The New Asian Kitchen in LoHi’s Avanti Food Hall Wants to Be the Next Panda Express - Eater Denver

"Meta Asian Kitchen, a new food stall that serves shareable versions of Asian dishes ranging from bao buns and fried calamari to Hong Kong streetcakes, officially opened for business at LoHi’s Avanti Food & Beverage food hall yesterday. The new stall is the brainchild of Kenneth and Doris Wan, a couple that recently relocated to Denver from the New York area, where they launched the first iteration of Meta Asian Kitchen as a pop-up operation that would show up at various markets." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Update 2/2/21: I ordered takeout again through Postmates and something went wrong on Postmates' end. When I reordered and received my food, Meta Asian Kitchen comped me a scallion pancake (also delicious) and apologized for the canceled order (which was not their issue). Classy people and great food! I ordered the spicy noodles and Chinatown dumplings. They were delicious! Ye be warned, they mean business with their spice. But that’s exactly what I was looking for and I was very pleased! The dumplings were also delicious! My only issue was that there wasn’t much for veggies in the noodles. If they could figure out that ratio a little better, they would have been perfect!

Google
Delicious Asian Cuisine in Avanti featuring Bao Buns, Dumplings, Noodles and more! I stopped by Meta Asian Kitchen to celebrate Mile High Asian Food Week and was really impressed by the food I had. I got the Bao Bun Trio with Pork Belly, Chicken, and Shitaki Bao. I also had the Beef Stir Fried Noodles. Both were full of flavor and I definitely want to come back soon and try the dumplings!

I have some thoughts about one of the items. The place is really good so I gave it 5 stars, and you should give it a try if you're in area, but it's more 4.5 for their spicy noodles. It's like someone who has never cooked spicy food was cooking for somebody who said they liked spicy food, so they add everything they can think of that is spicy regardless of how it tastes. Like if you say you love salty flavor so they add a bucket of salt. I like good spicy food where spiciness works with the overall flavour of the dishes, not like being given a chili pepper to bite on.

Thursday night dinner before heading over to the DPAC. Ordered food on QR code. It came out quickly. Got the chicken dumplings, beef fried noodles and scallion pancakes. My favorite were the dumplings, they were as stuffed to the brim, juicy and well seasoned. I would go back just for those. The beef on the noodles was incredibly tender. I added a fried egg to the noodles as well. Highly recommend.

Google
I had the bao bun combo and the rice cakes (with an egg!). The pulled pork belly in the bao is unique and amazing! Usually pork belly can be a texture challenge for me with the fat, but this is all flavor. So good. I also LOVED the rice cakes. Spicy but not crazy, and the potatoes with the rice cakes (the little ovals) was a lovely combo.

Went to try multiple places inside Avanti but this was at the top of my list. The meta wings were so delicious I don’t even know how to describe the taste. The house made dumplings with chili oil on top is what dreams are made of. And I loved the Chefs confidence in her food I asked what was good and she said EVERYTHING is good because she makes it😂.

Google
I was so pleasantly surprised to find such authentic scallion pancake wraps in Denver of all places. I haven't had these since I was visiting Taiwan when I was a little kid. The scallion pancakes were crispy, not skimpy with the scallions like most other places. Filled with scrambled egg, tender hoisin beef, cilantro, bean sprouts - soooo good and fresh tasting! They only serve it on weekends from 11-2 so get there early and grab a spot on the deck upstairs for a great snack brunch with a drink.

Google
Best dumplings and noodles we've had since visiting Beijing. Tasted the dumplings, sizzling noodles, and bao. Sizzling noodles are amazing. Perfect amount of spice and that numbing feeling that Sichuan is famous for. Everything was absolutely delicious. If we were being very picky, the pork belly bao was a touch sweet for our taste, but even that is not a flaw. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
The first time I came to eat at meta kitchen was at their grand opening at honor farms where they had a collab with pho king rapidos. Everything we ordered were quite tasty. The chicken dumplings were delicious. The fried chicken in the bao was good too. I don't know how to describe the taste but i enjoyed it. The chicken skewers were probably my favorite. The sauce tasted like something you would eat with hainese chicken rice. The new location at Honor Farms is quite eclectic. Their are tons of skulls and quirky decor. It's on Blake St so good luck on parking and be prepared to pay for a parking lot or walk.

Yelp
I had the beef stir fry noodles on Friday night along with the crab cheese wontons and it was some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The little, like less than a few ozs of beef was so over cooked it tasted like jerky, the noodles felt old and were flavorless but the worst of all was the crab cheese wontons were sweet. And the dipping sauce was even sweeter. I couldn't even finish the food because it was unappetizing. But the worst of all was the price. The entire photo you see is $32 after tip. I feel like I was robbed.

Yelp
I got the Asian week noods special and it was fuckign delicious! The dumplings were so damn good! Service was amazing and ambiance is good in Avanti I would try every item on this menu after trying their food

Yelp
Didn't realize this spot was tucked away inside a bar - bonus! This is spot puts a modern twist on familiar flavors! I tried the 3 bao combo which had the fried chicken, tofu, and pork baos! All were super tasty, but the fried chicken was definitely the winner! I went with a friend who was vegan so we shared the vegan spring rolls with duck sauce - tasty combo! If you're looking for a spot that has great drinks and filling food at a reasonable price, this is a great option!

Yelp
Meta Asian Kitchen is located within the Avanti food hall in Downtown Denver. I wasn't that hungry, so I just ordered the shiitake mushroom bao bun and scallion pancake to snack on. I didn't have much expectations, but the bao bun had a lot of flavors. The pickled shiitake mushrooms have a vinegary and tangy taste and went well with the scallions and basil ranch. It was different and I liked it! The scallion pancakes were very dry and salty. It also lacked flavor. My coworkers got the beef stir-fry noodles and sizzling spicy noodles. They both liked their entrees. I didn't try them though.

Yelp
One of the stalls at the Avanti food hall, this one seemed the pick of the bunch to me. They offer dishes with numbing spice which is both also hot in the traditional sense but also give you a bit of a tingly numbing sensation. The noodles I ordered came quickly, and were freshly cooked with a satisfying array of greens. Adding tofu brought the price to something like $20 for a small plate, a terrible portion to price ratio. Perhaps this is why the people in Denver seem to be so skinny; they can't afford the food. The flavor delivered; the noodles were on the chewier side and the amount of tofu small, but the slightly astringent spice mix was worthwhile. The guy working there said they make their own chili oil. I'm all about Chinese chili oil, so I hope this stall does well and maybe expands some day.

Yelp
Situated in the Avanti building, it was a great choice for a lunch date with girlfriends! I chose Meta, and got the Sizzling Spicy Noodles! I added a fried egg for an extra $2.00. It was easy to order through the app, then pick it up when I received a text that it was ready! The service was great and the chefs were open to some quick chat! Noodles were fresh and spicy! Delicious! Would recommend!

Yelp
I went to Avanti a while ago. I love the outdoor space but also the fireplace area inside. It can get packed since it's so popular on the weekends. Meta Asian is one of my favorite spots there (I hear it might be temporarily closed). The spicy noodles still make my mouth water just thinking about it and the baos were some of the best I've ever had! Highly recommend when going with a group of friends and everyone can get different types of food with plenty of seating options! Meta was pretty quick with their food prep too!

Yelp
Meta Kitchen rules! Every time I find myself in Avanti I find myself gravitating in the direction of Meta Asian Kitchen. I'm a sucker for scallion pancakes and love ordering this savory dish whenever I spot it on a menu. Meta's scallion pancakes are super crispy and light with the perfect vinegary soy dipping sauce. I also love the bao trio with a fried chicken, pork belly (my personal favorite), and pickled shiitake bao bun. The pickled shiitake bao bun surprised me in the best possible way. I figured if I was going to try more than one why not go big and try all three options? Avanti can get a bit crowded and noisy but Meta is always worth the stop.

Yelp
Per Westword magazine, this was one of the twelve best Chinese restaurants in Denver in 2020, the competition must be kind of low, because this definitely wouldn't rank very high on my list. The scallion pancake didn't have a lot of onions, wasn't very flakey, had a strong salty taste, and was completely overpriced at $6.50. The bao combo (pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, and chicken) faired better. The best of the three would be the pork belly. My date liked the chicken one the best though. I kind of wish the bun itself wasn't warmed. Who likes cold buns? If this is considered one of the best Chinese restaurants in Denver, the locals are really missing out.

Yelp
I like to consider myself a connoisseur of mozzarella sticks, and I'm not one to engage in hyperbole so when I say these were the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had i my life, take me at my word. The stir fry was so delicious I literally left nothing in the plate, this was all around amazing. It's inside Avanti so the vibes are based on your opinion of the place, but I like it so I say the vibes 4/5. Service was great, matched the quality of the food and that's saying something.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening, the wait time was minimal and the food was prepared reasonably quickly. I had the Sizzling Spicy Noodles with chicken, and overall really enjoyed the meal. They absolutely nailed the super addictive numbing spicy. The portion size looked huge when I first got my plate and thought I'd have left overs for the next day, but it quickly became apparent I wouldn't be able to resist finishing the whole thing. Their menu said the dish is inspired by Xi'an Famous Foods' noodle dish, which got me really excited for a taste from home. While on the whole they nailed the flavor profile, I do have to dock the dish a bit for using much thinner noodles than the pulled style noodles. The selection of veggies was also a bit curious, but that difference was less noticeable than the change in noodles. If you live in Denver and are looking to hit a craving for flavorful Chinese food I'd recommend. If you're visiting from a city rich with Chinese food though I would say you could probably pass on making a stop here

Yelp
MAK is located inside Avanti F&B. Parking is headache on evenings unless your on foot or scooter. The menu is very simple good old homey items like spring rolls, scallion pancakes, and bao buns. You won't find your typical sesame chicken dishes here and the price premium is due to the location. My favorite item here is actually the house made "ginger scallion sauce" at a whopping $.50 cents a pop. If MAK ever decides to go into the sauce business, I want in! Order online: ToastTab.com

Yelp
Only got the wings - they were soooo good. Crispy and juicy and so flavorful. The only thing that would make them better is if they were tossed in a sauce. The wing order had 6 in total and came with a sauce of their ranch (had a cilantro flavor to it). All of it was delicious - loved the Asian flavors and how crispy it was. Would come back just to get these wings!

Yelp
Meta Asian Kitchen is located inside Avanti. If you're sleeping on them, I'm going to question your existence. Do you like Asian food? Like bomb Asian food? Like really effing bomb Asian food? Don't miss out on Meta! Though a tiny food stall, they are executing massive flavors. There is zero shortage of flavor injected into each dish. Everything they crank out belongs on the menu. And that's saying something. Many restaurants put out a lot of filler for various reasons. Here at Meta it's all thrills. Not cheap ones either. First off, you can order takeout and delivery from them. On my most recent visit, a buddy and I dined in. Which is incredibly safe and distanced at Avanti. For the weekend of Lunar New Year, the cravings were real. I actually turned my friend onto this spot and he's ordered delivery a handful of times recently. Dining in person amps up the experience. Chinatown Dumplings // I've had these a few times and it's difficult not to order them upon each passing visit. Absolutely loaded with generous chunks of chicken. They're boiled first before pan frying. It's a no brainer. Scallion Pancakes // If you think of a scallion pancake as an Asian quesadilla there's no turning back. These are well seasoned, foldable and scrumptious. Spicy Sichuan Wings // I have found my new favorite chicken wing! Oh lawdy, these are juicy, plump and meaty birds. The Sichuan seasonings and Sambal are absolutely to die for. There's a nice numbing of the lips when devouring these. And yes, you will devour these quickly! The owners are a husband and wife duo named Kenneth and Doris. They have tons of industry experience, and I'm so glad we get to call them our own here in Denver. I have a feeling we're going to here the Meta Asian Kitchen name a lot over the next few years!

Yelp
Located inside Avanti F&B, one of the vendors on the main floor towards the back. They have maybe two vegan items that are notated on their menu. I had them both. They're good but i have since craved their Sizzling Spicy Noodles numerous times since having it. Get the Sizzling Spicy Noodles. Order and pay with them. They give you a buzzer that let's you know to return and retrieve your order.

Yelp
After spending my morning getting pampered nearby (hello Clementine's) I decided to splurge just a bit more and head over to Avanti for a drink and bite to eat before making my way home. After browsing the various menus I decided to check out Meta Asian Kitchen. Meta Asian Kitchen boasts a drool-worthy menu. From bao buns, dim sum, rice a noodle plates - they're bound to have something delicious for all you're craving! I noshed on the Beef Stir-Fry Egg Noodles. They were excellent. Perfectly fried and flavorful. I couldn't resist the chance to try the Bao Buns and picked up a Spicy Chicken Bao to accompany my meal. Being my first time trying a Bao Bun, I wasn't sure what to expect. They were light and fluffy - the perfect wrapper to serve up the spicy chicken filling. Their stall is outfitted in cute decor that exudes all the Asian street vendor vibes. Within 15 minutes of placing my order I was on my way back to my table with my meal in hand. Love having such a wonderful variety of dinning options at Avanti and will happily return to try more of Meta Asian Kitchen's fantastic menu.

Yelp
Unfortunately giving a 2 due to unexpectedly bad service as well as mixed review on the taste of their items. Last Saturday a group of 4 of us came here for lunch and between ourselves we ordered the spicy noodles with chicken, two beef noodles, two chicken dumplings, and. Brunch scallion pancake. The brunch and spicy noodles were very delicious with great texture and tons of flavor. The dumplings were alright, the filling perhaps could have been better with ginger, it tasted as though something was missing but they weren't bad, I just wouldn't order them again. The group did not enjoy the beef noodles, saying they preferred the spicy ones. It was also the spicy noodles that the employee recommended. What was very disappointing though is that she also dropped my noodles, so my order of the noodles and dumplings came out much later, by the time everyone else had already finished eating. With out of town visitors especially and at a social environment to share a meal together and having limited time, I would expect something to make up for this inconvenience. I tipped as well. Yet there was no apology, though I would have expected to be comped for something or even have an extra set of dumplings to go would have made up for this.

Yelp
One of my favorite Asian places in the city, truly a step above. I always get dishes that have Szechuan so it has that tingle in addition to spice. Really recommend the mozzarella sticks, and the sizzling spicy noodles.

Yelp
Hands-down, one of my FAVORITE Chinese restaurants in Denver! The couple who runs it is so kind- and truly cook authentic Chinese dishes. We loved them before COVID, and love them even more after. For #YelpsBigNightOut, I ordered their family pack, which included fried rice, beef noodles, and 6 bao buns. I didn't know what to expect, but when I got home, I was surprised by how well the bao buns were presented! Look at my photos- these puppies were very pretty! Service is still on at Avanti; be sure to check online for hours and pick-up. Online ordering is super easy and your local restaurants appreciate your help even more! (Plus side- you don't have to deal with finding a seat or crowds like a normal trip) YAY META!

Yelp
This spot is located inside Avanti Food Hall amongst other little food stands to choose from. Decided to get the steak and egg sandwich from here. The portion is great. I would recommend to share and get something else small to get a little taste of different things. The steak was a little bit chewy but not bad. The pancake was fluffy. The hoisin sauce of course made it a little sweet and a little too much for my taste. Would recommend to add a little sriracha for some spice. They have Bao buns here which I didn't get a chance to try but it looked really good for a next trip back!

Yelp
One of the tastiest stir fried noodles ever! Truly makes me want to go back to order something else to try but wow those noodles are packed with so much flavor. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back to snag another plate. Extremely tasty and addicting. The service wasn't the friendliest when I went, but the food is so ridiculously tasty that I can look past that lol

Yelp
This five star review is for Chris! I was disappointed they had to run out of one of their menu options and he helped me. :) Excellent customer service!!!

Yelp
I believe Meta is newer to Avanti and it was a nice addition to some of the vendors who have been there for awhile. The pork belly bao bun was definitely the stand out. Super juicy pork belly, fresh veggies, and a super soft bun. What more could you ask for?! I enjoyed the chicken dumplings but they were pricey; $7.50 for 4 dumplings seems a bit steep. They were soft, with a little crisp on the outside. Sadly, they lost some of the crisp because they were swimming in their sauce. Hopefully they come down in price and offer the sauce on the side... I'd come back for more if that happens!

Yelp
Meta Asian does a good job of delivering decent Asian-American dishes. Chen Kenneth Wan is classically trained and brought his art of cooking from NYC to Denver. We stopped by Meta on a busy Saturday night. The line was long and after reading the reviews, we decided to wait it out. The disappointing factor to the night was that many dishes on the menu were already sold out by 7 pm. Luckily, we were able to get the last order of chicken dumplings, which were soooo good. The chili oil is optional, but don't skip it. I am not a fan of heat, but this added so much flavor to the dish and helps balance out the Meta soy. We also orders all of the bao buns. While they were decent, I would pick one and move on. I had a hard time after the pork belly bun, and the veggie and spicy chicken just didn't deliver any flavor. Honestly, if you blindfolded me and asked which one was chicken and which one was veggie, I wouldn't be able to tell you. We tried one of the specials, a fried egg roll, which was our second favorite dish of the night. Mama Wan's big bite was over powered by hoisin sauce. Thankfully the white r ice reduced the powerful salty and rich flavor of the hoisin. If you like salt, order this dish. Overall, they are very popular and if you want to get your Meta fix, get there early. The dumplings are a must for any Asian food fan. I would skip the boa buns and Mama Wan's big bite.

Yelp
I'm always skeptical of trendy food halls but my wife remembered seeing a feature about Meta on local tv a while back and had on her list. We finally stopped in today and they didn't disappoint! Very worth the drive a little bit out of our way to stop in. Pork buns and dumplings were some of the best we've had in a long time - The dipping sauce that came along with the dumpling was especially interesting in a great way. The star of lunch was for sure the weekend special, Steak and Eggs Jian Bing. Scallion pancakes are incredible as is but just wait until you've had them as a breakfast sandwich. If you're here during the right time this is a must order. I'm pretty sure it was one of the co-owners that took our order and he was very friendly in our quick interaction. Left us with a great impression. Of course, all the covid safety you'd expect was in place at Avanti. We felt no fear sitting down to dine in. Great spot!

Yelp
I come to Avanti pretty regularly and usually get Gorlami but decided to try Meta this time I ordered the dumplings and sizzling spicy noodles. Absolutely amazing. The flavor will blow your mind and fill you with absolute joy knowing how much effort goes into such a simple dish. The noodles are cooked perfectly and it has such a great kick with the spice. I added on the shredded pork belly which was the best decision i made all day. Dumplings were phenomenal. Crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. Makes me want to learn Chinese cooking. Check it out now.

Yelp
Yooooo I've been on the search for good biang biang noodles all around Denver and this hits the spot! Numbing, flavorful, with a nice kick! The noodles are chewy and firm which I love. The chili oil with the pork belly (add on) was to die for! Probably not the best meal after finishing a softball game in 100 degree heat but it was totally worth it. Located in the first floor of Avanti, this is a must go! I'll be definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Loved this place! We had the chicken bao, dumplings, and beef noodles. All were absolutely delicious! We had a few other spots in the Avanti Food Hall but this was our favorite. The hall is in a great area and great views of the city. Will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent menu options. Love the three baos. Husband got spicy noodles, I did not think it was spicy, more like tingly and sassy. Great service too!

Yelp
Had a wonderful smorgasbord of food at Meta today. It was delicious. I enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere of the Avanti Marketplace as well. It is a great place to grab food solo, do some remote work from home, or gather with friends. I ordered the beef stir fry noodles -- quite spicy and my favorite, the pork bao bun -- delicious and sweet, the meat was a touch dry but it was also my favorite :) I also ordered chicken dumplings, spring rolls, and scallion pancakes. I wouldn't order the spring rolls again. Did enjoy the scallion pancakes ... but confession, I like them a touch greasier. Overall, I really did enjoy my lunch here. Maybe it's because the owners were cooking it up in NY/NJ first -- which was a great sign! I hail from the NYC area and they've got some of the best Chinese. This held up and was delicious! Would definitely return.
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Their entree dishes were so tasty. They had lots of flavor in their chicken curry and charsui pork rice plate. Service was quick and easy. I feel like you can never go wrong with Asian food and this one is a great option.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
I don't eat a lot of pork, but after reading all of the awesome bao bun reviews, I had to give the pork belly bao a shot. YUM! The most pillow-y bun I have ever had, loaded with tender pork belly and some crunchy pickled radish. As soon as I took a bite, I wished I had ordered several more. The Chinatown chicken dumplings were just OK -- next time I will likely order more bao buns or try something new (the Sichuan Rice Cakes look phenomenal). Quick and friendly service with something on the menu for everybody!
google avatar

Hanna A.

Yelp
Located inside of Avanti on the main floor. This is one of my go-to's when I'm there. The food is always great and I love the atmosphere. I usually try the potstickers as an appetizer but they were out of stock unfortunately, which I completely understand there are food shortages everywhere. So, I tried the beef noodles for the first time and you get to choose if you want them spicy or not. I eat a lot of spicy foods so usually when I order something "spicy" it doesn't tend to be. They did not disappoint, it actually had a delicious kick to it. The only thing I would recommend is ordering it with double meat, which is what I did because they don't give a lot of meat with the original dish. All in all a great little spot to try if you're in Avanti.
google avatar

Yush H.

Yelp
Got the Chicken Charsui with rice dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked and well marinated. The char comes across well on the meat and you get that hint of smokeyness. They used thigh meat so it's nice and juicy. The egg was cooked very well with crispy edges and runny yolk. My only complaint would have to be the rice. It was severely undercooked. There was charsui sauce all over the rice and i was looking forward to eating all the rice, but with a hardened center i could barely eat any of the rice. If the rice were cooked well, i know this dish would be flawless.

Yelp
Omg. This place is so good! The pork belly and chicken bao buns were good a little on the salty side because of the sauce. The crêpe and the dumplings were just perfect. I like to add some chili oil for spice

Yelp
Thank you mr bill! Awesome fresh Chinese food! Prefect cooked rice and noodles! Beef Noodle Plate togo perfect!!

Yelp
First night in Denver came here on the way to our hotel. Tried the beef stir fry and the dumplings. I was sooo excited they had dumplings! Then I tasted them....they were so flavorless and just meh. The stir fry was ok just standard fare. To be honest I probably could have had a tastier meal at Panda. Sad because this was a cool little spot.

Yelp
I ordered the spicy chicken Bao Buns. Cook time was a bit long for a foodtruck style vendor, but they were pretty busy given it was a Saturday afternoon/lunchtime. The girl who was working the register was also cooking so they could have also been down the food was good, but not great. the Bao Buns were served like a taco. I wish that the Chicken would have had a little more flavor or would have been crispy. It almost seemed like they had deep fried it the day before and put it in a fridge because the breading was not crispy at all. I probably would not highly recommend the dish I ordered, but would be open to trying some of their other items if someone else was there.

Yelp
Relatively new food stall in Avanti. Honestly it's hard to pry me away from the arepas stall whenever I am at Avanti, but as soon as I heard there were dumplings and bao buns, I was all in for trying out Meta! Highlights: Come here for the bao buns. Seriously. The buns were perfectly sweet and the flavors of the pork belly and spicy chicken were amazing swirls of savory goodness. I really liked the pickled radishes and the addition of the spicy mayo. Other notes: - The chicken dumplings were "meh". I was expecting an explosion of flavors after trying the bao buns, but these were your average dumplings. - We had an interesting experience with one of the chefs. After tasting the dumplings, I did not taste any chili oil. Chili oil is optional on the menu, so I sent my husband to get some thinking that maybe they forgot to put it in the dumplings. No big deal. But when he went to the counter to ask for some on the side, one of the chefs kind of gave him a hard time about it, insisting that the chili oil was already in it. Kind of strange....I've never encountered anyone who was so protective about chili oil. Haha! If you decide to come here, definitely order the bao buns (but maybe bring your own chili oil lol!).
google avatar

Dee C.

Yelp
I was in Avanti for arepas but decided to give this place a try due to the positive yelp reviews. I ordered the chicken dumplings per Yelp. The dumplings came out piping hot and had a nice crispy browning but they were extremely small and flat due to scant meat fillings. To be honest, it's nothing special. The sauce is too vinegary in my opinion. Four small dumplings for $7.5 is too much!

Yelp
Went to Avanti on a Saturday afternoon and thought I'd give Meta a try. I ordered three bao buns - one pork belly and two spicy chicken. My food was ready in about five minutes, although my friend's order, which was identical to mine and ordered right after mine, took over 10 minutes. The presentation of the food was appealing. The buns, while tasty, were a tad on the dry side and I was wishing for more sauce to help make up for that. Additionally, I preferred the pork belly over the spicy chicken. Overall the food was ok, but I've definitely had better bao. Although it won't be my go to when coming to Avanti, I may give it another shot.

Yelp
All I can say is wow. These chicken dumplings are amazing. I had the chance to try Meta Asian Kitchen twice when they were part of a foodie party in New jersey. I can wait to run into them again. These chicken dumplings were paired with cilantro, chili sauce, and fries shallots. They had the perfect amount of kick!

Yelp
This is one of the restaurants in Avanti so this review is based on food from Meta and service/ambiance from Avanti. Ambiance: This place is open seating and we completely lucked out and scored seats upstairs right on the edge so we could get a view of DT Denver. Very young and hip setting. It is a perfect spot to hang out for a weekend afternoon. Servers come by to get your drink orders. To order food, you need to order either by phone or at each restaurants kiosk. Once your food is ready you get a text and you can head down to get your food. Food: We got the steak and eggs jian bun. I am Taiwanese decent and I will attest that this is the elevated version of jian bin. Get this item. Trust me. Your taste buds will thank me. We got the chicken and pork belly buns. Very very good, but not as good as the jian bin. #1 tip, ask for their house hot sauce. *smack* so good!!! Service: Since this is mostly self serve, I have no complaints :) I will say our servers for getting our drinks were very great. Overall, we wish we would've been able to stay longer, but sadly had to leave to catch our flight.

Yelp
This place has THE BEST crab cheese wontons on the west side of Denver. And the duck sauce... to die for! Meta is located inside Avanti right outside downtown denver (you can literally walk across the bride from downtown) and it's a great place to get together for drinks and having a good time. If you're looking for a quiet place for appetizers and drinks go during the non-busy times.

Yelp
This is in a really cool spot, tons of food. But the shining star was the man who prepared our food. He was incredibly nice and spiced up some bao buns with a creative twist when we told him we didn't like mushrooms. Egan was his name and he is phenomenal. I will come back solely because of him. Thanks Egan!

Yelp
We stopped at Meta Asian on our last day in Denver. Their Bao was to die for, and the dumplings were bomb. Not to mention the other great food in the building with them!

Yelp
Okay- firstly I am so happy to see representation at this food court! We went on Halloween night because we had nothing else to do but we are glad we did. We went to snack on some delicious food and luckily we found Meta. We ordered the scallion pancake, calamari, and lemon tea. The scallion pancake was good- I think for the cost it could have been slightly bigger in size. As for the calamari they seemed to be bite-size but they were cooked and seasoned to perfection. (Ask for chili oil! We were happy they had it or we would have questioned its authenticity) The lemon tea deserves its own line... Okay yes it's sweet, yes it's in a carton but that's the whole point! If you've ever traveled to Asia this will take you back there. Plus, with the container set up at the food court, it really felt like we were tourists ( but we live a street up). The food court itself is wonderful and they are lucky to have Meta. 4 stars for the price- a bit steep considering portions but we also understand overhead probably has lots of layers so we get it. 5 stars for taste and overall experience. Thanks Meta Kitchen!
