Metropolitan Café – A Perfect Birthday Experience I recently celebrated my birthday at Metropolitan Café in Freehold, and it was truly perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, and the service was absolutely top-notch — friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Now for the food — everything we ordered was amazing. The sea bass was beautifully cooked and flavorful, the grilled chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, and the sliders were a fun, satisfying bite. The shrimp tacos had the perfect balance of spice and freshness, and the short rib lollipop was fall-off-the-bone tender and rich. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. To top it all off, the martini I had was fabulous — well-balanced and just what I needed to toast the occasion. Metropolitan Café delivered not just a meal but a memorable experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner and can’t wait to return.

We had a great dining experience overall. My husband’s filet mignon was cooked just as he requested, and I really enjoyed the halibut special—it was flavorful and well-prepared. Both were great presentations too! Our waitress was attentive, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The only drawback was the back door near our table, which people kept using to exit. Since it was freezing outside, it was quite drafty! Aside from that, everything else was excellent!

My friend and I got together for dinner. When we arrived we parked in the lot. We walked into a really cute restaurant. We were sat and were served by Josh and he was great. We had some cocktails that included the vodka martini which were good. We also had some fries. It was a good experience all in all.

Amazing dinner…always great service and the best dishes. I loved the shrimp scampi risotto, and the sushi was awesome. Always on point Metro!

1st time going to the restaurant. The decor was absolutely beautiful and the staff was wonderful. The food was great. But the prices were a bit for me. My son ordered the asian steak with noodles, which was 38.99. I would return but for drinks and appetizers only. I was still a bit hungry but I wouldn't order more food too expensive. Overall, this is a great hangout spot to drink.

I have to come here more often! Always excellent food every time! Love the eclectic menu from sushi to steak... Outdoor dining under covered patio! Elegant atmosphere indoors as well with bar downstairs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for higher end dining in downtown Freehold!! UPDATE: I have made this a main goto with consistent high-level service and outstanding cuisine. Added more pics... just so good!

I recently hosted a birthday party for my husband at The Metropolitan Cafe and it was a big hit! Everyone raved about the food and the service. Rob made making the arrangements so easy and seamless. We were a big group so had the upstairs. They made a menu just for us with preselected family style appetizers, choice of salad (2), choice of entrees (4) and a personalized cake for dessert. The cost was very reasonable and all I had to do was show up, put out some decorations and it was roaring success! My only regret is not checking to see if there was any cake leftover!
