointed that out, in fact his exact words were "I don't know, you'll have to look yourself". Completely unprofessional, even for a the casual service industry. Covid times are rough, but you don't have to be an ass, especially if the customer didn't give you a reason to be.

Yelp
The Mess Hall was SUCH an awesome spot to have drinks and just mingle with the crowd and bartenders. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar while killing time waiting for our breakfast reservations with the beautiful male bartender approached us with his enthusiasm and welcoming soul. After downing one drink, we told him we'd come back after breakfast and that we did!! He was such a joy and entertainment to have as our bartender. Then Erin came! And introduced us with her love for Lana Del Rey and new drink concoction for us to try, which no lie, was fucking DEEEEEEEEEELICIOUS. The lavender fragrance really hit the spot!!!!!! I love you two so much and can't wait to come back to visit again!! Make sure you have that coconut rose cocktail ready to go when we come to visit!!!!! June 10, 2018: Just as an FYI, the "beautiful male bartender" I was referring to was David. My girlfriend and I came back today for a weekend trip and yet again, David was on top of providing the best service. Thank you, David! We seriously appreciate your hospitality :)

Yelp
I really love this place. It's casual and fun - such a great place to meet with friends to have a beer or a cocktail. The space is large and the seating is bar style so you can always make new friends. It is kid friendly and has outside seating. I would recommend coming here or bringing visitors from out of town because you can sit in the Mess Hall and walk around and enjoy food from other businesses. Highly recommend

Yelp
Super cool brewery place to hang out at! They have such a huuuuuuge variety of beers to choose from and from so many companies. You can either purchase a bottled beer, canned beer, or beer on tap. Prices range anywhere between $1.50-$15 for a beer. It's really spacious inside with high cielings. And you can drink at a table, bar or even outside! And if you purchased a bottled beer, they can give you a glass or plastic cup to use. Overall, awesome place.

Yelp
Pretty good Our bartender was kinda weird and kept staring at us, but I guess we was trying tk engage us? Not sure haha We got the jalisco mule and let's get tiki. The mule was very strong and the tiki was very sweet. I preferred tiki to the mule because I prefer sweeter drinks. I will come back to try the food!

Yelp
Inside the Market at Liberty Station, there are many reasons to visit. There are tons of boutiques, places to grab a drink, and food stands aplenty. The Mess Hall, a sit down place with a great bar and open kitchen, is a great spot for brunch or a drink or to relax with your buds and hang out. The place is spacious and airy, with a relaxed and friendly service that makes the experience welcoming. Menu-wise, there aren't a ton of offerings, but they focus on making their menu items excellent. We came to visit for brunch: For drinks, our table tried the lavender agave mimosas (delicious), the Bellini (awesome) and the kir royale, a French aperitif that is essentially champs + cranberry (amazing). For our meals, we loved the duck confit - it wasn't too oily, and was tender and flavorful. The polenta and roasted vegetables were tasty. The only downer on the menu was the bread pudding French toast, which was much too dense and a bit lacking in taste. Otherwise, from start to finish the meal was great! Price-wise, the food and drinks are a bit expensive. Especially with the density of good brunches around town. I'd still certainly return for a meal! Overall: Food: 4.5/5 Price: 3/5 Ambience: 4/4 Service: 4.5/5 Total: 4/5. Great place to go eat, then explore the market afterwards!

Yelp
Awesome, great scenery! Came here on a Saturday and it was packed wall to wall! This was my first time at liberty station on a Saturday and it had such fun and upbeat energy! The sangria, with elderflower liquor, was such a treat. The beers here were fresh and delicious too! You will love this casual bar! Good luck finding a seat. Instagram: @glowrae

Yelp
Very clean and fresh atmosphere! Plenty of seating at the bar area and tables of all sizes. I asked the bartender if we were able to bring the outside food in and she told us we're more that welcome to! While waiting to snag a table I stood at the bar trying to decide on a beer. Toni the bartender (99% sure that was her name) offered to grab me some testers. She asked what type I was looking for and I told her either a hef or blonde. So she came back with two IPA's... not a fan of IPA but I tried anyway. So I chose the lighter one and she came back with the darker. I just assumed that I said the wrong one or was just going crazy! Then my friend, who doesn't really drink came over to the table laughing saying that he ordered a strawberry daiquiri since the bartender talked him into a drink. Imagine our confusion and surprise when a martini of some sorts shows up at our table... so I'm not crazy! It was strong! I know there is a classic daiquiri drink but this was not that. The receipt says daiquiri (not strawberry like he asked for) and I know that because she added him to my check with out even asking me! He walked to the bar way after me and she asked him where he was sitting so she just added him to mine! Not cool, especially when she put the rest of my crews drinks on my tab too!! She was extremely nice but might need a bit more training. Also, someone should really build the manager an office! I thought I saw an open chair at the bar until I was told that is where the manager sits all day so I can't sit there. Ok...

Yelp
After being informed of the 75 minute wait for Sunday Brunch at Breakfast Republic, we decided to try Mess Hall. The atmosphere is nice, albeit a bit loud. The staff was great in accommodating food concerns (I'm allergic to cilantro and my friend eats glutton free). They were happy to make substitutions and recommendations to help us out. The brunch menu was pretty limited, so we both tried the roasted veggies with polenta and a poached egg. My dish came with a different sauce because the other sauce had cilantro in it. Overall the dish was amazing! I savored each and every bite. The veggies and egg were all cooked perfectly and packed with natural earthy flavors. The polenta was super creamy, tasted almost more like a mashed potato. It was seriously so good! My only compliant is that the dish was small and not very filling. If veggies are the focus of your dish, then I think they could have gone a bit larger on the portion size. I would have happily paid $3-$5 more for a larger portion of veggies. In addition, two eggs would have turned it into more of a meal. Next time, I'll def ask to add a second egg a la carte. Lastly, my friend's mimosa was in a tiny flute for which she was charged $12.95 (as much as her entree). That price for a small mimosa seemed way over the top... For that size mimosa, even at this nice of a place, I think $8 would have been a fair price. It was like a 600% markup! Overall, I loved my dish and I will be back!

Yelp
Mess hall seems like kind of a weird name for this place. For me, it calls to mind sloppiness or mass produced food. But this is the opposite. The menu is unique and carefully crafted with seasonal, available ingredients. I'd call it American or California food, I guess. Everyone in my group of 4 loved their entrees. I had the tomato tart, which was a good size and delicious as a vegetarian entree (I'm not even a vegetarian). Another in my group got the sea bass with job's tears, and he was very pleased with the portion size and it's perfectly cooked-ness. I think the menus change frequently, maybe even daily. I liked how every entree on the menu had a suggested beer and wine pairing. We were offered samples of beers we were curious about, too. For prices--My tomato tart was around $16 and the fish/meat entrees were around $25. But the most stand-out thing about this meal was our waiter. He was extremely knowledgable about the beer, wine, and every food dish. He was downright excited and passionate to tell us things. We all loved him and my friend even said, "he's the best waiter in San Diego." The sad thing is that we couldn't remember his name! He was a younger guy with brown hair. He was great.

Yelp
Went here for the first time today for lunch and was not disappointed! I ordered the fish and chips which was excellent although they could have included more chips for the price of just under $15. The halibut was cooked to perfection and delicious. Comes with good citrus tartar sauce and fresh lemon wedges. My wife and our server highly recommend the BLT with heirloom tomatoes and thick cut bacon. Reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the atmosphere; very noisy with screeching babies and a lot of foot traffic entering/exiting the Market. Add music to that and it's difficult to carry on a conversation. We will come back for dinner on a week night perhaps. Be prepared to shell out some $$ for the quality locally sourced ingredients...your body will thank you.

Yelp
Service was poor to bad, bartenders need to be tough lots of hospitality. To busy doing busy work and not taking care of customers. I sat at the bar for a few minutes and no one acknowledge me just about to get up and finally some asked if I wanted something. (No I don't just sitting looking at you working) I just decided to have a 4oz poor just to try a new beer. Would have more even something to eat but desired not to drop my money with this kind of service. Apricot wig beer was quite good. Note for manager and owners I understand there is alot of customers (guest) just doing the Sunday curious trying it out but if you don't engage the guest for them to want to come back you are in the wrong buisness.

Yelp
Let me start by saying weekends are very hectic at this place . It's definitely more convenient to go during the week so you can find a table to sit down and grab food within a reasonable time. However , my boyfriend and I went today (Sunday) and met another couple and we decided to grab a few drinks before heading outside to eat . There were a handful of people waiting for Drinks at the bar, so we certainly didn't expect to be served immediately . There was one male bartending who seemed to be the only one with a sense of urgency . There was another woman with dark hair who was serving guests casually and then another woman who had grayish-blonde hair . I have bartending experience and understand the industry so I'm not one to yell " excuse me" or any other annoying phrase when clearly the bar is busy . With that being said , I haven't ever seen a bartender who's walked up and down the bar doing the bare minimum and avoiding guests as this one woman did today ; the one with the grey-ish blonde short hair . We waited patiently for a good 15 minutes for 2 drinks that could have easily taken less than 5 minutes , and she wasn't even the one who served us after making casual conversation and eye contact multiple times when she wasn't doing anything ! At one point she even sat there and scrolled through music while the other two worked. So that was that experience, and we decided to go outside rather than sitting there at the bar . We then came in for our second drink and my boyfriend had to flag her down (after she clearly saw us ) and several others waiting . She then asked for ID , which I get if a guest looks 30 or younger you need to ID, but we were JUST sitting at the bar where we had short conversation with her prior to her ignoring us for drinks . Not only that but she began to question my boyfriend ( who is 36 by the way) on what state he was from and his birthday as if it was a fake ID . At this point it was just ridiculous . She clearly didn't want to be there , not once did we see her smile or have any friendly interaction with guests , and she literally avoided guests waiting to order. After asking questions about the ID she then asked the male bartender to make our drinks as if she had something better to do. Long story short - I'm not sure why someone like this is employed at a very busy bar on the weekend if they seem to hate their job and not enjoy the company of customers , let alone make drinks? Not a pleasant experience what so ever and we won't be returning if this individual is working . Would have given this place more stars if this didn't occur because the drinks are actually pretty good . Unfortunately, service is so important in the industry .

Yelp
This place is a bit pricey but extremely fun. Usually come here after visiting stone. The drinks are yummy and bar tenders are nice & outgoing. Super duper fun spot and you have to be on the prowl for a table !!

Yelp
Located inside the new Public Market at Liberty Station. Menu changes daily depending on what's available from local vendors. Pricing on menu is all $xx.73 ($14.73, $19.73, $24.73.... You get the picture). First impression - very casual, great for drinks, etc. I ordered a roasted pasta with zucchini and Parmesan for $19.73. My husband ordered the lemon pan roasted wild salmon for $24.73. Both dishes were delicious, but they were small!! We left hungry. $57.20 for 2 entrees and one 16oz IPA! It would've been okay if the entrees didn't look like appetizers. Jus sayin

Yelp
This review is exclusively for the bar: My experience was absolutely terrible. How is it that someone can get the job as a bar tender? She has no skill or hospitality. This old fishwife was shrewd and rude. I will not go back to the bar for 12 dollar plus drinks and piss poor attitude.

Yelp
This place is great for a casual atmosphere. Many beers on tap, nice craft cocktails and versatile wine. With indoor and outdoor seating, kid friendly.

Yelp
This has been a super fun spot to hit in liberty station. All kinds of drinks and food. It is outdoors and separated seating. We usually come here before or after heading to Stone Brewery!

Yelp
If you can find a seat, you'll be glad you're here! Good drinks, for sure! Only bummer--they're a bit pricey for a local spot. There are a ton of craft cocktail places with more "local" prices. I mean, I get that we're in Point Loma, but still--craft cocktails don't have to be $14 a pop.
